Cyclists are just better people, morally, ethically, and emotionally. You'll notice the rudest and most toxic people are in the aviation threads, followed by the urbanism and boat threads.
Train people are nice too, but they post so rarely they're almost invisible now.
>>2047063 this and only this 95% of posts written on this webshite are made exclusively to make other people angry, so if there isn't anyone to piss off, why bother?
>>2048007 You need to sometimes have gay thoughts and sometimes have straight thoughts in order to experience the bicycle. For example thinking about Sagan puts the gay in my head and I have to go ride bicycle until I'm tired and then I forget about the gay stuff and I'm straight again.
>>2047624 It was nothing really, had to rev her good to get past quickly and safely on an uphill. Little smelly diesel. >>2047997 ur mam... It's a small car. A group big enough to be a nuisance should stick to the sides of main roads.
>>2047059 My first time on 4chan back in 2007 was here on /n/ and that's how I discovered Sheldon Brown. Hipsters riding fixies were all the rage back then. Good times.
>>2047059 >friendly Try asking something about disc brakes or carbon frames and they want to literally strangle you with their onions powered 50kilo twink skinnyfat bodies
>>2052185 They moved my electric train thread to a "/test/" board that doesn't even exist, the only reason I haven't made a new one is because I haven't gotten any progress in clearing out the room I'm going to build my setup in, so I don't exactly have any new pictures to post anyway
>>2052292 Remember that model railroad foamer who used to post his trains here a lot in the early daze of /n/ who later died and it turned out he was a black guy in his 50s or 60s who worked for metro north or something? What was his name?
>>2047059 Endorphins are supposed to make you happier - and thus friendly. btw, the most friendly and laid-back forums on the internet are that of pipe-smokers. You don't find a single choleric smoking a pipe (they're abundant among cigarettes smokers obviously)
>>2047065 I spread seething hatred in the plane and urbanism threads against child raping car brained (R)etard subhumans while posting normally in bike threads Where is your god now?
I have a pretty strong hatred for cagies, I'm not going to lie. Car centricity is modern day Satanism and debt slavery in one go. I hate how ignorant and humble smug the average cagie is too. >"Oh you're gong on the bus? Stay safe..." >"Are you sure? I can just drive you there.." >So when are you buying a car?" They make every day 20% more insufferable since their so invested in their financially illiterate satanic cult theirs literally can't function imagining walking for 20 minutes, but no. It's the governments fault you're living paycheck to paycheck and unable to save and everyone else are just inferior because they don't worship 1920s credit propaganda. In fact, what we need to do is frack MORE for cheaper gas so you can keep paying hundreds a month on a deprecating asset. That will lift people out of poverty for sure.
So yeah. I'm a proud cagie hater. Esp that includes my own family, country and community.
>>2056598 >>2054633 where do i discuss cigars? I just got into it and damn its nice, I wish i had started with them decades ago instead of disgusting cigarettes (They are still ok for raving/clubbing and talking with strangers).
>>2058073 Your friends and family are just worried about you becoming the news story that is public transportation. You will be killed if you ride public transport long enough.
im nooooticing that a lot of the posters here clear ly >live on the west coast >have never experienced inclement weather >have way too much money >can consoom their way out of any problem >think they know a lot about a niche subject >have a smug sense of superiority about their sheltered affluent coastie lifestyle where it never rains or snows and they wfh (assuming they work at all) so they don't even commute on their bike, just ride it on the boardwalk or fed park trail for insta updoots
basically it's a board full of people who have never experienced hardship in their entire life so ofc most of the posts are "happy"
>>2054530 >it turned out he was a black guy in his 50s or 60s who worked for metro north or something? unfathomably based
>>2062224 Im a poorfag from a third world country where it never snows but has retarded rainstorms and terrible roads I experience more hardship in a day than probably any of you posh slack-jawed pink-cheeked cookie-cutter pencil-pushing office-dwelling frape-slurping brain-storming left-leaning well-educated well-fed faggots ever did in your entire lives.
>>2062222 And you are much safer in a car (the leading cause of death in the first world) If the news cycle stopped for every car death the way it does when someone gets assaulted in the bus, it would be car crashes 24/7.
The smaller boards are always nicer. Compare >>>/diy/, which is helpful, with >>>/g/, which is visibly mentally ill. My main board is >>>/sp/, which is the most fun but it's full of incredibly repetitive spam threads. You could also compare >>>/co/ cartoon threads to >>>/tv/ cartoon threads. One is comfy and interested, while the other is frantically trying to just yell NIGGERS as many times as possible.
>>2062879 can confirm, i post in /ck/, /g/, /diy/ and now here and the larger the board the more mentally ill. but that's a good thing because the big boards will happily tell you you're wrong even if you're not, and then you will spend a lot of time learning to gather evidence for your opinions, to defend clear facts, and to even prove where you were or were not at a given time.
>>2047059 >Why is /n/ in general so much more friendly and cordial than other boards? I've been on this site for over a decade and just found out you guys exist
>>2067017 >>2062879 >>2047103 >>2047067 >>2047066 All of these. And more adults. I bet the average age of this board is past 30. Also, I'm pretty sure the mindset that makes someone interested in transportation topics makes you a bit more socially liberal (rather anons want to admit it or not) and therefore or a bit more "agreeable".
>>2062213 Cigars are ok if you never plan on having sex ever, or if you are in a situation where the consent of your sex partner is optional, but the stench will permeate everything in your body, your clothes, everything you own. Odor wise they are like 10x worse than cigarettes.
>>2047059 /n/ doesn't stick out in the navigation links at the top and bottom of the page. This reduces the number of anons who stumble in accidentally or through curiosity. And honestly, things around here can be a bit of a hugbox and bubble, with those whose opinions don't match a certain narrow narrative dismissed as trolls. In some ways that attitude is understandable. I've seen /n/ topic raids on many boards like /g/, /diy/, /v/, and even /pol/. Doubt more than a handful of those are actual /n/ posters, it's just a convenient subject to get anons mad at each other. The discourse hardens attitudes leading to veterans of those threads becoming a bit testy when posting here. OP, from experience elsewhere, I can tell you that you're dooming yourself and us with this type of thread. While that certainly wasn't your intention, communities that call attention to themselves for being cordial soon find themselves the target of trolls seeking new frontiers.
>>2047065 Imagine being a low IQ normgroid that doesn't enjoy bicycles, planes, trains, ships, cars and any form of transportation "pick one side only!!!!" cucks are brain damaged
