Thought they'd sit back and defend like bitches again. But they actually put them to the sword and kept pressure. Who would have known keeping scoring threats in the game would actually help you win. Tottenshart stayed defensive, didn't commit to counters. Arsenal didn't get involved in scrappy midfield battles. The more direct style really shone through today.
>>
The ode to gyokores goal that we should've seen way more this season, funny how we destroy teams when we are positive and play one touch quick footy, those brentford and wolves games along with that disallowed spurs goal hopefully finally taught Arteta the lesson that offense is the best defence instead of giving possession to garbage teams and conceding retarded goals
>>
>>153629011
>destroy rivals in a pressure game and putting pressure on them to not drop after they've gone the whole year without a PL win
>hurr don't celebrate
Sick of the yiddish media and it's gaslighting, but that'll make winning the thing that much sweeter with the media seethe along with /sp/ seethe

How many times this season have we hoped that he had learned his lesson, only to go back to 90 minutes of horseshoeing the next game?

I actually don't know, I thought ode would go back to his 23/24 form with a proper striker to pass to and it took till this stage in the season to see something that looks very promising on paper actually applied
>>
>>153631702
It's too risky. It's up to the ref then to award or not. There was a situation where Spence literally had both hands on sakas shoulders like a zombie for ages and no call right in front of the lineref. Ya can't rely on refs to make the right call. Muani had his number today and cooked him. Could've had a red if the ref was a meanie.

It's incredible this guy took this job to basically be the balkan fall guy
This is an unprecedented level of idiocy
This isn't a fire it's a nuclear meltdown he walked into
If spurs stay up it's because west ham was somehow worse, but they're completely done as a club
>>
>>153633941
Lots of teams have depleted squads. We had an injury crisis last season to the point where we only had 2 fit attackers in the entire squad with one being fucking sterling who's worse than all spurs players combined, but we still finished in the top 4. Spurs get a few injuries and they caputulate.

Last season we had either the 2nd or 3rd longest injury spell of all prem teams. You're forgetting guys like white, odegaard, Gabriel, havertz, saka (and maybe some names i missing) were out for 3 months at a time.
>>
>>153634179
It's a absolutely impressive he's a top 5 striker In the EPL
Beyond haaland who was gene doping and now fell off the face of the earth and the Brentford giy who's on a garbage team, there are no better strikers than what arsenal has
Pretty good for someone the media was saying was the worst signing ever

We started the year beaten by manure. They outplayed us. We got by on a rice-calafiori goal. Arse had a shitton of luck this year + the merino talisman. Owen goal, fucken fartismelli channeling the brasil in opportune times, set piece oles, the raya supersaves out of nowhere, trossard clutchness. Martinelli cant lob a keeper on the ground from 5 yards to give us crucial game winning goals but he does it to donnarumma with pure no-look panache from the 18. We got some luck this year boyos, but i know were mexiCANs not mexicants.
>>
>>153634401
We're getting less luck than any team I've seen in a title race in recent memory. I mean fuck, if there's anything that football fans unanimously agree on it's that refs seem to always favour city. Liverpool fans will never stop talking about that doku high boot.

>...He was upset, even with me, because I didn't play him in the other day from the beginning and some of the decisions that I made. And I start to understand how we're going to get the best out of him now.
>>
>>153634476
I agree. Its about the same amount of luck as Loserpool last year + salah being shitted on by the gods every match. I rival watched those shitters nearly the entire season, i couldnt believe how lucky they were, but they never ever gave it up. My point was, we can do it, if we go for it the luck is there. Fartismelli will score the goal if he just goes for the brasilian flair and not the shitter safe option.
>>
>>153634671
I disagree, they got a ton of luck last year and had the most penalties awarded in all of Europe at one point when arsenal didnt get a penalty at home all season iirc. But yeah we create our own luck.

for me, this is a golazo
does anyone that is from "espanola" can is chime in with thoughts?
for me, it's a golazo it is not so incredible and unique like a zlatan goal but
what is remarkable is how clean it is, it's a golazo because of how lethal and precise the strike is there is zero friction it's a pure goal so for me that's why it's a golazo

Yeah, if he is within arms reach from a defender its already over. They pull and push him in all directions ruining his link up play and a chance to score. Refs dont care. Can't really understand you people.
Are you implying that Eze hasnt been just a shit as Odegaard? Many times much worse actually because Odegaard presses at least.
What is wrong with these Ezesexuals?
What more do you want? Do you know he has the third most minutes played after Saka and Gyokeres? When will you be satisfied?
No one is happy with a shit Ode you moron. But that really doesnt negate Eze being shit.
Eze will surely play at this stage of the season if he is on form and that's what every Arsenal fan wants, the best 11 to actually win anything. But this fucking fanboying is insane.
Have you forgotten about Eze's performances since the first NLD? Has he played up to your standards since then?
If your one option is shit and the other is vomit, the first doesn't really make the latter objectively good .

Why do I even bother with little idiots like you?
You can't even read basic ESL text. You cherrypicked stats that dont show how many minutes there 2 have played and 5/7 Ezes goals have come in two matches. You do realize that kinda changes the stat a bit? That it isnt 100% what it looks like?
Also how can you be so poor at reading when I speficically mentioned that inform Eze should start compared to Ode?
Many people like you are just beneath me desu, pick a book on how logical arguments work and become better at reading in your native lang because this is sad.

Chelsea looked like garbage against Burnley. Forfana got sent off for being a retard. Burnley was playing through their midfield and getting good chances. They defended well against Chelsea. If they weren't shit they'd have won that. We're talking a team who LOST to Mansfield fucking Town. Chelsea couldn't roll them, it was 1-1.
>>
>>153648433
You are right. I'd take Eze for Chelsea but they've both been shit. His goal against wolves was down to poor defending, he was garbage that game. If he can maintain form it'll be a game changer. Odeshaart is too inconsistent to risk starting at this point. Arsenal need to splash the cash for someone who's world class this year and very reliable. Imagine if they pulled off a heist for Bellingham. Don't care how much it'll cost. This is why they need to win something big thus year. CL or league, ideally both. Make it a team world class players want to play at.

BREAKING: The Premier League is considering launching its own Netflix-style streaming platform.
The idea would allow fans to watch every single league match and choose any game they want, whenever they want.
The service could cost around £10 per month, be available in 188 countries, and may also include matches from past seasons to create a full archive.
[@Guardian]
About time.
>>
>>153660837
Pretty sure I read something a while back that said this is unlikely to happen because the league's current deals are so massive. I think they've got about 10 billion in current deals? I can't see the EPL's current partners being happy if they were to offer this service seperately, unless the new deals in a few years time are much cheaper.
>>
>>153660837
>>153660890

>>
>>
>>153660890
They already offer it in certain countries. All you get is commentary during the game but no analysis and stuff, so it explains the cheap price. The networks will still be the go-to for most people though.
>>153660896
They will. People are paying 30 quid a year for illegal firesticks which is lost revenue for them. Even a tenner a better than nothing.
>>153660976
Look at DAZN. People said that was too good to be true too. But it offers free boxing and some of the biggest fights. And also other sports like every serie A game for £15 a month. TNT also has a serie A contract here so more proof that the subscriptions can exist alongside major TV networks despite showing the same content.
>>
>>153661212
>They will. People are paying 30 quid a year for illegal firesticks which is lost revenue for them. Even a tenner a better than nothing.
But what about Sky and TNT, they've paid a shit ton for the rights and if they offer most games for a tenner a month why would people sign up to them.
>>
>>153661235
That happens all the time though in TV and movies. Sky pays for movies on their sky movies channels but you can also watch the same thing on streaming platforms like Netflix and whatever. Its a common occurrence. Or boxing again as another example. You get major boxing fights which are simultaneously on sky/TNT and DAZN. There might be a bit more politics in boxing due to promoters being aligned with networks but it proves the networks and streaming services can coexist at least.
>>
>>153661235
>>153661258
And actually to add to this, they won't necessarily be direct competitors because you'll still need Sky and TNT for all the other sports they offer like champions league and all that. Probably worth noting the £10 might be a mobile only subscription and/or 720p streams with Sky/TNT retaining the rights to the UHD feed. There was another sport which did that but I can't remember what it was, maybe NFL with their game pass thing but don't quote me on that.
And finally, exclusive rights are slowly dying away for more market competition e.g. like what we're seeing with highlights. Sky, TNT and BBC are all allowed to put highlights on their own YT channels despite a game being exclusively only on one channel when live. BBC Sport YT channel even has CL highlights now. So there is a clear trend away from the old business models.
>>
>>
>>153661350
There could be a high priced tier from the off which offers dolby surround, HDR and the back catalog of matches the Guardian mentions. I wouldn't read too much into the £10 price because it almost certainly will be a no thrills subscription tier. But it'll bring in all those people who are too poor or unwilling to pay the high prices the networks already ask for.

Real Madrid have made an enquiry about Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães.
However, the Spanish giants were swiftly made aware that luring him away from the Emirates is not an option.
Gabriel, who committed his future to the club with a new long-term deal last summer, was among the first priorities addressed by sporting director Andrea Berta, who has moved decisively to secure Arsenal’s key assets.

I've been seething about the lack of accessibility for a while. Some games you can't watch in the UK, bit you can watch in somalia and india. That is unacceptable. Add to that how expensive sky is and the fact games are split across 2 providers so it'll cost about 80 a month to watch most, not all, premier league matches. If you're an avid sports fan maybe it's worth it. If not, you're illegally streaming.
Sky are clearly feeling the pinch because they've got the government cracking down on illegal streams. When you've got such a monopoly and you 0rice people out of watching ENGLISH FOOTBALL which is the fabric of society, you deserve everything that comes your way. It's disgusting business practice. A system like the streaming from PL directly is the best thing they could do. People will pay for it, it makes it cheaper and more accessible. Only concern is the fact every streaming company inevitably pumps prices up higher and higher. But we'll cross that bridge.

No, its what we need. Decentralise from the monopolies like sky sports. Give people an option to watch the prem WITHOUT spending 80 quid a month. The less control companies like sky have the better. Their prices are absurd and you have no choice to just watch football, you need the whole package. More options the better.

Okay, some news titbits I gathered from here (figuratively speaking) and there:
Insides:
>Merdeshitter and some guy named Ellis are OUT
>Maurizio Michel is IN to directly help the Berta
>R. Garlick (can't not think about Dragon Ball villains whenever he's mentioned for some reason) is the top lad now
>the board adds people like: Kelly Blaha, Otto Maly, Dave Steiner, Ben Winston
The Team:
>Saka, Saliba, Big Gab, Nwaneri, MLS, Timber, the Kaiser, Decs - all are/will be given new contract extensions
>Odourfraaud NOT considered for contract extension in the immediate future (still has, like, two years left and already, like, 28 so...)
>Jesus not seen as part of the Arsenal future
>Benny Blanco on the OUT shortlist as well
>Hincapie to be made pernament (£45m +10% off next sale to Bayer)
>left wing and midfield targeted for strengthening in the near future (reckon the summer window, innit)
>Arteta GUARANTEED to stay at least to the end of his current contract (end of 2027 AFAIR)
Outsides:
>Senny Mayulu (midfield, PSG)
>Ryan Fofana (forward, RC Lens)
>Ivan Fresneda (BB stand in, Sporting)
>Ousmane Diomade (defender, Sporting, €80m)
>Julian Alvarez (€120m offer made back in the summer) SNUBBED
Any thoughts on this, /arse/?
>>
This is the best path to the end of the season:
>smash Chelsea 4-0
>win next fixtures comfortably
>lose carabao Cup final
>doom and gloom
>beat shitty 3-1
>straight away lose to Newcastle 4-2
>scrape wins together and narrowly win the league
>all whilst tottenham get relegated
>get to the CL final
>against tottenham
>massive hype
>go into half time 3-0 down
>win 5-3
>beat city 2-1 in the FA Cup final
This is the best storyline for this season. This would be absolutely insane. Arsenal could finish 4th for the next decade and I'd be satisfied.

Good for you, la.
Just how reliable are those services anyway?
>>153662520
What you propose is a way firmer monopoly at the very source. Sky, C+, Benin, Viaplay, whatever only broadcast signal that is being produced by the league itself. With-out them (to a degree, I am aware that normal, fair market rules do not really apply anymore) there is literally nothing to stop price gauging and with no more ridiculous "broadcasting rights" fees being pumped into the league by the middlemen either everyone on the Planet Earth would have to get the ten quid special (apocalyptic countermeasures would be employed).
I myself am quite fine with the current status-quo.

They work flawlessly 90% of the time. When it fucks up its usually because of people leaking the special URL used for connecting to the IPTV. But when its working its usually fine because they offer multiple streams of the same channel from SD to UHD and HDR which is neat.

when someone is on a hot streak like eze. you dont sub him. you sub the shitter like zubi, and you either go like for like ie norgaard or if you want odegaard then you move rice into dm and eze left. its really not that hard. if you want more d just tell someone to stay back more.

Fresneda only if white leaves. Which sucks but if his body can't take the amount of matches required then he would have to go sadly.
The midfield question is definitely another zubi type player. Although I wish norgaard would get more minutes to close out leads. I do think MLS will be tried at rices spot but only after a LW is brought in. Another LB will be in after the bigger needs.

Last year? You mean when all of Arsenal forwards were injured, to the point they had to play Mikel Merino up front, and the team was so depleted by injuries they had to bring a 17 and a 18 yo kid from the academy to start the matches? That last year?
>>
>>153667516
Weird considering that every team can easily knock out Arsenal
Getting Home games on the 2nd leg is a literal curse
We're not good enough to do 2nd leg comebacks, we work by capitalizing off momentum and no home game make arsenal come back from a 3-0 loss at the first leg
>>
>>
>>153667516
Watching the quality of matches in the CL recently absolutely arsenal can win it. It'll come down to mentality. Which they also can have as we saw in tottenham. It they carry the form, everything is possible. Arteta vs Pep, in every competition would be based. They're winning something this year. Whether it's the CL or PL or BOTH. This is the year.

The Premier League has finally decided to cut out the middle man by launching its own direct-to-consumer streaming channel in Singapore — a move that may signal the end of a decades-old broadcasting model.
Dubbed ‘Premflix’ when it was first mooted in 2020, Premier League + is a six-year joint venture with existing league partner StarHub and will start operating in the Southeast Asian island state from the start of next season.
Speaking at the Financial Times’ Business of Football Summit in London on Thursday, Premier League chief executive Richard Masters said: “We’re going direct to consumer in partnership with StarHub, who have a lot of existing customers.
“It will be a new app that you can download on your smart TV or laptop. You’ll be able to watch 380 games a season, with lots of shoulder content and a 24/7 dedicated channel.
“Will it be replicable elsewhere? That’s what we’re going to find out.”

Bukayo Saka to CNN after signing his new contract…
“On my side it was an easy choice, the club is going in the right direction, for sure, we have an amazing team and we are back fighting for every trophy. There’s no place I’d rather be.
“[That loyalty] comes from many places. From my love for this club, for the trust they have put in me, from the connection I have to the team to the staff to everyone upstairs at the club, to the fans; Emirates Stadium is my favourite stadium to play at no matter how many times I play there.”
“[Mikel Arteta] has been pivotal for me, crucial to my development. I have become a much better player under him. He has trusted me a lot and I’m very grateful, always.
“People ask me what I want in a coach. It’s him.”

Interest from the “Big Six” is intensifying in Jack Hinshelwood.
Manchester City and Arsenal are understood to be leading the race, with Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta both valuing young, homegrown profiles.
Liverpool and Chelsea also see the Brighton midfielder as a strong long-term investment.
With his contract at Brighton & Hove Albion running until 2028, the Seagulls are negotiating from a position of strength.
Brighton would demand £40M-£50M — a fee above current market value, but justified internally by his age and versatility.

REPORT: Viktor Gyökeres is close to triggering a performance bonus for Sporting CP, according to O Jogo.
The striker’s contract includes €500,000 (£430,000) payments for every 20 goal involvements he achieves. His recent double against Spurs has brought him near the first milestone.
This is part of a broader deal from his €63.5m (£54.6m) move to Arsenal, which could see Sporting earn up to €10m (£8.6m) in add-ons over time. The Lisbon club has already collected €1.25m (£1.1m) from earlier performance clauses.

@FabrizioRomano: “Arsenal’s main focus is on the trophies they can win this season, but in the background, there’s always talks, discussions & things happening. One thing I can guarantee is that Arsenal will work on midfielders in the summer.”

“Arsenal are considering the possibility to do something NOT just in midfield, but at right-back & also at winger. Arsenal are going to be active in the summer, the work behind the scenes is starting.” [YouTube]

>White is too injury prone and timber is being run into the ground because of it.
White only became "injury prone" after he came to Arsenal and even then he only really became crocked last season. Before that he was pretty reliable. And it's exactly because he too was ran into the ground that we're in this situation. Odds are Timber will reach that stage next season or the one after. If not this season.
>Mosquera
I was honest to god amazed that Arteta subbed him on against Sp*ds. After Timber played the whole match against Wolves even though he got a knock in like the 10th minute and was limping around, I figured he'd play the whole 90 again against Sp*ds. That yellow card was really a blesssing in disguise.
>he's mainly a CB

BREAKING: Arsenal will avoid PSG, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich in the Champions League until the final.
The Gunners will face Bayer Leverkusen in the round-of-16, then Sporting CP or Bodo/Glimt in the quarter-final.
If Mikel Arteta’s side progress to the semi-final they will face Tottenham, Atletico Madrid, Newcastle or Barcelona.

No worse than 2003/04 when both Porto (Man Utd, Lyon, Deportivo) and Monaco (Lokomotiv, Real, pre-Abramovich Chelsea) faced one only good team each.

Arsenal to win it all. They topped the league phase undefeated, lead the betting odds at ~+370, and have the depth to handle Leverkusen and beyond. Tough draw for everyone (Real vs City is massive), but the Gunners look unstoppable right now.
