If you want to prevent atherosclerosis, take ezetimibe and not statins.
Ezetimibe works by preventing cholesterol absorption into blood stream while not interfering with nutrient absorption besides vitamin K (which you should megadose anyway).
Recent study found ezetimibe significantly lowers risk of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias by lowering protein misfolding and, as i speculate, by enhancing insulin signaling in the brain, so it actually has anti-aging properties.

Statins, on the other hand, directly decrease mitochondrial functioning - it's literally their primary mechanism of action at lowering LDL. That's why they have bad reputation in athletic circles.
>Statins Are Mitochondrial Toxins and CoQ10 isn't enough to fix this.

Also, thyroid hormones can prevent atherosclerosis too, so iodine, selenium and aspirin (which frees thyroid hormones from thyroid-binding globulins) are a must.

Take drugs and leave humanity behind. Montelukast already boosted my cognitive performance by 500%. And i do not buy them from online pharmacies - but in real pharmacies. They sell it to me because they know alchemists don't need a prescription for anything.

Bamp, interesting thread. I'm having problems with atherosclerosis since I was 20. My diet is already optimized: all the necessary nutrients with extra care for vitamin E, vitamin C and vitamin K2, but it still gets worse every year. I thought that exercising will cause angiogenesis and heal me. It definitely helped me, we'll see how much.

Have you tried exercising instead?

Have you tried nattokinase, serrapeptase, or lumbrokinase? I can't speak from experience but people I know with heart issues claim they've benefitted. There are also peptide formulations meant for heart health; look into vesugen.
What form of vitamin E do you take? The single-tocopherol supplemental forms are controversial. Have you noticed any change in symptoms with your diet? If you can regularly eat raw garlic (homemade pesto is the tits), that would be a cheap and well-studied general upgrade for your veins and whatnot. Drinking green tea is also a phenomenal heart habit.

Good luck and stay strong, Anon. Every bit counts.

I haven't looked into pharmaceutics. I've only focused on nutrients. I don't supplement vit. E, everyday I eat about 75g of raw sunflower seeds that I've previously soaked in water for about 3 hours, but sometimes even overnight. I add them to either a cooled down soup or a salad, or make a paste with a few dried dates (delicious).

Doesn't work. Fit people die from heart problems all the time, especially runners. May reduce risk if you're diabetic or something.

Black cumin has fairly good evidence these days, but other supplements also modulate biomarkers it didn't in this meta-analysis...

Just happened again. It's very rare from moderate/mid-distance running though, but another reason beyond ass cancer not to ultra/marathon.

besides ldl, get also lp(a) measured. once a lifetime is all is needes is steady and genetic. no common drugs to treat it yet

people who have mutation they dont produce LDL dont have heart disease at all

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0bytrCdnbA
>>
statins are quite effective if ldl is reduced low enough for multiple years, then plaque regression is possible

triglycerides and hdl are not as important than ldl, but statins should also push triglycerides down and other statins can be used to raise hdl

moderate alcohol use and excercise boost hdl a lot. people who have genetically low hdl are proven to get benefits of statins even more than other people

Imagine giving a fuck about this shit.

>oh no I might be given the mercy of a quick death at age 65 instead of decades of suffering seeing america turn into brazil as I am put into a retirement home and abandoned by my kids and beaten into submission by the minority caretakers for asking for more pure juice

Are statins good for heart patients? My dad is on them but I've heard a lot of vilifying things about them. Their main benefit seems to be about cholesterol, while they have side effects like muscular weakness and what not. Some people also claim they don't cure anything, just change numbers.

I'm not the one to just believe something over a doctor, but I'm willing to entertain the thought. So are they worth using? It seems you are a proponent.

Burgerstan might be getting kind of shitty compared to olden times, but enough of my relatives survived well past 65 with decent quality of life that I'd rather move to some biohacking micronation than just resign myself to ACKing in the Burger medbed favelas.

So what bro? Its like the opposite of overclocking. You are turning down your settings to make your shit run more smoothly. I would rather take amphetamines or steroids than cuck ass statins

They significantly reduce atherosclerosis progression but make all your other bodily systems function suboptimally due to impairment of mitochondrial function.
