Lady in the dress back there, Jenny, was being forced into an arranged political marriage (her family had planned it before she was even born and her uncle encouraged it and tried to force it early because she was growing too influential to control). She escaped from it after finding out information that would render it null and put her would-be fiance and uncle behind bars, namely that the former was a revolutionary leader trying to start an uprising to break away from the Galactic Empire, getting funding in part by her uncle. "Galactic Empire" is one of those catchall entities that you see in science fiction all the time, just like how a "Federation" also exists in a lot of them. BSP does have a Galactic Empire, which everyone in the show is technically a citizen of, but it only actually comes into play like once or twice.

The Galactic Empire is part of the series lore, different from though sharing some mostly coincidental similarities with the LOGH one. It unified the entire colonized Orion Arm and ended a war between the Stellar Alliance (a major regional power) and Colonial Federation (a rebelling force against it, which Marika's home planet was a part of) by annexing both into it. The last season of the anime actually has a princess of the Empire playing pirate hunter to test out experimental ships and because there'd be no legal ramifications against it (she ends up another girl pulled into Marika's harem after she gets defeated).

The novels expand upon it a bit more by showing more of the Empire proper; Marika actually gets training in with the Imperial navy. It also still holds distain for actual (non-privateer) space pirates, with a small group still holding out against the Empire even after a 100 year extermination campaign that wiped out most of the rest.

It's an actual entity called the "Galactic Empire" in the series itself, most of it basically takes place in the boonies of the Empire's proper territory. There's a princess from the Empire that goes around hunting the letter of marque pirates in the anime's last season with a ship that can Trans-Am.

Gunbuster's original plot would be about its return to Earth, getting stopped a bit before they reach Sol. Some like Reinhard would understand the political significance of returning the near-mythic heroes Noa and Kazumi to Earth (alongside Gunbuster's still near fleet-level strength even in their time) and effectively be helping work that into his favor, while also having something to give certain enemies of humanity pause. First half would effectively be a planet hopping trek that sees the route's chosen OG gather allies to get Gunbuster and its pilots home, galactic intrigue between the Empire, Alliance, Posaydal, Galra, the Silver and Bronze tribes, those seeking the Galactic Leyline, and more.

Earth proper is seen as a bit of a backwater, post-apocalyptic and a frequent battleground but on the slight upswing even as some factions around Sol start to cause problems like Zanscare, Jupiter, Doppler, the Terrarists, and more. In contrast to the interstellar route the OGs of the near-stellar route would be part of a group that's set on keeping many of the lost and unbelievably powerful forms of technology still around Sol from falling into the wrong hands, as things like the Turn-types or Photon Power or the Buster Machines could easily end up fuel to the fires that are the various interstellar wars.

The game's midpoint would be Gunbuster's return to Earth and meeting of the two OG groups, with things opening up significantly from there.

Both DLC 1 and 2 end with obvious cliffhangers (weird cat hanging around as DLC 1's last scene, DLC 2 ends with the reveal Exis' AI core was saved by the A.Advent and they will rebuild him one day).

Anniversary in April and they've already said they won't go back to annual releases so we likely aren't getting a game announcement.

DLC 2 also mentions several times the VXT OGs who are stuck in Y's dimension rather than just hoping the players forget that plot if they aren't planning to resolve it.

Thanks. Biggest change from my original old idea and this recent one is the inclusion of Delta and WfM, mostly because having Delta alongside Frontier would make for some fun interactions and link some plot points up (probably shifting Frontier's plot closer to the end of the series rather than the start), and some of WfM's setting could probably fit in decently well with some post-apocalyptic series and the slightly more mythologized and villainized status of Gundams (plus I'd imagine the likes of Garrod and Suletta getting along really well).

I also have some details on the OGs for this planned out, both characters and mechs along with some of the plot.

Thanks. Obviously I don't expect this to ever come to fruition, something of this scope and with some of the licenses needed would probably require a miracle to actually happen, but it's fun to think about nonetheless.

As for the OGs,

Four primary OGs, male and female pilots and a male and female captain. You'd select both pilot and captain before the route split (each are separate, so you could have male pilot + female captain, female pilot + male captain, male pilot + male captain, or female pilot + female captain) and then get a choice of Real or Super mechs, while the ship is locked to the route; the mechs are actually ancient/lost tech while the ships are more "modern" but still advanced inventions. All four will be capable of a kind of transformation gimmick, with each one having a different form they change to. Real-type has a wolf-like alt-mode modeled on Fenrir, while the Super-type has a dragon/serpent-like alt-mode one could vaguely say is like Jormungandr (with a large "tail" that becomes a massive and extending sword, for example). The ships meanwhile have mech alt-modes, with the Interstellar route ship being more of a giant weapons platform like Macross, while the Sol route ship is like a more close-combat Iron Gear.

Initial OG antagonist is a young woman with her face covered in a skull mask, with a giant yet more feminine mech that has a bit of a skeletal theme to it, fitting the protagonist pair in being based vaguely on Hel. This antagonist leads a team that seeks to recover what she calls the "stolen" Protagonist mech on the chosen route and pops up from time to time as a rival. As you can probably guess, the OG plot's centered on a coming "Ragnarok" igniting across the stars

If you look at this old merch, like this OST, it credited Sunrise and the station that aired the show. Same goes to the old toys. But modern merch (and SRW) only credits Sunrise for the copyright.

Thanks though, it's not like this is a thing that'd ever see Banpresto bring it to fruition, and until we start getting actual dedicated modding communities around SRW things like that are gonna be a long ways in the making (Y being made in Unity might've helped the potential but I'm yet to see anyone really do anything about it; last we got in terms of any actual modding was that anon working on 30 having both protagonists around). Still, it's fun to imagine, and dabbling in it helps cope with some series remaining never evers.

Well, it's because the story starts near the final battle already. Banpresto has always been rather inconsistent with how they handle episodic super robot series anyway.

Look at SRW R. The only Mazinger Z kikkaiju was the Hurribyun V6, which was basically the "final boss" in the anime (although the Mycanae from Great Mazinger are there with more units).

It also had the Dragonsaurus (from the Great Mazinger x Getter G x Grendizer movie) in spite of having no Grendizer or Getter G.
