>>

Is cheval tartare a thing? Where are you? I had horse sausage in Moscow and pferd in Germany long time ago, or was it Ross? IDK. Been a long time .
>>
>>21907337
yes its actually really good and mincing that fine is one of the best ways to deal with the inherent toughness, im in western canada but my butcher carries horse from quebec since its actually popular there

I'm in Montreal, that's from Jean Talon. Going to get some and see what it's like.

>>21907354
No Prince noir boucherie is where the picture is from, but I'll check that out also

>I'm in Montreal, that's from Jean Talon. Going to get some and see what it's like.
I'm also from Montreal. I had no idea we have horse here. I wouldn't try it just because it kind of freaks me out, but what other exotic meats do you recommend?
>>
>>21907999
horse is not exotic meat
>>
>>21908007
You know what it mean, don't be pedantic. Just uncommon meats
>>
>>21908009
it's really common, don't be stupid
>>
>>21908010
stop being a dick you obviously get what he means lol - people don't really eat horse that much in US/Canada

>>21907311
You can make it into sfilacci (or buy it in that form in this case, idk if they sell it like that where you are) and then use it in all sorts of pastas, or even make a horse ragu if you want to be very simple with it but I feel like it is kind of a given that you can make a ragu sauce with a meat lol. You could also make a stew with it!
>>
>>21908022
>people don't really eat horse that much in US/Canada
why would third world cunts be my problem?
>>
>>21908023
What if you posted a horse recipe instead of being a huge fag
>>
>>21908024
stop malding, also not my problem
>>
>>21908025
I guess it's not really your problem it's just the topic of the thread, that's all man, chill out
>>
>>21908010
You're just being a jerk on purpose. You know exactly what i meant and now we're in an autistic argument. Horse meat is not common here. Not at all.
>>
>>21908024
take ANY recipe for ANY meat, and instead of the meat, use horse meat. VIOLA!
>>
>>21908030
horse meat is really common here, like at all.
stop being retarded unwittingly.

>>
>>21908049
Maybe for brown people but normal people don't fucking eat horse. You're the one being retarded. I dont know a single person who's eaten horse.
>>
>>21908247
>Maybe for brown people
Clearly that anon is not amerimutt

You're not going to get much advice about cooking horse from a website hosted in a country where that isn't normal.
>>
Horse is cooked the exact same ways as beef

That's it, there's no special recipe
>>
I've only had horse jerky and cured pastrami kind of thing. It is good.
>>
>>21907311
Bavette de cheval à l'ail, saignante.
>>
It used to be very common here when I was a kid, but the new generations don't seem to eat it anymore.
I'm lucky to find a steak or sausage.
Usually I'll just bake it with some onions and eat it with applesauce. Just out of nostalgia because that's how I got it as a kid
>>
>>21908320
Sorry, anon, I've only had Szekely horse sosig, never had the actual raw meat available.
>>
>>21908320
What do you want you clown, horse is basically lean beef. There are no "special horse recipes".
>>
Horse butcher shop in France.
>>
>>21908247
Americans would eat the shit out of horse if it wasn't pumped chock full of steroids and hormones
That's the reason it's not sold, not that the meat is bad
I mean, it's not as good as beef, for sure, but it's not gross or anything

dude no joke every big store has it but its all from the same company and the packages are really small. Its either ground or a chunk in a 10" long package by like 5". nothing on it to show its horse, you need to really look at the package.

I dont like it, it tastes purely like iron sure the added roids are great and all. But yeah its literally like eating steel wool so fucking strong in iron taste its unreal.

There is also a really popular butcher in the plateau that carries a bunch of odd meat
>>
>>21909518
>lasagne
jhaving one lasagna isn't enough for you?
fat fuck
>>
>>21908840
horse isn't sold in the US because horses are viewed as work animals or pets similar to dogs
>>
>>21909831
No, it's full of hormones and steroids
Most horses are used by the pharmaceutical industry they aren't pets
>>
>>21909846
>No, it's full of hormones and steroids
but enough about american beef
>>
>>21909914
I tested positive for tren and something else after eating horse meat lmao
These are roided out race horses sent to the glue factory
>>
>>21909978
yeh it's genuinely sad how dogshit american meat is and how happy the amerimutt is with it
>>
>>21909803
based one sheet of lasagna enjoyer. spread the word.
>>21907311
polenta biancoperla, mirepoix, bouquet garni and a good Valpolicella. that's all you need.
>>
>>21909518
I made some once, it was a complete waste of horse meat, because the spices covered up all the flavor. I wonder if I should try turkey lasagna, because ground turkey smells absolutely vile on its own.
>>
>>21908834
How much would it cost to buy a whole horse for butchering, much in the same way that some ppl buy a young calf for it to be butchered when it grows up?
