The pandemic exposed weak points in public health and sanitation practices, such as self serve at restaurants. A shared condiment pump is a massive risk for infection, just one infected pump user coughing or sneezing (or just touching it) exposes every subsequent user to infection. Self serve was a mistake that was rightly corrected. The added benefit is it protects you from people who have chronically poop covered hands.
The other thing that was good was getting rid of reusable menus. Either QR code or disposable print menus. Reusing menus that someone already pawed through with their virus/poop covered hands when you're already seated at the table is awful. It's a shame they came back but corporations are greedy and maintaining a menu site or printing new menus is more costly than handing out the same old crusty menu.
