How did Genesys fare at your locals? Did you build a deck specifically for it, or just took an old one to participate in it? What are your thoughts on the format?
>TCaC
Take a shitty TCG exclusive/first archetype, and give it support on par with Mitsurugi's.

I haven't played in like 10 years, I wanted to get back into it with some Shaddolls I heard they got new cards in the Terminal World 3 set (back in november 2025). But since that's OCG only, I'm wondering when the TCG will see those cards?
>>
>>97629020
>So I need to cut a single card from this what should it be?
I want to say either 1 copy of Aleister or 1 copy of Crowley, with a stronger bias towards cutting the latter imo. Crowley's a good card, but you effectively have 6 copies of him in the deck if you count Lacrima of Light and Genni's ability to dupe Lacrima's effect (without needing to match the activation requirement, of course).
>>
>>
>>97629638
Typically you need to wait about 6 months to a year to get OCG imports, unless they're promos (in which case you need to wait for them to get printed in random sets). If you work off of that, probably somewhere in the ballpark of April to June.

Alright then. Not sure if anyone would join, but i was thinking about setting up a little group in this one discord clone called "element", that way we could organize some matches every time someone feels like testing out a new deck or just dueling.
>that spoiler has me really interested
The deck is nothing special really, literally just (almost) standard ryzeal and magnet warrior ratios, and the rest handtraps. I'm not running duoterion in mine because that means giving up on either impermanence or ghost belle + nibiru. And the point of this deck is using ice ryzeal as a starter that doesn't mind getting negated.
>>
>>
>>97631067
>Spoiler
Never heard of element but technically there is a /ygo/ disc*rd that was used for organizing remote duels but it hasn't been active in a while because most people go to locals now and it was more of a thing over covid era.
I've been tempted to breathe some life into it by hosting tournaments with prizing. Likely TCGplayer, or similar like cardmarket, credit codes. People didn't really want to do physical prizing because no shit it needs personal info and that's fair and I should have guessed as much. Also the cost of shipping is it's own hassle.

Anon, that's only the prismatic secret rare.
Every Overframe comes in three rarities. Ultra, Prismatic Secret (what you linked), and a serialized Grandmaster Rare of which only 100 exist and have stamped number on them.
There's also an Ultra and Secret version of each card with regular art.
Grandmaster Rares are currently selling for $5k+ each, some into the five figures, and only a couple have been posted online so far.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/287169498078
Here's a listing for an alleged Kuriboh for $12k.

Limit Over Collection: Heroes that just released over in Japan.
It's a special set on their end so import times and nature can vary.
The first confirmed TCG framebreaks will be in Rarity Collection 5 and seem to lean towards existing cards, as Rarity Collection prefers reprints and that's only 2 months off compared to the 6 month standard.
>>

Is there a site to find spicy stupid shit combos? I love the building aspect of yugioh but most replays I see is them winning via handtraps/sacky floodgate card rather than an actual cool interaction or engine bridging.
>>
>>
>>97634789
MBT's duel-taining and Farfa's Table 500 series are what you're looking for. Stupid and impractical youtube-combos but are entertaining. I'm pretty sure both series are on ice right now but both have a huge backlog for you to watch. However they're often done in a vacuum and don't reflect actual games.
>most replays I see is them winning via handtraps/floodgates
These sound more like practical gameplay than showing off combos or at least attempts at combos and showing off how a deck's combo preforms in a real setting rather than a sterile one. Often to show weaknesses or chokepoints.
>>
>>
>>
>>97635156
That's the best I can give you for variety. I'm sure there's some literal whos that one-trick specific archetypes/decks and post combos but good luck finding them.
The biggest problem is sorting the wheat from the chaff. It's hard to get past shit like "[several fire emojis] EPIC FIRST TURN 100% CONSISTENT NEW META BEATING COMBO!!!!!!! [several more emojis]" being the title and an AI slop thumbnail with barely any form of identification to find something even relatively palatable.

Heavy thing on top of them in a decently humid enviroment. They'll flatten out and if sleeved they should keep their shape. I recommend doing a bunch at once, split them up into some piles like using an existing deck to make 4 legs for your heavy item on top.

TQ: I haven’t ever gotten to play Genesys at my locals due to insufficient interest. I built Odion/Apophis specifically for Genesys. It’s a shame, because I really like the idea of the format. I don’t understand why Konami let it die so quickly. No updates in a while, no master duel Genesys mode either. I get that at the end of the day it’s Meta II and not some true Wild West format, but I like it for the same reason I like Speed Duel and Time Wizard formats: I get to use cards that I otherwise wouldn’t use.
>>
>>97638319
>No updates in a while
https://yugiohblog.konami.com/2025/genesys/what-to-expect-in-the-decem ber-points-update/
>The next update after this one will happen around the release of Burst Protocol. There are no official large-scale Genesys events between now and then, so the primary purpose of that update will be to add points to cards releasing in Burst Protocol and adjust other costs based on the addition of BPRO.
We also got a roadmap for the format, which includes their general plan for moving out of what they're calling "early access" for the format and transitioning into normal events
>https://yugiohblog.konami.com/2026/genesys/genesys-road-map-whats-com ing-next/
>https://ygoprodeck.com/tournament/genesys-proto-ycs-richmond-4225
>https://ygoprodeck.com/tournament/genesys-proto-ycs-dortmund-4226
These are the results of those events.
Based on all of this, they're probably processing the data right now and will probably release an update somewhere between the 14th and 17th of this month, based on their track record.
>https://yugiohblog.konami.com/2026/genesys/burst-protocol-pre-release -points/
Also, here's a BPRO prerelease list that they posted on their blog as well.
Like, they evidently still give a shit. They're just not being as vocal about it as they were in the first few months.
>>
>>97638399
Also fwfw; Both of the Proto-YCS events managed to pull ~200 players each, which is only 1/10 of the total participation of the main events (2.2k at Richmond and 2.6k at Dortmund), but that's not really bad in my opinion when you're talking about a side event for something that (prior to those proto-events) was invitational-only.

>>
>>97640083
I can't really see that being the case in most circumstances. I'm sure they would if they build like shit and opt to not play anything alongside them such as branded or dragon link stuff. Tidying and the numerous monster based interactions they have should easily get around just about every selective protection and you should have enough big assholes in the ED to deal with them.
Or you have someone like >>97639823 piloting the deck who doesn't know fuck all about the game and just wants to LARP in their waifu fantasy and isn't good. (TBF, this is many dragon maid players)

Also why banish only 3 with prosp? I get they already have tidy and change but you still always dig 6.

Gonna do a read here. Both the Dragonmaid and Ancient gear player are ITT from these replays and the DM player is a giga-noob. Why else would >>97640215 mention pendulums and there's a pend replay. (FYI you're a massive baby if you're whining about deskbots of all thing lmao)
If I called my shot correctly here's some advice for the two of you.
DM player.Hit up literally any guide on youtube to learn how to play your deck even a bit. Get over your gay baby holdup about the game and learn to branch out with what you play and learn the larger game. Your lack of enjoyment is not coming from your deck choice, it's coming from your choice of being willingly stupid. Branded is the easiest inclusion to your deck and it's a basically an autopilot engine you can add to dragonmaid for your level of understanding. I'm gonna take a guess you "don't want to play the icky link monsters EW" because new thing le bad. Get over yourself and improve your deck.
AG player.I'm sure you've already told the above to Gibbs/DM player but they're being intentionally dense. There's no "trick" you can do to make them act not dense. You have to be practical and level-headed about things. They want/need the training wheels to stay on a bit longer before they are ready to move on. BUT you should eventually push them to fly on their own. The easiest thing to do is to swap decks while you've done at least some studying so that way it shows the potential the deck has and to show that it's their lack of effort to learn the deck/game that's an issue.
Thanks for coming to my couple's counseling if I assume correctly.
Or I just suck cocks if I'm off here.
>>
>>
>>
>>97640799
I don't exactly think there's an ancient gearfag here so I can maybe give you that, but it is pretty evident one dragonmaidfag is responsible for several of these posts.
The replays show both hands which implies the replay was most likely created in a duel room, meaning the dragonmaid player knows who they are playing against to some capacity. It also has the name Gibbs appear in both.
But the thing is that the view is flipped and Gibbs is on the other side in the 2nd. I don't remember if you can flip the view but assuming you can't then it means someone else took the video of this replay. This is schizo tier speculation though and why I think I can give you that.
Aside from all that. I don't think it's projection to say the dragonmaidplayer needs to get better at the game. We have videos of them jobbing and I think the critique is justified.

Pro tip: AVOID ULTRAPRO ANYTHING except their clear standard sleeves as disposable penny sleeves for trades and their poly deckboxes for super cheap deck storage.
>binder
Anything with a zipper and I recommend 3x3 pocket pages but there's smaller 2x2 ones if you need them for a smaller bag. Almost all binders are made for standard size cards and they'll hold YGO which are JP/small size. They will float a bit but you kind of have to come to terms with that if you want to use a quality binder. So long as you put your binder upright in your bag and the pockets are sideload style they'll stay put for the most part.
I'll shill gamegenic's binders but I think any brand is good.
Spend ~$30
>card sleeves
MAKE SURE THEY'RE MARKED JAPANESE/SMALL SIZE.
Dragonshield has been the go to for a long time but they've had quality issues over the last few years. I still think they're pretty good but maybe I'm just getting lucky. I recommend the matte-dual ones. They should be 60ct is a check.
Double sleeving is entirely optional and is done with a clear sleeve inner or outer.
Many people also like Katana brandand I can say they're good but can be harder to find in stores.
Buy 2 colors, sleeve the MD and ED seperate colors for easy seperation post game. I'd recommend you pick a generic color like black or grey for ED so you can use the rest elsewhere as you'll only need a quarter of them for one deck.
Spend ~$10x2
>deck box
If you want something good then get ultimate guard flip n tray 100+. I've had one for years and beat it to shit but it's held up great and it's very forgiving. The dice tray holds about 2 full sets of dice max but you only need 2d6 at min. I personally carry 1 full set, an extra d6 to get to 2d6, and a few small coins as counters or in case it comes up.
Gamegenic makes a similar model in the Watchtower but I don't care for their removable flaps. They are slightly cheaper though.
Spend $20‐30
cont.

>>
>>97641538
>mat
Rubber back mats are super standard and are the tried and true option. Cloth mats (no rubber on the back) are nice but aren't anything crazy special.
Get a playmat tube. Monster playmat tubes are the cheap option and work perfectly fine.
You can find a design that suits you online. The chinkshit sellers aren't actually that bad if you see one. The print quality is maybe a little subpar but I've never minded it.
You can also do a custom one but expect to pay more.
Spend ~$25 for an art one.
~$15 if you just want function and get a solid color one.
>extras
If you're not confident with your mental math or being able to do it quickly then a super simple calculator doesn't hurt. I recommend it because there's going to come a day where you want it and your phone battery is low/dead. Spend $5
Pen and paper is nice for tracking LP in case a similar situation to the above happens.
Tissues/napkins. You'll be glad to have some.
If you have an OTS store, download yugioh Neuron from an appstore and make an account so you have a Konami ID and can access it if needed. Go to Data at the bottom for the account login/signup.
>>97641580
Their quality is lower than I would like for many products and while the cost is lower Im fine with spending a few dollars more for something better. I don't dislike every one of their products and I think they're good if you need cheap things like I said with the cheap deckboxes and penny sleeves. Their biggest sin is them plastering their shitty logo all over their products.
Their gloss eclipse sleeves are ok but they seem to get gummy faster than other branks for whatever reason. They're fine otherwise but still, why would I get them over others?
Though I will go to bat for their One Touch magnet clasp display slabs. Those are cool but aren't needed at all.
I see UP as a kind of Store Brand TM option to actual products. No shade to people that use them, I just recommend the real version.
>>
>>
>>97641580
Their quality went to shit after COYID, i still have a couple deck boxes (the cheapo $2 ones) from them that i bought in 2009 or so, and they're still in fantastic shape despite being nearly a decade old. I always buy the same one every time (clear/translucent), so you can actually tell the newer ones are a lot more flimsy.
Another thing anon didn't mention, is that you should also avoid KONMAI products, more specifically their sleeves, deck boxes, binders and dice. Their mats are hit and miss, generally the ones you win in previews and YCS' are of high quality, but i've heard horror stories about the $20 ones you can acquire in any TCG store. The masquerena one i bought in 2019 or so is still in great shape however.

Vault x binders definitely, more so if you plan to use it as a coomlection (ie full of cute girls) or trade binder, as you don't want the cards in it to get damaged. You should use sleeves anyway, the "penny" ones >>97641538 says should be fine.
Basically.
>sleeves
Dragon shield (dual) matte, with dragon shield outer sleeves if you want your deck to be safe from the elements. Ultimate guard katana is also high quality, but they're more than twice as expensive as dragon shield.
>mat
Official KONMAI ones, but not the $20 ones they sell in any store, feel free to splurge a bit on any of the JP exclusive ones, like pic related if you want to play mind games on your opponent (the tits will distract him). Failing that you can just get any custom one from a trusted seller.
>deck box
Ultimate guard flip 'n' tray, there really is no other choice. Holds a double sleeved 60 card deck, and both your 15 card extra and side deck, with enough space for at least 5 more cards ie tokens. It also has a tray for your dice.
>mat holder/tube
Ultimate guard matpod for sure, you can beat a man to death with those.
>dice
Honestly i've never really cared about this, i grabbed a bunch of metal ones more than a decade ago for $10 and it's what i've been using ever since then. I've been wanting to buy a red BLS one, but i've heard they actually fucking shatter if you drop them too much.
>miscellaneous
Pen and paper because keeping track of LP with a calculator is actually illegal in tournaments. You also have to keep track of counters (like apollousa's) with coins or dice, but if you use dice you have to use individual ones for each counter ie 3 counters 3 dice on top of the card.
That's all i think.

https://www.gamegenic.com/product/zip-up-album-18-pocket/?attribute_pa _color=blue
Other anon's vault x look fine too. NGL they're all about the same so long as it meets features like having a zipper, a number of slots per page to meet your needs, fabric covers with stitched edges, and side load pockets.
>using it
If it's a collection binder use the extra sleeves from the box of sleeves you used for your ED as you should have a lot left over. I like using good sleeves on cards I like.
If it's a trade binder use penny sleeves. Google "ultrapro penny sleeves", can't miss them when you see the plastic bag they come in. They do the job but they're literally dime-a-dozen, so you don't feel bad losing them in trades. They're standard size but nobody gives a damn because they do the job. Ironically the gold standard.
>what do you do with cards
>do you store them all in binders
Anything I like personally goes in a personal collection binder, and anything of value or trade bait (like staples, even if cheap) goes to a trade binder. If you're a newfag, generally speaking Super rare and lower aren't work shit, Ultra rares are sometimes worth money, and all high is almost always worth something. Sometimes if an archetype is in high demand I will put it's lower value stuff in the trade binder next to it's value cards so it can maybe sweeten the deal as a "free include". It's bulk I'm stuck with otherwise.
I don't put everything in binders. Bulk goes in bulk boxes which you can usually buy from your LGS for pretty cheap as they buy them in bulk and will likely give you a better rate than even amazon. IE my locals ask for $5 for the exact same thing amazon has for >$20 https://a.co/d/0gVqAZQ0
Just ask for shoebox size bulkboxes and they will know what you mean.
I will penny sleeve some foils I put away in bulkboxes but anything non-foil I just throw in the box without a sleeve.

Finally, another oldfag who also knows about the old poly deck boxes UP used to sell. God I miss them and people who say they aren't tougher are full of shit.
For those unaware.
Pic is me pushing a new one (bottom) together with and old one (top) so they have the same stress. You can see how much flex the new has over the old's firmness.
I even kind of like the texture they had.
Not to say the new ones are bad, they work just fine. But it's just a drop in quality.
>>
>>97641269
>This is schizo tier speculation though
It is considering that I don't play Duel and that complaint was my first post since January. I play in paper mostly, I do play different decks, I simply don't enjoy the game anymore unless I play Maids because other play pattern feel almost obnoxious to me nowadays.
>>
>>97642300

>deck box
Do not fall for the flip&tray/watchtower meme unless you're playing Endymion or some shit, the boxes are massive and waste backpack space for dice/counters you either don't need or can already carry in a regular 100+ box like picrel.
>>97642799
Top is what Konami boxes look like actually, their sleeves and binders are absolute dogshit quality but I was pleasantly surprised by the sturdiness of one gold pride box I bought. Unfortunately being too small to carry a double-sleeved deck makes it unusable for me so I can't comment on longevity.

Someone who is less experience at the game than others but isn't incompetent like some of the boobs that pick other waifu decks. I do not picture them directly complaining about the meta, and instead bragging whenever they can squeak out wins against meta decks.

After playing Master Duel for a bit I want to finally buy a paper deck. I'm a lazy brainlet though, so I want to buy three structure decks and smash them together for a semi-playable pile. Should I go with Beware of Traptrix or THE CHRONICLES DECK: Spirit Charmers? Yes, I want to buy into one of these two simply for the waifus.

Well the optimal deck you can build with 3x the charmer deck is by removing all the charmers and instead building a horus deck because the charmer cards are kinda ass. But horus is pretty good.
Triple traptrix decks builds traptrix. It's a hard go-first deck since it's trap based but is decently strong if you're skilled at winning coinflips.
I think this is all you want to know.
If you really want to buy a deck you've made in MD and you're just too lazy and/or stupid to figure out TCGplayer I don't mind making up a list for you to just copy/paste into mass cart entry on the site to auto add everything and you just click buy.
Your call there.

What are some other waifu-heavy decks? Maids is the only one that comes to my mind.

Go nuts buddy.

Don't get me wrong here but if you're just thinking with your penis then I think you should visit pixiv/gelbooru before you visit TCGplayer or this list.
Not joking it might be the more optimal way to search for an archetype that suit you if your method of picking decks is solely with your dick.
>Scroll through yugioh + female tag on pixiv/gelbooru sorted by date
>Hm this character appeals to me
>Click and see name in tags
>Look it up yourself or make but a short list and ask here for which matches your playstyle

Would that give me single cards only? I see decks with female character cards but they are often the only waifu cards in a deck while Traptrix, Maids and Charmers make up the bulk of their decks.

That's why I said you look it up after. Take the character name and jam it into google, then look for it's yugipedia page. Most of the time you won't even have to do that as the character name includes the archetype. IE Traptrix rafflesia is of course a part of the traptrix archetype. Then you can look up the entire archetype.
And then there's the latter option which is to just get a bunch of names, posted here, and then we help you sort you out.
>But they're the only one in the archetype
So? If you like just one then just enjoy the one.
I'm only going to spoonfeed you so much here. Even if I listed off a bunch of archetypes, it would still require you to put in some effort to look into them.

New player here, thinking of going to some locals irl. Been trying for days stuff on MDPro3 and I finally found a deck that I like and tried to perfect it (and not too much expensive irl), is it a good deck for first local ? Thinking of buying it with singles
I really enjoy the flexibility of invoke + blue eyes and being able to print out negates, and the combos are fun and can easily branch, I really enjoy learning new combos and practice them. Any suggestion / recommandations ? Thanks frens
