Has anyone else experienced high blood pressure?
How did you lower your blood pressure?
Any advice or tricks?
>>
>>77211664
I just started being a chill guy, and the high BP went away. Simple as.
>>
>>77211659
If you're already not very lean then dropping some fat will help immensely. Also consider lifting lmao. Maybe get on some oral minoxidil for the balding too.
>>
>>77211659
What's your BP?
>>
>>77211675
What balding?
Im not balding, at least I dont think so

Telmisartan is the gold standard. Don’t let them give you lisinopril, it lowers test levels
>>
>>77211711
God damn, that's really bad. Who took your BP and have you been to the doctor?
>>
>>77211715
I got a blood pressure test at a pharmacy, I am due to see my doctor.
>>
>>77211739
Oh, well those automated cuffs can be really inaccurate. And for your sake I hope it is because 180 is the area where you need to go to a hospital ASAP before you have a stroke/heart attack/organ rupture.
>>
>>77211745
Nah, it was done by a person, with a machine, in the UK.
He looked shocked when he saw my reading lol
>>
>>77211659
switch to Celtic salt and practice deep breathes
>>
>>77211664
>min-maxing sleep
>using lite-salt tm instead of regular table salt
>adding beet root powder to my daily lemonade
>taking probiotics for the beet root powder so I don't shit myself
145/90 to 130/80. Still a bit high because I'm taking an ECA stack for weightloss. However my sense of smell has gotten better.

>>77211748
People can be retarded. Cuff size and how high it is compared to your heart and how you sit/stand makes a difference. Also my left arm reads higher than my right arm.

I work at a hospital and we do physicals every year to determine how much we pay for health insurance. After learning how to properly get BP, I've learned none of the nurses doing the physicals know how to do it right. They struggle to draw blood. They even fuck up measuring people's height.

Potassium (no salt), vit b2, lose weight, lower sodium, and exercise are the few natural things you can do
>>
>dad has a free bp monitor he never used
>see it, use it for fun
>165/80
>now noided, tracking it 3x daily and cutting out salt, upping potassium, etc
>have basically no risk factors aside from genetics
I don't even know if it's accurate but my mom and sister have high bp. My last actual doctor visit 6 months ago had it at 120/70. I don't want to pay $150 and get behind at work for another visit. Gonna watch it for a while.
>>
>>77211964
How would you ensure an accurate reading? So I know for next time.
>>
>>77211659
Bisprolol has ruined my erections. At only 2.5mg a day. Not even Cialis and Viagra work as well as they did now.

I think I'm fucked(no pun intended). I'm thinking about dropping Bisprolol for good. Maybe finding some alternative that doesn't interfere with erections.
>>
>>77212163
Ok
>>
>>77211659
Grapefruit juice, l citrulline and cialis combination will kill your blood pressure in no time
>>
I have had "high" blood pressure for 30 years. It's bullshit designed to sell drugs. Your health is 90% determined by what you eat.
>>
>>77212340
There is a lot of very convincing science linking high blood pressure to negative health outcomes
>>
>>77212340
Idk if it's BS. I'm still pretty young, so I can't really tell the longterm effect per se. I'm fit but not /fit/, and I don't do nearly enough cardio. But that being said, I've always tested relatively high compared to what I should for my age group. I do feel fine and never felt that it impacted me.

But, that being said, I've always heard that high blood pressure weakens the walls of your arteries. Like, you got a system that is built for a certain pressure and force, and you are running higher than spec.

Kind of like how Toyota engines were historically bulletproof for being overbuilt, but then when you rice it, it explodes.

Makes sense to me.
>>
>>77212158
Make sure to tell the nurse or doctor that a schizo on reddit told you that non-whites in the medical field are incompetent and that you want a white to take your BP.

Forgot to add some automatic BP machines use a microphone. The cuff cuts off bloodfloow and slowly lowers pressure and loosens. The mic can pic up the sound when the blood stops and starts flowing. Ambient noises can throw it off.
>>
>>77211659
Isometric holds and sauna. Not at the same time lol
>>
>>77211964
>Cuff size and how high it is compared to your heart and how you sit/stand makes a difference. Also my left arm reads higher than my right arm.
stop coddling the other anon
placing it wrong will not give those kinds of results

i take my BP regularly and have tried different cuff positions, wrapping it softer/harder etc.
you won't get results in the extreme
>>
>>77211659
high blood pressure is jewish lies.
>>
>>77212426
Speaking of being out of spec, my medic uncle said that if you brain is used to running on higher bp, lowering it too far will impact your ability to think.
I wonder why your arteries wouldn't adapt and toughen up if they deal with higher pressures.
>>
>>77211713
You're a fucking retard. Different classes of BP meds are prescribed for different causes of high BP.
But then again, anyone stupid enough to take advice from 4chan instead of a doctor deserves whatever happens to them.
>>

Former fat ass here who’s had high blood pressure for 10 years

The only things that’s worked is medication, reducing sodium and losing weight.

The beet powder juice is bullshit. I’ve had readings over 190/140 and even medicated I was at 140/100 for years until my eyes started getting fucked up. I’m still on medication though my BP is Normal or sometimes low, like 80/53 but I’m also taking roids so
>>
>>77211748
>a person
what person, idiot?
>>
>>77212847
What happened with your eyes? I'm >>77212155 and I get randomly blurry vision in either eye (not at the same time) but the eye doctor said they were fine. The blurriness doesn't correspond to anything that'd raise my bp.
>>
>>77212847
>I’m also taking roids
That might be doing it lol
>>77212848
>what person?
The pharmacist.
I meant done by a person vs an automatic machine.

Double vision. I have astigmatism, but I started noticing my night vision went to shit, and jut seeing blurs.

When I went to get a new pair of glasses I got tested and had double vision so I have to wear these thick ass prism glasses even when shaved down. Eye doc said my uncontrolled blood pressure probably fucked my eyes. I also woke up one morning and noticed one of my eyes was misaligned. Like I was staring cross eyed. It went back to normal but that sucked ass
>>
>>77212874
No I had the eye problems before the weight loss

Which is why I do test and not enclomiphene

Buy blood pressure meter to your home use. If you go to doc or pharmacy you may simply have anxiety (white collar bp called) whereas normal 140 / 85 pressure goes up to 170 / 100 easily

most accurate measures at home. omrom m3 is very accurate, 80 bucks. m2 is 40 bucks.

also keep hand at heart level when ding the measuring. no caffeine 1 hour before. wrist meters are not good at all, buy arm cuff meter

if you have high bp it's likely high blood sugar and too much fructose in diet as your liver cannot metabolize it all. cutting sugar sodas and fruit juices will help a lot if you drink any of those. sugar free sodas are fine. salt has only neglible effect on bp

Good sleep made the biggest difference for me. High BP reduces sleep quality which in turn can raise BP.

110/70 mmHg master race reporting

no clue about you though
never had high blood pressure, so never had to worry about it

>>77213226
>100/80
that's... not good anon
either you're dehydrated, stressed, have anxiety etc.
or your heart as some kind of problem
100/80 means it's pumping not strong enough

fruit is fine, juice is not

When I wake up in the morning and before I go to bed at night, I'm testing about 137/83 for the past two weeks. If I test my BP soon after sitting down from work (factory) or doing stuff around the house, then I'm testing around 145/90. My BP isn't terrible, but it's enough for me to warrant getting meds. Plus I'm turning 33 soon, and I just want my BP under control for the rest of my life.

Also, my dad has had high BP for a long time. I probably inherited this from him. I knew my BP was mildly high since I was 20 years old. I eat whole foods and high protein, no smoking or drinking, sleep well, no sugary bullshit in my diet.

I just started taking 25mg daily losartan about a week ago. I haven't seen much change in my BP. I'll step up the dose to 50 mg soon.

My dumbass has never done a proper progressive cardio program in my life, but I'm gonna for real start a solid cardio program that fits into my lifting. I'm looking at zone 2 cardio 3 times a week. I will do 2 of them after my lower body days, and one more on my last upper day. This should get me into a groove for solidly good cardio.

I attached a photo of the "cardiovascular risk management medication algorithm" that my hospital uses to manage high BP.

I'll lurk around the thread for updates

Oh, and I'll add three more things on the pile:

I asked my doc about high sodium sensitivity. He legit answered (paraphrased), "Nah, you're not African American, and they tend to have sensitivity to sodium, so you probably don't have that issue." And I was like, "Alright cool."

Next, I have zero other health conditions. Literally nothing. I never broke a bone. I was never terribly sick in my entire life. Nothing. It's just high BP for now. I mean, I had some depression as a teen up to 20 years old, but I got over that by learning how to deal with my worldview & emotions. Literally nothing else up with me.

Finally, I asked the doctor, "What's causing this high BP?" and he basically gave me an evolutionary hypothesis for it and 3 obvious mechanisms. He doesn't know which mechanisms are acting up for me, and I'm getting the sense he doesn't really want to find out the cause. He just wants to toss the meds at the problem while giving me the obvious behavior changes I can do. He was happy to hear I already lift weights for over 2.5 years. He was happy about my diet, rest, and lack of smoking/drinking. Anyhow the evolutionary hypothesis: ancient humans with higher BP survived more often during traumatic events. This works well for guys under 60, but tears up our kidneys and more when we're older. Next the mechanical reasons: 1, too much blood volume; 2, arteries are squeezing too hard; 3, the heart is pumping too hard. We can have a mix of all three issues and maybe other problems.

Here is a photo of my current BP monitor. It works well so far and has Bluetooth connection to a phone app. "OMRON Bronze Blood Pressure Monitor"

ah, damn, only one thing I was missing from this info pile. The doc also recommended I lose weight. I have mildly high body fat % because I've been chasing heavier weights in weightlifting without much interest in body fat %. I think I'm being honest here: I'm 6'4" 245 lb at about 20% body fat. I think doing the 40 mins of zone 2 cardio, 3x/week will start lowering my body fat %. So yeah, I am on my way to following everything doc tells me when it comes to behaviors/habits. Losing a bit of fat and growing a better cardio base might help my BP, and I already started 25 mg daily losartan. I'll shut up and lurk the thread. Hope the thread stays alive for a long time

Interesting and it gives me a few things to ask my dr when I go about this. We're pretty similar, too, aside from me being a skelly.
Have you looked into L citrulline? It seems it'll lower bp a few points after several weeks so I'm going to try that before going in.
>>
My doctor measured me at like 175/110 and was like "bruh" but turns out it was just due to drinking for ten days straight and now when I measured it was entirely within normal range.
>>
>>77213167
did you develop hyperthyroidism anon?
>>
>>77211659
seems like a lot of us are facing this issue now.
I am just 30 and have high bp and bpm.
I eat healthy, no caffeine, alocohol or any drugs and still.
Did go for a long walk today since anons gave me that advice and it might have helped.

Will be working on my sleep and and fitness and we will see if that will change the numbers.

the jews are putting high doses of salt in bottled water
>>
>>77218624
you mean iodine salt?
I did have a caffeine addiction before my diagnosis and was starving myself. I think this triggered it.
