They are not lul, especially with 10kg. It's a DYEL exercise unless you're doing it with 50kg.

I use milk bottles filled with water, taped shut and tied together with an old dressing gown cord. Been on these particular milks for a while now so it's time to go up in weight, for which I will be getting a 6 pinter milk bottle and filling it partially with rocks then the rest with water. Over time I will adjust the ratio of rocks:water as required.

When I was good at them I just did short sets throughout the day, or supersetted with my barbell work. Should probably get back on that. I’ve always hated doing more than 3-5 pull ups a set, even when able to do more than 20

even small weight makes torso vertical, vertical torso fucks shoulders, that's why it's "hard"
put weight in a tight backpack so that weight sticks out and it will make pull-ups EASIER
