Farris is a great one to host early on because she can heal. Later on you want to ride/host someone that can revive your allies, like a Carbuncle.
Riding is important because speed is the most important stat, and you can basically 1.5x to 2x your speed easily with a good mount.

Riding is easily one of the most important stats to raise. When you get a good bike or horse that worships lulwy and have a good riding skill you'll never want to go back. Symbiosis is a freebie and really nice for squishy glass cannon characters that are essential to keep alive (healers or people with resurrection) since they can't "die" while hosted onto you except for very specific instances and are instead rendered temporarily unconscious.

The patch notes have said things missing in Elona are because they aren't important to the story, take that as you will.

What is the best way to make money farming? I've been farming massive fields of berries, farming bees and turning their honey into wine, but I just don't know how to scale up. Correct, if you ever want to actually craft weapons and armor you'll have to mod it in.
If you want to find shit stop going to the puppy cave. There's also the Derphy and Port Kapul black market dealers, they sell weapons that are usually better than the town blacksmiths.
