i very much prefer by a wide margin movies and video games for stories over books, even when people non stop say the book is always better, i most of the time prefer the movie instead. i might be the only one like this with this unpopular preference

It's interesting. Books are in some ways high technology, in that they only exist in (and their existence even somewhat defines) modern times. They are not a given along with written language, the "book" as we know it is a genuine innovation. And it's interesting that books remain of such great interest even after this recent (in humanitarian terms) boom in forms of expression and entertainment.

I can partially agree to this but only in an immediate sensory experience. For I have played and watch more stuff but it's the stuff I read that had more long lasting impressions on me. I don't remember shit I played last month but I still remember lines from novels 20 years ago.

that's interesting because to me is the complete opposite, i can remember movie and video games scenes much more deeply than any book line, in fact most book details i forget them as soon as turn the page
