Everything is already from China, but here we discuss the cheap chink shit you see on various sites.
1st rule of /csg/: If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

I've been buying these things (image deleted: see last line) for $18 for years, but now that I need another one I see the price has doubled.
Is there a cheaper alternative that won't shit out on me? I'm trying to expand the storage in my nephews' Nintendo Switch (cfw).
Unrelated, how do I un-nigger my 4chan experience on desktop without resorting to Incognito mode?

Didn't the EU start tariffing the shit out of Chink shit way back in 2017 or 2018? I remember /csg/ was super active around that time, but because of the tariffs a lot of people straight up stopped ordering shit from China.

what's up with aliexpress prices? I made an order of a product that costed 12.50€ and the stupid courier here didn't delivered it to me and it returned back to china. I reorder the same product after some days and it costed 9€. I wanted to buy two pieces but it was saying only one piece per customer. I tried making another order after 5 minutes and they changed the price to 15€. Also when I was trying to complete the 9€ order from PC the CPU fan started spinning with 100% speed and the price went to 18€ so I just completed the order from the app on the phone. WTF these chinks are doing?

Have they fucked with "Choice" items?
It used to be that "Choice" items had free shipping on orders over 10€ but I'm finding some items marked as "Choice" that do have a shipping fee.
What's even weirder is that once added into the cart and on the checkout the items don't have the "Choice" label anymore and it says "Shipped by sellers" instead of the expected "Shipped by AliExpress".
I get normal "Choice" items too, with free shipping. What the fuck is going on?
Three examples. Do they appear as "Choice" but without free shipping to you too, guys?

IVA you have to pay on any order. There used to be an exemption for orders under 22€ but that dissapeared 5 or 6 years ago.
What you have to pay is import tariffs.
You'll probably end up paying like 15€ to the courier as a handling fee for the tariffs bullshit too.
>>
>>108213180
>>108213629
import tarifs and iva, neither is included above 150€, i linked it, is very clear.
if he pay before it arrives he doesnt need to pay the courer fees
that is why is important to prepay them

you are supposed to punch in the diagonal in between the inside square corner and the outside.
near to the inside corner to make it wider, near the outside corner to make it a smaller angle.
could you send a photo of the other side of the square? i never got one that is riveted, so i am not sure if what i say is how its supposed to do here

Get a machinist square, they're normally way more precise and cheaper. There's a DIN for it, DIN 875 and then 4 precision levels, 00, 0, 1, 2; with 00 being the most precise. However, DIN 875/2 is already way more precise than what's needed for woodwork

Tariffs are kill, looking to buy some chinkshit before they come back.
Any recommendations for a mouse and custom-print mousepad/deskpad? I looked through the archives and read a few good reviews for the VXE R1 Pro (Max). For anyone that has either of the two models, how long have you used them for, and how well have they held up? I've read that chinkshit mice are more or less on par with Western manufacturers (mostly due to the fact that they're all made in China anyway).

though for almost 10 years now they lost their actual value, as in being cheaper than the big name brands, they basically cost the same as a samsung or sandisk and you might as well get those instead at that point

I got a similar one (MCHOSE A7 V2 Pro). They're all clones of the logitech superlights which I used to own and about 50-60 bucks total, all using the relatively same sensors and control boards.
Overall performance is excellent, lighter than my old superlight. No need to download a driver as that was all set up from a web page (pic). Battery in mine is 500mAh and last about 12 days before I need to charge it for like 30min or so.
Make sure you get one with optical switches as well if you can.
9/10 for the 45 euro I paid with free shipping.

buy a custom rug of middle earth, they're floating around on aliexpress.
Do you drive? manual? get a katana-sword hilt custom gear stick, although you'll have to mod it with another attachment as the rubber+screw combo they supply these things with are terrible and will damage your screw-spiral on your gear stick if you use those.

Yeah internally they use the same RTL8159. The XikeStor one has a big heatsink inside, not sure about diewu
One downside with the Ugreen ones is that they often don't include LEDs. They did this with the 2.5Gbit ones but later added them, the 5Gbit/s one which came out later doesn't have them either. The cable also isn't removable with those.
>>
>>108221926
I mean it's hard to tell if the UGREEN one will have activity LEDs, but definitely the cable is detachable.

Family member broke this LED light thing. The wires (grey, yellow, white) seem to have separated from the strip light and I guess just need soldering back on.
But how do I know which wire goes to which connector on the LED strip light?
The wires are labelled: W / + / Y
The Strip lights are labelled: * / - / -
Which is which, what do I solder where please? The wire labelling refers to the colours. White, Yellow and mixed. No idea on the strip lights. Help much appreciated.
I asked in /diy/ but I'm worried it's too pleb a question for the kind of stuff they do so I'm asking my /csg/ bros as well.
I can link what the product is if anyone cares, it's just some moon led lamp

>Does the light have some kinda button that explicitly states what color light it's gonna turn on?
Nope, it has a button but it just alternates between colours. It has a matching star so I guess ideally it would match that pattern but it doesn't matter much
I'm not sure if the wire labelled + is actually a positive. It might just be an indicator to say the colours are combined because that's what one of them is. Plus on the strip light, it doesn't have a +, it's a *, though the other 2 are clearly - so I guess that's the same thing
>>
>>108228316
Looked like a + to me. And yes + is positive, LED drivers or switches are usually connected to the negative terminal, the positive is shared. The combined color mode is done by simply turning both colors on.
Even if you got the two negative wires wrong it'd just swap the order of the modes the light will cycle through.

>>
>>
>>
>>108227973
Also, Y is for Yellow which is what the Chinese call Warm White. So those wires are White, Positive, Warm White. You could figure out exactly which one is which by taking a multimeter to the - pads and the sides of the LEDs.
>>
>>108229281
I'm a complete idiot when it comes to multimeters

OK so I went ahead and basically trial and errored it
It half works now, but only when the wires are held in a certain position. When it's moved, sometimes the warm yellow won't come on, or only one led will come on, or stuff like that.
Before it broke, it was a bit dimmer than the other ones. Any idea what could be causing this?
My solder job is incredibly shoddy, because of the way I had to solder the wires while they were already through the moon and the led strip is stuck with adhesive so i don't want to pull that off either, but as far as I can see, no bridges.
It is definitely a shit solder job though.

Ok, I actually bought a human hair wig from aliexpress. It was 215 cad. I can post a pic if you want.
Its pretty nice, but it didnt come with bangs (the product listing image had bangs) so I returned it. I also just want one thats longer and thicker density. So, someone encourage me to spend 440 dollars on a longer and thicker one with bangs. Its pricey so I need some encouragement. Or perhaps encourage me to buy one that's just thicker and not longer too. Reason why I want such an expensive wig is because I am a male crossdresser, and I like casual crossdressing so a human hair wig is a nice thing to have. I have a buzzcut normally.

It is for bulk purchases. You aren't going to be able to go to a seller who sells like food scales and say, I just want to buy one because the cost scale at which they sell does not make it profitable for them.

So did the guy up above really order 500 units of realtek pcie ethernet card or it's just a price listing? Because for 25eur I would buy it but on aliexpress the cheapest ones that look kinda similar are 2x the price.

i guess i needed to be a bit smarter with them and predict what would happen once everyone gained a shitload of gems. they were still good while the world tour game was still ongoing where i was able to redeem them, but i really should've used them all up before people finished their 100 days
i have 1.5mil gems now which i can't redeem when i could've done a few surveys every day to get much more. oh well, lesson learned.
i'll use them to get red coupons for now and the rest can be treated as a sunk cost

USB mstata enclosure arrived. It looks like pic rel. After an hour of fiddling around I finally managed to slap thermal pads onto the important chips.
It runs on a JMS578 chip, with firmware 00.02.01.05. The power is supplied from a buck regulator not LDO like some cheaper adapters.
On linux the chip does UAS but not TRIM by default.

The cart loads games faster and has near perfect compatibility, it even recognizes with DSi enhanced titles which no other flash cart does. The cart runs on a pico chip so anyone can make their own firmware on it with different features so it's only going to get better as time goes on.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 5G, Smartphone 256 GB
Is quite cheap atm.
I'm thinking about it but I'm not sure its going to be a massive improvement over a poco x4 pro 5g.
Is it good? idk if the new snapdragon is going to be that much better is it?
>>
>>108259546
Look at this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008394989640.html
With coupons and cashback you might be able to push it under 500AUD
>>
>>108259546
Snapdragon 8 gen 2 runs genshin smoothly, my chinkheld has the same chip. Basically any snapdragon 8 gen is great for genshin and gacha games, which is based off my various devices I use for gacha. The Xiaomi has a snapdragon 6 gen 3, which runs genshin at low at 60 fps which seems to be pretty good. It can go higher settings but it seems it drops down to 20-30 fps. Your poco's a 4 year old phone at this point, I think any modern phone is gonna be way better as an upgrade.

Should I upgrade to the S26 Ultra from my S23 Ultra? My mobile provider is offering me like $1100 in goycredits over 24 months if I trade it in
>>
>>108259652
15 pro: lose 4gb ram but gain 5-10% performance. Probably one more update compared to the 14 pro. Amazon warranty plus the Aus 2 year warranty.
But with the 14 pro: seller coupon $40, sitewide coupon plus topcashbackAU 11% on the 1st of march puts it $425ish after taxes. Warranty spotty.
Would go with Amazon if money isn't tight and you want peace of mind. Otherwise Ali if I'm trying to squeeze every cent.

Yeah I mean its not that tight desu. Better off with peace of mind imo. Fuckers have me looking at 15 pro+ now, its on sale too for 577. Pretty solid reviews. Looks pretty good for an extra 100.
Is there any actual reason that things are cheaper on amazon than the actual xiaomi shop?
>>
>>108259879
Very likely the Amazon vendor is in Aus selling with local stock, which has cleared customs so we won't have to deal with the added 10% import GST. They're also able to be a bit more malleable with their prices.
The official Xiaomi Ali store has one worldwide price which is cheap for some and expensive for others. If you're buying entry level phones it's super cheap since they barely have any margins, but for mid-upper they are definitely going to take their cut.

I got Poco x6 8gb 180€ and Poco f6 12gb 280€
honestly if you're not going to be playing games the x models are fine. if you want a more premium and powerful thing get the f7
beware google is going to be locking everything down later this year so it's good to plan for flashing something else on them.
>>
>>
>>108260168
they're all the same shit really.
and they all overheat cause modern SOCs are too powerful.
i gave the x6 to my mom like a year ago and it's been going great and it's been going great.
F7 is good, also has glass and metal frame if you're into that. but that's overkill id you're not going to play.
on the F6 I can emulate ps2 and GameCube.

If I'm honest I mainly just scroll tiktok on it do stuff like check google for facts. I've never actually made the jump to mobile gaming because I have a pc so why bother. A comfy visual novel was nice. My poco seems to smash genshin so I would have thought a modern phone would play it easily.
TEC cooler?
