Namba AND Nodoka won. And most importantly TJPW won. The promotion has grown a lot in the last few years. Having two successful shows on opposite sides of the planet on the same weekend isn’t something the other promotions are doing

There are a few Vancouver anons here or former Vancouver residents. I'm the one who lives in Japan, I drop by from time to time but the posters in these threads drive me away. I decided to stop in today since the Vancouver show was running. There is one who seems to dispise numbers, I'm not a fan of hers but don't throw vitriol her way. I'm never a fan of people that move to another country and make it their personality. Don't wish her harm but I'm not interested in what she's doing.

I rarely mention it. In the last thread I was answering questions about Canada and Vancouver and it was related to the questions noting that I no longer live there. When I do post on social media it's not things like "in Japan we do things like this" nor do I weeb out and try to emote and act Japanese.I respect local customs and such but I don't go overboard in an embarrassing way. It's just a country that I happen to live in. I'm just a dude living happily with my family.
>>
>>20228458
You've only mentioned it five times across two threads and got so upset by the idea that someone didn't think you were in Japan that you went out to take a picture of yourself in Japan but it's definitely not your personality and the way you're defining yourself.

Kamiyu posted an IG story apologizing for leaving her meet and greet early because she's lazy and didn't want to wait around? Did she not have a line? She said if you want to meet her, come early tomorrow instead.

Then what happened? I figure maybe they went with the Japan style lines, where they only stick around for as long as people are waiting, but the fact that she had to put out this video makes me think that wasn't the case. She says she got a gift from a fan that she appreciated, so she must have been around for at least a little while. She didn't just bail, but then she put the video out saying she left because "I didn't want to wait, I'm lazy queen Kamiyu".
My dog, they flew you out to Vancouver and Vegas for this. It's day 1 of a week of travel. Maybe she's jetlagged.

I was responding to someone else's reply in relation to the tickets for the show being handed out for free. A reoccurring motif on these threads is that people think it's just one person replying. I was stating that there are multiple people here that live or have lived in Vancouver, I was also trying to say that I'm not the "namba is fucking everyone and doing drugs" poster I see from time to time. Hard to prove on an anonymous forum though. One anon tried saying that I was a hypocrite since I was mentioning that my personality isn't based off of just living in another country. I have many hobbies and interests that define my personality. Living abroad is just a small part that I try not to put to the forefront too often, I mentioned it twice in the last thread because it was topical to replying to questions asked. Anyway this clusterfuck of a thread is confusing as hell. Hope you have a good day amigo.

I'm curious. What got everyone into tjpw? I'm super casual following, mainly get my info from visiting threads here once or twice a month. I found out about it from my friend who is a photographer in Tokyo. He worked a few tjpw shows and I was curious of what the hell was going on from his pictures. He does many pro wrestling and MMA events. I sometimes tune in to see if I can spot him. He got me comped tickets to a RIZIN event once, got to meet Bob Sapp. If he offers me tickets to tjpw I will go.

idk if larp or not but stardom is the biggest for sure. compared to tjpw it's a workrate fed, you'd have story lines, feuds, turns, factions while tjpw is more straight forward player A faces player B and a lot more comedy/fun stuff
>>
>>
>>20229427
No larp here friendo. I don't have time to follow much wrestling these days. With my business, training and my family it's rare that I have time to browse threads and chat like today. I attended a few stardom shows back in 2018. So attending a tjpw show is more of a comedy wrestling show compared to stardom then from what you are telling me.

I wonder how they will do internationally after the "everything Japanese is cool" trend dies down. I can start to see the number of western tourists dropping here since everyone and their dog came after the COVID era.
>>
>>
I haven't watched TJPW since Maho Kurone and Reika Saiki but I'm really wanting to get back into it now. What would be the best place to start? Any help is appreciated!
>>20229262
>>20229360
Oh, you live in Japan? Whereabouts? I've got a few friends over there.
I assume your partner speaks English because you can't speak Japanese.
>>
>>
>>
>>20229509
My wife and child are fluent in both English and Japanese. I can speak some but it's hard responding in time to random conversation that I'm not prepared for.
If I know what type of conversation I'm getting into like say visiting the mechanic or city office I'm not bad.
I live in the south so I've been adapting to the local dialect. It always confuses people in Tokyo when I speak Japanese in a southern accent using various dialect specific words. It's always funny when I catch people talking shit because they think I'm a tourist, when I respond in Japanese slang throwing it back at them they are dumbfounded.
>>
>>20229517
It's been a slow day as I said before. Got everything I needed to get done finished yesterday and my kid was with the grandparents most of the day. Now the family is sleeping and I'm still awake. Can you recommend any all time classic tjpw matches?
>>
>>
>>
>>20229538
That's not me homie. I don't use Twitter, that place is a cesspool. My reading comprehension is Japanese is trash but I know that if there is anything important in writing my wife will help me. Translation apps are trash I agree. It was funny today, I was using Google lens for translating a sticker on my chainsaw relating to chain pitch. It translated to "chain bitch".
You can choose to believe me or not, I know what life I'm living. Hope you have a great rest of your day.
>>
>>
>>20229567
You said in a comment above that you post here once or twice a month and people always run you off because they don't believe you.
Okay.
Here's your chance to get over and prove everyone wrong.
Post actual proof of your claims.
Can you do that or will you deflect as usual?

I first got into wrestling in summer '20 through a combination of my friend getting into it, a youtuber I follow talking about it, and watching Asuka's youtube channel. I started watching WWE first because it's what I was familiar with and I liked Asuka. But then immediately the Kabuki Warriors broke up when Kairi left, and Asuka didn't seem to be around that much. Then I came across that match between Yuka and Brit Baker, so I decided to check out AEW. Revolution '21 dampened my interest, and I gradually fell off watching AEW. But I enjoyed the women's tournament they had had, and I especially enjoyed Maki Itoh. So I began watching That's TJPW, and I haven't missed a show since around summer '21. My first live TJPW show was GP '23, and I followed that up by going to their first US show in LA. Seeing them live really cemented my fandom. I considered getting into Stardom, especially when Kairi returned, but I just didn't have the time. I sometimes watch other wrestling. I'll be watching Wrestlemania this next week. But TJPW is my #1.

The best place to start would probably be Ittenyon '26 or Grand Princess '26. That will get you up to date on who holds what title and the current pecking order
>>20229513
No, but Shoko worked in Mexico again recently through MLW and CMLL's partnership. With TJPW international push, I wouldn't be surprised if they run a Mexico City show at some point in the near future

Boredom, fuck all to do today because of the rain. As I said before, I came to this and the last thread because I was interested how the Vancouver show was going since it was right down the street from where I used to live. I pop in these threads a few times a month for the laughs. People can call me a schizo or a liar but it doesn't phase me.

All good my friend. Anonymous board so it's hard to prove things. It was kind of fun going out for the pictures. I'll take another pic of the mask tomorrow infront of a convenience store or other shop. Hope tomorrow's show is decent, when will they head to Vegas? There are some cool tourist things in Vancouver I hope they can enjoy before they leave. Someone should let them know about Belgian fries on commercial drive, that's my favorite poutine in the lower mainland.

Definitely not as popular as before. Still has a core fanbase. Lots of old people still watch when it's on tv. My neighbour who is in her 70s loves old wrestling from the 1980s and 1990s. I'll drink beer with her and watch old Inoki or Bruiser Brody matches with her and drink beer. She is awesome. She complains about current wrestling calling the new wrestlers frauds.

Tjpw's own twitter was like "Cherry Blossom, purported to be from Japan" like they didn't believe her. It was such a weird post. Is it a fake Japanese gimmick, like Kendo Nagasaki? She was hanging out with Namba right after she moved to Canada, I assumed she was Japanese.
>>
>>
>>
>>20231085
That would explain it. They always pack extra gear when they do these tours, and a lot of time it's older gear. With Miu changing her body, I guess she's too big to fit.
It'll be fun to see the Battle Royal Full of Miu match in a few years, with everybody dressed like her.

In her line of work, it is a bit surprising that she hasn't gotten them yet, if ever. Super jacked ladies with bolt ons to accentuate their figure is de rigueur in both body building and pro wrestling, though maybe she's natty and doesn't feel she needs them. She's clearly womanly with that ass.
