The most satisfying games are the ones where you have like 10 seconds left on the clock to checkmate him after successfully promoting your pawn, and he is desperately dancing around the board trying to time you out just before you get him

I was used to 2 min straight on PlayOK. now I have this 2+1 on Chess.com. I had to adjust to this, so I could efficiently flag my opponents in this website. it is working

Reviewed a game I won earlier and realised I missed a chance to deliver checkmate with an en passant capture. I saw the move, but I thought it was just a check, not mate, so I promoted a pawn to a queen instead for an easy win. Would've been my first ever en passant checkmate too...

When the king hides on g8, he has only one defender left which is the pawn on g7. If we take that with the bishop there will be enough space to coordinate queen and rook for the mate avoiding the >>97636846 f sniper .

Not him but how do I care about studying? Seems to me every minute spent study would be better spent playing.
>you'll get better
Considering there is no end to the pursuit of getting better, that is a death march.

Not as much as playing.

You can just play the game, you will just improve very slowly if at all.
If you don't enjoy learning new tactical patterns, opening ideas, or understanding endgames then no one can make you.
>Considering there is no end to the pursuit of getting better, that is a death march.
So what? I think chess is interesting and cool.
You could say the same about someone who practices guitar, they will never be the best, but they can make more sounds and play more music if they improve, and maybe they just like to play music?
