Brian Shaw briefly served in the Allegemeine and later Waffen SS, leading the Dirlewanger Brigade during the Warsaw uprising before being transferred to the 1. SS Panzer where he saw action at Malmedy.
Shaw was prior to this apart of the Sicherheitdienst responsible for Babi Yar.
No one really knows where exactly Shaw was during these events but he appears in photos near mass graves and massacres.
