I am thinking about using the clothes on some model kits

I have heard that dark colored clothes stain vinyl and softer plastic material because the dye was not dried when they were being packaged in the factory

So- should I hand wash the clothes before putting them on?

Yes, it's generally a good idea to wash clothes before putting them on dolls. Not all darker fabric and thread will cause stains but better to be safe than sorry.

Just to wrap up the saga, UPS is disposing of my package as it was undeliverable to the return address. I can't believe it.
If anybody uses FromJapan as a proxy, just know their customer service is completely useless as I contacted them several times about it and they did nothing despite several warnings in the tacking saying they needed more information to return it to them. I'm so god damn mad.

For the month of March I feel like challenging myself to start doing photoshoots more often and actually post the resulting pictures. The goal is a post every day, both here and on Bsky/Twitter, and a photo session somewhere in the week. So to start of the month... its the very first doll pic I ever took (that contains a doll).

Silvia was first doll I picked up back in 2018 after a bunch of indecision and missing pre-order caps and then never unboxing her until about 6 months later. She went by Gin for about the first year, named for the Rozen Maiden character that sent me down this rabbit hole... 22 years ago, that can't be right.

Other than her name change, she's kept her style the same over the years. She's the cool aunt-type character that the rest of the girls can rely on, not the onee-chan that you'd expect. I think Hibiki is starting to fall into that designation Always has that sexy but classy fashion sense.
