I've been using GLM 5 more and more these days because it's good enough and less positivity slopped than Claude. But it's lack of intelligence shows up on occasion which requires handholding I normally don't need to do on Opus 4.6. However when I think back to using Sonnet 3.7 a year ago I realize that the minor handholding I use for GLM 5 really isn't that big of a deal for an otherwise good roleplay at 75k token cap. I just swap to Opus 4.6 if I feel GLM is struggling or if I want to do a very emotional scene or something. Then Gemini 3.1 for some sloppy, mindless coom.

Yeah the Chinese models are super cheap. Deepseek is $0.28/$0.48 per mil, and $0.028 per mil input with caching. GLM is a bit pricier from what I recall but still dirt cheap compared to Claude or even Gemini. It's good, too.
