Are you gonna use a traditional raccoon penis bone?
I'm invested in the process either way

Ingredients.

Mashing the first 5 gallons.

My guess is the cereal is done with. The sugar extraction when it breaks up. I hope the carbs provide something for the yeast to chew on.
>>
Mash is done. Breakfast cereal added the color, I hope none of the kitchen sink cheap fruit and sugar foods had anything that will kill my yeast. Boiled the devil out of it all so we will have to see. Turbo yeast is tuff stuff and the excessive head space should stop boil over when it gets frothy and mad tomorrow. Needs to cook a while as heat will fuck the yeast. Outside temps are perfect at the moment so it will sit outside tonight with cracked lids. A few more pics before bed.

They are partly blended but that won't matter as they will get fully mixed in the pot.
>>

>kitchen sink cheap fruit and sugar foods
Yeah those will definitely have some preservatives, but the turbo yeast should have enough nutrients to overpower that. If not, be prepared to add some more along with plenty of yeast nutrient, that should fix it.
>>
>>21906310
That's my thinking. I want to be old-school and go buy the hog food grade food waist but most places don't sale it anymore if you just say want a one time deal. Waist is BS when you have rednecks like me.
>>
>>21906329
You may get some off flavors from yeast stress, but if you're distilling this that shouldn't really matter much.
>>
>>21906333
Checked.
> Yeast stress.
Yeast is the one thing I have really too little knowledge of.

>using all this and turbo yeast
Why? Turbo yeast is for sugar plus water.

The fuck is actually wrong with this board?

The the fuck is wrong with this board?
>>
>>21906377
No.... No it isn't.
>>
>>21906384
Turbo yeast is just yeast plus a bunch of nutrients so it can survive in pure water sugar solution.
>>
>>21906386
Again no. Turbo is a complete nutrients blend but it's also a specific yeast strain suitable for the rapid increase in alcohol content. Yeast bread for alcohol production and not really what you want for most things as flavor is somewhat sacrificed. You some how know less about yeast than me.
>>
>>21906386
You are talking about any ready to use yeast blend. Turbo blends are different.

Was gonna participate ITT because I used to make moon shine with my grandfather rest his soul but you are using cereal so I'll pass. Good luck.

This batch is just every sugar food I could find on discount. Sorry I don't have the space to sour mash. If you can't distill on anything idk if you are a moonshiner, maybe a home distiller but not a moon shiner. Next batch I'm getting buckets of honey buns from the bread store.

It's not significantly different from regular high-alcohol yeast and you're making your wash significantly shittier compared to using something like picrel or just straight bayanus retard
And btw bread yeast wash is significantly better than turbo yeast. Turbo yeast gives you just about the shittiest wash possible with regards to taste and smell.

> It's not different
> It is different.
Thanks for the info though I do need to upgrade, I am usually just very time constrained so have to use the quick fix shit. Really though thank you.
>>
>>21906417
The difference in taste and smell is mostly from the nutrients and other shit in the turbo yeast blend
>>
>>21906413
i wonder how economical that really is. what's the cost per kg of sugar across that stuff compared to just buying sugar? Sugar also isn't full of vitamin C/etc.
>>
>>21906430
Used too it was cheaper, a lot as it was hog feed prices they wanted it hauled away more than anything. Not so much anymore.
Then it was also cheaper because it meant not buying fruit for nutrition.
Now I guess I want to do it to be like the old heads more than anything, I can get bulk sugar for less than a buck a lb. But guess I then also need fruit so to some degree getting seconds might still be worth it for part of it. I need a manager and a press too soon.
>>
>>21906419
So different is the point. But yes lower in end result, also something I pointed out. We are in complete agreement.
>>
>>21906430
NTA but you can't beat sugar, it's crazy cheap. Grain only beats it on large scale production.
>>
Yeast is bubbly and happy this morning.
>>
>>21906381
Clearly you’re not familiar with the traditions

>>21906052
Hell yeah, i hope it comes out good
>>
>>21907174
So far so good. Yeast is doing good. Could be rolling harder.
>>
Posting crimes on 4chan?
Ok anon good luck.
>>
>>21907697
He’s using fucking fruity pebbles for the mash. We’re talking some real bathtub liquor here kek. I’m pretty sure even the poor just use corn or some other grain.
What the fuck is going on here?
>>
>>21907714
For corn you need cracked corn boiled or germinated grain. It's been said a few times here but it's about accessing sugar, flavor and the other parts of the grain that will feed the yeast. Back in the day it was the stuff the grocery store was going to throw out, now it's the cheapest shit at the grocery store on markdown.
>>
>>21907714
In all fairness home distilling has always been about using junk at hand to make useless produce into useable booze. Probably won't transfer any flavor but let OP cook.
>>
I wish Australia's law was like New Zealand's
I'd be distilling all the time if it were
It fucking sucks how all homebrew stores sell stills, flavourings, turbo yeast, tell you you can make spirits with their products, etc but it's technically illegal
>>
>>21907824
Its technically illegal in the US because you need a license to sale it and then pay the taxes. For personal use it's fine.
I think you have to get someone's attention for it to be illegal in practice.
>>
>>21907824
The fun of moonshining is that it's a little bit illegal. Don't be a pussy anon.
>>
Both buckets popped in transport. Scared the shit out of me. Didn't realize the lids closed all the way round when I slapped them on.

This says a lot about society, frankly it takes a lot of being drunk to rule the world.
>>
OP, I just want youbto know that you are dangerously based and this is an excellent thread I will be monitering the progress of. Is there any flavor you're aiming for or are you along for the ride with the rest of us?
>>
>>21910132
As long as I get some flavor. I'm at Lowe's now picking up some parts for my condenser so I can fire this thing up around 9pm.
>>
>>
We are rolling.
Won't post much till it's blend time.
>>
>>21910772
nice work moonshine anon.
