Your parents weren't alive in 1945, and your grandparents probably weren't either. "Soul" doesn't mean shit when the gun isn't stabilized, it can only go 15 kph on a good day, and it breaks down twice before the gas tank needs filled again. Laser range finders, air conditioning, and sabot are the way to go. Tankfudds GTFO.

>>
>>64863474
it was a recon vehicle first and foremost, and it performed alright in that role i think
its limited production number (100) makes it hard to determine just how useful it was though
there were plans to give it the 5cm kwk 39, but those were canned when production officially stopped in '44

I believe they had issues with the transmission. The transmission was capable of turning the tank on it's own axis. I think that and because it was complicated to make for such a light vechile. So they used the chasis of the 38t for their new recon tank.

>Germans having problems with transmissions? Say it ain't so!
This meme is stale and old.
The transmissions worked just fine, even when shoved into vehicles heavier than expected.
They were difficult to maintain though because they had a 50+ ton armored behemoth encapsulating them, non-maintained shit breaks more often.
Even the memetic Panther transmission issues were just the final drives, which are an external and relatively easy to replace part. The drives failing because tungsten was in short supply so they simplified the gears which really wasn't a great idea but the choice was 'more panthers' or 'less panthers' and they picked the former.

The rear end of the M60 is just as iconic as the front to me. American tanks in general look good from the back compared to most European/Eastern tanks, like the M1 or M48. The effect on the rear and side profile is a slept on aspect of tank aesthetics, and it matters too because it's a result of US engine, transmission, etc. design and placement.

Karrar, this one is a bit more reasonable. Based on the T-72, given upgrades similar to the T-90MS (Though Iran says they're independently developed)
The fielded ones are in a tan & brown camo, sadly they do not have the underlighting of the demo vehicle.

This is a meme and overblown.
Yes, German engineers were seething constantly about their tranny problems because the tanks kept getting heavier and heavier.
Meanwhile, the Soviets were seething about how good those German transmission boxes were, being much more reliable than their own.
