みこい sounds incredibly silly to me no matter how it's spelled in Japanese.

If I had to give a name to my daughter by using 恋, I would use れん over こい, but still it sounds kind of silly because its pronunciation is the same thing as 未練, 未恋, etc.

Has anyone here been to a language school in Japan? What are your guys opinions on them? I don't know if I should go to one because a lot are geared towards either westerners who don't really care about learning the language and just wanna fuck around for a couple months, Chinese students who need a way into the country to get into Japanese university or piped into Chinese companies in Japan, or third worlders from Asia who are gonna get specialized visas and do slave work in certain industries like hospitality. I already have a bachelor's so I'm not trying to get into Japanese university, I'm thinking about going so they might set up me with a job there. I'm not too picky, I have been unable to find a job related to my major since graduating and make basically nothing, so it's not like I'm leaving something behind going to Japan.

The problem with reddit, beyond being reddit, is that I read that people who work at some of these schools actually go on reddit and shill for their school there so you can't trust what you read. I even heard that if you look at Google reviews of these places, sometime the staff will leave 5 star reviews. Unfortunately many of these schools seem very suspect which is why I'm a little weary, especially schools for Chinese students.
