Aside from the main writer leaving, the other writer that worked on Skyrider's early episodes tried to branch out into directing at the time. Edzure was the third writer doing episodes for Skyrider already even before becoming the main writer.

Paradise Regained feels like a movie made for fans but in the worst way possible, just sticking in everything that people would want in a wishlist without any consideration for tone or pacing. Blood and gore? Check. Kusaka does the smile? Check. New girl OC rider? Check. Sex? Check. Also felt the Next suits were kinda wasted for how lackluster the fight choreography was. I get the whole thing was on a lower budget but for how much fanfare there was when it came out, it really felt like they could have put slightly more budget into it.

I still think Paradise Lost is the best KR movie, to the point where you could watch it standalone as a normal movie and it would still be good.

Yeah Paradise Regained just overall felt very cheap, it didn't even really have the same feel as the original show too like it felt like a TTFC special with how things just happened and everything looked plain.

I do understand V-Cinemas do lack movie budget, but Trio of Deep Sin was also a V-Cinema and it looked fantastic. Even Zero-One Others despite it being hated, does look fairly good and feels like a movie. I do think a better director would've given Regained a much needed visual and atmosphere boost. Kami can do quite a lot with budget restaurants, Tasaki maybe a classic but his directorial style is a bit plain and feels very dated on a lot of recent stuff he's worked on despite working on Faiz.

I'm also concerned about the new Agito movie too. It has a higher budget and the trailer certainly shows it, but also some scenes do look plain or ridiculous like with the G3s and the pingpong lady or the floating people. I don't have confidence with Inoue's recent works either especially with all the anniversary stuff he's worked on including Paradise Regained. I feel like the higher budget isn't going to matter very much with the Inoue/Tasaki combo and the movie may end up being very dull, but I'm just being pessimistic. I really hope Inoue and Tasaki decide to bring their A-game since it's a high budget production.

Halfway through Geats. Neon continues to be the biggest Mary Sue in Kamen Rider, she's outed as the Disastar but oops the DGP is on hold and she's back to being buddy-buddy with the other two dispite then knowing she tried to screw them over

I'm honestly losing interest at this point anyway, this show is now more a drama about TV producers than a story about a hero fighting evil. It's better than Zero-One at this point but I have no idea why it's so beloved. Maybe a hot take but Zeztz is miles better than this shit.

Newfag here, I want to see if I'm getting this right from reading wikipedia and pixiv.

The intended way to pick producers is that producers from any of the live-action division send a request to work on toku displaying their availability to execs and then said are supposed to review each one and pick from there. Then the way a producer is recommended to hire is a writer is to either pick a graduate from Toei's screenwriter training program or from a writer that has sent a request to work on toku to TV-Asahi.

However instead the producers are picked by execs kinda based on whims usually giving preferences to apprentices and if they pick someone from another division they have to work for a year as a secondary producer for a project in order to work as head producer. And producers pick writers based on friendship, with the graduates only being hired for specials and as episode writers.

Is this right?

Producers hire writers based on having connections to them. Usually that means working with them previously on other productions. It's not just friendship. For example Omori gave out spinoff material/two-parters to writers that he could work with which is where you got Takahashi and Takano from. The idea of hiring a random walk-in is rare and probably not a good idea. For every Shogu Muto, you get a Kinoshita.

I don't think The Lady's HQ is the same in both the dream world and the real world. In the real world, Nem has an IV fluid bag and pole that isn't there in the dream world scenes, and Nox apparently didn't reunite with The Lady until after he woke up from his sleep coma, despite showing up in the dream version of the HQ before.

Ryuta Tasaki has been really inconsistent in the last decade or so. He still has some good episodes sometimes, but then others pulls really bland crap.

Like compare the fighting scenes in Heisei Generations Forever (Kyohei Yamaguchi) with Over Quartzer's and those are both theatrical movies.

Heck, even comparing net movie vs Theatrical movie, just compare Legend's fighting scenes in his original net special or the tv show (Sakomoto for the tv episode with the Heisei Rider changes, Shibasaki for all other appearances) with the one in the Gotchard movie by Ryuta Tasaki which somehow had much less going on than his tv show appearances.

That said, Tasaki still pulls some good stuff at times. The Gotchard movie itself had a good atmosphere overall even if not as good as it could have been.

Was Kinoshita hired through the same process as Muto? In pixiv it says Muto sent a request to TV-Asahi and then Omori proceeded to hire him but it doesn't say how Mochizuki got Kinoshita's contact, only that Mochizuki likes Kinoshita's Nightmare volume series.
