"Omnivore" or some form of gluten/fiber craze again

CICO is the most midwit normalfag shit ever you jew. It's pseudoscientific
>>

>>77190259
Klok. I dont know what the fuck has gotten into normies lately but they are all eating grains nonstop. I dont know if its economic panic or something but they wont shut the fuck up about fucking grains. Lentils, beans, peas, chickpeas, etc. They eat absolutely nothing else. Also, its hilarious how fucking hard they shill grains having protein and how good they are to lose weight but they are all fat and weak as shit and they wont even look in the general direction of skyr, greek yougurt or whatever unflavoured cheap as dirt dairy as a protein source. More gains for me i guess. Im blessed by the normie ignorance that keeps unflavored dairy and regular frozen chicken cheap. Hell, even pasta with olive oil, oregano and powdered dried onion is like a fucking cheat code at the gym, but no, they insist on adding weird ass high calories sauces to literally anything and eating weird ass chemically altered carb sources and shitty incomplete proteins.

Your premise is disingenuous because CICO assumes your body is a closed system calorimeter with a one way energy out-in portal, when in reality you have multiple factors including hormons, the nature of the food, satiation etc
It also breaks the zeroth law because it assumes the body is in a constant state of equilibrium with a third entity which isnt addressed at all by cico
Calories from carbohydrates spike insulin, calories from proteins have a thermogenic effect
Also you cant measure BMR in any way possible or even estimate it past outdated approximative formulas that use body weight as the principal factor
All in all, you're just making up shit and numbers

>>

So your body is less efficient at preserving, absorbing and expending energy than a closed system calorimeter due to factors like hormons, insuline spikes, the nature of the food, muscle and body composition etc thus it's a black box and any form of calculation or estimation is futile.
Glad we agree.
>>
>>
>>77190618
>it's a black box and any form of calculation or estimation is futile.
Again, your ignorance is astounding. Boundary conditions are not a "black box."
>So your body is less efficient at preserving, absorbing and expending energy
Yes, that's the fucking point.
>>
>>77190621
Because calories dont exist. Calories are photons. Eating more or less doesnt guarantee weight fluctuation because different foods are...different in how your body deals with them.
Go on now and explain to me how 100g of lactose and 100g of pea protein (cico says they both have exactly the same amount of calories) are both used the same way by your body. I'll wait
>>
>>77190624
>Boundary conditions are not a "black box."
Glad we agree that CICO breaks the laws of physic by pretending that boundary conditions you cannot be measured dont matter
I'm happy we came to the conclusion that im correct. I forgive you for the insults, your mind is confused and unwell, you'll digest (no pun intended) the truth soon enough.

>completely disregards all the people who are in shape who swear by CICO
it’s remarkable, you’re almost like a tranny with your delusions rather than acknowledging your own personal failures.
Our body doesn’t burn food, that’s true. But energy in food we eat is is potential energy in the form of chemic bonds, so burning it gives an approximation based on heat released upon combustion. Where do you think body heat comes from, buddy?

Already a trend diet in the late 2010s.
I'm predicting we're going back to low fat due to the Y2K revival, people will wonder how people got so skinny back then and imitate them.

anon tirz/reta literally destroys fad diets. we will replace fad diets with fad medications
the biggest difference is that the medications work and no one will feel like shit anymore because no one is eating inflammatory food or shit theyre sensitive to, and if they do it'll be far less of it

I can tell you the next 3, in fact.
unless I get IP banned after the first post
1 fill fit the chinese, the indians, the folk larpers, the /x/erd, the lookmaxxers, naturists, and science-ers, the "there has to be more" people. And it will consist of "traditional shamanmaxxing".
Fights upon fights about spice combinations and amounts, drug combos, how important are special smelly fruits for your penis, whether or not using modern medicine kills you over a turd and weed concoction skin ointment will mix the witch larping and kundalini meditation and whatnot, to make some fun times
2- peasant/slave maxxing in response to slop claimers, emperor warrior larpers and high end stoics, but still against modern food and life. the gladiator, noble peasant warrior and hired arms will be a peak example of it. You'll hear all about they took over the world, won over the mongols, how the pyramids and great civilizations were build on it so it makes you strong and durable. It's still science based and environmentally conscious and whatever by default. You'll eat your roasted and boiled gruels with ingredient mixes that are region locked "for a reason". so no corn and curry ever, oats go with the herbs of the zones they were used, Himalayan salt my anus. everything whole, preserves, fermentation, wild game, no chicken or sugar and all that rich people food. lobsters are a superfood. no artificial, processes, and heavy hygiene.
>>
>>
>the caloric content of food is measured by burning that food in pure oxygen and measuring the heat output
>this makes sense because that is how food is digested in our bodies and there are no other processes involved
>a lactose intolerant person will gain the same number of calories from consuming a pound of lactose as a lactose tolerant person because digestion just works like that

The digestive system is literally an open system.

A closed system has no way out for the energy, literally by definition your slop is wrong.

I honestly agree with this because
>people who smoke meth are skinny
>people on SSRI's often get fat
>both are probably eating the same amount of slop
It's why SSRI medication indicates that you can experience rapid amounts of weight gain, something weird is probably going on there with temperature regulation

Closed systems exchange heat but not matter, according to CICO we shouldnt be able to poop at all but that would be admitting thay some things absorb better than others.
Cicotrannies yet again failing basic physics

Why would keto or carnivore do that when they're already centered around that, as it is right now it will probably be some meme veganism to convince people that "protein combining" is real and that eating like a mexican (legumes + rice) makes you swole

Literally EVERY large scale dietary study shows it doesnt, but yeah, please show me the twinky faggot and his retarded experiment that has never been replicated over a long enough period of time for it to fucking matter. On top of that CICO just straight up ignores the majority of the mechanics of your metabolism.
>>
>>77198323
Please show me a large-scale dietary study in which somebody consumed verifiably less calories than they expended and gained weight. This would undeniably prove that CICO is false. But it's not, and you can't.

That's not how thermodynamics works. Calories are just energy, your body burns a certain number of calories per day based on your activities. If you burn more than you eat, you WILL start burning your fat because you HAVE TO.
>>
>>
>>77190490
Because cico isn't a diet, it's just a rule all diets adhere to. When people say cico as a diet what they're actually just saying is "balanced diet, but less." As for why it's hard to accept, it's because it's the one that actually works, but involves hard work.
>>
>>77190618
It doesn't have to be 100% accurate down to the number. If yesterday you ate 1lb of chicken and 1 cup of rice, today you eat 14oz chicken and 0.875 cups of rice. You then continue eating 14oz and 0.875 cups until your weight stops going down. Once it stops going down you lower the amount you eat again to 12oz and 0.75 cups. You continue lowering what you eat and waiting for your weight loss to plateau until you hit a weight you like, then you continue eating at that level forever. How is that hard?
>>
>>
>>77203028
Playing devil's advocate, there are certain rare and serious conditions (to which 0% of Anons here quality) in which your body will not burn fat despite a caloric deficit, and you might unironically die due to lack of energy in your cells while still holding on to quite a bit of fat mass.
But again, those are rare medical conditions much beyond simply being an obese motherfucker like all the fat anons here.
>>
>>77190542
>Also you cant measure BMR in any way possible or even estimate it past outdated approximative formulas that use body weight as the principal factor
True, which is why trial and error is important along with regular weight check-ins to make sure youre progressing in the required direction
>you have multiple factors including hormons, the nature of the food, satiation etc
>Calories from carbohydrates spike insulin, calories from proteins have a thermogenic effect
...which all affects your BMR, which again is why you trial and error, check and adjust. But please, explain to the rest of us how a person's body gains additional mass out of thin air without additional caloric intake
>>
>>
>>77205617
Your example is irrelevant. If you intake no energy and you have no glycogen stores, even if you have one of these rare conditions, your body is going to burn something. In this case, it will be muscle. Calories are a unit of energy, not a unit of disassembled triglyceride in the blood. Fat is not the only source of energy.
>>
>>77205824
When people say CICO doesn't work they're not talking about thermodynamics. They're talking about how that strategy sucks when someone is trying to lose weight.
It's like telling an alcoholic to just "put down the bottle lol" Technically correct, but you're retarded for saying it
>>
>>
>>
>some people are more or less efficient at extracting caloric value from certain foods than others
>this means that for the same food consumed, they will have different caloric intakes
>this means caloric intake is completely useless and literally cannot be calculated
>the inability to calculate it somehow means it isn't real
>this means CICO doesn't work for some reason
>>
>eat in a deficit
>weight doesn’t drop for 4 days
>body clearly storing fat out of spite
>water weight, glycogen, digestion timelines? never heard of them
>fat loss must occur in real time or not at all
>this means CICO doesn’t work for some reason
>>
>read “zeroth law of thermodynamics” once
>understand nothing
>apply it to dieting anyway
>“body must be in equilibrium with a third entity”
>third entity not located, possibly ghosts
>laws of physics annulled pending seance
>this means CICO doesn’t work for some reason

Calm down. You're arguing with trolls.
>>
>>
>>77190628
>Calories are photons
well no, calories are a unit of energy (broadly) and photons are quanta of energy in the electromagnetic field. That's like saying "kilograms are steel."
>Go on now and explain to me how 100g of lactose and 100g of pea protein (cico says they both have exactly the same amount of calories) are both used the same way by your body
they aren't, and nobody is claiming they are. Protein and carbohydrates are digested differently, by different enzymes and different metabolic pathways. They still provide energy (that we measure in Calories, which are equal to 1000 calories) by way of the cleavage of chemical bonds, which is converted into ATP and other energy carrying molecules in the body.
Anyway, you should probably try posting again in 4 or so years once you graduate high school, it's pretty embarrassing to not know grade-school level health and bio.
>>
>>77190240
This.
>>77190490
People still believe in magic. They think that by restricting "evil" substances and eating more "good" substances they will somehow lose weight. It's on the same level of rationality as a cargo cult.
On top of that, it implies that they are only fat because they were missing some secret esoteric knowledge instead of their own failure of charcter.
>Inb4 but not all foods are equal
True, eating a variety of meats, veggies and carbs is healthier than only eating chocolate, but that is because your body needs certain amounts of macro and micro nutrients for bodily processes, and too much of certain nutrients and a lack of others causes problems. I'm referring to people who think their cake is now healthier because it has coconut suger instead of normal sugar, or cutting out entire macronutrients like carbs.
>>
>>77190490
No one is rejecting it. It's just not a smart or relevant thing to say when dieting comes up. Its like saying you need air to live, no shit. But between the CI and CO part there's a lot of shit that decides where the calories you burn come from, how quickly they're replaced, and how satieted you feel after eating. And every time someone wants to discuss that part. CICO-cultists come.out of the woodwork to spout their retarded drivel. Funny thing is, I've never seen someone that so wholeheartedly argues that cico is all you need, who has EVER struggled with weight. So to them all the mountains of evidence regarding insulin resistance and diets that combat it, is all just meme-tier bullshit to them, despite keto curing hundreds of thousands of fatties of their diabetes & correcting their metabolism so they can get back to a place where CICO works for their bodies like other people.
>>77205594
>just a rule all diets adhere
Except not all do, and there are diets that factually cause you to consistently & preferentially burn more fat, just by what you eat, and when done right that diet has zero nutritional deficiencies. Oh. And it's the cure for T2 diabetes...
>>
>>77190490
No one is rejecting CICO, they're just pointing out that there is a lot of stuff going on between CI and CO, that determines where the calories come from, how quickly they're put back, and how long you remain satiated. The body doesn't process calories like basic arithmetic, it's chemistry, that's constantly in flux between 3 main energy substrates. There are diets that can manipulate this process and by design fascilitate quicker FAT loss. This is what CICO-cultists refuse to accept. Yes CICO is true, it's also the most superficial & superfluous conclusion you could draw & repeat.
>>77205950
>It's like telling an alcoholic to just "put down the bottle lol" Technically correct, but you're retarded for saying it
This.
