Mostly the basics - he needs to work really hard to get Transformation and Clone up to snuff so he can actually graduate. He also is probably going to be much more invested in medical jutsus since that's the best chance of getting his vision back.

Leigan isn't the most social guy, but he can put that aside for the sake of getting stronger or learning something new. His style is supposed to be a mix of short and mid-long range with taijutsu and ninjustu, but right now it's mostly just chains and rupture slash at different levels of intensity. If he manages to lock down an enemy he can just drain them to death, but he can be aggressive and is supposed to be fairly mobile. I guess he would be a good combo with long range fighters, or sneaky builds, by holding down opponents so they can hit them easier. If he goes berserk then that's the only option. Someone like Sumio would be good for the ranged part, with 2 people restricting movement the opponent is probably not in the best place and depending on the situation Liegan can ignore the terrain by kinda spidermanning around and creating a web that only he can touch. Personality wise Sumio seems to appreciate someone doing the stuff he doesn't want to do, like actually punching people, and Leigan understands being lazy, especially because he wasn't allowed to be.
For the second version, Ayane seems the more compatible, since he can activate traps at a distance with his chains and try to reposition the enemy into them by grabbing them too. Personality wise they are probably just tollerating eachother, he doesn't hate her but it doesn't look like either of them would open up any soon, chances are she figures him out first, then it's out of my hands. They share the hobby of reading and pseudo crafting, but she may be offended by what he considers crafting.
Being near him in a melee is probably pretty scary for allies, he doesn't have the kind of control to avoid friendly fire yet but he does his best as long as he's not slipping into madness so it's not completely unviable. Worst case scenario he can switch to his chain sword/chain punch mode, not optimal but better than draining his friends by mistake.

Lucas can barely take care of himself right now, let alone taking care of a particularly smart pet during a murder tournament. Barring some anime shenanigans, like finding a small pokemon being bullied and saving it so it gets attached, he's not planning to catch anything. As for what, I kinda like the idea of a Ghost type for obvious reasons, or a big dragon type that starts as small and cute just because Lucas would still consider it small and cute no matter how big it gets. Actually, an Aggron with shiny metal armor could be a cool companion, but not one he would search for still.

The will of the Hosts changes by the day, and they warp the Badlands to match their vision. New Zones rise to replace and overwrite the old, but sometimes the Hosts save a few minor details for later.

Six was an artificial Boss Mob from a rejected Zone, kicked between sci-fi areas before ultimately being scrapped entirely - testing showed her to destroy the region or destroy itself before the Players even found it, which wasn't any fun.

Placed in containment to serve as a Hidden Encounter, one Host decided to make a change at the last moment. A player profile integrated, some powers altered to fit the setting aesthetic while others replaced with more limited synergy, and enough humanity injected was enough to warp the beast's core nature to something more pliable.

Six is new to humanity, reason, even thinking, having been a random combat encounter up until a few hours before the Tournament began. She picks up on things disturbingly fast, though, assisted by an advanced integration implant and her Area Boss talent.
At the same time, her origin as a basic combat mob limits her awareness of the world. The only way she knows how to learn something is to slam into it repeatedly, which she's done to half the zones in hazily-remembered testing cycles.

Her personality and personhood are still evolving, but the violence, playfulness, and boss mob arrogance seem unlikely to ever wash out.

Even once she learns that, though, she would hate sitting back and commanding a mon when she could run in and use it like a weapon. She would probably do well with an honege, a shuckle soccer ball/improvised projectile, or anything else durable enough to get kicked around and masochistic enough to like that kind of treatment.

Riku doesn't care much about catching other Pokémon. Seiya is the only partner he needs, at least in that sense. (The other builds are valued and trusted team partners, a Pokémon partner is something else). Riku can be aloof or brooding at times, but he loves Seiya like the most enthusiastic pet owner. He spoils Seiya with treats and trains with him side by side. It helps that Riolu is a Fighting type, and Lucario is Fighting/Steel, so they both have plenty in common already.

Sumio might not be too bad in terms of a potential long-term friend. He's the last person to pressure someone to open up, which is probably good for guarded types who need to move at their own pace. For Kosshi specifically, Sumio's background (for which I'm still ironing out all the details), has some similarities to hers. Though I could see it being the case that neither of them opens up about those things without plot forcing their hand.

Sumio will tailor his approach to suit the mission, so it's not like he'll be blasting the enemy with tsunamis every time. Setting up the perfect conditions for a clean assassination doesn't require a lot of physical work on his part, so he wouldn't complain. If things did go tits up, he also has great defense and stealth options to protect the team and retreat to form a new plan. Sumio really just wants to expand and refine his water style techniques. Anything that can help him do that would make for an enjoyable lesson. He should definitely be trying to round out his style more with things like taijutsu, but that doesn't sound very fun or exciting to him.

He'd also like to learn more soft skills like leadership, subterfuge, team-based tactics, etc. His style isn't driven only by laziness; a lot of the motivation for his approach is keeping the enemy incapable of harming his allies. Supplementary skills that help him keep others safe would seem invaluable.

I think this build might be better than the 5 elemental character I tried earlier. It feels more functional and focused.

I wanted him to go for Seven Heavenly Breaths or Body Revival Technique, but I figured it was better to leave those as skills this guy might one day aspire to, rather than having them off the starting line.

What do you guys think? Better, worse, stupid? I don't know Naruto fluff all that well, so the village might be wrong, but I *think* it fits. Probably.

Harry wouldn't usually like to think about others in combat. They lead to more variables that he can't fully account for, and would likely cause him to split his focus to keeping them safe or at the very least not a hindrance. However, they can prove to be a useful tool with favorable match ups. Tinkaton matches his combat style nicely with good defensive typing, and Moldbreaker being able to ignore some abilities that might be trickier for Harry to work around is a simple direct option to pressure the opponent while he analyzes other counters. It's also mostly because they too have a big hammer. Sometimes the best deterrent is to carry a big stick.

More than one is most likely a no, as finding more partners with high enough compatibility to train with will take away his own training time for personal skills and power systems, but if he had something like an EXP share that could easily change as he'd gladly put it on himself so that his growth rate is given to his team and offsets the prior issues mentioned earlier. It's unlikely that there's enough Pokemon who are able to keep up with Harry's development, but if they do exist, then there would be a team without comparison amongst the entirety of the continent. Minus our existing team of players, of course, though he isn't planning to rely on them as much.

Knowing that Six starts with Adaptation is significant as it means he has to go for the kill immediately. Their unknown trait of String Body is much less concerning as Harry already has an answer to their unending survivability: The Executioner Sword. It's become the option to deal with most tricky opponents, and because she wasn't a replacement but rather an integration, it's far more likely that her boss arena past will count for a Death Sentencing even in testing. In a straight fight he'll have superior stats to fight her and land his killshot with the Executioner sword.

Eugene's abilities are a difficult matchup for Harry. Those with Domain type powers means that inevitably he's going to get into a Domain Clash, and Construction with Curse Manipulation are nasty surprises. While Death Surgeon is an Innate, the only effective move against an active Room is to expand his own Domain to nullify it. From there it'll be easy enough to deliver a verdict with Eugene's mad scientist background, most likely even being able to get a Death Penalty with Confiscation depending on how heinous his experiments have been. It would be an even easier time if Harry knew simple domain, but unless he witnesses a New Shadow Style user or gets one of the school's users to touch his grimoire, he'll just have to make do with what he has, but I don't think even Domain Amplification will help against Room's durability ignoring. At this stage in time, Harry does not have a good chance to take down Eugene, as an anti-domain technique is required to not get caught in his Room outside of his Domain, and its doubtful that Eugene would get close enough to get hit by the Executioner Blade.
