I think Ragatha's purpose in the show is to be the person who holds the group together. She stops Jax and Zooble from fighting in episode 7 and she starts the group handhold. She spends episode 8 being one of the first, if not the first, to back up Pomni.

A second purpose of maybe being Pomni's best friend. Pomni spends a lot of the show around Ragatha, especially in 7 and 8. Ragatha is the first Pomni goes to about Gummigoo, Ragatha is the first person Pomni applies Kinger's episode 3 advice to (advice that probably came from Kinger's experience with Ragatha), Pomni wanting to be with Ragatha instead of Kinger and Jax in 6. Episode 8 really feels like it beats you over the head of how much Pomni listens to Ragatha. Being cynical, it kind of feels like Goose felt like she fucked up not showing the ragapom talk and just threw that end there to try and make up for it.

We've known for a long time that it was only going to have 9 episodes. Thinking there'll be any more after this is just being in denial, probably because you bought merch and hype-fixated on it, letting it take-up way too much of your life instead of just watching an episode then doing something else until the next episode is out. It's been a big enough part of your life that you can't just let it end. That's what makes it parasocial.

Animation itself doesn't really make any money, it's basically just advertising for merch. It's why there's as many merch ads as there are episodes. Glitch figured that it's popular enough that they could sell the last episode as a theatrical release, but still release it for free a week later because they know there are people obsessed with it who will pay to see it two weeks early. If it were just episode 9 of 18, or something, they wouldn't really be likely to make a profit.
