I need anecdotes from anons, the internet is giving opposite answers. Does creatine increase or decrease baseline anxiety in your experience?

Not what I asked though, doesn’t need to be “psychoactive” to work in removing a psychotic state and bringing someone back to normal. Anxiety is clearly some sort of a disregulation, and creatine regulates cell metabolism, so there’s a plausible way it could intervene at the root cause and prevent altered states in the first place. But then others say that increasing energy metabolism in the brain could *increase* anxiety and racing thoughts. Both are plausible, so I’m looking for anecdotes either way.

In theory it should help with anxiety ever so slightly. Just will because it helps with brain metabolism and erases symptoms of a lack of sleep one of which is anxiety.
However if you are attempting to fix your anxiety problem with creatine you will be dissapointed for sure. Basically nothing bought over the counter works except for kava kava which itself is highly liver toxic and at that point you might as well just have a beer

Something understated about kava is how absolutely vile it tastes. It's like cough medicine, dead animals and sadness. It will make you want to vomit, you have to force yourself to drink it and you have to drink like a litre to get the proper effect.
It also gives you a hangover, despite the fact that you're absurdly well hydrated from drinking it.
I don't regret trying it, because I'm a type 2 fun enjoyer, but I wouldn't repeat the experience.

I've probably consumed over 5kg of creatine over the last 10 years. Doses ranging from 3g every other day to 15g daily. Having breaks or slamming it down religiously every day for months. Here's the tldr on most common creatine myths:

Bullshit. It's mostly genetic factors, diet and stress etc. If you have shit genes and shitty lifestyle and blame hair loss on creatine... fix everything else and then searchh for a cause of your problems.

Creatine do make your muscles retain more water. You feel more full but it doesn't cause digestive discomfort or anything like that. Yeah, your waist circumference can increase because guess what? Your abdominal and back muscles will also be more loaded wih water.
>creatine makes you super strong or endurant
It can give you a small boost. One or two extra reps per set, a little bit faster recovery between sets, few extra pounds on a lift.
As for your question: I haven't seen any mood changes, no matter how much or how often I did take it or not. It does not affect your nervous system in any significant way for it to be noticable.

yes creatine is worth taking at 5g a day for the rest of your life. Ever person even tangentially related to fitness should be taking it and the majority already do. There are only two caveats, the first is major and that is a portion of people have no effect from extra dosing creatine in which case stop taking it. The second is if you are allergic and have a negative reaction.

I'm a really bad responder to creatine aswell. Fucks up my sleep, my immune system, makes my lifts sometimes much better and sometimes much worse, makes my throat hurt etc. I don't know why my body has to be such a bitch about it but I've elected to just not take it anymore. Strangely didn't cause telogen effluvium lmao. It's not even a matter of form as I've tried like five different forms and all of them caused issues. I guess creatine and me will never be friends.

your body makes creatine via SAMe and methyl groups, so by taking exogonous, you free up methylation activity for acetylcholine synthesis which is a neurotransmitter. Infact, nearly 50% of your bodies methylation activity is JUST for making creatine
