easily the lamest Tamers episode, which didn't live up to the hype. the fight itself was annoyingly short and dumb and didnt include any of the battles we were expecting to see. the whole episode was subverted into pointless and humorless mush, which Tamers has no idea how to handle properly. that is why he hamstrings himself with extra restrictions and then just cancels the whole event off with the death of Spike. you can read between the lines how much he didn't want to do it. tbdesu, he handled the fight and banter between opponents even worse than in WWIII. the whole ToP segment felt like a huge redundant joke with a weak punchline
we could have had a power contest between Knuckles and Sonic because they were competing in SU. we could have had Manic and Starlight together because they both are the butt-monkeys of the groups. Flora could have used her mind-bending powers. Twilight and Pinkie could finally show off their dragon powers. Flawless could have used her mirror dimension. Mindy could have actually fuck somebody. hell, I would have taken Bartleby fucking Sonic for 40min straight into ass to revert time AGAIN for the sake of funny meta jokes 8 or so years later. but nope, nothing happened. a very generic fight without any actual consequences or stakes. a missed opportunity, the episode
as for the second half - it felt like two different episodes were stitched together with a 50% intermission cut. the extra lore segment when the episode suddenly hits the brakes was unnecessary and came out of nowhere. he made the same mistake when he made Trixie a god and then thought of a clumsy excuse to justify it. plot twists for the sake of twists are not clever; it means the author has no integrity in the story and throws stuff at the wall to shake up the status quo. but here he cannot maintain integrity even for a single episode: Flawless's mindset jumps between horrible cunt and bitchy tsundere literally within the course of one minute
the two best parts are at the start when Sonic assembles the team - the whole bitchslapping with Trevor was funny. And the final credits scene where all three ponies drink apple pie juice, which was wholesome and hit the right emotions. the change in Flora's personality, with her autism being forced into your face for laughs, was a step down from her characterization in SU when she wa a bitter and resentful pixie who smiles outside but hates everyone inside. this new direction was clearly influenced by how he handles Shining's daughter in MLP. and yeah, I know why he did it - because Flora is fans' favorite and generates clicks and positive reactions from viewers, and clumsy but wholesome retarded characters are crowd's favorite. but I am glad he reverted Flawless back into a bitch. when she started wearing those whore legwarmers - that's when she was dead as a character and became another furry-bait. it was a lame episode. not going to pretend otherwise. 2/5

And this isn't something she has to activate, it's a natural defense mechanism. She is literally an un-killable being.
