I got my first ride of the season in the day before yesterday on the CB1000. I tipped over stopping for a rail crossing like a retard because I just had the clutch cable adjusted and wasn't used to the friction zone yet; I was stopped on an incline and had throttled into the rear brake, but the clutch plates weren't grabbing yet where they ordinarily would have. Some of my amateur shit habits came back over the winter.

mid 50s(possibly 60s) boomer who hasnt ridden for 10+ years
goes out on 20 year old tyres
tries to cut across 2 lanes to exit a motorway
blindly behind a truck
almost eats shit into the barrier
but instead just grabs a handful of brake and dumps his bike
and to top it all off
the retard bought the tiktok helmet
people like this are why insurance prices go up every year
fucking retarded boomernigger ruined a nice bike, so he could try and pick up 18 year olds on tiktok after his bitchwife left him

This aged injury disparity is what initiated a clamp on learner-to-full licensing in NZ.
Desk jockeys that learned on 5hp, 500cc bikes hitting midlife and jumping on a 600 with one gorillion horsepowers and necking themselves.

lol glad you read into it, whenever I see one of these posts that say “been riding for 20 years” I always check to see their mileage and every single time it’s less than 6000 a year. Wish I could find the post of the guy with the 06 gsxr that had its clutch plates fused together from sitting for so fucking long

Took the pilen to the dealership and it was aboslutely full of new bikes
tried sitting on a 701 sm and it's stupid tall even if it's on 17 inchers,
the 390 enduro R seemed as tall as the 701, the SM one was perfect height for me but i don't want another sumo.
then i saw they had a drz and i tried sitting on it but man, i only had like my toes touching the ground with half my ass off the seat and the bike was still angled and on the kickstand, at least i had a chance to try and i can confidently say without some height reduction i definetly can't ride that. too bad they don't carry honda stuff if i had the chance to try sit on the crf i would at least tried all the bikes i've been watching recently

Absoulutely not stupid if it can keep it safe from wind and rain. I just use a cheap tarp, it keeps the bike hidden, I don't think people think there is anything expensive under it. But they might IDK, its cheap and it works.

Been a while since I’ve had a t shirt ride. Temp hit 80 and the air was just too good, went riding blasting tunes and singing in my helmet all down my favorite coastal roads. Was throwing heart hands at other riders instead of waves and everyone smiled at me. Got like 3 fist bumps at lights and not a single old person grumpy at me.
Good vibes, good day, riding in just a t shirt in weather like this feels like being in a pool but you’re also on a crotch rocket. I love motorcycles

personally Id say get older one but they are fine either way
especially if you plan to sell and swap for R9 or even R1 later
this isnt chink bike where you stuck with the bike until the end of time
you can just sell it to cope back some cash into new bike if you buy them used
newer bike have more meme shit like traction control abs or whatever so its more forgiving probably?
the main reason I suggest older one cause if you plan to swap them out then its probably to buy them at price floor so you can sell them for minimal loss when you are upgrading to r9, unless you crashed it of course
5 years from now a 2015 r3 will probably sell at around 2.5-2.8k still even after you add another 5000 miles on it so thats about 1k lost in value
meanwhile the 2023 will drop from 5k to like 3.0-3.5k so thats 1.5k+ lost
but then again the different is in couple hundreds so its really doesnt matter
and Japanese bike at 10k mileage is barely just finished its run in
or maybe a lower mileage less beat up bike is better for you + you get all the fun new tech like ipad screen

I have owned literal mopeds, vintage Vespas, and big ass Harleys. They all attract girls, just not the same ones. The biggest difference I guess is that I was a young 20-something guy excited to be in a social setting when riding Vespas. Girls liking my bike back then meant I got laid. I'm now an antisocial middle aged dude, and the only girls who like my bike genuinely like my bike and aren't looking to get plowed by the 50 year old guy with "weird uncle" vibes riding it. The one exception was a woman my own age who was trying to find a second husband. She ended up marrying a dude who looked just like me, so I guess she had a type, but I wasn't looking for a second wife, so there it is.

This guy had a AGV K6S, which is not the insta helmet. Your picture is also a K6(S). The K6 is just a lightweight, relatively affordable, sport/touring helmet.
The insta helmet is the Pista GP (picrel), which costs somewhere between 1200 and 1800 euros, depending on the version.

Can I have a first bike recommendation. Something between 700 and 900cc. I drove with an MT07 at the driving school but I want something else even though it's the perfect beginner bike. My dream was pic related but I'm going to leave it for later since it doesn't have any screen and it annoys me that it doesn't.
My budget is around 5K/8K€.

In normal roads its not so bad, but the bike is so god damn heavy that whenever i cant get a foot down in a hill offroad the bike ends up on the ground

Dear anons please help me fix my baik that is cranking but not starting.
I believe the problem is that the spark plug isn't firing. I've replaced it, but that didn't fix the problem. Now I guess it must be an electrical problem (but dash, head and tail lights work). I can do regular maintenance myself but I'm otherwise a noobish mekanik. Any tips on how to proceed?

Idk how lame you gotta be for shaming a relatively good helmet (only downside is cost)
>>

Are your lights dimmer than usual?
Is your battery fully charged.
If your battery is charged, and your lights are dimming then chances are its your Stator / Resistor on the fritz. Which is normal, especially if it's not a brand new bike. Cheap fix, relatively easy. New stator and resistor and whatever gasket(s) you need for the cover(s) you removed to get access to it.
You could also check the spark plug wires to make sure they're actually hooked up proper after checking the spark plugs themselves

>Idk how lame you gotta be for shaming a relatively good helmet
Google says that the AGV iRides helmet is "good" but I hate it because it creaks constantly which pisses me off. I'm wearing this helmet for ten hours a day and while I can say that it's reasonably comfortable, all I can hear is this fucking creaking and I have to hold my head perfectly still when people are talking to me or I can't hear them over the creaking. I can't even hear my own thoughts half the time.
Maybe it's just this model that AGV sells but in my experience (with this one model) I have to say that AGV are shit.
>>
>>28863145
>Are your lights dimmer than usual?
No.
>Is your battery fully charged.
Yes. In fact I've drained cranking it and then hooked it up to a battery starter to keep trying until I gave up for the day.

If the engine is cranking doesn't that mean the starter motor is fine?

STATOR
not
starter.
And don't forget the rectifier.
Your motorcycles charging system, NOT its starting system.
To test it, you can use a voltmeter (look up a video) or you can just inspect it visually and if it's burnt black or has pieces falling off then there you go.

Beginner rider here. Thoughts on this affordable motorcycle jacket. I only ride in a traffic ridden city in a 125cc motorcycle so I don't think I need to invest much. Most riders here don't even wear a jacket just wear t shirt.
Also looking at cheap Amazon helmets thats ECE certified.

dropped the bike during the emergency stop. not really sure how. instructor said I had the handlebars turned which didn't make sense to me because it's all a straight line. I'm guessing I just panicked and jerked too much as I squeezed the brake.
even if I didn't do that I probably would have failed on points because of how poorly I did on the U turn

Emergency stop is "stopping quickly in a controlled manner". 30 feet is perfectly good because the highway code tells you your reaction time ought to be 15 feet and your stopping distance 30 feet.
Don't go for ten feet, just don't.

Dirt tyres on a dirt bike on the road is absolutely useless.
Motards are the cars you see struggling on muddy fields that cruised a thousand miles to get there.

I didn't fail but I only got one question wrong in the written test and it was because I was being too cautious.
>What would you do if you were in the right lane and you approached a stationary car in the left lane with it's right indicator on
My answer: I'd merge left, slow down, and let the car complete it's u-turn manoeuvre.
Because in reality; cars that are stationary in the left lane have their hazard lights on and only turn on their indicator when they are about to attempt their u-turn. So I have to assume that this car didn't see me and is about to turn across in front of me. But that was deemed to be incorrect by my instructor because I'm supposed to simply ignore the car and continue on in the right lane.

I'm with you. IRL I assume that guy does not see me and is about to hook out in front of me. I'd rather assume a cager is homocidally retarded than risk being technically correct but declared dead by paramedics at the scene. I would at least slow down and do The Wiggle™ to enhance my visibility.

The only redpill i have for you is two
One is, you can get medical insurance to 100% cover the cost of these, had a stealership lady tell me this once
And secondly, only medical ones are gonna fit you, larp tier ones might offer some protrection but not at the same level as medical ones "fitted" to you in a sense, theyre adjustable to a degree but its like orthotics for the soles of your feet
You get what you pay for also with non medical ones, so if they pair you found are comfy at first feel, rememver youll probs be sweaty and are going to cinch up whatever textile youre wearing if theyre not comfortable already
If you have medical insurance for a write off, id get a pair this way, its the best option

Open face is not a good idea if you are ever considering falling off.
The first time I watched the road grind away the visor on my open face helmet I decided full face was the future.
Faces are quite convenient for things like putting food into, speaking to people and similar such activities.

I would agreed with most anon that
the list should be
Helmet > glove > boot > jacket > pants
but on some region where its hot, sometime people grab a jacket first
anyway going around in 125cc scoot and dress up like a biker will make you look like a mall crawler (which you shoulnt care)
personally I would get something like an armored hoodie, with the thin armor insert like the new d3o or sas tec pad, you can wear it all day even
but if you are scooting you should have space to put any kind of jacket under the seat anyway so thats moot
