Theme: [Accepting suggestions]

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
You must include a screenshot of your DAW - this is to verify the track is not stolen or AI-generated.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included.
You may also add a pseudonym to be included in the track metadata, but it must not be one you already use on music platforms.
Songs that violate YouTube's policies won't be uploaded there, but they will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your song. Light-touch mastering is sometimes applied to improve the consistency between tracks.
Use of AI is banned - This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is prohibited. We rely on trust.

you are not musicians, I don't want to even associate myself with creatures like you

Where can one find foid vocals without ai generating them? I don't mind paying for them but it also the music im making is supposed to be sensual/sexually charged so idk if any female would want to partake
>>
>>108262404
Oh. that's my stuff!
I'll keep the APC64, I like it, but the Key25 on the right, not sure, might go back.
>>
>>108273175
The pads on the 64 are very nice, it's nicely integrated with Live, and I've been using it since I got it two weeks ago.
Downside: It's only USB powered, so the pads may not be bright enough in full daylight, let alone direct sunlight.

So, just chilling. Temporary setup.
But then, everything's temporary.

>go through the trouble of chopping drum break samples and making a drumpad

how do i fix this?

synthesis. modularly.

Do I need a midi keyboard to make music on chiptune trackers?

>>
>>108272238
you could use a vocal synth like synthesizer v or vocaloid, the only problem is that by default it comes with an autistic fandom attached to it
>>
>>108276456
assuming your tracker has keyboard piano roll, no you don't. you don't NEED a midi controller to make music on a computer, but it helps build and hear chords instantly
>>
what are some good music production software on linux? i only know ardour.

>go through the trouble of chopping drum break samples and making a drumpad
Like in Live, which can do this automatically?
>>108276456
>Do I need a midi keyboard to make music on chiptune trackers?
No, but a lot of my stuff certainly profits from having a more direct interface to generating vibrating air on demand.
But, first I spent plenty time playing around without any of that, so there's that.
>>
>>108281364
>Like in Live, which can do this automatically?
you can do it, just the auto detection isn't 100%, especially for individual hits. and for the drumpad I usually do individual hits + some one-shots

but my point is that just copy-pasting the audio waveform gets me going more than using the proper interface.

Something gets you going!
That's more than most get.

I like this mix a lot. Some things I need to fix:
1. Turn down guitars just a hair so the snare can pop through more
2. Eq guitars(?) For the same reason as above
3. Learn how to actually eq bass, though it sounds good there.
4. Add some more reverb on a send for the guitars. (I have the slightest room reverb on the guitars to simulate the guitar amp/cab sims being played in a room, it's almost inaudible until you pause the track and hear the tail for the splittest of seconds)
5. Play cleaner
6. Potentially fix some high end on the overheads in the midi drums
7. Git gud at mastering

New things I did:
1. Sidechained the bass guitar to the kick to bring it down when the kick hits (-2 db more or less)
2. Sidechained all the guitars to all the guitars to bring out the snare more (-2 db more or less)
(Both had very fast, almost instantaneous attacks, and somewhat fast releases with calibrated pre-comp to make up for latency)
3. Used dynamic splitting and stretch markers to make the guitars sound tighter but still somewhat natural

Right, I'll post soon.

alright I bought the fl studio producer. next I'll start reverse engineering songs. wish me luck
>>
>>108285384
Reverse engineering can be decent fun.
>>
>>108285691
I also remember when the chinese reverse engineered our decades of research.
>>
>>108286056
Hundreds of millions of research turning into chinese copies.

Nobody directly supports it IRL.
>>
>>108287596
a k2 is just a simple oscilator though and you're...doing stuff?
>>108287944
It would be more interesting otherwise.
Quadrophonic sound was a thing since the 70's or so, I believe!
>>
>>108288252
define simple, it has the rev 1 which is self oscillating filter like og ms-20 and rev 2 that is very clean and modern, it does have a bug with rev 1 I'm trying to solve

anon I'm training my ears

>download perfect ear from google play store
>start learning intervals
>it plays minor and major and asks you to identify which one's interval is larger e.g. plays B-C and F-G
>I always identify all notes (B C F G identified) and then calculate intervals in my head
is this something I shouldn't do?
>>
>>108290180
try switching to chords. then, do interval identification (not the bigger smaller game). it should be kind of easy because intervals are contained in chords, and chords are easier to hear imo.

You can also associate intervals with well known melodies.
>>
>>108281364
I like the green suit.
>>
>>108289985
fixed it
>>
>>108290180
You should just feel intervals since they're all distinct.
This is the best way to train your ears:

do these types of led button matrix devices show up as regular midi controllers without the need for external drivers? (besides additional features)
