>What is /awg/?
A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames.
The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games.
This thread isn't tied to a game, a publisher, or a genre, let's just talk about fun wargames. Any scale, any company, any miniatures.
>Examples of games that qualify.
A Song of Ice and Fire, Argatoria, Batman Miniature Game, Carnevale, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings,
Deadzone, Dragon Rampant, Dropfleet and Dropzone Commander, Freebooter's Fate, Frostgrave, Gaslands, HeroClix,
Kings of War, Maelstrom's Edge, Malifaux, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Masters of the Universe: Battleground, Moonstone,
Oathmark, OnePageRules, Open Combat, RelicBlade, Rumbleslam, SAGA, StarCraft, Stargrave, Sludge, Urban War, Void,
Warcaster, Warmachine, Xenos Rampant, Xenotactics...
...and anything else that doesn't necessarily have a dedicated thread.
>Examples of companies providing rules and/or miniatures for alternative wargames.
Archon Studio, Atomic Mass Games, Black Site Studios, CMON, Goblin King Games, Lucid Eye, Mantic,
North Star Military Figures, OnePageRules, Osprey, Para Bellum, Seb Games, Spellcrow, TTCombat,
Victrix, Wargames Atlantic, Warlord Games...
...and many other publishers.

This game looks amazing. Can't wait to pirate a copy on release. I like the No Mans Sky base building aspect

No. They still sell physical stuff, and even most of the MMF releases get added to their store about a month later.
If this is about the Frontier thing, that's them releasing three legacy armies that were always a limited release from Privateer.
>>
>>97645101
but is it any idication of future support or is it just for legacy's sake? i recall cryxiss being moderately unpopular when they dropped and completely missed out on infernal/grymkin even existing and if the files/printed minis would be better way of even getting small-scale game going at the club over importing at current prices from their shop

Have y'all heard of CARNIVORE? It's this upcoming wargame about dinosaurs. I'm sure there's at least one person here that would enjoy it

I'm looking for a squad based sci-fi game and everything is either too light and random or too crunchy. I've given Stargrave and Space Weirdos a go and they both just way too swingy. There just seems to be this vast gulf between rules lite stuff like Space Weirdos and then really crunchy games like Infinity with very little inbetween.

Are people still into Turnip28?
I noticed that there are semi-regular turnip28 events in my area and I am hyped to kitbash some models together. Will also try to sculpt some stuff with greenstuff for this.

Brotha dozens of companies make the exact same shit for cheaper. You can buy generic greenstuff on Amazon this very moment

>Other companies make it
They merely repackage it, the original manufacturer is stopping production and there is no publicly available formula to replicate it.
There will be alternatives, but it'll take time, won't be the same and will probably be pricier to take advantage of the vacuum.

>vast gulf between rules lite and really crunchy
Take a look at Renegade Scout and This Is Not A Test, they're medium crunch.
Haven't had a chance to try it but Shoot People In Space is suppose to be medium as well.
Osprey's Black Ops with the scifi bits added in might work, its sort of light but there's a decent amount going on with movement and missions it could be where you want.

>fivecore
One of my favourite but its light as fuck.
