>Not sure what private trackers are all about?
A private tracker is an invite-only torrent website. Each member shares common goals: collecting, preserving and discussing media.

Did you use some kind of free VPN software/browser extension? They sell your bandwidth into proxy networks. In the terms of service you agree to join a botnet. This is how those ban evasion sites get their IPs.

Also want to bring up that if you're downloading the CD layer of SACDs where it was probably mastered in DSD in the first place you should keep these things in mind. Do you trust that the mastering engineer converted it properly to make the redbook layer?

I have a streaming subscription too. Not to slopify, of course. Having a better library of music with efficient compression that works offline suits me more. But if I want to listen to something I don't have stored I just open up Apple Music.

"The accusation of this being AIGM is purely speculative and baseless. Sascha Müller is a well-known, prolific electronic artist with a career spanning over two decades and a massive discography on Discogs. High output is his established workflow, not evidence of AI generation. Unless there is actual proof that this specific release violates the 'Specifically Banned' rules regarding AI content, this report should be dismissed as a character judgment rather than a rule violation."

We can't have a cute and funny atmosphere in this thread at all times due to moralfags crying to the hot pocket squad. Also it invites whiny little children from the sharty to shit up the thread with their complaining. High quality images = low quality /ptg/ thread but you know we accept this sometimes because low quality can be better than low energy.

What did OPS do to get flagged as spam?
Whatever DNS gluetun uses by default also started blocking their tracker IP a few days ago and you either need to whitelist or change to a different DNS to fix it.

All private trackers should collectively come together and host an email service which you can use for all your trackers.
You're never allowed to access the email service outside your home and you're allowed only one account.
This way there won't be problems with being blocked from receiving emails and it's much easier to detect dupe accounts.

RED needs to bump up the TM age requirement to 5 years and ditch uploads as a metric entirely, here's why:
>leverage the RED API to find singles or EPs only available in FLAC 24bit
>downsample to 16bit and transcode to MP3 CBR & CBR
>upload the 3 resulting torrents
>resulting extra buffer from these uploads allows you to rinse and repeat indefinitely
Downloading 170 FLAC 24bit singles weighing 20MB each requires 3.4GB of hard drive space. Seeding the resulting transcoded uploads requires roughly the same amount of drive space, but the lack of seeding requirements means you can just immediately delete the original 24bit downloads.Thats all you need to reach 500 uploads.
This can all be automated to never require human input. An LLM will one shot it if you're a codelet. Nothing here breaks RED rules, and reusing existing uploads ensures you're never uploading banned media.

PTP's rules are iron clad anyway. They allow for so much. You would need to be beyond retarded to make it there from RED recruitment where failure to keep up with audio autism means certain death yet lose your account on PTP.

We have in the RED forums a version of this every 3 months or so.
Ofc you can do that. You can also transcode new 24bit singles automatically and get ETM fast provided you don't get unlucky and piss off some mod because your automatic shit has transcoded dogshit releases.
Here, let me let you on a little secret. Unless you're one of those fags which never get in trouble with the staff on RED, you're supposed to actually check what you transcode.

No. RED already works as intended. That is: an invite forum to expand your tracker portfolio. You are an outlier if you are using it to download music. The economy is designed so you only download what you need from elsewhere and only use RED when they give tokens for that rare release that you can't find anywhere.

OPS gives out tokens for uploads, but their economy is easy enough already that not a lot of people bother.
The perfect BP system IMO would be that you can only earn points through long term seeding your own uploads. Even if you are the only seeder, and even if the album is prehistoric, as long as you seed enough of them, you can download everything you need.

RED is in denial that their economy is broken. Meanwhile OPS will fully admit their economy is broken and then tell you all about how they've tried nothing and they're out of ideas. And then every non-music tracker has this shit figured out just fine, so, it can't be that hard?

depends on how obscure your music taste is. Both and cross seeding along with SLSK is easy mode
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>108233094
Use both. >>108233190 is retarded. The value of OPS lies in the fact that it is easy to game the bonus point system and joining as a new member means people will shower you with tokens. Everything popular is on OPS. It has a large selection that overlaps with RED for less popular things too but you will need both if you're not a "Coldplay is my favorite band!!!" type of guy like that faggot I quoted. When you spot things that are not on OPS do the needful and use redcurry to port them over to help your bros out.
>>
>>
>>108233364
I've uploaded a lot from RED to OPS. But not everything on OPS originates there. Sometimes you get a situation where an OPS user did their own rip of a CD that someone else ripped on RED. That gives me a choice which I like. I pay attention to this when I spot something that uses idiotic folder naming conventions. I do token hoarding on OPS as well so it's basically freeleech for me.
>>
I share everything I get from RED/OPS to soulseek using my seedbox too btw. I help everyone. Neons who want to dl from slsk or OPS to cross seed, normies who download all my albums from slsk without grabbing the log or cue... I don't discriminate.
>>
>>
>>
>>108233579
I don't want to /mark/ myself too much but it mostly comes down to bandcamp exclusive electronic music, variants of albums you can find on OPS with bonus tracks or different mastering, things that did not have 100% versions on OPS but did on RED (OPS has a lot of obsolete rips from what.cd), and rarely actual unique albums that do not exist on OPS at all. The last thing doesn't happen nearly as much as all the other things but encountering it at all justifies the RED/OPS dual account strategy.
>>
Also the topic of music discovery. It happens in too many different ways. My favorite radio station is FIP and I picked up on a lot of music from listening to it. I found so much music through YouTube. Not even listening to music through YouTube but encountering it in a video. Like imagine you're watching recordings of engineering bulletins from 80s UK TV and find music in it you like so you track it down. Then there's collages, finding artists related to ones I already like, downloading random scene electronic vinyl rips and getting the entire discography of an artist because you like them... Just years and years of doing stuff like this accumulates. RED/OPS have the collages so you can start with those too and it gets to the point where you want to download more than you will ever be allowed to and you are building a massive collection.
>>
>>108232868
It's mostly because music is a normalfag pursuit and the file sizes aren't significant enough to build "currency" is terms of ratio because if you are someone who is a fucking nerd (and you probably are if you're on a tracker in the first place) odds are you aren't listening to the normalfag shit in the first place so you either
A) use some tokens to slap the normalfag shit and just let it sit for months to years to build ration or
B) don't bother with it and only fuck with it when you have tokens to use to protect your class
>>
>>
>>108233735
This is the kind of shit the most boring people with autism say. "I have an idea of what makes a normalfag in my head and I must conform to being the opposite in order to be a different, very embarrassing, kind of stereotype." I bet you post on /v/.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
Ah music. That refuge of famous normalfags like Wesley Willis, Charles Manson, and GG Allin. Want to put on some Captain Beefheart? What are you, a fuckin normie? There's nothing more normal than sitting in your room repeatedly dropping the needle back on a mono copy of Caroline, No every time you reach the end of it while sobbing like a little bitch. What are you going to do next, join a band because you're unsuccessful with girls yet take to musical theory? Fuckin normie shit. Expressing your emotions through music regardless of if they are joy, anger, sadness, or incomprehensible rambling is totally normie coded. The only acceptable place to do these things is on four chan dot org.

There's that one fag who always insists TL is all you need. But the only kind of neon who is a problem is the uppity neon. If they're talking about climbing the ladder and what they're doing to cope with not being in PTP and BTN that's fine. If they're acting like they're beneath the best trackers and HUNO is good actually that's annoying neon shit. You even get the kinds of people who made it into the good trackers but still have a neon's mindset. They climbed but can't stop looking downward.
>>

>>
>>
>>108234245
Nothing bad will happen if you buy an invite on eBay. Anons here have invited random people into IPT. It's not truly hard to get in there. I've been invited lots of times. Random people I met on IRC gave me invites. You just can't take any conventional cabal adjacent path to enter.
>>
>>108234253
If you post ragebait getting a serious response is the point. It's like being an arsonist and making fun of the house for burning down. Private trackers are our favorite topic here and we will yap endlessly about them given even the slightest excuse. Trying to "troll" us into talking about private trackers, even if the discussion becomes heated, is missing the point of what trolling even is. We fucking live for this shit.
>>
>>108234245

>>108234223
there were some posting a bunch a couple threads ago, and a little in the last one too. I don't mind them too much usually
>>
>>108231033
These issues are generally less of a problem on higher tier trackers but to be fully accurate you would have to deal with
>how some trackers' search APIs don't just return the release/filenames (e.g. KG, GPW)
>people uploading a version of a file that has the same name and size but e.g. it's had its metadata fucked with so the first piece doesn't match
>the same file being renamed
>Individual episodes either having their own torrents, being in a season pack, or sometimes a full series pack or arbitrary multi-season pack depending on the tracker
You'd need the hashes for each individual file in each torrent, which you'd need to crowd source from people actually grabbing the torrents. Having the .torrent files isn't enough, because they don't have per-file hashing unless it's a v2 torrent which basically no private tracker uses, and different trackers will usually have a different hash for the torrent file even if the contents are identical
>>
>>108225703
Update about this insanely autistic undertaking. I vibe coded a script to resample everything that is not already 48khz using sox_ng. The metadata and resampled audio is then fed to opusenc and encoded at 128k VBR. I am 2/3 of the way through and that much of my collection in opus is roughly 100GB down from the original total 887GB. I suspect when complete it will be around 150GB which is manageable but I now want a phone with more storage and a SD card slot.

Real talk: TL is a fucking joke for movies. In my setup it's only place is as a BTN backup alongside BHD. For what is on both HDB is just as good as PTP from a quality standpoint. HDB does not have slop like hallowed like BHD does which obviously puts it above BHD. PTP is heavily reliant on HDB as a source for encodes so it's idiotic to discount it.
>>
>>
>>108234593
It's in response to >>108234541
I wouldn't argue that KG or AvistaZ aren't useful to people who like what is on those trackers. But TL as a PTP backup? It's dumb not to have the one two punch HDB/PTP combo for cross seeding to collect the bonus points from it anyway.
>>
>>
>>108234603
HDB wouldn't have stuff not on TL + KG + Az while KG and Az have tons of stuff not on HDB, so what's the point of HDB? just another tracker? they might have slightly better encodes for a lot of stuff, but I don't see it as a major strong point
>>
>>
>>108234650
It has stuff that isn't on TL. It has a lot of overlap with PTP's HD content and a lot of it originates there. If you're getting it from TL it's going to be heavier on the capeshit than HDB is and lower quality with worse retention on less popular content. The real value of TL is scene releases, unrared, with good pre times.
>>
>>108234650
>better encodes for a lot of stuff
top quality encodes is the whole point of HDB, if that doesn't interest you then it's not for you. If you want breadth of content then PTP, KG, and AZ is the move. Other than a throwaway invite to give to normie friends I don't really see where TL comes in
>>
>>
>>108234665
Well BTN usually beats TL for scene release pre times. But sometimes they don't. It's a good backup for TV where scene and p2p don't have a real quality difference most of the time.
>>108234673
When it comes to movies TL is like the worst of all worlds. I wouldn't combine it with anything. The only nice thing I can say is that if you want CiNEPHiLES remuxes or some other things like that they stock you can get them there on freeleech then cross seed to the actual good trackers. IPT has a way better selection of untouched scene blurays too if you're into that. I used to grab those from there then cross seed to PTP/HDB to collect the points.
>>
>>
>>
>>108234700
If a show is covered by FLUX and NTb one or the other might win depending on the week. But if it only gets scene releases BTN usually dominates and gets them up unrared faster than anyone. TL is usually a close second but occasionally comes in first, especially if BTN's bot actually shits the bed and it doesn't go up.

>>
>>108234673

I never know when people here are pasting shit from Reddit except when the posts are Reddit as fuck. I should have seen the exclamation point denoting excitement over the library of TL of all things as a red flag.

RED is the new "easy" path. In the future people are going to be saying how easy it was through red the same people are saying now how easy it was entering the cabal directly. When red closes or becomes harder you're going to be kicking yourself for not entering before

The software is shit honestly. But something that does what it does better than it has yet to materialize. Autobrr manages my automated downloads. Sonarr/Radarr manages the jellyfin library. The brr alternative to the arrs is something I'm looking forward to.

Any info on how it will work/what it will look like yet? All I saw was the dev opening a discussion on Github to ask for ideas a month or two ago

Same, I've been using arrs + cross-seed for like a year but just recently switched to QUI and I'm still amazed at how easy and polished it is in such a short amount of time.

No, it worked just fine without paying when I tried it. I didn't even know it had a paid plan though, that doesn't sound good since they must be restricting some things behind the paywall, even if it's not remote streaming. I'd just stick to Jellyfin, everything is free there

Yeah that's the point, it's just a an easy streaming website-like interface to request things on Radarr/Sonarr. Doing it directly from there would technically be the same thing, but it's not as user-friendly for normies, and they don't really give recommendations. Also you can set up permissions for different users in Seerr if you care about that
I have 2 main gripes with it though, first is that there doesn't seem to be an option to stop recommending movies that haven't yet been released outside theaters on the front page, which makes them appear like they're just as available as the other stuff when they aren't
And also they kind of keep the user too much in the dark about the whole process, like if you request something and Radarr/Sonarr doesn't find it or fails, Seerr won't tell you anything, the status will simply stay as "requested". You don't know if there's a problem or if it's just that it wasn't found on any tracker. There's a "downloading" status technically, but it's really buggy and oftentimes it's very delayed compared to the actual progress in qBit. And right when the download finishes, it's back to "requested" since it doesn't refresh the library as often as Jellyfin does, so it only marks it as available way later, and in the meantime it appears the same as something that was requested but not found or not yet available
