I get why they went back to the Golf 7 steering wheel after all the feedback, but it does look a bit out of place with all that glossy plastic touchcrap everywhere.
Wasn't there even a class action lawsuit for accidents caused by the glossy steering wheel touch buttons?

Yeah, anything's got to be better.
The touch slider crap is like an idea out of some quirky Chinese kitchen appliance or something. In a device like that, they might just barely be tolerable because you don't have to use it that often and when you do, you're not trying to drive a fucking car. And when you get sick of it, you can throw it in the e-waste and go buy something that doesn't suck.
I don't think the car fits in the e-waste bin.

It's weird cuz Skoda is the designated budget brand but they won't migrate the better dials into the mainsteam VW lineup
my sweet good what I wouldn't give for a car with at least 8 dials to control things that actually has a grippy, knurled surface and detents for the different settings
this press release suggests the smart dials are from late 2024

Vw is transitioning to the id polo interior across the entire lineup, but assembly line changes only happen during summer and winter shutdown.

they just gave up
the meb platform (which I assume the "id polo" is based on) was created hastily in the wake of dieselgate, was not well received initially, and hs never improved

Well, I'm seeing what appear to be physical AC switches, what could be a volume knob and even four buttons for powered windows.
Wonder how badly they cheaped out on the rest of the platform, spending a fortune on luxuries like that.

>they just gave up
it is propably the best looking and most practical interior since the golf mk2.
>and hs never improved
what do you expect, incrementally improving the platform is retarded since the entire point of using a platform is keeping the BOM small across the entire group. Most of the additions are governmental requirements, like the trunk cam, sfd 2 and crash break assist
Fundamental changes will happen with the next one, ssp

Eh, BYD did the same thing, row of identical switches, it's still nowhere near as good a setup as chunky dials and lots of real buttons on the console and steering wheel.

>they gonna give u a REAL new platform soon
in 2035
