Find meaning in a stagnant life (restore Caine, try to alter him to be better, which might be a digital lobotomy and morally fucked up, or you might screw up and condemn yourselves to a real AM) or exit the stagnant life (everyone kills themselves by shutting off the simulation, releasing the abstracted from torment and preventing anyone else from being stuck, at the expense of their lives).
Your choices are risking hell or being a fucking monster by mind raping an abused, confused and neglected electronic child for the chance at heaven, or killing yourself to stop the pain. Good luck Pomni, make the right choice!

Why do you think the system was bending over backwards to get Kinger to delete him?
He faked his death.
He's pretending he's deleted. He's pretending all the NPCs are deleted.
He wants to see how everyone would talk about him it they think he's really gone.
He wants everyone to know how awful it would be without him.
He'll pop back in to restore order at the last minute, undercutting whatever Jax manifestation plot there is.

The finale can be saved if Goose just goes balls to the wall and have it just be as dry and depressing as possible or with something like a digital suicide esque ending. Just full tonal shift into the fucking ground from the goofyness that balanced out the darker moments of prior episodes.

>Ragatha stood there, the faintest hint of a smile crept onto her face, waiting for him to accept it... to accept her?
>"Uhh, hey... what do you intend to do w-with that? hahaha..." (You) said, even more nervous than ever before, but (You) stopped wringing your hands and wrists before you heard her answer
>"I just want to hold your hand, let you know that I am here for you, and that you're here for me too..." she spoke even more softly (if such a thing were even possible)
>"Honest?" (You) say quickly
>"Honest." Ragatha replied in kind
>You grab her, by the forearm instead of her hand, slightly pulling her toward you
>"You know, this is how people back then shook hands, to check if the other person had a knife, dagger or some of those crossbows underneath their cloak." (a balestrino, for you unenlightened lot)
>"Hmm... you are a strange duck, but 'I' like it, hehe."
>Ragatha reciprocated the antiquainted gesture and grabbed (You) by the forearm
>"We must have a long way to go if we can't trust each other enough not to stab each other in the backs with our 'daggers, knives and crossbows'." she said, in a mildly amused tone
>"Yeah, but I think in time... we'll get there. Oh, did you want to leave or do you want to still help me clean my room?" (You) asked, hoping for a "yes"
>"I'd love to help!" she excitedly proclaimed

Never been to a cinemark but the one i preordered my tickets from had very few seats and was sold out within a couple hours of going live. I'm guessing yours is much larger, but if it sold out within hours like mine did then you might only be surrounded by hardcore fans. The standard theater you're considering might possibly have randoms or loud normgroids.

The entire series has telegraphed that the bond you forge with others must be cherished and to disregard white whales like trying to escape the circus. The next logical endpoint is to accept that the circus is dying and there is no point in trying to stop it but to instead cherish what fleeting moments you have with others.

I doubt Goose will do that. The entire trajectory of the series is to accept the uncontrollable or inevitable and to bond with others in spite of dire circumstances. I don't Goose's idea of miserable or experimental will be them bringing back Caine or the circus as that is a clear and obvious solution to the big problem.

Hey guys, I just marathoned this series like 3 days ago or so?
Then I figured to check if there's a thread for this series around here and to my surprise, it's right here.
Now, I'm just wondering here, it's more like a confirmation sort of deal but if time seems to be progressing normally in the outside world, with people joining years after in the digital world, that means their physical bodies aren't really "alive", are they?
Not even going by cartoon logic but, they have no ways to nourish themselves or do anything else for years, so the likelihood of a copy of their subconscious being uploaded with no way out seems the payout waiting to happen.
It's what Scratch's project was about, something to do with managing to live on despite having a deadly tumor in his brain so he wouldn't just die off but since it was a project, it could be prone to failure wgerd abstraction would occur, with their own data getting corrupted to this point.
Or, am I talking out of my ass and missed something along the way?
>>
>The final episode is just an hour of Jax and Pomni having sex while everyone else stands around feeling awkward because they don't know what to say (except Kinger, he's cheering for both of them).
Did you like It?
>>
>>153239422
The entire trajectory of the series is about clawing yourself out of the pit of despair and finding value in the struggle of existence (through others). Not giving up and embracing non-existence (literally what Jax was doing at his lowest point, literally Pomni’s lowest point in episode 2). Suicide may be discussed as a possibility but can never ever be the resolution to this series and be thematically coherent.
>>
>>153239453
No one actually knows. The main implication though is that they are copies of whoever puts on the headset Kinger has stated it makes no sense to be able to leave the cricus and the fact Caine is able to alter their personalitys and memorys directly.

The main theories are Tron, where they are zapped into the computer like Digimon and Soma, where the people we know are just brain clones and their real bodies are out there somewhere living their own lives. It’s a very hotly debated topic. Pod theory was also popular before the show lampshaded it.
>>
I think all existentialist media just doesn’t work when we live in niggerhell world. There is quite literally nothing to get up out of bed for. Maybe 100 years ago when the world seemed to be actually progressing and heading to an upwards trajectory. But now? There’s fucking NOTHING.

>It was another Whooppee cushion of course, the things underneath the floorboards were impossible to see.
>"Yeah... someone light a match... smells like a paper mill in here." (You) say, flatly, cringing with her
>Pomni outside heard this extremely bizarre dialogue between these two
>"Just what the f[*%&$] are these two... what in the world..."
>"Let's just hope and pray that was the last one, for real this time."
>"Yeah, I'm starting to get tired being the 'butt' of the joke." she spat out
>"If it makes you feel any better, I didn't laugh that time, but because I don't say it, don't mean I ain't thinkin' it."
>"Hmmmph, yeah, I feel a lot better now that I know." she said, in a low monotone
>A tall shadow appeared at the other end of the hall and ran down to meet Pomni's peripheral vision
>"Jax..." Pomni thought to herself
>at last, our perpertator of many awkward moments has appeared, he took sight of Pomni, back against the wall, and he intuit it instantly, the situation
>in a single bound, Jax lept all the way to the corner of the doorway, landing silently, opposite to the side that Pomni was at
>"Pssst, Pomini, what's so interesting inside the new guy's room? And also what did I miss?" he whispered
>"Jax, you practically instigated a panic attack when Ragatha stepped on one of those dumb whoopee cushions." she snapped, quietly of couse
>"Gee, I'm that good, huh?" he gloated, with a big cheeky grin
>if looks could kill, then Pomni was wearing one that would make john wayne gacy blush, and it was directed at Jax
>he stopped grinning immediately, instead, he turned his head and bent his ears in a way to maximize audial acuity to whatever it was Pomni felt was interesting enough to eavesdrop on
>"So, Ragatha... besides stepping on fartbags, what do you like to do for fun?" (You) asked
>"Ha-ha-ha... very funny." She said, annoyed
>"But, I really loved to ride my horses, it was probably my favorite thing to do." she recollected, with sense of nostalgia

Ignore the text, but progress isn't linear. Your world might be in a dip, hell your entire fucking time on this earth might be spent in a dip. That doesn't mean the big picture won't continue upwards if you zoom out.
So fuck the dip, your immediate view of the big picture means nothing, because the big picture is too big for you to possibly comprehend. Fuck the whole graph of and focus on the graph of your actual life. Focus on what you can actually see. Not words in a news story, focus on your floor. Is it clean? Focus on the sky. Is it blue? Forget whether the world is worth living in, just do whatever small things you can to make your life worth living in.

I can only think it's due to Goose playfully stoking the flames early on, and the audience being too young/autistic to understand that it doesn't mean he literally deserves to die lol
Like he's a jerk but he really hasn't done anything THAT that bad
He's an actually kinda valid example of "Bojack Horseman is the one who has suffered the most because of the actions of Bojack Horseman." He's caused people stress, hurt, and anger, but he hasn't left anyone traumatised or dead
It's funny because typically damaged male characters like this attract a toxic audience of people who over-relate and excuse their terrible actions (which is part of why the writers of Bojack Horseman decided to make Bojack's actions more unambiguously bad and traumatising as the series went on), but I've only seen a couple of examples of that in this fandom. It feels like fans are over-correcting or something

Part of the MALE fantasy, like it's hardwire ever since prehistoric instincts, was the conquest of what seems unattainable.
I mean, it is pretty much nature speaking for yourself even when you try to deny it by painting yourself as something you're not.

Nah, assholes are cool if they have positive traits. Like Ash Williams or Han Solo. I was hoping Jax would be like that Cavalier guy who would complain and be a dick about everything but still was the reasonable and empathethic loyal friend. But jax was just a little oathethic crying bitch who was hiding behind a Chud edgy mask. There is no "cool" aspect in any of it. Just losers trying to self insert into something that isn't fat and interacting with a clussy and doll.
>>

Unfortunately because Jax was chosen as the finale focus character none of us can really form an informed opinion on his character because the meat of it is still being kept from us. Maybe Goose has something kino to show us, but the leadup has been exhausting.

Semiconductors open and close precisely when needed for binary code construction. Neurons fire electrical signals like a switch but do so often independantly of an actual function, meaning for every function in the nervous system there are billions of neurons that misfire for every billion that fire to carry out the function as intended. We won't ever see organic computing become the new paradigm as a result. It's vaporware.

Naturally if the situation is gigafucked in the end one of Anon’s goals will be to unfuck the timeline rather than the current plan which is him wanting to keep the timeline as accurate as possible but accidentally diverging it along the way. Anon’s awareness of the show itself plays a big part in how I see his place in the circus.

I more just relate to Jax and Ragatha. And oddly I'm realising, maybe just a dash of Zooble, with the cynical self-isolation and the ability to give advice while struggling to apply it to yourself
I'm impelled to make art, but sharing it makes me feel really weird, like I'm just offering people an opportunity to laugh/yell at me. I don't relate to Caine a whole lot, but holy fuck I felt so terrible for him when he got such a negative reaction throughout 7-8, and I didn't realise exactly why until I typed this out

Goose reposted this so I feel the ending will definitely be Jax trying to end the circus and deleting everyone vs everyone else rebooting Caine. But the fact she said it’s morally grey is interesting, as she always has gone on how awful Jax is, so it being morally grey implies he’s not entirely in the wrong for trying to end it all.
That being said if the point of the show is “accepting a stagnant life” I can’t see him succeeding in deleting everyone else. He may get turned into a slug IHNMAS style though, and the icky part is everyone else in the circus letting that happen for their own survival.

>"abloblobloblo he's such an asshole that he definitely raped someone before!"
No, this is an actual rapist. An abusive, power-hungry, narcissistic piece of shit that would throw even his best friend under the bus for power.
Jax is spelt for you as a bullied kid in fear of showing off his true self, so he lashes out as an asshole to others in fear of anyone of getting too attached, when Pomni was getting too close he had to back off. Yet, he feels miserable later, because he's obviously coping as "none of this is real so nothing matters". Caine plays off on his fear also, of being the one laughed at, being mocked, exposed.
Slander over shipping, misinterpreting the character just to push out your agenda, is flat-out mental illness.

The Twin Peaks makes a return.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>153240722
Twin Peaks is a show that ran from 1990 - 1991. It’s a hugely influential show that was a huge phenomena in the first season (“the” show) and also was huge in Japan (influential). It was co-created by David Lynch and Mark Frost. The show is strange but comfy, with an interesting web of characters and cool lore. Season 1 was a tight crowd pleasing season of TV, season 2 got freaky with it, bloated in a few places but still kino. Then it ended on a massive cliffhanger, and David Lynch more known for movies releases a movie, Fire Walk With Me, which everyone thought was going to wrap everything up as a sequel to the cliffhanger, instead it was a prequel. It’s also a masterpiece and tonally different than the show.
There is a famous line in the series where one character says to another mysteriously that they will see each other again in 25 years. Twin Peaks the Return released 25 years later and is the third season of Twin Peaks. It’s more Lynch than Frost (though it used some Frost lore) and is David Lynch’s magnum opus, going for broke with everything he’s done and more. Absolute pleb filter, wild decisions, insanity, yet also extremely critically successful. Each era of the show is very distinct, but “the return” implies no hand holding guns a blazing art before the audience kino. Would recommend the series.

Depends on the method at hand and who. Griefing a kid on minecraft by befriending him and then deleting the chunk he built his house on his pretty bad for instance, but using a riot shield to block a team mates fire in a CoD match because he screams down the mic everytime you do it is a different story.

>"Horse riding, huh? That's pretty cool, I always wanted to learn how but, well, the one time I "rode" a horse, a fella was pulling the horse along and that wasnt much fun at all. I felt like such a tool, and I was only 6!" (You) say, in a slightly humorous tone
>"Oh, I would just LOVE to teach you how to properly ride a horse! It's so much fun, just riding around a trail, the thundering of your horse's hooves pounding away at the dirt, the wind in your hair... I would just ride on for hours, until it got dark of course." she said, in a longingly sort of tone
"Yeah, one of the few things I was allowed to do at home besides studying or chores. Mother did not like video games or music that wasnt acoustic. Ugh that accursed Dean Martin, oh GOD how many times have I heard-"
>"Ain't that a kick in the head?" (You) interrupted
>"How did you know?" she asked
>"I didn't, that's probably the only song I know that he sang. Lucky guess, I suppose."
>"Yeah, it really was, heh."
>"What, your mother didn't like the one where he sang about pizza or whatever?"
>"Pfff, what?" Ragatha, she said, in a brighter tone now
>"You know, uhh 'when the moon hits your eye, like a great big pizza pie, that's amore!'" (You) sang out
>"Ohohoho, god! You are a terrible singer!" Ragatha, now chortling
>"I'm about as much of a singer as I am a kung-fu master, which is to say, not much."
>"You didn't have to tell me, I figured as much." she smugly replied
>"Would you rather I sang it to you?" (You) retorted
>"Oh brother, this guy is such a loser!" Jax whispered
>"Shh... I wanna hear this, Jax! Maybe you could learn a thing or two about talking to somebody." Pomni whispered back
>"Talk to somebody, like that? Like I'd eve- wait, do you want me to talk like that, to you?" Jax whispered accusingly
>Pomni only looked back at her "pal" in contempt
>"I'm gonna take that as a yes!" Jax smugly whispered
>"Oh, my 'Little-pizza-Pomni-pie, you!'"

>Why is it good
Sole directorial feature by an acclaimed actor, in love with silent cinema and wanted to create a talkie that harnessed what he thought was a lost visual art. It’s a dreamlike/nightmarish film that’s steeped in depression era rural Americana iconography and deals with the concepts of good and evil, love and hate, and the plight of innocent children. It’s a striking American fairy tale with teeth.

I know Caine had to do it because he was scared and paranoid Gummigoo would've started learning too much and doing to Caine what Caine did the Abel

Jax is a textbook psychopath. As in he demonstrates every psychopathic trait there is. A lot of people who relates to him without realizing that probably have some manner of undiagnosed psychopathic tendencies, which is made apparent by the way a lot of them act. That's it, it's not that deep.

I have an associate degree, yes, but I learned a lot more about it just by reading books and so could you. You could start with Carl Jung and Bessel van der Kolk and go from there. If Jax participated in a PCL-R he definitely would get diagnosed. Maybe saying he fits every trait was an exaggeration, but he fits a lot of them, at least.
>>153241201
Psychopaths can and do experience internal conflict, something resembling regret, and feelings adjacent to attachment. They're not defined as "someone with no feelings." However, what looks like genuine regret and conflict in those scenes is better understood as Jax being uncomfortable with losing control of a situation and being unexpectedly confronted with something that threatened his self-image, not deep empathic pain, although there was some concern as well when he tried to play off one of his statements as a joke.

Kaufmo (and Ribbit)'s song:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_2j1ohHuSo
>>153241304
Clearly, but they kind of worked backwards into something that made sense of all that. I get the impression, from the flashes we get from Jax and his insecuriti, that Ribbit and Kaufmo were a lot closer to each other than they were to Jax, but there was nobody closer to Jax than them. With Ribbit abstracted, and everyone in the Circus getting pretty worn down into their archetypes by the time Pomni arrived, Kaufmo didn't really have anything left. They also seemed to know he was close to abstracting and just left him to it, because it was easier on them than trying to pull him out of it. Poor fucking guy. The circus was pure hell before Pomni, the emotional anchor, came into it. At least she restored a buffer of care, beyond Ragatha's completely forced and superficial version of it she was left with after years, between them and the existential horror.

looked it up and this seems interesting.
anyway if anyone wants to read fun fantasy kino thats easily digestable, i suggest looking up "every adventure needs a weapon"
fun cute blacksmith girl fantasy and the author even expands upon the world in the end of the chapters

Anyone who says Kevin Sorbo can't act needs to watch it to see actual bad actors. He was 49 in that movie and looked amazing though. American comedy makes me want to kill myself, this is aggressively American jew comedy

kaufmo was originally planned to be in the show but was removed and probably rolled into ragatha. i think that explains a lot of the strange past relationship tension around jax and raggy that goes no where.

When "Abel" drew up the plans/schematics it had big chambers that a person could be in that'd probably keep the person in stasis and handle needs.
I don't know why people think it's only SOMA or Tron where it's either only a brainscan copy, or they were digitized, and not that it's a matrix situation where they're just in a pod being kept alive.
Abel was most likely just "Pretending" but Caine likely "knows" the cast is in a stasis pod and keeps tabs on their vitals, and so just took that and put it into Abel's plan because it "Made sense" even if he smudged the details.

Honestly one of the reasons why I don’t watch stuff that’s old that’s also considered to be this cult classic is because they’re all made for it’s time and I feel like I am larping if I do watch it. Does anyone else feel like this kinda? The feelings the strongest in me when it’s like homestuck or undertale or any of that shit.

Ragatha
"Wow Pomni, no visible panty lines, how did you manage it"
Pomni
"Oh, i'm not wearing any"
"Oh my god, Pomni, that's so inapp"
"oh, nonono, i'm wearing compression tights"
"without... panties?"
"yeah... you're not supposed to wear underwear under the compression tights"
"Oh... that explains a lot"
"what"
"uh, never mind"
what

Yeah, I think that's valid. Like I'm a huge Seinfeld fan because I grew up with it when it was unprecedented, but after finally bullying a friend into watching it in Current Era and being greatly disappointed to hear they were unimpressed, I realised that "great in it's time" isn't the same as "timeless"

The problem is Kinger's response to Abel's claim to knowing how to leave was "that makes no sense". It implies there is something about him and the crew which would make the idea of leaving the digital world to be preposterous (like them being digital copies)

That's not valid at all, it's completely pathetic. You are completely possessed by the spirit of your times which means you have no communion with the spirit of your depths. But it's not your fault, that's what happens when your culture was stolen out from under you.

It's a nice song beautifully sung, but I feel like songs like this are kinda fucked up for kids lol. At best it's a huge guilt trip for not giving your toys equal attention, and at worst it's like "hey kid, if your parents don't love you you're worthless"

I always assumed it was in response to their method ("Finding a way out" behind Caine's back), given he doesn't naysay anything in 9. Of course, once he hears "Abel" he knows something's wrong. Then in 9 he's distraught about deleting Caine rather than just rebooting him/fixing him.
