i dont think the chances for parasites are that high
however, shrimp do occasionally swallow sand, which can be a bit unpleasant

you wouldnt have needed knives nor needles for this if you hadnt been eating so much that your fingers magically turned into sausages

What do you think soy sauce is made from?

>my way is faster and easier
you're saying that fiddling around with a sharp object near your fingertips, to remove a string that is ~2mm thick and easily breaks apart, is better than using your fingers
try it
if you dont like getting your fingers dirty, just keep an open container of water nearby for rinsing your paws and/or tentacles

You cant cut yourself if you do it right you split the shell or butterfly the shrimp and expose the vein then you can tip the vein with your knife by the tail to remove it. Move the shrimp when you cut not the knife you cant fuck up unless you are retarded or high.

>you cant fuck up unless you are retarded or high
>split the shell or butterfly the shrimp
..
- get the head off
- rip off the top three shell segments (upwards towards the head) - it's the end of the thorax, so it's easy to find and lift
- the legs follow along with the shell you pull off, as you know
- then pull the rest of the tail off
- deveining: pull off the meat that covers the "vein" (head to tail), pull or brush away the "vein" - rinse if desired
no knife needed
again, i advise you to give it a try
using a knife instantly adds more complexity and an intrinsically hazardous element

Ive peeled more shrimp than youve ever seen and at a higher level than you can achieve. You can clean a shrimp in two movements if you are good the faster you are the fresher it is just trust me negro. The head doesnt count no one buys shrimp heads if they arent gonna cook them.

okay so you've never bought unpeeled shrimp with the head still attached - which is literally every shrimp i've ever bought (except for the ones that get mangled during processing), and i've never eaten shrimp heads.
i can clean a small shrimp in three movements, including the head, without needing utensils -
worst case is two and a half seconds
the technique is grabbing and pulling, not cutting - if i was a negro, i'd have already cut myself while peeling shrimp
>the faster you are the fresher
okay if freshness when preparing shrimp is important:
butterflying a shrimp exposes more meat to whatever gnarly shit is in the kitchen you're working in + shrimp without heads are less fresh
and you can still be faster without using a knife
i'm trying to help you here

Where are the health reports?
>red meat: MUH CANCERS AND SHIET
>white meat: MUH SALMANILLOS AND SHIET
>shrimp excrement: *crickets*
(but then again, methinks this is why some people have shrimp allergies; it's the poop.)
