Friendly reminder, especially for newfriends: if someone posts about or recommends
>to wear more (classic) fougeres
>montale sandflowers
>9pm and flankers
>bruno banani energy
>interracial relationships
>fucking their german/white/aryan gf
>redheads
Or they make lengthy posts completely unrelated to fragrances and add "SOTD: [one of the frags above]", their posts are spam and you shouldn't take their opinions seriously.
Ignore them and/or report them for off topic posting, spamming/flooding or avatar/signature use.

I'd go with Supremacy CE, but either is fine really.
It might be slightly less common, but if people tend not to wear frags where you're from none of them is going to feel basic.
People will buy and large not be compelled to ask what you're wearing.

Usually prefer 'light and airy' scents that linger in the air and not so much protruding from my skin, any recs on similar ones from the same house?

Do you live in a greenhouse? Just find a spot where the sun doesn't hit. I have all my fragrances in the middle shelf of my closet, I need a stair display, I'm going to ask the cabinet maker next door if he can make it. If not I'll just buy and cut some wood.
>>
>>18655339
So long as they’re not in direct sunlight it shouldn’t be an issue. True, you can get some minor degree of additional degradation from scattered light that wouldn’t be present if kept in a drawer, but it should be so minimal as to be inconsequential.

Sauvage Elixir is a giga bvll move. It's a scent that demands a certain level of aura from its wearer. 6'+, 225lbs+, 30+ years old, 10 years minimum in the gym. It's not for boys or twinks. It's not for fags or queers. It's for men with the power to dictate the terms of the world around them. Cheap Arab clone wearers will cast down their eyes in shame in your presence, their blustery "beast mode" frags defanged and declawed. Women will melt around you, look for any excuse to sit next to you, give you a hug, lean in to whisper you a secret, for every breath they take teases their brain with the resplendent, seductive opulence and absolute sexual primacy that is second nature to the alpha bvll GOD. When wearing Sauvage Elixir, your touch alone can kill any male that earns under $80,000 per annum.
>>
Question for the thread -
How many of you that wear designer fragrances actually wear clothes from that designer?
Obviously frags are the most down-market, accessible item from designers, but it seems like anything above the frag level purchase is a massive jump up in price.
Picked up a silk shirt at a Nordstrom Rack a while back that is made by Dries Van Noten and the original price was $750.

Artificial light doesn’t have the same damaging properties as natural sunlight. It’s why you can get a sunburn from the Sun but not from (most) artificial light sources, like the ones you described in your post.

I only have 4 pieces of Ralph Lauren apparel passed down from my dad. I don't really match fragrance and clothes by their brand, I'm more of a mood autist meaning I'll wear something like YSL Tuxedo with semi/formal clothes and probably Azzaro if I'm going to bar with my friends.
My dad on the other hand likes Ralph Lauren so much he only wears Polo frags.

The only combo in my wardrobe is a limited edition of Light Blue and a mainline shirt in a completely different style.
My other frags are niche or arabshit, and most of my designer pieces are from designers that don't make frags.
>anything above the frag level is a massive jump in price
A Twilly costs less than a bottle of any Hermessence frag, and even if you don't count accessories it's easy enough to find designer pieces for good prices on the used market, but I don't think there's any relevance to that because frags from one or other brand live in a different realm than their clothes, they're targeted to a different audience, often made by a different company (L'Oreal, Estée Lauder, ...), and they don't have any more affinity to clothing from the same brand than to clothing from any other brand.

Ok so I have decided for the 5 decants I'm getting. They're all 2ml so I'll use each of them for little less than a week...but it feels kinda wasteful that I'm getting 10ml for almost the price of a cheapie 100ml one, experimenting sure is expensive. Decants are:
>Paco Rabanne Pour Homme
>Boss Bottled Night
>Spicebomb Extreme
Dunno if it's better to try base version before, you tell me
>Fico di Amalfi
>John Varvatos Artisan Blu
Lemme know if any of these are reduntant or if there are better options. Idea was to try 2 for summer, 2 for autumn and a fougere.

You went on a shopping spree and want to pretend you explored the history of perfumery and are more than another consumer drone. We're all consumers but there are more enduring and interesting ways to consume. You're not alone, there are many like you who bounce between fragrantica, youtube, and an e-commerce site thinking they are doing some deep diving when they are just doing what countless others do. It's no surprise your interest is so fleeting.

Another 13 is pretty cool. Very firmly synthetic but in a very sleek and pleasing way. It’s not obnoxious like BR540, just very light and with a very slight sweet floral character. Easily worn year round as it is very clean, but contains no notes that are traditionally seasonal. Would be suited for someone working in a cutting edge laboratory or at some sort of high concept office. Quite futuristic.
Still going to wear Rien again though, as nice as Another 13 is, it is not likely something that suits my lifestyle.

How do you use your samples? Even at 4 sprays per use thats like 5 uses. I usually do 2 on the back of my hand just to get a sense of the smell and that still gives me lots to use again for proper wears

Im in a few regional Facebook groups for fragrance exchange. They are longstanding, strictly and actively moderated, with many known and trusted decanters and high volume sellers. If you have any sort of internet scam detection ability you should have no trouble scouting trustworthy individuals to deal with. My 50+ decants and all but a few of my bottles are from there, never had an issue.
>but how do you know your decant is genuine?
Beyond “buying the seller”, just read a ton of reviews before committing to a decant so you know roughly what to expect from the fragrance and look for discrepancies from that as you use the sample. Dupes are never 1:1 so if notes seem missing or off, or a high end fragrance ends up smelling harsh or scratchy it’s probably a dupe. But the best thing to do is buy from established sellers.
>>
>>18656212
>How do you use your samples?
I usually do 2 or 4 sprays depending on the intensity. I'm not saying samples are bad, it just doesn't make sense for me to buy them. I have worn fragrances dozens of times that I still learn something new about. I wish 5 uses was enough for me to make up my mind but it's not.

>kenzo homme

Do you like Portrait of a Lady, or is that too sweet and heavy ambery for you? Would you like Dans Tes Bras, or is the violet too close to the iris in powdery? Oud wood? That's my train of thought. It's totally legit that you don't like classic fragrances and you have enough sweet scents but you end up drawing yourself into a corner when modern perfumes and date scents are often sweet. Good luck, hope you find something but most likely something will have to budge.

What's important is what you don't smell like. Avoid overused and immature fragrances like 1 million and sauvage, and avoid anything outdated or overly animalic. The MYSLF line is a mass appealing blank slate for her to say 'you smell good.' There is almost no personality to it. Women are not super objective fragrance autists, but there are picky women out there who dislike synthetic, basic designer stuff. For the most part they will always 'love' your cologne if you're attractive. On the other hand, if you wear something very good that she's never experienced before it can have a halo effect. This list is a good resource but take it with a grain of salt - https://www.fragrantica.com/awards2025/category/Women-s-Favorite-Men-s -Fragrance

if you just have a lot of curiosity and like to have frags to smell and getting the notes and learning to recognize scents, etc it's a great hobby; if you do it for others then it's not even a question: no, you should not 'get' into it because nobody cares

A friend of mine asked me why I have a collection of 5 frags, and as I explained to him that each is for one occasion or weather, he said "but how will people or your gf recognize your scent if you wear many scents" and I was bummed by how stupid that was. I don't fucking care if people recognize me or not I like to smell fresh when I'm out and about. Can't explain the vibe to someone who just doesn't get it.

I get what he is saying, I wear Kouros whenever I know I am going to have to deal with a few certain younger females for work once or twice a month.
When you open the door to this place, and its a big industrial unit, their powdery sweet whatever the cloying fuck of a mixture of fragrances just waterboards you. I'm not even memeing Kouros is the only thing that survives. The sharp musk and aldehydes, lavender is so mistakable masculine big dick energy cologne no woman could wear that it demands to be smelled. They have complimented/asked what it is 'for her bf' I told her Antaeus so if she does buy it for him she will just think it's my godly aura lel

Picrel is so good lads, it is the only gourmand I own so I don't have much to compare it to but the black vanilla husk and bran absolute is more-ish I can't stop sniffing my wrist, not exactly sweet it's how I imagine a baker would smell after frenching toast all day. I don't mind admitting it's my guilty pleasure frag I might even treat myself to a condom wank tonight

guy laroche should recreate the og drakkar (the green one). I like dakar by al rehab , tho i tried a body spray deo of drakker noir and did not enjoy it.
I feel like times have changed and the unc scent of drakker noir is now more out of place in the current market than a very masculine mossy freshie.
Whddya think guys?
Ill probably buy bleu anyway cus i like bottle design and blue scents.

you should have one bottle of something versatile, elegant and inoffensive for daily use and interviews like bleu de chanel or terre d'hermes. 50ml or less to start because your taste may change. maybe a small bottle or travel spray of a date night fragrance of your choice. anything beyond that is unnecessary except for your own enjoyment. 1 ml is about 10 sprays so don't buy more than you actually need.

No one asked for your advice dipshit. Lmao you reddit faggots assume everyone wants to be molded to the groupthink whether they ask for it or not. I asked a specific question about the release date, you subconsciously filled in the rest. The internet has turned you all into hypersocialized bitches

I was the autist asking for which frag to wear to this small social gathering in the cafe at night. Versace eros edp has been added (gift).
>bleu de chanel edt
>afnan supremacy ce
>versace eros edp
Should i still wear supremacy or do i do eros edp?
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>

I will not pretend to be someone who can pick out dozens of fragrances but Eros is really strong and fuckboy-core. Is that what you're going for? Because it's only really suitable for young 20s dudes going clubbing.
>>
>>18657446
I'm feeling both eros and supremacy, which leads to how others would perceive it as the tie breaker.
>>18657470
I want to stand out a bit but not too try hard. Mid 20s. Also the edp version of eros is more subdued compared to the original.
>>
>>18657473
>how others would perceive it
Different people will have different associations with the same perfume, and if they don't know what it is, what it's named and what the bottle looks like they're much less likely to have a reliable opinion about it beyond "it smells good/bad".
This is also one of the most biased places on the internet, so people's opinions on here won't correspond to those of most real life people.
Form an opinion about your frags and wear the one that makes you feel the most comfortable.
I know it's difficult because it requires critical thinking and imagination on your part, but the alternative is no better than picking one at random.

I think I fucked up. So basically whenever I want to smell good I always layer Oud Wood on top of Sauvage. I bought a 30ml travel spray and since my Oud Wood ran out, I just purchased an oud attar online, apparently it's based from Oud Wood just with a hint of cloves and other oriental notes.
I decanted Sauvage using a sprayer pump and before that, I dissolved 1ml of oud oil in 4ml of perfumer's alcohol. The next day, sprayed it on and the oud overpowers everything, I only get like 30 minutes of Sauvage in a spicier form and the rest is sweet powdery oud.
I want to believe it needs a week to macerate, but I feel like I fucked up. It's just 1ml of diluted oud, how can it go wrong?

Notes that make up amber accord, aka benzoin, tonka (vanilla) and labdanum develop well on warm skin with bit of body oils, it's just simple chemistry.

I hear a tiny bit of civet makes florals better, not in detectable amounts. I like civet, while it is stinky and has some negative associations I also find it has a bygone elegance you don't find anymore. Today elegance means clean, discreet, and minimal. Growing up I saw elegance as worldly, mature, and bold. That's why I like civet but it's also what makes it so hard to pull off. I need to update my wardrobe, I'm going to get a tailored pimp suit and only wear civet fragrances.

What do you think of Mancera? I'm looking to buy a couple of samples. I haven’t tried any of their fragrances (yet), but they seem to get a lot of love on Parfumo. I’m especially interested in Tonka Cola, Amore Caffè, and Aoud Vanille.
>>
>>18656949
Pic is better imo, it was last year's limited release and still available online.
I'm wearing both today one on each wrist to compare and I swear they used AI to market these and it got the scents and advertising mixed up somehow.
The Ivory white studio54 marketing suits the sweet white coconuty lactonic scent from Purple Meloncholia, and Purple Meloncholia sadboy smokey astethic far suits the lavandin violet and fireplace accord from the Ivory scent better.
Basically if you think you'll like Purple Meloncholia based on the marketing alone and already like Valentino Born in Roma, the Uomo Ivory is a safer bet.
Also if it matters to you, the Valentino Limited releases are actually limited and tend to keep their value at the very least, the limited 24 Gold Rendovus was €300 last time I checked

I got 11 total on my list, and 3 of them were Ford. I don't know what to tell you, I liked them a lot. This was from a total sample count of over 24(? I can't recall the exact number) I pulled from reccs you guys had and the graphs. Three of them are OOS at the moment, so there's a disproportionate amount from Ford, I'll admit. I will also add, that his weren't even my top 3 from the ones I tested but they were all in the top 10 so I grabbed them. The unfortunate fact is that 2 out of 3 of the ones I liked the most just aren't around right now. I'll get them eventually, but try not to hate me too much.

>Tom Ford Oud Wood
>Tom Ford Ombre Leather
>Tom Ford Vanille Tobacco
I got raked last time for having too many brand names, but like I explained before: I know these are brand names but they aren't "brand names" to me. My only context for who Tom Ford is before I started looking into actually finding colognes I liked was from watching Nocturnal Animals on Netflix. I also don't intend to buy anything once I get the last three (except perhaps one frag that an anon suggested to round out my collection). Simply because... well, this is a lot and I don't see myself needing more for a good long while.

>>
>>18657977
>Did you grab the original Terre d'Hermès?
If I am to be honest, I have no idea. I simply became a mindless robot and saw that Fragrancenet had insane discounts, saw that Terre d'Hermes was widely suggested, bought a sample, liked it a lot, and then bought a bottle from Fragrancenet. Could I have done better due diligence? Yeah, absolutely, but I didn't, still, I think it smells great (it was the first thing I sprayed when I opened the package to check it against the sample).

Genuine question, why would a car brand frag be any less good than a frag made by a clothing designer, or stationary company (mont blanc), cigar company (davidoff), etc.?

Holy shit, I tested since of picrel in store four days ago by spraying it on the sleeve of my denim jacket and I can still smell it as soon as I walk into my boot room (where the jacket is hanging). Actually smells pretty good too. Wasn't enough to sway me to buy it, but I probably will now for the performance.

I hate when perfume stays on my clothes for days and weeks. If I had a limited fragrance budget I would spray my outerwear with long lasting fragrances and re-wear them, it can really stretch the scent. A scented scarf or handkerchief would also work.

Ok so it’s been 4th day since i kept it in the closet. The opening is very much Sauvage dominated, the oud has mellowed down noticeably. It’s still very woody though but now there are like cloves and cinnamon facets in the drydown. I liked it much better than before, where everything smells like oud.
It has a weird powderyness overall but I don’t mind since my Sauvage Oud Wood layering combo back then smelled like that.

How do they make these photos? Obviously it can be photoshopped and AI but this one looks real, I mean how do they select the freshest looking flowers, lime, most appealing wood pieces, do they have like a supplier or something or is it fake like those food advertisements?

Well if you want to stand out and you expect others are going to be wearing cologne, don't get Bleu de Chanel kek. I have a big bottle I sparingly used for the last decade and a few of my normie friends also have the same. It's good and "reputable" but not at all unique.
Never tried Afnan Supremacy.

I was looking for autumn fragrances since currently we're getting to the end of summer in the tropics, and the salesperson at Sephora had me try Ultra Male. I didn't even bother looking into JPG because I thought it was faggy and flashy, but as the day went on, the scent in my arm just got better and better, and grew into me. Got it in a sale for 40% off, feels complex enough and smells great on me, doesn't feel childish at all, but there are other more well rounded alternatives, with Le Male Le Parfum being the next best thing I guess.

This is absolute bullshit lmao, most women will just like any fresh clean fragrance as long as you don’t overdo it, most women don’t know anything about men’s perfumes or care to know the difference, most of them will think Aventus and Sauvage smell the same and will like it on a good looking guy. If you’re ugly or indian you might as well not wear anything, it certainly won’t have any halo effect specially if you wear weird unusual fragrances, you’re better off wearing a generic mass appealing men’s cologne like Sauvage of Myslf.

They must be contracting the work out to some 3DFX companies who make decent money, they likely have flat rates for how much promo they need like images, videos, web, etc. If you reach out to all the shitty brands using AI and you tell them you can make them promos of the same standard as the big companies for cheap you would make a killing. The quality of the AI being used is so bad it just makes the brand look cheap, but then again they are cheap brands.

It's a pretty decent hobby in moderation, as anyone can appreciate you smelling nice. The bottles are pretty and long-lasting. However I say in moderation because if you turn into one of those review channels that just has an entire table in their bathroom dedicated to their 200 fragrances you're going to look like a weirdo and at that point you would've wasted $10K on collecting things.
