We haven't gotten the financial quarter report yet, but presumably it's doing worse because so far there hasn't been any toys selling out. For example, as bad as Gozyuger sold, the TegaSword itself still managed to sell out in some shops, no such reports so far for Gavan. Also 2 toy stores reported that they're shelf-warming, while those are only 2 stores presumably everywhere else are probably going through similar stagnations so it will probably be the worst selling Reiwa toku so far, although keep in mind that it will also be harder to compare since Gavan will only air for 23 episodes but still it will probably sell worse, hell Q2 has significantly less toys than any Reiwa Sentai according to listings so far.

Usually the show's director will discuss with the score composer what kind of tracks they might need and how many, they'll plan it out as a numbered set, and that set will be the "menu", sometimes not all tracks will be produced to release, sometimes there'll be another recording session and they might assign some different code to that setlist, and usually when released to public they'll make up some thematically fitting titles for the compositions, but occasionally they'll just label them with internal numbers.

The idea is that they might have higher audience retention if the shows in Project RED are tied together and you have the heroes teaming up on tv.

The better question is why they're trying this with Project RED, not with Rider, but I guess there's more space to messing with the formula in core ways with a new franchise that's attempting to rise from the hole created by Sentai than something that's doing well right now.

Note Gavan shows clear signs of further reduced budget (like reusing the mold of the main swords, cast being split into separate episodes, one monster suit for the motw). Kids don't know what Gavan is and old Gavan fans were skeptical about this since the start since it's not like the Gavan from their childhood and they're way too old to care about childrens' toys. Even in here, most /ssg/ migrants didn't have an attachment towards the OG Gavan and haven't even watched it. They gained nothing from making this show Gavan.

The problem with Infinity is that it's trying to be both a Space Sheriff and a Rescue Hero series at the same time and kinda failing at both. It doesn't have the pulp sci-fi and sheer weirdness of Gavan proper and doesn't have the emotional investment and crazy-ass scenarios of Exceedraft and its peers. It's too...NORMAL for a Metal Hero series and that is a shame.
