Imagine if Kinger was alone on a deserted tropical island like Robinson Crusoe and then a 30 year old Ragatha appearead on the beach as his only companion. There would be no way they woudn't bond and Ragatha woudn't replace Queenie.

Ragatha having and complex and relatable aspect even if detestable would be better than nothing. She's like the most wasted potential in the story. As if she was frozen in time when she appearead in order to make Pomni a relevant character who moves the plot forward. Never trying to understand Jax, never trying to reach Kinger, never trying to really comfort Gangle. Oldest circus members beside Kinger and act more clueless than a newbie.

No it's Goose's fault for making everything hinder on Pomni's presence. Nobody figured out that Kinger is lucid in the dark before Pomni, despite Ragatha being pushed as his adopted daughter figure. Nobody knew anything about each other before Pomni arrived, not even what hobbies they enjoyed. Pomni has to be the one to save Jax so he and Ragatha just don't have a history besides "they don't like each other", even though you would reasonably expect Ragatha to have lots of experience with grief and loss since she's been there longer than he has. She just conveniently sucks at making friends and her resilience in general has just been ignored.

She's a very horrible person.

The more I think about it, the more annoyed I get about the lack of Ragatha focus in the past two episodes.
I'm not saying she needed more screentime or her own episode. I don't even mind that the show's finale is all about Jax and his mystery trauma. But if Goose wants to tell a story about Jax, why is Ragatha, the character that has known Jax the longest and has had the most on-screen conflict with him, getting shelved so hard? Jax and Ragatha have done nothing but argue since the first episode and it only kept escalating from there.
In episode 4, Ragatha told Jax "I hate you, but I don't want you to hate me."
In episode 5, Ragatha accidentally mentioned Ribbit's abstraction, lashed out at him during softball, and then guiltily apologized.
In episode 6, Ragatha confronted Jax about how he's "corrupting Pomni" and then cries to Kinger "I failed Pomni just like I failed Jax."
And then in episode 7 and 8, Ragatha faded into the background and did LITERALLY NOTHING FOR 30 MINUTES, TWICE. All the tension and frustration building up around her just vanished without getting resolved.
She had no reaction to Jax's personality shift from antagonist smartass to depressed loner. She had nothing to say about Jax pressing the button in Caine's office. She's had nothing to say to Pomni about Ribbit. There were multiple opportunities to use Ragatha's character to push the story in a Jax-centric direction, but instead she just got turned into a background character.

Am I missing something? Am I stupid for expecting Ragatha to have more significance? Why would someone intentionally write a character this way and waste their potential like this?

Feels like Goose started to think about the plot when she already created Pomni as part of the cast and didn't think much about continuity of what actually other did before she arrived. Its like with video games where your teen lvl 1 newbie starts his journey and then experienced older travelers join your team and are also lvl 1 for some reason.
