The first episode should have been taken down at this point since they said it will be up for a week. I wonder what held them back...

A prototype for a product we can't get until over a month. Looks so good... Again, I mentioned this last thread, but I pray we get a 30MS Compatible Under-Gear (Female Body) so that figures from the Sisters line (and by extension, Figure-rise) could wear the armors from both the original and new Samurai Troopers, as well as fit some armor the 30MS line can't wear on their own. And a Black Blaze paired with the White Inferno Armor so that we can see the sheaths in the right place.

Wouldn't it just be easier to have individual episode threads rather than keep this alive through shameless deathbumping. Like I'm watching as well but lets not pretend Samurai Troopers is big/popular enough for a rolling general.

So I guess it's more or less confirmed that the new armor gears are tech-based. Two things that do intrigue me. First is that any kind of depiction regarding the OG troopers has them depicted in the gears made by Kaos, which were destroyed in Legend of The Kikotei and were replaced in Message. This tells me either that they're retconning the OVAs or they may could be treating the Suzunagi gears as like, individual power ups for them. I personally hope it's at least the latter because the Suzunagi gears look awesome.

The second thing is the Jewel of Conquest and the Sword of Domination. And the third treasure which is no doubt according to the leaks a God's armor or something. Which really seems like a retread of what happened in the original series with the Jewel of Life, the Go-retsu swords and the Kikotei. All of it being a parallel for the real world imperial regalia; the Kusanagi sword, the Yasakani jewel and the Eight Ata mirror. Like, why do this again?
>>
>>23727600

Finally, Symphogear-core. Expect more from Gai's playlist, cause he got taste.

Next week, Shion armors up for real. And now that we know the Sword of Domination is basically the modern counterpart of the previously broken Soul Swords of Fervor, what do you think will be the last of the Three Sacred Treasures, the New Inferno, or straight-up something similar to a mirror? Whoever has the answer, it's either Jun, or someone we have yet to meet.
>>
>>23727705
>what do you think will be the last of the Three Sacred Treasures
It's armor. Some threads ago the guy whose been translating the leaks said it was an armor but wasn't the Kikotei. It has to do with the gods getting involved.

The real question is how bad the new Ronin will job next episode. I feel like they might go for a homage to the original series and by the end of the episode the Ronin are scattered all over Japan.

>The real question is how bad the new Ronin will job next episode
They'll get roughed up. Nothing bad.
>I feel like they might go for a homage to the original series and by the end of the episode the Ronin are scattered all over Japan.
That really doesn't work considering there's a barrier preventing anything from getting out of the city. There isn't anything of symbolic worth for them to get sent to because unlike the Kaos gears, these new ones are artificial. Also, it's only the four of them with the DST gears. Shion hasn't taken over using the Senko armor from Ryusei yet.

>And before the next Trooper dies, the Four Beasts could get themselves involved. Character design for one of them was leaked, and we know jack shit about them besides being part of the true world order.

I have, for a while, started to think that Byakuen is one such of these beasts. If you look into the "Four Symbols", these four beasts that pop up throughout east asian culture (but initially rooted in China), one of them is a "white tiger". And given that Byakuen is clearly more than the ordinary tiger as he's much more intelligent and immortal (he was Kaos' companion for over 1000 years until he started staying with Ryo in 1987). I think Byakuen might be the "earthly form" of either Inmei, Gomei, Gaimei or Shimei in a similar way to how the Istari from Tolkien's works each took the forms of elderly men despite being divine beings beyond physical form.

It's also funny that might could be going with the Four Symbols, who are each themed with a direction and a season. Just like how the Demon Generals were. Although the Demon Generals' stuff is more rooted in Buddhism.

Chinese;
>Blue Dragon
East - Spring
>Red Bird
South - Summer
>White Tiger (Byakuen)
West - Fall
>Black Turtle
North - Winter

Bhuddist;
>Jikokuten (Shuten Doji)
East - Spring
>Zochoten (Rajura)
South - Summer
>Komokuten (Naaza)
West - Fall
>Tamonten (Anubis)
North - Winter

I do wonder if there will be an intentional correlation with both entities.

>Dhṛtarastra

With Virupaksa, it's said that he's the leader of the Naga, which is what Naaza's armor's name and visual themed are based on. Cool additional detail there. I hope the Demon Generals appear in the new show. With the OGs trapped in the Yoja World, it makes you wonder if they linked up to survive.

Just approach sponsors other than toy companies lel. 80s/90s anime had massive music/singer output. Every other OVA/TV show came with character songs sung by seiyuu (Kimagure Orange Road, Oh My Goddess had several albums of these), or even unrelated singers/bands like Bubblegum Crisis, 3x3 Eyes.

Were the warlords supposed to be regular kids that got kidnapped by demons or were they 1000 years old?

The demons having schools and technology and rock bands in the new series was unexpected. I thought it was just like hell where people sit around waiting to fight all day.

>>

>Were the warlords supposed to be regular kids that got kidnapped by demons or were they 1000 years old?
400+ years old. They were all born in the mid 16th century right basically at the dawn of the Warring States period. Arago recruited them because they were all warriors put in shit situations in life because of the times and appealed to them via a combination of the bitterness growing in them from their respective situations and their core virtues and twisted them to suit his agenda. Promising them power and a more worthy master to serve (him). Out of his human servants, only Kayura was kidnapped.
>I thought it was just like hell where people sit around waiting to fight all day.
No, the Yoja world is purgatory. Or at least it's supposed to be before Arago perverted it and took it over. It's supposed to be where the souls of the dead go to work out their unfinished business before proceeding to the afterlife. But presumably it's not that far fetched about how it's different from then and now. Despite the supposed barrier erected that Nasti mentioned, she said that it had breaches over the decades. It's not that far out that people maybe accidentally found themselves there, or got kidnapped, or maybe demons came through and stole shit, or simply that people who died between then and now managed to carry over influences there from life and set trends.

Part of what also might explain it is that with Kaos dead, he's no longer around to seal keep the Yoja world from creeping in. Much like what he did with that bombed village in the 1940s in Message. He cleansed the place of human negativity to prevent the Yoja World/Arago from creeping in. This is why when he found Suzunagi there he initially thought she was a resident of the village slain from the bombings. So with Kaos no longer doing that shit from Earth might could now be occasionally spilling into there. But not at a very fast rate. Thus why they're all still using mostly pre-digital tech.

I'd say more the 90s. It couldn't have been much of the 80s because they had Kaos maintaining the divide between Earth and the Yoja World from at least as far back as the Heian era all the way to 1988 when he died.

>>
>>23733652
>How are they going to fight him off here?
They're not. He's gonna toy with them for a bit and then fuck off. If anything, he's probably just probing Gai's progress. Gai defecting is all according to keikaku. We know he wants to use Gai's body as his own so the purpose of this is probably letting Gai get stronger so that his body is a more suitable vessel to contain and express Ramaga's powers. And also probably because he thinks using a Human body will loophole him into being able to wield the new three sacred treasures.

File: Badamon.png (624.3 KB)

An interesting theory I came across last night from the Japanese crowd concerning Ramaga. With him being a body snatcher that can transfer his consciousness from one thing to another, the demon who we know as Ramaga may not be real, but an alias. It is supposed that he may be Badamon. It's interesting of note because he was the one who first came into contact with Arago back during the Heian era when Arago was still Human. He was the one who forged Arago his armor when Arago initially wanted the Kikotei, but Badamon convinced him he could make something of equal or greater power. And Badamon later pledged himself to Arago's service whereupon Arago would become the most powerful demon in existence for 1000 years. It may also explain why "Ramaga's" armor is so similar to Arago's and why he was able to rise to power. And of course we know he can possess bodies as he did with Kayura. The real big flaw in all of this is that we saw him get his ass killed by Ryo in the last episode when he took a blast from the Kikotei/Go-retsu swords' powers. If he could somehow survived that, it may explain how Ramaga exists as he does and why he was able to become or pose as the new Archdemon of the Yoja World. It may even could explain Sasuke and Kamanosuke's medallions (assuming the other remaining Braves don't also have their own underneath their clothes).

So is Ryo Gai's biological dad ?
>>
>>23736697
Ramaga is voiced by Konishi, not sure if he will retain the same voice.

Yamato's big brother figure that inspired him when he was young is voiced by Kusao Takeshi(Ryo's original VA).

Brave Bravern did have two characters with the same identity having two separate VAs.
>>
>>23736697
That depends on if Ramaga was using his body at the time of Gai's conception.

I would not be surprised if Ramaga kidnapped Gai from from his actual parents and killed them
>>
>>23736697
>So is Ryo Gai's biological dad ?
No. Ryo and the other OG troopers got lost in the Yoja World 5 years previously. Gai is 14.
>>23736820
>I would not be surprised if Ramaga kidnapped Gai from from his actual parents and killed them

Could be some time warping stuff going on in the demon realm.
>>
>>23737062
>Could be some time warping stuff going on in the demon realm.
I doubt it. The leaks first established, and the show later confirmed, that Ramaga is a body snatcher. Ryo's his current host. Who he was using before Ryo went into the Yoja world was someone else. Now he wants Gai to be his new host.
>>
>>23737066
He ultimately wants to use Gai as a conduit for reaching the Celestial Emperor. All he wants is to turn the world into one full of nothing but demons, and if he reaches that goal, then nothing, not even the Three Sacred Treasures, can stop him. Worse, with Ryusei dead and Ryo being Ramaga's new body (and the potential that he killed all the armor wearers to take in Arago's power by himself), then the Symbol of Fire is permanently gone.
>>
>>23737085
Well so far the show has been proving the leaks are genuine at every turn so there's no reason to think the OG troopers, and even the Demon Generals, are dead until the show contradicts them. Even more so since the leaks seem to indicate that Ryo formally adopts Gai into the Sanada family. And I especially wouldn't buy Kayura being dead since she still had Kaos' shakujo, which has proven to be an extremely formidable weapon even when Shuten Doji used it.
>>
>>23737094
I've seen some thinking Ramaga might have used up the other Troopers before, but hopefully we get clarification soon
>>
>>23737097
It's possible. I certainly wouldn't rule it out as it's crossed my mind as well. We don't actually know how long he can satay in one body. But considering the leaks, we right now have no reason to think that the process of being possessed by him results in death. Especially if it's anything like with what Badamon did to Kayura. Hell, if he does have 8 of them (I don't know, I just have a hard time imagining he'd be able to get a hold of Kayura), it's possible he could be rotating between them as he's not likely to get anything better (until Gai matures) and this way he could stretch out their use.

I'll give you more leaks. As I mentioned previously, Gai's birthday is May 5th, 2009 (see the tiny text at the bottom of the sheet).

so in-show this new series takes place in 2023 which the 35 years takes place from 1988 though the show is airing in 2026?
>>
>>23737116

I can't confirm on this one. But if the show does take place in 2022/23, the OVAs are likely not canon.
>>
>>23737116
>so in-show this new series takes place in 2023
2022, according to Nasti's age. They might be retconning the events of the original show to 1987 now. Which means the OGs were all 14 and Nasti 17.

>>23737120
>the OVAs are likely not canon.
It's seeming that way so far. Which would suck because they weren't bad. Message was fantastic, barring the use of stock footage from the original show during the monologues.
>>
>>23737122
Looking at this, I just had the thought that Gai might be the deal. Ramaga might theoretically could use one of the Troopers for summoning the Haotei (I hope that's the correct romanization) with the other treasures. Training up and using Gai in their place could be the deal Nasti made with Ramaga to save Ryo, Seiji, Xiu, Shin and Toma. Ramaga has them, she has the other two treasures and now Gai.

What do you think about the idea of Kaito being Touma's son?
>>
>>23737234

This one actually makes more sense than Gai being Ryo's son and can be explained easier. It's also gaining popularity among the Japs rather quickly
>>
>>23737094
Ryo adopts Gai at some point, yeah. But if it explains how Ryo became Ramaga, that could mean Gai went with the original team into the demon gate at age 9, and corrupted the both of them into demons. Probably the only explanation there, but the jury's still out on whether or not the eight other armor bearers are still alive.

>What do you think about the idea of Kaito being Touma's son?
I generally hate the idea of protags being SPESHUL because they had SUPER SPESHUL parents. Many a battle shounen is guilty of this.
>>
>>23737173
>We have Inferno at home
They must know that the mega armor won't be nearly as iconic as Inferno to not even try to copy its design.

>>23737564
Better than protags that had potential love interests that went nowhere, leaving them forever virgins to appease fujos. (Looking at you, Capcom) Though I'll say that there was no romance in Samrai Troppers, there was also very little yaoi bait outside of artworks; so, I agree that the successors being the secret children of the old cast is dumb.
>>
With that said, if Gai is Ryo's son, even if it's unlikely, I can think of a certain crack ship, especially if Ryo has been stuck in the Youja realm for years.
>>
>>23737602
I think I have seen a novel or doujin on Amazon or somewhere shipping her with Touma
>>
>>23737617
That also works because they had a few moments in the anime, and Touma was the first to fight Kayura, and when he risked his life to get Ryo to safety and had one of my favorite dub lines in Ronin Warriors.

>Rowen: Looks like I'm falling for ya, Kayura
>Kayura: You'd know I'll only break your heart.
>>
>>23737564

>>
>>23737261
>But if it explains how Ryo became Ramaga, that could mean Gai went with the original team into the demon gate at age 9,
I find that extremely unlikely. Gai is probably just some kid Ramaga abducted AFTER making his deal with Nasti to spare the lives of the OG troopers. And it's especially more plausible given that the divide between Earth and the Yoja World has been weakening.
>and corrupted the both of them into demons
Neither are demons though. Ryo is possessed by a demon or a Jiryoshu and Gai was placed under a glamour spell and raised to believe he was a Demon.
>but the jury's still out on whether or not the eight other armor bearers are still alive.
We can't say for the Demon Generals and Kayura, but the leaks confirm that the OG troopers are in fact all still alive. With the other four still in captivity.

>>23737602
>>23737635
I sincerely doubt Kayura would suddenly start aging out of nowhere to have kids.
>>
>>23737683
That doesn't really line up with their names. Rajura is supposed to be a kinsman of Kuroda Kanbei. Shion is a descendant of Ishida Mitsunari. I don't think they'd go and give them such names and muddy the references. Which is why I don't buy the whole Toma = Kaito's dad bullshit. Toma's supposed to be a descendant of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Kaito's a descendant of Uesugi Kenshin.

Ironically, historically, neither of the later two have living descendants. Hideyoshi had a son, Hideyori, but he was forced into seppuku in 1615.
>>
>>23738286

Because fictional stories NEVER make up fantastical scenarios right? Magical samurai armor is real right? The youja world is real right? When you try to argue against anime logic using real world logic, that's when you lose.
>>
>>23738291
I'm not arguing against fantastical scenarios. I'm debating that the showrunners between both shows made very clear relations between the characters and historical figures. If they were going to muddy that then they wouldn't have bothered with making those connections and thus we'd get more characters like Mirei, Jun and Shuten Doji, who have no connections to historical figures.
>>
>>23738267
>I sincerely doubt Kayura would suddenly start aging out of nowhere to have kids.
Even if you want to go with the whole, 400-year-old is actually 12, it wouldn't matter since Ryo would only be a few years older. That and I'm most likely convinced Sunrise doesn't care about her age as much as some of the fans here do.
>>
>>23738307
>the showrunners between both shows made very clear relations between the characters and historical figures

If it hasn't been written down in black and white, then it's not confirmed. So no, it's not "clear". Fans just ASSUMED that these guys are the ancestors of the troopers. Notice how in all the wiki articles (even Wikipedia) definitive language is NOT used. It's always "most probably", "could be" "most likely". You played yourself.
>>
>>23738317
>Fans just ASSUMED that these guys are the ancestors of the troopers
Seiji and Shin directly state that they're the descendants of Date Masamune and Mori Motonari in the show. And the numerous databooks, if I've been told correctly, say that bulk of the cast share relations with such figures (like Ryo being a descendant of Sanada Nobushige, or Xiu being a descendant of Minamoto no Yoshitsune). And while the assumption part is technically true regarding the new show's cast, I'd not be surprised that they'd follow suit with dropping info about them in supplemental materials like they did with the original cast over the following decades between now and when the original show first aired.
>>
>>23738327

Where did Seiji and Shun actually say that? What's the episode number? No character ever stated which real life historical figure they're supposedly descended from. As for the data books, what do you mean "if I've been told correctly"? You never actually checked them? I have some of them and NOTHING was confirmed. Shu's ancestor was fictional and fans assumed he was a descendant of Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Get the fuck outta here with your crap.

>The real story begins now

>>
>>23724514
Yeah I like the setting, episode plots, designs etc. but I'm not a big fan of these comedy troupe character interactions.
>>
>>23738931
Think of the first five episodes as something similar to the first two of the original show, where we get to see a taste of power from the Troopers before they are horribly beaten by a major enemy, leading to a long training arc that will improve themselves from where they started. This later part of the story in Shin Den will finally bring Jun back to the plot... and a suspicion that White Blaze might actually hide a true form beyond being just a long-lived white tiger, based on the leaks, at least.
>>
>>23739162
>This later part of the story in Shin Den will finally bring Jun back to the plot.
I'm really hoping they don't bring him back as taking Nasti's place as the older cast member providing guidance and link to the original series. I'd prefer Nasti stay through the whole of the new show. The fact that he's a hikkikomori who is probably being forced out of his shell I think aught to be something to provide material to set him apart from her roll.
>>
>>23739169
While he may have been a NEET based on leaks, he's still considered a monk-in-training, enough for him to have knowledge of the new allies for the Ronins, which relates to the Celestial Realm, a new thing for the show. He could serve as replacement mentor alongside Shion for the recently deceased Ryusei, but his teachings could be limited with how out of touch he is on Reiwa-era Japan.
>>
>>23739189

More than just that. Jun is in contact with Yashimanosagume, one of the heavenly beings. Leaks say he "sold" Byakuen (I thought my friend translated it wrong but she said it's correct), and I'm thinking he was probably sold to this character. Like the other poster said, Byakuen could be just an alternate form that one of the 4 heavenly beasts was using, and he's been returned to his realm. It could be Inmei
>>
>>23739248
Definitely Inmei if he's themed after a tiger (more specifically Black Blaze). What could be a surprise is if he was split into the two tigers by Kenbukyo (or someone else before leaving Black Blaze to the demon swordsman), and Inmei would be reborn after Kenbukyo was defeated and Black Blaze merged with White Blaze to revive the latter.
>>
File: chara0109.jpg (124.2 KB)
124.2 KB
124.2 KB JPG
>>23739253
I'm not so sure that he was split into two tigers since Kokuen is described as a demon tiger. And also I would think that if they were originally one they would've probably known that whereas when we see them meet it does come off as meeting for the first time. I think Byakuen is just always been that on Earth as I think they're going for what was described in >>23729320. The beasts are probably the "Four Symbols", and Inmei/Byakuen is the white tiger.

It may could be that Jun might be being set up to take over for Kaos? One thing that's been itching at me is that since deities have been revealed in the leaks, you'd think there would be some involvement with them since Arago basically fucked with the natural/spiritual order of the universe by taking over the Yoja world as he did. And then it donned on me, it might've been Kaos that was doing their bidding. But immortal though he was, and powerful, he was still only a Human and thus was limited to doing what he could on Earth. Now I don't think they're gonna go with Jun being some scion of a lost bloodline of him or anything, but him being on the phone with a goddess just doesn't sit right unless Kaos was also and it just wasn't relevant of him to mention it. Plus Byakuen was his companion for over 1000 years up until a year before Arago invaded over Shinjuku.

Someone did post some draft sketches of the old designs in a older thread that might've been from there, though they were missing Shin. Idk if Shioyama never did his first draft or if it was lost or not included there.

Besides whatever happened to him, he is apparently the key to whatever this super armor is that they need to stop Ramaga.
>>
And on a side note, after looking at aged Jun, and how Sunrise never committed to showing as an older Sei Iori in Build Fighters TRY, I'm convinced Japan sees child fanboys growing up into unkept fat NEETS. That and not to piss off the shota fandoms at a risk of losing potential money.

>but I hope they come up with an explanation on the Suzunagi Amors and how they got them restored, even though I feel they are fakes with half the power of the original armor
I hope that they treat the Suzunagi armors as respective individual power ups. That's honestly what I thought they were like 20 years ago when I first learned of the OVAs (I didn't watch them for the first time until last january when I was prepping for Shin-den). I thought they were like each armors version of the Kikotei for each element since they all had what looked like at the time white parts. And yeah, it would be a terrible waste for retcon them. Especially since Message lays pretty good foundation context for the DST to exist.

To be extremely fair, Jun is already in his early 40's himself during Shin Den, and in the modern era, keeping the same female VA from his child self is a no-go to make the aging more realistic. Nasti is in her early 50's herself.

>>23747136
>To be extremely fair, Jun is already in his early 40's himself during Shin Den, and in the modern era, keeping the same female VA from his child self is a no-go to make the aging more realistic
I agree. But it can't be ignored that with kid characters they tend to keep with the same VAs across life stages. This does double for japan because they're so anal retentive on maintaining VAs for characters as a priority. They seemingly hate recasting and only do it when it's absolutely unavoidable. That being said, it's great that they finally decided to go a different route for a change.
>>

Okay, so I watched the two previous episodes at once, now I can clearly make a new conspiracy theory. What if Ramaga is actually a form of corruption from a dimension deeper than the Demon Realm that not only corrupted Ryo and posioned Ryusei, but also Arago as well? With his demonic poison being powerful to corrupt any being and defy any hope possible (the Sword of Domination can't even cleanse the poison in Ryusei, instead killing him outright), it's possible the Armor of the Supreme Emperor can't even defeat Ramaga, instead be new grounds for him to corrupt the armor and even the Celestial Emperor themself to the point where merely defeating him is nigh impossible, creating a bad end in the first cour that could only be fixed through a deus ex machina near the end of the cour finale to solve in the next cour.
>>
>>23747182
>What if Ramaga is actually a form of corruption from a dimension deeper than the Demon Realm that not only corrupted Ryo and posioned Ryusei, but also Arago as well?

Human bitterness and negativity is literally what creates demons. It's why Arago became a demon. What Ryusei went through was just an accelerated process of what Arago went through. It's just the shit that the Jiryoushu (demon spirits) can do. Which is why the jap audience came up with the theory that Ramaga is just Badamon who survived getting killed by Ryo at the end of the original series. Which seems plausible since Ramaga is a confirmed body snatcher and is possessing Ryo, as we saw Badamon do to Kayura. The Braves are wearing medallions like Kayura had. And it was Badamon who originally forged Arago's armor, which may explain why Ramaga's is so similar. All of it looks like he's just trying to accomplish what Arago tried to, only now he's trying to use the Haotei instead of the Kikotei, having potentially learned from Arago's error since Demons can't possess the Kikotei.
>>
>>23747188
So in turn, this means the Haotei is eventually gonna be revealed to be a trap the entire time, and once the entire armor is recovered, it will be all over for the Samurai Troopers and the Celestial Realm, until there will be some form of cheating that will find a way to give the heroes a form of second chance. In other words, reassemble both the Kikoutei and the Jewel of Life, which was used to defeat Arago, but now is truly needed against Ramaga.
>>
>>23747193
>So in turn, this means the Haotei is eventually gonna be revealed to be a trap the entire time, and once the entire armor is recovered, it will be all over for the Samurai Troopers and the Celestial Realm
That depends on how the conventions of the Haotei work. It's supposedly a god's armor, but it can be summoned by humans. Ramaga being a Demon or a Jiryoshu could complicate things unless Ramaga intends to control Gai remotely somehow as a proxy/loophole IF it works the same as the Kikotei in that neither Demons or evil Humans cannot use it.
>In other words, reassemble both the Kikoutei and the Jewel of Life, which was used to defeat Arago
You forgot the Go-retsu swords (unless you were lumping them in with the Kikotei). The jewel was shown to be in the protags' possession at the end of the original series so at least Nasti should have that still.

That was in the Hoshino BomBom run, where Kayura also became a Trooper at the end.

The "New Samurai Troopers" manga that ran in 1990 had a boy named Ryoga inherit the Rekka armor instead, and he was joined by Saki (Korin) and Kaiba (Kongo). The manga was axed before they could find the other two armor holders, which would've come up as a plot point in the anime that it was meant to be a media mix for. Sunrise tried to push for it to happen, but a certain 90s Gundam show made it out instead.
>>
I just watched the first episode and it's good
>>
>>23747214
Wait... If you remember how each armor has unique crest emblems, the other four don't have them yet because of their purpose. And each of the armors have spots for their own crests as seen with some circle spots in each of them (Sokyu has one in the left shoulder hinge, Suiren in the shield, Koya probably in the axe or the clear red gem in his chest, and Senko in the shoulder spots where the Crest of Flame was when Ryusei wore it). The new Samurai Troopers might need to gain them as well from the originals through battle if they are also corrupted by Ramaga.
>>
>>23747648
I don't think that exactly matters. The Kikotei isn't necessarily tied to the armors that Kaos forged as it's existence long predates them and, by extension, Arago's as his armor existed in the first place as an alternative. Hell, the Kikotei being suits of armor is something that only happened within the last few thousand years. It takes form based on the users subconscious. And even if the armors were necessary for them, the DTS Armor Gears may complicate that as unlike the armor gears forged by Kaos, the DST armor gears are artificial.

To be fair, it does resemble a trident, then jumonji yari, and with is element being water-based, it's a fair misunderstanding. Plus, both weapons lack the gimmick of grabbing someone on the tip of his blade.

And the Suzunagi amrors spear also resembles a trident more than a jumonji yari even though it's not one.
>>
>>23752875
>And the Suzunagi amrors spear also resembles a trident more than a jumonji yari
I always thought it was more a three pronged naginata due to the blade shape. And it really was an odd choice for what should be a thrusting weapon to have blade curvature like that more optimal for cutting and slashing.
>>

Maybe they wanted Shin to also have the ability to grab someone with his spear, which we've seen him do a bunch in the show.

Probably Robotack? While he hates Olba Frost for his general character of being a Shagia worshipper (he no longer wants to say Onii-san after that), Robotack's kiddy voice two years later might be too stressful because he would voice the guy for a year, complete with him adjusting his voice to a deeper one in G-Shock Change. Worse of all, he'd also voice Toravolt, Robotack's twin brother, with similar voice techniques. Now that is frightening.

>>
I'm surprised the Divine World people casually told them where to look.
>>
Why are the new Troopers so lacking and unfocused compared to the OGs? Plus their enemies just stand by and watch them talk during battle? The old warlords would dog walk the new cast.
>>
Not sure how to feel about the 'abusive caretaker being abusive because he was corrupted by the mirror' explanation, but it raises the possibility of the Ronin and their allies getting corrupted by it to.
>>23755754
Maybe the writers are trying to draw a contrast between the casts? The OGs had their faults, but kept things together and were mostly competent. The new guys have their faults, can't keep things together and are learning to become competent.

I like the new series, but being a sequel does more harm than good for it. If it were marketed as its own series or advertised as an AU it might have been better received.
>>
>>23755754
>Not sure how to feel about the 'abusive caretaker being abusive because he was corrupted by the mirror' explanation, but it raises the possibility of the Ronin and their allies getting corrupted by it to.
It's not entirely unprecedented. Remember why Kaos had to imbue human virtues into the Armor Gears? It's all to inhibit and protect the humans form negative ju-ju magic shit gives off. The mirror just doesn't have that probably because it wasn't meant to be in close proximity of Humans for extended periods of time.

>Why are the new Troopers so lacking and unfocused compared to the OGs?
Probably because they've only had a months worth of VR training whereas the OG troopers all had a year of training individually to prepare for when Arago invaded.
>>
>>23755754
>Plus their enemies just stand by and watch them talk during battle?
Their purpose is not to defeat the troopers but to nurture Gai and turn him into a powerful vessel for Ramaga.
>>
Man the tone in this show is hard to keep up with. The same episode that finally elaborates fully on the child abuse backstory deescalates it immediately. But that kind of takes some of the emphasis out of Ryo saving the brothers in the first place.
Similarly, the bizarre choice to have Yamano Jun depicted as if he's spiraling from unaddressed trauma, only to immediately clear the air with a gag just makes me question why they took this path with the character at all.
>>
>>23756255
There are a bunch of Japanese fans who took the fat NEET Jun as trying to shit on the concept of the kid sidekick character and subverting what was in Message. Probably needed him to be pathetic for the new guys to shine.
>>
>>23756384
Is it really a subversion for the character who didn't accomplish much to not accomplish much later in life?
>>
Man they were really pulling in every direction at once with the orphanage backstory.
>The guy running the orphanage abused Yamato and Musashi.
>Wait he only abused them because for some reason an orphanage was used as the hiding spot for an artifact based on one of Japan's actual real world royal treasures.
>Actually Yamato remembers a distinct personality shift.
>Wait actually Musashi does too.
>Well either way he's being possessed by the badguys now.
>But then the mirror that made the orphanage guy abusive in the first place kills the badguy who was possessing him.
>Wait actually the guy running the orphanage was fully aware of the supernatural circumstances surrounding the ancient artifacts and their connection to the samurai troopers, which kind of removes the element of him just being an oblivious victim of circumstances.
Was there fumbling with the script behind the scenes because they were getting too close to a touchy subject?
>>
>>23752856
The kits are actually part of the existing 30 Minute Fantasy line. And that line is known for making upgrade packs for the base figures. It wouldn't surprise me if they are planning upgrade packs for everyone, and Musashi's would either give him a new weapon or give him some sort of add on for his knife, just like this kit gives you an attachment for the generic 30MF axe.
>>
>>23756431
They're rushing plot points because they knew they only have two cours of 12-13 episodes each. This is basically the fault of the current anime industry in general, which I wish they would make full 50-episode runs for sequels and the like but keep the 13-26 episode runs for newer short anime. It just sucks.
>>
>>23756773

>It's all to inhibit and protect the humans form negative ju-ju magic shit gives off. The mirror just doesn't have that probably because it wasn't meant to be in close proximity of Humans for extended periods of time.

This might could be an indicator of why Nasti made the deal with Ramaga to train Gai in exchange for sparing the OG Troopers' lives. She's had the jewel for who knows how long and she might be acting under the influence.

Yeah, it's so obvious. If he was just some oyaji who had no clue about the nature of random objects in his house, it could have been spun into a tragic story of children's lives being ruined for the sake of saving the world. That he was fully in the know and did nothing...it just makes him look even more evil than Ramaga.

And it seems he might feel like the head honcho of the zoo if that's the case. Inmei might have to show up at some point because we only know of knowledge for a good chunk of the first cour, but we don't know of the Four Beasts and everything about the Celestial Realm so far except creating the Haoutei. Not to mention Jun's fears will slowly be confirmed at the end of cour 1 that might need a deus ex machina to add new missions for the second half before Round 3 against Ramaga.

Yeah, their armours are more imaginative. But I get why they had to keep the trooper armours conservative - it would be unacceptable for a sequel to take too many liberties with the original.
>>
>>23757200
I mean, with Seiji, he has a chock-full of weapons for a single nodachi: an shining blade, a kunai, and a shuriken fused in a single sword, Shu's signature staff can break into three weapons held by chains, and Rajura is loaded with weapons: his four-pronged kama that can extend, a mace on the right forearm, and a nunchaku on the left forearm. Why they went minimalistic on the weaponry on both sides is because of the 30ML construction style: they are meant to be speed built in 30 minutes, and so won't go overboard on the weapons.
>>
>>23757029
Sounds better than the original IMO
>>
>>23757203
>Why they went minimalistic on the weaponry on both sides is because of the 30ML construction style: they are meant to be speed built in 30 minutes, and so won't go overboard on the weapons
For real? They base their designs on the plastic toys to be produced?
>>
>>23757206
The whole logic is toy design before show design, something already done with the original series when Takara designed those toys, which like I mentioned a few weeks ago explains the heel handles on the Undergear. But because the model kit construction is designed to keep the proportions accurate to the show while keeping the cross-compatibility with 30MF Silhouettes, they need a different sacrifice: the weapons. Though the Ten Demonic Braves' designs are still good enough for a 30MF build, we don't even know if they will make those guys, yet Ramaga is still fair game. We won't know yet if the Haoutei is meant for Ramaga the whole time and not Gai, but it's all a matter of what happens in the last two episodes (we are just approaching episode 8 right now, after all). Then again, I might ask for a Yoroigear-compatible body for 30MS kits to use anyway, even though the Action Costumes and some recent 30MS kits already accomplish the same thing.
>>
>>23757205
ASH instead of Hideaki Tokunaga? That's a choice. Back when the single was first released in 1990, one funny thing about its release was that it was delayed a day because primary student Dragon Quest fans would swarm music stores on Coming of Age Day (January 15, meaning the single was released on the 16th).
>>

Byakuen must be just vibing there because you really wouldn't see an immortal tiger simply just rolling over for that shit unless he was cool with it. Like, we already know he can jump like 30 ft and kill people so if he's there is must be because he simply chooses to be. Or maybe he's just depressed because Kaos is gone and Ryo's been missing for five years?
>>
>>23757278

The script and composition was done by one guy, Shogo Muto. However, how much of it was from him? Maybe the producers forced him to change his plans to the point we got this mess? Apparently, the second cour has also been written already so expect more subpar writing.
>>
>>23757200
I feel like they've taken a lot of liberties with everything in the sequel, except the protags armor.
>>
>>
>>23723033
Now that we are 7 episodes in, I'd like to do a timeline analysis in hopes that this connects the OVAs. Also, please excuse me for using names from Ronin Warriors.

>After convincing the U.N to not use conventional weapons against the demon spirits that are leaking out of Japan, Mia called on Ryo and the other Ronin Warriors to demonstrate their ability to defeat demon spirits, now with new blessed armor, forged by the now free spirit of Suzunagi.

>Soon after, the Japan branch of the U.N formed the DST and appointed Mia as the commander in direct orders to the Prime Minister. In exchange for Mia having access to tons of research, she has to come up with a plan to create barriers to contain the demons in their realm and ensure they don't invade the rest of the world. To do that, Ryo and the others came up with a plan to form the "Circle of Protection," which they used a long time ago with their new armor. Because they are purified and no longer tainted with the violent history of humanity, they can easily be used to create stable barriers that last for decades.
>>
>>23758816
>So, the Ronin Warriors succeeded in keeping the demon world at bay, but they no longer have armor in case there is a need to fight once more. To solve this, Mia remembered the incident with Shikaisen and the mad scientist in which they manipulated the armors with technology and sorcery. After years of studying and research based on the incident, Mia and the DST succeeded in recreating the original armor, and the Ronin Armor was used as a basis for the Armor Gear System.

>Shortly afterward, Mia discovered the Armor of the Supreme Emperor and the divine world, powers that may or may not be a new Inferno armor. In between learning of the armor and the divine world, Mia and the DST discovered two of the three sacred treasures in order to summon the armor in times of need. Ully, with hopes and dreams of being as amazing as Ryo and the others, became a Monk to communicate with the Divine world and hopes of safeguarding the sacred treasures. Some way or another, Ully failed and became a shut-in, but still could communicate with the divine realm in times of need.
>>
>>23758817
>Fast forward a bit, and the barriers started to weaken, and the Ronin Warriors were sent to investigate and stop any invasion. Ryo encounters Ramaga and is defeated while the other Ronin Warriors are MIA.

>Some MacGuffin that might be related to the demon world or the divine triggered certain children born 15 years before the present time. The government issued an order to find and raise the children affected by whatever MacGuffin that took place 15 years ago, which was the source of the Ronin Warrior program recruit a new generation of Ronin Warriors who are chosen with the jewel of conquest.

I might have missed a few details, but this is more or less the idea of how to tie in the ovas with the current episodes we’ve already had. And regarding the circle, the link below is when it was used for the first and last time in the series.

More like knockoffs designed to resemble the Kaos armor gears. Nobody that is not of Kaos' bloodline or a just a supernatural entity can create magic armor. Thus why the DST's armor gears are just power armor. The OG's probably are prototypes. But it is a nice way to explain why we don't see the Suzunagi gears. But even then, at the same time, it's a bit fucky because there's no reason to think that the Yoja World's entry is limited to just Japan unless the OG troopers dispersed their armors around the world in key spots to create a worldwide barrier around Earth.

>Nobody that is not of Kaos' bloodline or a just a supernatural entity can create magic armor. Thus why the DST's armor gears are just power armor
We don't know if they are just power armor, because if they were, then the butthead troopers we saw in the first episode would've worn them and not have to be chosen by the Jewel of Conquest.
>it's a bit fucky because there's no reason to think that the Yoja World's entry is limited to just Japan unless the OG troopers dispersed their armors around the world in key spots to create a worldwide barrier around Earth.
So far, we have no major evidence that demons of the Yoja were sighted outside of Japan events in Gaiden, and that only happened because Sage was on a trip to New York and ran into an evil sorcerer that learn of his Armor. Now that's not saying that demons don't exist worldwide in Ronin Warriors, but my basis for the armors only being used as a barrier in Japan is because the UN felt that the source of the Demon spirits exists there and prioritized containing it.

>Would have to be more than that if we're to take Ryusei and Shion into account since they were both 18.
I basically only added that because the rest of the new Ronin Warriors minus Gai, just happened to be raised in the orphanage, so I prepared a hypothetical plot on what the explanation we would get next episode, I expect to be completely wrong but, I just hope it isn't even more of a Saint Seya knock off plot with all the Broze Saints being raised in the same orphanage.
>>
>>23761348
>We don't know if they are just power armor
They literally have the same binary-kanji in their transformation sequence as the VR sequence. Also, they flat out say that Shion was the original designer of the DST's armor gears and Mirei had since made alterations. And we know she's the DST's chief mechanic. Those are pretty big indicators, if not outright confirmation, that the DST's armor gears are artificial. They're the product of technology, not magic. As it stands, the only person who can create new magic armor is Kayura. And we have no idea what's going on with her or if she's even still alive with Ramaga having risen to power.
>So far, we have no major evidence that demons of the Yoja were sighted outside of Japan
That's because Arago chose japan first. Originally because that's where he was from and had no knowledge of the rest of the world back in the Heian era. His goal, as well as Ramaga's, is to take over all of Earth. If they were only limited to Japan then I don't think they'd be as so brazenly intent as they are. Especially since everyone who dies goes to the Yoja World. Not just everyone in Japan.

I kept seeing visions of the imminent return of the Kikoutei in regards to the summer-fall cour. I would normally imagine Gai to wield the Kikoutei, but with him owning the Haoutei and the potential of becoming corrupted to the point of no return by Ramaga as the biggest elaborate trap ever made that could end the first season in the destruction of the world and a deus ex machina of reversing all the damage via time travel, if they won't end the first season with the world destroyed, I kept seeing someone else wielding the Kikoutei. It's Mirei, and with the iron mask of the Kikoutei not being able to stow away, the only thing that can tell you she's even wearing the armor is through her twintails poking out from under the helmet, of which we are used to seeing Shion having his long hair poke out of his own Senko Armor's helmet. Being real honest here, we are bound to eventually see the Kikoutei to be a complete counter to the Haoutei once the latter falls into Ramaga's hands.
