Albums that either evoke imagery of being in nature or are well suited for an /out/ing. I'll start: Fishmans - Long Season (1996)

I love that album but I'm not sure just because it is folk it is out. There is a lot of city imagery from this album. Bridges and lampposts, sidewalks and metro tunnels, advertisements and news broadcasts.

Love this album, it really captures the feel of the the wilderness in northern Scandinavia.

I really like Camel when I'm in a weed smoking mood /out/, usually I go find a nice high perch to overlook lesser mountains nearby and listen to White Rider/Nimrodel and get fucking blazed. I had a big vulture come fly down and chill out with me for a bit one time, he was super interested in my JBL.

Dispatch
Modest Mouse
Fleet foxes

Great thread, I want to contribute with Missa Gaia / Earth Mass from Paul Winter
https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mlLBzm6G7F8BUrHlCp9Wt24Rx9 YO0a8HQ
It's a mass dedicated to nature and is performed every year on October 4, the feast of St Francis and also World Animal Day
> It features the instrumentation of the Paul Winter Consort along with a choir, vocal soloists, and the calls of wolves, whales, and many other animals that are woven into the pieces, sometimes used as the melody: The "Kyrie" is derived from the call of a wolf, the "Sanctus" from the songs of humpback whales. Man literally learns how to sing from animals. Missa Gaia is a mass that is equally ecumenical as it is ecological. It involves all voices of the earth.

Robbie Basho's Visions of the Country is also almost entirely about an appreciation of nature, from whimsical to deeply substantial
my favorite song is this one: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YYaGChm8RWw
> blue crystal fire, burn brightly in me
> smooth singing sunshine, wrap your blanket 'round me
> fast blowing waterfall, wash my tears away
> deep within the forest, there I wait for you
> deer with silver antlers, come and dance with me
> sweet smiling moonbeams, be my rhapsody

G'day chums.
Fief - II is extremely mossy sounding dungeon synth. Absolute cool season innawoods banger of an album.
I'd also highly recommend anything by Norman Blake. But particularly these albums:
-Directions
-Whiskey Before Breakfast
-Blackberry Blossom
-Fields of November

Folk music, especially from the British isles can be very atmospheric. I feel any electronic music is just plain wrong to listen to in nature. I'll also play the music out through my speakers so it blends with the natural sounds of the /out/ing instead of blocking it off with headphones

Bushwhackers band without any doubt.
Most albums are good, but "Murrumbidgee" holds a special place for me when out bush.
'Billy of Tea' when you're by the fire sippin some brew. Or 'When the Rain Tumbles Down in July' whilst you're going through muddy fern filled rainforest, is absolutely fucken incredible.

Shin Joon Hyung and Jang Hyun's "Beautiful Rivers and Mountains" is /out/ as it gets. Similar environmental patriotism to "This Land is Your Land" except they got arrested for making it and its psychedelic rock

Just listened to Sauna by Mount Eerie and was not feeling it man. Actually sounded pretty industrial to me, opposite of what i feel when /out/. Has almost a MoozE vibe to it. You got any other recs of his?

Matthew Halsall - An Everchanging View. The entire album feels like a walk through a sun-kissed meadow.

Based Takanaka appreciator. I'm partial to An Insatiable High, though that may just be the cover art getting me in the mood to roon. But Seychelles is classic.
