So do places that don't. Saber was not a good show. I distinctly remember only keeping up with it after watching Kiramager and Zenkaiger to use as background noise. In my opinion something i feel diferent about it and what i feel diferent from orther Yuya Takahashi KR is that, Baku feels like *the only* Rider so far and the main one, Nox work as a rival rider but we never have his POV during the story and unlike Geats or Ex-Aid that the whole rider squads have focus from time to time, here Baku is the only one, feels pretty eeeh, individual?

I'm liking it so far, but it's not that impressive of a show, it's 7 for now. I really like Baku as a protagonist and I honestly like every character in the show except Nox so far, problem is that as much as I like the rest of the cast as characters they don't actually do much, it's basically how I felt about the cast of Gozyuger and every Sentai written by Komura. The direction is top-notch because the show has an insanely good pull of directors, but the action is kinda meh which is surprising for Watanabe, I guess either him and Kami don't gel well since King-Ohger was the only other time I found Watanabe's action to be weak or it's because Zeztz's suit actor is more of a stage actor than a suit actor and the suits in this show seem like they have very limited head mobility too. The quality in the cotw are inconsistent, the story so far is great aside of Nox but this is one of those cases where the story being slow is actually a detriment.

I blame Takahashi for most of these issues, even though I felt most issues on Geats and Zero-One weren't his fault but rather the producers', the vision Zeztz's producer had for this show is legitimately solid aside from the toys and he didn't have much of a choice when picking a writer since Takahashi came up with the dream Rider idea. Takahashi is just really inconsistent when it comes to going slow or writing cotw, like Lupin and Zero-One had great cotw and his live-action adaptation of Kindaichi Files was good in spite of being slow by his standards but in here he really didn't manage to make it work.

Kouta ended up one of my favorite titular Riders overall. It helps that he actually has a fairly believable show-wide character arc where you see him grow more mature over the course of the show. Yeah every protagonist goes through a lot of shit to the point that their Q1 self is very different from who they are by the end, but Kouta's development into that went a lot better narratively than most.

It's honestly kind of boring. We're halfway through the show and so far it feels like very little has happened until now. Nox is easily one of the worst secondary Riders ever and most of the supporting cast is just space fillers. The show focuses so much on just Baku that it's to the detriment of the entire rest of the cast and you wonder what purpose they even serve. I know it isn't entirely Takahashi's fault but insisting on the first half of the show having this structure and pacing has really held it back.
