you are probably thinking of these things https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Die_(integrated_circuit)
some of them can be really colorful and fancy if you angle the light just right

very uneventful so far. i forgot what i was doing yesterday completely, if i was doing anything in the first place.
will probably get a new camera if i win this ebay action because i might break my current one in an attempt to mod it. my collection grows and my bank account cries still..

crepes bukkake and espresso with hazelnut liqueur, followed by a tandem vol/in-cel walk with some nicaraguan cheroots to get tix for tonight's festivities.

Peak comf.

Might shag the fat bastard rotten / vice versa for this wonderful start to what should be a wonderful day. Might just get a few drinks in him and get me a great big squishy hug.

of course I view positive events positively but for me if I can get through a period of time without anything horrifying happening I'm happy with that result.

Propa leaves from Estelli. Slightly lesser than grade A on the filler and binders, but far from agricultural scrap.
I roll up a bunch of bellicosos, robustos and lanceros, then use the scraps for cigarillos and cheroots, and the scraps of that get shredded and popped in with some perique for pipe tobacco.

Most of them become gifts - christmasses, birthdays, weddings, births, etc.

anyone can do that in under 10 minutes though. all you need is to pop open a webcam (or just turn the focusing knob enough for the lens to fall out like in mine) and extract picrel which blocks IR (all digital sensors are sensitive to it) and then just put it back together and put some sharpie covered tape on the lens and ezpz.
the longest part about all of this is dicking around in OBS to make it not look like shit like in my vid. got rid of the yellow tint and noise by now.
I plan to do this on a proper camera some day but i dunno which one to sacrifice for it. got a nice one on ebay for 11 bucks (inkl. shipping) but its so nice..

Fronto's usually thicker, darker or more mottled, bigger veins . Some wrapper leaves can be fronto (esp if they're maduro broadleaf... I do have half a kg, but it doesn't come out often), but some fronto wouldn't even make binder grade in some cigars.

i like doing this but with tea.
when I wake up really early I have a session at like 6-8 am then around 12 ill have another to get the last out of the leaves from earlier.
there's a lot of caffine in 10g of tea so I rarely need to use new leaves.

unfocused as shit and shit in general since its a 3c webcam but damn. this is real infrared photography now.

>>24384612
>maybe a bad example
not really. i feel like if i listened to it for more than a minute that i would get a pretty nasty earworm from it too. a particularly annoying one..
>maybe wait untill you end up with a cheap camera u never use
i think i found something fun to try this with. bought a tube camera just now and it looks like its pretty IR sensitive too and should be pretty user friendly to mod. now i just gotta figure out how to get all the other stuff it needs to do what i need and then.. idk what to expect to be honest. should be interesting at the very least.
>>
>>24388528
>isn't foley a catheter
apparently it is... I learned something new today.
It's also making sound effects. I prepped a salad (watermelon, cucumber, parsley, carrot, celery, and asian pears) and got about five minutes of sound effects for what's looking to be an incredibly violent movie. I'll have to do some more tonight, but I'm out of crunchy things.
>>
>>24388540
has a very dreamy quality to it. a wide angle shop of a landscape in IR with this 'soft focus' sorta thing going on could look very otherworldly
> if i listened to it for more than a minute

i will do this eventually. hopefully both on film and digital but i dunno what i'll start with. probably digital.
>did you get to the 1000 miles part?
uhhh dunno. stopped listening to that cognitohazard pretty quick. don't want to get an earworm.
>what like an old telivision camera that had a cathode ray tube
yess. actually looks like IR isn't rlly anything new or weird with these but i'll try to make a regular color one do it so we'll see if it even works. the service manual explains how it records in colors which to me doesn't seem like IR would do anything but then it also has a filter and stuff so it still messes with it image it seems.
It needs a separate VCR and stuff but that's for later..
>>
>>24388796
They wanted some specific sounds. Pasta is a very quick and dry snap. you can use it (maybe with some pitch shifting) for something like an old skeleton getting stepped on and shattering, but even then most people ask for something hollow - thin PVC pipe, bamboo, even concrete, porcelain or plywood shapes getting dropped or smashed - something with some clunk to it and a lot of reverb. I wound up making a few dozen shitty 1-5" clay pots one time at a rented pottery studio and filmed myself making and breaking them, then sent the mostly-time-lapse video off to the studio in a file called "money_me_for_the_wavs_and_aiffs.mp4". Celery makes great wet bone snapping sounds. The asian pear was partially for a person being bitten (gives me goosebumps layered over the celery and watermelon rind), and partially for different flesh slicing and tearing sounds. I wound up massacring one of them with a little rotary cutter that I usually use for the tobacco - it's like a tiny pizza cutter.
Yeah, just over five mins of vegan gore.

this sounds like a really interesting and also quite fun job. I have a decent studio mic may give doing this sorta thing a try whenever I can get somewhere to record that isnt so fucking noisy.
rotary cutters are great I have a few for making slingshot bands, id have thought you'd need something blunter or with chonkier blade geometry for making flesh cutting sounds with fruit.

> didn't know you could do that with tea
it sorta depends on the kind of tea and how long you steeped it for but with loose leaf teas they are usually good for at least 2 infusions doing western style.
I'm doing gongfu so 5-10 infusions is pretty standard.
>>
>>24389026
I did it with a low-noise-floor shotgun mic basically touching the fruit. It catches all the squelchy bits. 35 2-5 second clips of "Flesh_Slice_Ap_Rc_fast_slow" "slow_fast" "slow_curve" "slowest_possible" with duplicates.
One day, I'm going to get pulled into security at the airport with a hard drive full of these filenames, and the questions are going to be intense.

>am I correct in thinking it essentially does the same thing as a CRT TV in reverse?
not really.. it still fires a beam and stuff but then reads a reply from the thingie if i understand it correctly. they are closely related but instead of light emitting phosphors it uses light sensitive stuff and then kinda does a radar thing.. i think.

What constitutes as comfy these days? I've lost all touch with reality.
>>
>>24394384
When you do, wear, eat, drink, think, or feel a thing, and you're all "Ahh... this is nice. I needed this." without having a breakdown. That's comfy.

Right now, my couch and these flannel pants are comfy, and my condensed milk coffee is comfy, and I don't want to go do work things because those stupid bastards should almost never be ambushing me with their nonsense of "We broke a thing and we don't know how to fix it!!! The explanation is long, boring, and probably meaner than it needs to be, but the long story short is that It weirds him out that he's attracted to me, and that anyone finds him attractive.
I'll preface this with 'I am the biggest loser I know; I just stopped caring about anyone's opinion of me. I am absolutely not approved to pass judgment'. ... ... ... This guy's childhood has been ruining his life, and he has been kicking the shit out of himself (mentally) since the other kids stopped doing it for him. He's convinced himself he's a loser, but it's all in his head... It's frustrating and heartbreaking. He legitimately makes me want to dom him into being confident.
>>
>>24396023
that's a shame.
I've felt similarly before, being weirded out by someone feeling attracted to me when i saw myself as disgusting.
I managed to get over seeing myself that way evetually but it was something I had to figure out on my own.
I don't think dom-ing ppl into being confident works Ive tried to do that with a girl who had a similar issue, I never managed to change the way she viewed herself
>>
>>24396345
I was just talking shit. I know the GET CONFIDENT, STUPID! programme was designed for failure.
I think the weirdest thing for him is that he's never been attracted to another guy before, and I'm not exactly feminine. He also finds it strange that I'm bi when I'm just a weird goth-hippie-rockstar-wannabe-dude-bro who just patched styles and personality traits on instead of 'outgrowing' things.

We were fairly unique when we were doing it, and we actually got on to some pretty big tours... so unfortunately it's SVPREMO DOXXVBLE. I may have already said too much.
The mental image is spot on - for the bowed songs at least. I even stole a solo spot in our cover of Raining Blood (because there aren't any right notes to hit in a Slayer solo - just bow like you're trying to start a fire and slide around a lot).

And then we'd get off stage, hit the showers if available (raid the paper towel and murder the washrooms if not) and just geek out all night with the crowd... or screw with the headliners... I'll see if I can find it - there is/was a video up on youtube of me front and centre on the last night of one of our tours, dressed like a cowboy, ripping on a banjo while headbanging furiously. It took Stian two songs to notice me, but then he stood there staring me down while I basically improv'd a banjo intro to the third song, and when the song started, he completely broke character - he laughed so hard and so long that it went through the intro, and most of the way through the first verse. He didn't get his shit togther properly until midway through the first chorus, then he flips me off and gets the crowd to chant "FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU!"
It was magical.

yeah covid in particular seems like a bad idea to push yourself from what i've read, unlike some other sicknesses maybe
it seems more like a blood disease than a respiratory one

It gets better with practice - both the improvising, and being able to handle light cardio with mild respiratory issues.
Getting home was the worst - I'd come in sweating through my coat, and want to have a shower, but the only consistent symptoms were mild hangover malaise, and mild sunburn 'everything feels icky, especially falling water'. Certifiably uncomfy.
Having a mocha afterward with whipped cream, bundled up in my fleece robe with the window popped open a bit so I didn't overheat?
Certifiably comfy.

I think by the fourth round (Hurray working in film and television! Constant exposure because people fake tests!) my immune system started making sense of it - just a mild bit of the ick. Those first two rounds were basically giving my immune system shit.

The mochas were hot. Despite sweating profusely and having chilly showers, my skin would be cold and I'd be shivering... Even the first round, I just had a feeling so I prepped the espresso machine before I went out. Chocolate shavings in with the milk while steaming... sum good b'y, sum good.

Most things get better with analysis and practice, but I always found improving musically was just really responsive to both.
>I can hum this, but can't play it. How would I go about starting? What's the first few notes?

mega tasty
>but I always found improving musically was just really responsive to both.
i've noticed as well from what i've done so far
i guess for me it's hard to devote enough energy/focus to creating novel things WHILE properly focusing on analysis/practice, it feels like two different modes for me
but the modes need to become integrated

this is very much the case. improv is not difficult. I have no inate musical talent and manage to throw together melodies via trial and error.
you just need practice and to learn not to second guess yourself.

i guess one way could be to use something very abstract like a DAW to compose, then arrange it for guitar afterwards/separately
improvising/composing directly on the guitar would be cool though, and it seems like the only way is to just do it more or less, like you say

one thing you often see in the south, or the places i've been atleast, is dusty sloped windshields covered in cat footprints
or with just a few cat footprints, like one walked up & jumped down
seemed comfy when i noticed it
>>
>>24424267
>better than buying a new one every 5 years xd
yeah they quite literally don't make them like that anymore.
I wonder how old the one that ran over melonade was lole
>use something very abstract like a DAW to compose, then arrange it for guitar afterwards
yeah that's especially easy with a midi keyboard, I can just noodle around on it untill u come up with like 4 bars that sound decent then do the next 4, takes ages tho.
I guess u could do this with a guitar and paper tho.
>dusty sloped windshields covered in cat footprints

I find I get a lot of out things like guitarpro and tux guitar, but my writing style changes with everything I use. Laptop keyboard vs pen vs guitar vs keys vs bass vs humming - it might as well be different people writing most of the time...
But, that said, tab programs, sibelius, and keys into the daw are great for laying down a quick chord progression to practice, jam, or write over.
>>
>>24424616
I don't rlly write as such.
idk any music theory so I just mash keys on a midi keyboard
>>
>>24424801
You have ears lol. These sound good together? Neato. And you figure out what else sounds good with it by jamming along - which dissonances you can get away with as long as you don't hang on them, and which ones are just leave an acrid taste in your ear holes no matter how quick you jump off of them.
>>
>>24424929
yeah that's pretty much what I do :)
I can't for the life of me figure out physical stringed instruments but thats fine I make electronic music so don't rlly need to play anything like a guitar or whatever.

>>
>>24429232
>disoriented and tired yesterday
I'm not suprised if u barely eat and have lots of sugar lol.
if ur gonna basically starve yourself u should at least stop consuming sugar and have fatty high protein treats like pieces of cheese instead so ur blood glucose isnt constantly yoyo-ing
>but i never pushed myself that much?
its certainly possible as the distance wasn't totally insane. tomorrow it'll become abundantly clear if u went past ur limit or not xD
try to eat a bit more, especially protein and carbs tomorrow if ur in pain.

and despite that somehow all the blood tests that i do all the time say that i have all the nutrients i need and just generally am fine in that aspect.
>stop consuming sugar and have fatty high protein treats like pieces of cheese instead so ur blood glucose isnt constantly yoyo-ing
that would be basically doing a low calorie keto diet wouldn't it?
>if ur in pain
huh what do you mean? why would i be in pain after exerting myself a bit? my muscles aren't even sore right now despite doing all of that. i might try to do more mountain stuff tomorrow if i have time.
>>
>>24429938
>i have all the nutrients i need
yeah like its suprisingly hard to fuck yourself in that department but that dosent mean you should neglect it entirely and also the blood sugar thing is more from a not feeling terrible perspective than a health one (although obviously the two are heavily interlinked)
>basically doing a low calorie keto diet
effectively yeah. I wouldnt reccomend it all the time but if ur going a few days at a time on just sugar anyway it'd be better to replace it with cheese or meat.
try to make sure ur calories don't go below like 1500 for more than 1-2 days at a time also as that's how you end up in hospital.
if ur already fairly skinny id advise you to try and ramp up both your exersize and caloric intake to increase your metabolic rate and stop starving yourself.
>why would i be in pain after exerting myself a bit?
lole that's just a thing that happens after exersize, especially if you aren't exersizing reguarly.
the amount of exersize you did wasnt a shit ton but you did it out of nowhere and on an empty stomach so should expect to get some aches and pains.

>keto diet
If you basically never have carbs - complex or simple - then yes. It doesn't take much at all to keep you out of ketosis.
Morbin Time curiosity: why are you doing blood tests all the time?

Speaking of low calorie keto diets (or... the opposite of that), the Big Squishy Bastard just tried to give me shit for yelling at my neighbour's cat. I'm catsitting today, and Pepperoni just came in like a builtfat albino bullet for the BSB's pork tenderloins, roasted endive-squash salad and rice, so I raised my voice at him "Catzilla! Leave the people of Tokyo alone! Nobody wants your paws destroying their fucking pigs n rizzos you turd."
"That's not very nice. He's just a hungry little boy."
"He's a 14 pound monster who sheds directly into my eyeballs, and he's eyefucking your rizzos."
"Wait... rizzos? You're adorable. Stop yelling at the cat."
"Never, and we can't both be adorable. One of us is going to have to change."

Maybe the change we need is cardio, heavy lifting, and a low-carb diet?

you can't be cycling very hard then. even when I was capable of cycling like 50 miles in a couple hours id get sore legs if I pushed myself.

i will need to soon enough. once the thing arrives its 100% a requirement. gaining weight before it only makes things more difficult later on though.
>but like of actual food not just sugar and snacks.
sadly those are not very calorie dense and i get full very very quickly. half a plate of pasta and i can't anymore. i just don't really feel the urge to eat which is also why i can pull of shit like this
>you can't be cycling very hard then
will do a lot more from now on. and with the mountain there is some actual resistance to fight now. dunno if you need that for cardio though but i will cuz its fun

>dunno if you need that for cardio though but i will cuz its fun
you don't but yeah its fun. might be good to also cycle longer distances on flat ground to build endurance.
>>24431041
it very much does, ketosis is a backup way for ur body to get energy, muscles work a lot better if you don't have depeleted glycogen this is why pratically all pro atheletes carb load.
its not a massive difference so it dosent matter in day to day life but for anything competative you'd be at a disadvantage if ur in ketosis.

I call him Sherman when he's being particularly aggressive about snuggles... because he is a sherman tank. Like as I was typing this, he just jumped directly from the floor onto the me-height cabinet his bed's on so he could give me his stupid baby meows... No reason for it - there's a clear, cat-friendly path up there - he just enjoys being a monster.

A Hemingway daiquiri is what happens when you take the lime and the sugar out of a daiquiri and replace it with grapefruit and loathing. The BSB didn't know what it was either, so I experimented upon him... He took a splash of simple syrup in his.

>>24431041
One you're used to it / not relying on quick glucogen to glucose conversion, sure. That first month or two though, you're used to using glucogen as an overdrive, and it's not really there anymore. Fat to glycerol/triglyceride to glucose conversion is exactly the goal, but it takes forever. From my own experience trying and failing, I can bench 250 for 10 reps no problem. I do 20-25 when I feel like I've been losing muscle or feel like a lil bitch. Three weeks into super-low carb intake, I had to set the machine to 200, and 10 reps was a struggle. The lactic acid burn kicked in fast and hard, and I just didn't have that immediate 'oh, the idiot's lifting heavy shit for no reason again' boost. Had it been freeweights and an actual potentially dangerous situation, adrenaline might have gotten the bar back into the J hooks... might not have.

yes and don't worry, its not something to be concerned about with what i am doing.
>stomach has shrunk
it has always been like this though so it didn't shrink but was like this from the start. sorta think like its mostly in my head also
>you don't but yeah its fun
def need new tyres and a helmet though. on the way down i had one or two dangerous moments. couple of roots and railroad tracks make your bike bounce around and then its also offroad so breaking almost doesn't work :x
but its fun when its not so sketchy! its like a amusement park ride where all you need to do is steer. way up though is partially easier to do on foot though
>might be good to also cycle longer distances on flat ground to build endurance.
that's what i usually do bit its sorta boring around here.
the mountain route has a lot of potential around it but its a very new area to me so i dunno how to min max distance over there. just the ride to it is like 10 km so there's some distance anyways

its always so funny when pets just decide to be a menace lol
>replace it with grapefruit
ohh I see. yeah be careful serving those to ppl as grapefruit interacts badly with a staggering amount of different medicines and drugs. mixed with alcohol could mess some ppl up pretty badly
>not relying on quick glucogen to glucose conversion
pretty sure that gluconeogenesis is inherently less efficient. if u have been lifting a certain weight while in ketosis and u have some carbs your lifts will go up pretty much instantly. I think this is also impacted by an increased amount of water present in the muscle improving leverage.
>>24432518
>its not something to be concerned about
hmm if u say so. the whole thing is concerning but I'm guessing you've done adequate research.
>sorta think like its mostly in my head also
yeah probably but stomachs do shrink or stretch based on how much you usually. eat.
>offroad so breaking almost doesn't work
it know the feeling, ur only choices are rolling or sliding xD
good disk brakes do help a bit but if there's no traction you won't slow down much.

I spent like 5 hours talking to ppl I hardly knew. it was lovely and they were all sound cunts but I'm happy to be home alone again. in bed drinking soda water watching ds9.
its nice that likeminded ppl exist and i can fumble my way through social situations without feeling like a weirdo but my social battery is pretty small while 'sober' and i don't intend to start drinking again.

Glad you had a good time man... might join you with the DS9. The BSB is wiped, and so am I (still). I just told him to get a solid coma in. He'll still probably show up, but if he does, very much sleepy times.
>social battery is pretty small while 'sober'
I hear you there... I've got a handful of recovering friends who I can't hang out with one-on-one without a lot of caffeine - turns out there's something about me that makes them nervous and want to drink too.
>don't intend to start drinking again
If it's a net negative, absolutely stay away from the shit. Anything really. I feel kind of gross using alcohol and weed as social crutches the way I do, and even that's almost never getting drunk. If I feel that I NEED a smoke, I won't. I don't like relying on people, and I certainly don't like relying on substances... Weirded out my doctor the last time I shit myself up lol.
>I know you said the morphine made you feel ill. Did you even bother with the T3s?
>I took one. It came back up. I just tried not to focus on the pain.
>I'd prescribe you some hydromorphone, but would you even pick it up? There's Celebrex... Look, take some Advil at least. I can tell you're not eating.
>>
>>24460641
>might join you with the DS9
nice :) hope the BSB gets some sleep weather its at his or with u.
>makes them nervous and want to drink too.
luckily for me I'm more recovered then recovering lol. no matter what the situation I never feel the desire to drink.
I've found also allowing myself to use soft drugs completely negates ever wanting to use hard ones. I can even take codeine without it triggering me to want to go score some skag.
>certainly don't like relying on substances
yeah man that shit sucks. but I'm confident ill never want to go back to being that way which is why I allow myself to have a smoke or whatever because I know it won't make me wanna relapse. idk if I'm making sense with this one but hopefully u get what I mean, I'm only interested in substances if they will be a net positive.
>I'd prescribe you some hydromorphone
id stick to the morphine lol. synthetics kinda suck. I guess they are less likely to make u puke tho.

It's mild chronic pain now, but it was a pretty good injury at the time. Nothing to go into in the comfy thread, I don't think, but the x-ray told a much more grisly story than a visual inspection - luckily the visual inspection.

yeah u can always just go meet new people :) its always daunting at first but if u just sorta throw yourself into it and try then ppl with shared interests or opinions will be happy to share contact details and u can see them again and it'll be easier the next times you see them as they will not be strangers anymore.
>comfy
:)
>>24460718
ooft that dosent sound fun. if they offer u opioids again go for shit like morphine or codeine instead of synthetics because they aren't pushed as hard by big pharma so the doctor won't give u unnecessary amounts. if u find they make u puke ask for an anti-emitic or smoke some grass.
avoid nicotine or cold water especially in combination that always sets off the puking. when I used to do brown i quickly learned not to drink water then smoke a cig in quick succession as it always led to projectile whitey xD
