Oil paint on the base plate. If a mag has a stoppage it gets a red dot, 3 dots and it's cycled into range larp kit
If it's a hand load I might use painters tape and sharpie, but I usually leave those in a box until it's time to shoot

Seems Ive been overthinking batch. I have mine labeled in batches of 10. A0-A9, B0-B9, etc. Range mags get painted orange. Allows me to track spring, loadings, etc. wasn’t sure if there was a better way.

>>64907444
>Tracking batches
Of plinking ammo? Crazy waste of time
Of match ammo? Sure but having a chronograph sort of lowers the importance of this
Of defensive ammo? Buy it by the case and comingle into dedicated cans
>Tracking mags
Have a stack of training mags
Have a huge stack of unopened magazines
When you wear out a training mag, throw it away and pull one from huge stack. Dont let huge stack dip below your minimum level of serviceable mags. Youre not going to wear through mags very often short of losing them which you've already mostly mitigated by painting them orange

I hope KC gets what he wants this weekend, he's a solid guy with great taste in music
The latest episode of WITW features an AR-15 Model 02 [commonly referred to as the Colt 602]. Christopher Bartocci is of the belief that the military designated it [top] the XM16 in 1962 before M16 adoption the following year. This would make chronological sense but there is no historical evidence of such. The documents presented to the special subcommittee on the M-16 Rifle programme during the 1967 Congressional investigation reveal that the pre-adoption units purchased by the Department of Defense were listed entirely as 'AR-15'. I imagine the reason for this was to circumvent the Ordnance Department which was in charge of general procurement at the time and had been stonewalling AR-15's since their original development at ArmaLite [1957] so the Department of Defense ordered non-prolific amounts to trial commercially [no contracts].

magazines of a same type are numbered to track any problems/issues. dedicated ready ammo label the mags or pouch/container with masking tape, I note caliber, projectile type/weight and date.
Long term storage usually says on the box already of course. most ammo should have a product code somewhere in the container. write the production date on each batch.
Store it like produce at the grocery store with oldest on bottom/in the back.
>>
>>
>>64907551
I was thinking of actual batch when rifle goes boom due to bad ammo (unlikely) or doesn’t chrono in at what it’s supposed to. “It came from X batch purchased from Y place on Z date.” I might be overthinking it.
>training mags
Need to get on some bulk alums soon. Unless it’s totally fucked I lean more towards a refurb. Cost dependent though. Followers + spring and time to clean + spritz with dfl may be more than just buying new to begin with.

If you arent buying reloads or indian ammo you are probably overly concerned about kabooms. If you really want to cut a UPC and receipt and tape it to the lid im not going to stop you but for plinking ammo you should have high enough churn that it wouldnt make sense. If the defensive ammo explodes in the middle of your pitched gunbattle, probably dont need to worryabout it. fwiw, in all the rounds of 5.56 ive fired ive had only one non reload kaboom (PPU).
>Mags
Just buy new. There is no reason to be stockpiling refurbished magazines.
>>
>>
>>64907725
I’ve considered it or even a dot/qr/other. This is likely spreadsheet autism, but I am indeed a freak in the sheets.
>>64907736
This satisfied the ammo autism. Never on Indian or reload ammo. Will do on the new, though I do like the semi-frugal idea of using what I have. Supposedly better for the environment n shiet.

What's a reliable 9mm AR platform that can be supressed, is compatible with AR parts, same AR manual of arms and potentially takes Glock mags?
Or should I just get the Ruger carbine?
Also a decent piston AR upper that isnt bank breaking, is the Jakl OK?
Live in a neo-awb state and I need to get the semiautos before summer
>>
>>
>>
>>64908017
Colt mag is a little better and you have the same manual of arms, including bho. That being said, Glock mags lend themselves to really sweet short stroke kits. I like dedicated lowers, but that’s just me. If you’re looking for out the box, I’d get anything else. You could go qc10/fmk/cmmg/other but you’ll pay more in the long run and still have to do the same tuning that you’d do if you just built.

There's some weirdness about the law saying "gas operated" and I've heard that many pistols aren't subject to it other than Desert Eagle style pistols.
But it also might be misinformation because nobody knows and the state is dragging its feet clarifying the law.
Many seem to think it targets AR style rifles almost exclusively to everything with a detachable magazine.
Its fucking mess though and I hate it.

Not only did AR-15 updates outpace production, procurement and deployment but Colt would pawn off components from the Model 01 and 02 AR-15 onto retail, law enforcement, militaries abroad and domestic. They couldn't even be troubled to keep the serial numbers linear. Colt 601, 602, 603 and 604 are descriptive rather than prescriptive for this reason

ZCO 420 or pvs14/nvg?
I’m looking for a new scope for my hunting rifle but the NF NX8 I have now is fine, I just want something with locking turrets.
I’ve been wanting to get into NVGs for a while, but it’s hard to justify since I already have a rh25, the cost of the NVGs, and the additional cost of all the extra bullshit I’d need to get the full use of the shit like a helmet, peq, etc.
With the NVG I’m looking at like $10k at least after everything whereas which makes it hard for me to commit to making the initial investment of the NVG.
at the end of the day it’s not one or the other, more like which one will I buy now instead of a few years from now.

A2 grip is fucking based, you're just using it wrong. Angle is perfect, and the nub adds leverage to support the rifle when manipulating it one handed. If it's causing you a problem it's because your hand is too high up-it's not a pistol, you don't get anything by sliding up there.

That would explain why you have what appears to be a LAM on your rail but the MCMR is suboptimal for a host because of deflection [the BCM Raider is a concession in regards to this].

So uh is the BCM mcmr rail actually a bad LAM host or just fragile in general or is it just exaggerated internet hearsay, like how their barrels are supposedly not great but then they score on par with the bigger companies (geissele, DD) in any standardized testing?

It's easy to latch onto someone because the groundwork is already there, don't trap yourself. Personally I think anyone looking for casual vs companionship has some shit they need to work on. Having someone to share every aspect of your life with is magical, and they want your dick? Shit I'd do deplorable things for that again.

Because of retrofits and lingering components from parts bins, the most definitive feature of a Model 02 [apart from its roll marks] is the rear sight adjustment mark: it's thinly engraved instead of risen. I'm partial to the Colt 602 because of its "off the shelf" aesthetic. Some of its features are based on military feedback of course, but AR-15's were very much commercial products until their production was officially contracted in the autumn of 1963.

this doesn't render evidence or determinations irrelevant. Also I trust the man's own words about his interest in younger women, which he has never been shy about expressing. There's a point where circumstantial evidence becomes so calculated, so exhaustive, that it really behooves one to take their word for it at a certain point.
You know what I'm referring to so if you want to go down the list on individual circumstantial evidence and explain how each one can be explained away I'm all ears, and I tried to do that until his behavior made it abundantly clear transparency was no a priority in the release of the Epstein files that *he* promised during campaigning even if he wasn't implicated the behavior is incredibly suspect is it not? That would warrant investigation since, right? So not issuing an investigation should itself be suspect.

After venturing down the AR-15 rabbit hole, I found myself wondering, "which came first, the bolt assist or pivot pin detent relief?" The bolt assist patent was filed in July of 1964, months after the Army and Air Force contracts were awarded to Colt's Patented Firearms but there's one on the decorative XM16E1 that was supposedly meant as a gift to President Kennedy so that would imply inception prior to November 22nd, 1963. To convolute the matter even more, that unit has a serial number of 50000 and no pivot pin detent at all. 'Mr Guns & Gear' live fired an M16 marked AR-15 featuring the "partial fence" and a serial number of 089 which implies it was manufactured in late 1963 / early 1964 but it's a documented fact that Colt did not necessarily serial them linearly
The conceptual origins of the bolt assist lies with the Technical Coordinating Committee which was established by Secretary McNamar in April of 1963 as reported in the Congressional M16 investigation. If I ventured to guess, I would say the pivot pin detent was incorporated in the weeks / months after the committee's formation but ultimately prior to November of 1963
How is it missing from the "Kennedy" AR-15 in spite of being marked the 50000th unit? Maybe Colt reserved the serial number before production was actually contracted and built the decorative unit in advance with the then latest development of a bolt assist
>>64911650
>You know what I'm referring to
I don't, haven't looked into the civil cases or conspiracy theories
>not issuing an investigation should itself be suspect
Biden's FBI didn't report any cheese pizza at Mar-a-Lago or release any paedo documents to expose or imprison Trump so if anything the conspiracy is that paedos run the government and they're all protecting each other. Personally, if Trump having 18-year-old girlfriends was a documented reality like with DiCaprio then I would be convinced that he's a nonce

Why walk back a lie that you never went to the island by admitting an innocent visit for lunch with your family and then photos reveal different details?

BUT it’s a stupid heavy pig and begs the question, if it’s just a 416 with longer heavy barrel, could the block II m4a1 socom not do the same thing? Like if FN or HK were contracted to make the block II, could it not theoretically do that but much lighter and cheaper?

the idea is to get he red dot on the upper reciever not the handguard pic, because the rail flexes sometimes or comes loose and your dot can shift, which isnt a huge deal for close shots but the difference is exponential out to range. some people put the rear iron sight on the rail if the optic setup uses the entire receiver section

Yeah a lot of countries had automatic rifleman carry IAR versions of their service rifles. Beltfeds are betters but they can be really heavy and the ones that have been adopted have had reliability issues. In the marine corps case, they just used it as a work around to get new service rifles. Previously, the infantry were issued M4s (not M4A1s) which makes me think they originally just wanted new updated M4A1s like the block 2 for example but weren’t approved for it
