I got my first ride of the season in the day before yesterday on the CB1000. I tipped over stopping for a rail crossing like a retard because I just had the clutch cable adjusted and wasn't used to the friction zone yet; I was stopped on an incline and had throttled into the rear brake, but the clutch plates weren't grabbing yet where they ordinarily would have. Some of my amateur shit habits came back over the winter.

This aged injury disparity is what initiated a clamp on learner-to-full licensing in NZ.
Desk jockeys that learned on 5hp, 500cc bikes hitting midlife and jumping on a 600 with one gorillion horsepowers and necking themselves.

These have been fairly effective in attracting females.
I've been very successful in sperging my way out of those situations unscathed.

>>
>>28861438
Took the pilen to the dealership and it was aboslutely full of new bikes
tried sitting on a 701 sm and it's stupid tall even if it's on 17 inchers,
the 390 enduro R seemed as tall as the 701, the SM one was perfect height for me but i don't want another sumo.
then i saw they had a drz and i tried sitting on it but man, i only had like my toes touching the ground with half my ass off the seat and the bike was still angled and on the kickstand, at least i had a chance to try and i can confidently say without some height reduction i definetly can't ride that. too bad they don't carry honda stuff if i had the chance to try sit on the crf i would at least tried all the bikes i've been watching recently

Is this a stupid idea? its clear so obviously its not great for "hiding" the bike, i could throw a tarp over it to keep the light/heat out

Is this a retarded idea?
>>
Suzuki is the best brand.
>>
>>28861956
Absoulutely not stupid if it can keep it safe from wind and rain. I just use a cheap tarp, it keeps the bike hidden, I don't think people think there is anything expensive under it. But they might IDK, its cheap and it works.

would it make more sense to get a 2015 r3 with 10k miles for like 3800 or a 2023 with 2k miles for 5000? will sell when I’m a grown up rider and can handle an r9 or something.
>>
>>28862282
Just get the r9 and don't be stupid. You'll get the feel for casual riding in a day and just stay off the highway until you feel ready. How much do you weigh? If over 170 you have nothing to fear.

Been a while since I’ve had a t shirt ride. Temp hit 80 and the air was just too good, went riding blasting tunes and singing in my helmet all down my favorite coastal roads. Was throwing heart hands at other riders instead of waves and everyone smiled at me. Got like 3 fist bumps at lights and not a single old person grumpy at me.
Good vibes, good day, riding in just a t shirt in weather like this feels like being in a pool but you’re also on a crotch rocket. I love motorcycles

>>
>>28862282
personally Id say get older one but they are fine either way
especially if you plan to sell and swap for R9 or even R1 later
this isnt chink bike where you stuck with the bike until the end of time
you can just sell it to cope back some cash into new bike if you buy them used
newer bike have more meme shit like traction control abs or whatever so its more forgiving probably?

the main reason I suggest older one cause if you plan to swap them out then its probably to buy them at price floor so you can sell them for minimal loss when you are upgrading to r9, unless you crashed it of course
5 years from now a 2015 r3 will probably sell at around 2.5-2.8k still even after you add another 5000 miles on it so thats about 1k lost in value
meanwhile the 2023 will drop from 5k to like 3.0-3.5k so thats 1.5k+ lost
but then again the different is in couple hundreds so its really doesnt matter
and Japanese bike at 10k mileage is barely just finished its run in
or maybe a lower mileage less beat up bike is better for you + you get all the fun new tech like ipad screen

I have owned literal mopeds, vintage Vespas, and big ass Harleys. They all attract girls, just not the same ones. The biggest difference I guess is that I was a young 20-something guy excited to be in a social setting when riding Vespas. Girls liking my bike back then meant I got laid. I'm now an antisocial middle aged dude, and the only girls who like my bike genuinely like my bike and aren't looking to get plowed by the 50 year old guy with "weird uncle" vibes riding it. The one exception was a woman my own age who was trying to find a second husband. She ended up marrying a dude who looked just like me, so I guess she had a type, but I wasn't looking for a second wife, so there it is.

This guy had a AGV K6S, which is not the insta helmet. Your picture is also a K6(S). The K6 is just a lightweight, relatively affordable, sport/touring helmet.

The insta helmet is the Pista GP (picrel), which costs somewhere between 1200 and 1800 euros, depending on the version.

how do i stop being so shit at offroad riding, do i absolutely need to start on a lighter bike

Dear anons please help me fix my baik that is cranking but not starting.

I believe the problem is that the spark plug isn't firing. I've replaced it, but that didn't fix the problem. Now I guess it must be an electrical problem (but dash, head and tail lights work). I can do regular maintenance myself but I'm otherwise a noobish mekanik. Any tips on how to proceed?

Are your lights dimmer than usual?

Is your battery fully charged.

If your battery is charged, and your lights are dimming then chances are its your Stator / Resistor on the fritz. Which is normal, especially if it's not a brand new bike. Cheap fix, relatively easy. New stator and resistor and whatever gasket(s) you need for the cover(s) you removed to get access to it.

You could also check the spark plug wires to make sure they're actually hooked up proper after checking the spark plugs themselves

>Idk how lame you gotta be for shaming a relatively good helmet
Google says that the AGV iRides helmet is "good" but I hate it because it creaks constantly which pisses me off. I'm wearing this helmet for ten hours a day and while I can say that it's reasonably comfortable, all I can hear is this fucking creaking and I have to hold my head perfectly still when people are talking to me or I can't hear them over the creaking. I can't even hear my own thoughts half the time.

Maybe it's just this model that AGV sells but in my experience (with this one model) I have to say that AGV are shit.

>Are your lights dimmer than usual?
No.

>Is your battery fully charged.
Yes. In fact I've drained cranking it and then hooked it up to a battery starter to keep trying until I gave up for the day.

If the engine is cranking doesn't that mean the starter motor is fine?

>You could also check the spark plug wires to make sure they're actually hooked up proper after checking the spark plugs themselves
Added on the do-to list, thanks anon.

STATOR
not
starter.

And don't forget the rectifier.

Your motorcycles charging system, NOT its starting system.
To test it, you can use a voltmeter (look up a video) or you can just inspect it visually and if it's burnt black or has pieces falling off then there you go.

I didn't fail but I only got one question wrong in the written test and it was because I was being too cautious.

>What would you do if you were in the right lane and you approached a stationary car in the left lane with it's right indicator on
My answer: I'd merge left, slow down, and let the car complete it's u-turn manoeuvre.
Because in reality; cars that are stationary in the left lane have their hazard lights on and only turn on their indicator when they are about to attempt their u-turn. So I have to assume that this car didn't see me and is about to turn across in front of me. But that was deemed to be incorrect by my instructor because I'm supposed to simply ignore the car and continue on in the right lane.
>>
>>28863694
I'd avoid the accident.
I bet that isn't a multichoice answer.

I'm with you. IRL I assume that guy does not see me and is about to hook out in front of me. I'd rather assume a cager is homocidally retarded than risk being technically correct but declared dead by paramedics at the scene. I would at least slow down and do The Wiggle™ to enhance my visibility.

The only redpill i have for you is two
One is, you can get medical insurance to 100% cover the cost of these, had a stealership lady tell me this once
And secondly, only medical ones are gonna fit you, larp tier ones might offer some protrection but not at the same level as medical ones "fitted" to you in a sense, theyre adjustable to a degree but its like orthotics for the soles of your feet
You get what you pay for also with non medical ones, so if they pair you found are comfy at first feel, rememver youll probs be sweaty and are going to cinch up whatever textile youre wearing if theyre not comfortable already

If you have medical insurance for a write off, id get a pair this way, its the best option

I would agreed with most anon that
the list should be
Helmet > glove > boot > jacket > pants
but on some region where its hot, sometime people grab a jacket first
anyway going around in 125cc scoot and dress up like a biker will make you look like a mall crawler (which you shoulnt care)
personally I would get something like an armored hoodie, with the thin armor insert like the new d3o or sas tec pad, you can wear it all day even
but if you are scooting you should have space to put any kind of jacket under the seat anyway so thats moot

how are FZ/MT09's? thinking about trading/selling my bikes for one. barely ride my VFR1200 and my gen 2 SV650 is fast enough but just barely
>>
>>28864362
>FZ/MT09's?
Best bikes on the market rn.
>>
>>28864364
i had an FZ1 and it was a stellar bike, got the VFR after with the factory hard bags because i thought i'd be touring with it, never did. the 650 is a tiny bit slow since I've owned a handful of litre bikes. i recall early FZ09's had budget suspension but they're otherwise well praised, i've also never owned a triple

No daddy issues, she loves her dad. She is not dumb. She is the best girl. She does not scheme or fool others and profit from them. Rin is not evil like Onsa. Suzuki girls are the best looking, no contest.

Tuens out road 6's aren't memes. Now I just have to get rid of all the god awful dot compliance stock parts

I hope that norton can have the same kind of revitalisation but given how much it's being astroturfed, I suspect it's another bugman cash grab wearing a venerated manufacturer's skin as a suit

a youtuber told me that insert pad are useless
should I take it off my gears?

Explain this bullshit. Why kawasaki couldn't rotate the engine forward and increase ground clearance that way? Why the fuck there's hand sized holes in the motorcycle???

Idk man, the MT-10SP is 8k cheaper and lighter and has more cylinders and better quality

>anon HATES anything being even remotely accessible in bikes
>>
>>28864417
There's nothing accessible in those wholes, they are just there because kawasaki engineers were lazy faggots or their managers budgeted it to be a piece of shit for retards.

Can you recommend an affordable motorcycle for a beginner to ride in city and using the same bike to go on vacation to Portugal or something? So windscreen etc. but it shouldn't be huge like Vstrom (that I like a lot).
>>
>>28864426
AJP PR7
>>
>>28864431
Are you kidding me? It's a dirt shitter, while i need a bike for city 80% / touring 20%, or close to that. I shouldn't also look like a clown on it going to my office.
>>
>>28864423
You're going to lose your shit when you see an old bike with how much empty space there is visible
>>
>>28864438
Good bikes made in portugal, inexpensive to buy and maintain, and they tour just fine. Do dirt bikes have a negative reputation where you live or something?
>>
>>28864464
You either have to be a teenager, or a enduro rider (offroad not allowed in EU, only tracks), or a retard to ride a dirt bike.
>>

Dam, what a miserable place

Both autistic grills in their own way, both high tier waifus (i prefer Onsa she is so fluffy!)

>>28864426
get your favourite flavour of naked and put a windscreen on it and soft luggages when you want to tour, remove windscreen when touring time is over and you want to use it as commuter.

Get the Yamaha Diversion XJ600, cheap , small and enough power
>>
>>28864470
This is a pretty good suggestion. Windscreens are not really necessary unless you're going long distances on the highway
>>
>>28864426
Yamaha R3

simple as this
here are the benefits
>Yamaha
>R
>full plastic
>smol and strong
>economical
>looks cool
>Onsa
>can be bought new or used
>reliable
>>
>>28864478
85+ mph gets uncomfortable in a piss pot helmet 100 or so and you would like a fairing to hide behind. It's a good job that both of those speeds are illiegal on most of the planet.

always japanese
anything japenese
why?
cause you can sell it when you find out what you likes later
chink bikes are great value but you wont be able to sell it without losing 50% of its value compare to weebs when you end up not liking it
this also apply to cars

I'm thankful for your responses and now feel bad because i don't really like anything you've suggested lol

>piaggio maxi scoot
Honestly would be great for city but not for tours and i don't live in fr*nce or italy where they are common

>ninja/r3
Sport bikes tho, the office ladies would make a joke out of me for coming on a acid green kawasaki. Also don't like the seating position

>some street bikes with carbs
Too old bro, come one...

>japanese
Fully agree

I wish we would have something like picrel with 400cc, I'd be putting a windscreen when needed and otherwise enjoyed an amazing motorcycle

The Yamaha XMAX comes with a windscreen pre-installed from the factory.

The Buell Super Tourer looks like a low poly Play Station 1 model. I can't decide if that is cool or ugly.

Today my mom said i needed a proper waterproof jacket instead of my leather one and so she bought me a really cool one (dainese hekla).
Do your parents approve of your motorcycles and are supportive or are they the kind that hate the fact you ride?

That anon was looking at new chink garbage on Amazon. If you go used, for the same price, you'll find high quality gear from name brands.

Have you ever ridden one? A supermoto is perfect for a city bike. On second thought, don't.
