When I cook chicken breast in a pan I season it with crushed red pepper. People in the house complain that it makes it hard to breathe in the kitchen and cough a lot when I do this. Am I doing something wrong, or this just part of cooking with crushed red pepper?

Are you coating the entire breast in red pepper flakes? When they burn, they smell and taste acrid. If you like that flavor, grind the flakes up with some regular pepper and other spices.

there is no point in adding crushed red pepper to something BEFORE cooking, add it after the chicken is done idiot
cooking dried red pepper will change nothing about it

flavor of the pepper will infuse into the cooking oil and coat the chicken as you turn it in oil.

Only poor people with defective taste buds use this. You are a selfish prick.

no
the pepper flakes are DRIED
if you were using fresh peppers the oils would get into the oil like chili crisp oil but the dried shit in a shaker like that will DO NOTHING other than burn

That's what happens when you pan fry peppers. Make sure to turn the fan on, open windows and ventilate the kitchen properly out of respect for the other people living in the house.

quads of truth. some seasonings and spices burn and need to be used accordingly.

it's normal. Some of the capsaicin manages to form an aerosol I suppose, ventilate well, consider making chili oil to avoid this and only add flakes at the end

otherwise just ventilate

in many white countries people who get upset at spices tend to be poor and uneducated. In countries that aren't it's usually an autistic rejection of any food that deviates from what they grew up with.

Very few people are aware of this, but you're supposed to rehydrate dried peppers if you're using them in some sort of low-moisture dish.
