Sorry that I got sidetracked last thread, I can address these things now.

I was initially worried that I wrote Momika as a little too nice, but I wanted to show her tactics of getting along with people and possibly getting some use out of them later. Of course, with a nice joke here and there (your file name kek)

With Nana, I was trying to do that “me when I meet someone more autistic than me” reaction that we discussed. Maybe it seemed a little too harsh? But if you think there’s grounds for a rivalry, I think that’d be cool to see eventually.

Personally I’m excited for the dorms to actually be established so that I can write more Nekomaru and Kisui stuff. Hell, I’m also hoping Kisui-anon thought Kisui was well portrayed because I don’t think I got anything about that

Yeah, I figured as much. Me saying that she'd find Nekomaru annoying is because that's how I find she'd be feeling about the "more autistic" thing. Nekomaru's more obvious lack of social grace makes her unconsciously compare her own actions to his and she doesn't like how close it is even after working hard with Momika to work on that. It makes her not like Nekomaru and find him annoying because she's a child.

That's my go of it anyway. The rivalry could remain one sided and eventually fizzle out after some more interactions, or be pushed further depending on how we want to go about it. The eventual learning of Reaver Claw from her summon would still be a cool thing to work towards.

Speaking of elements last thread. Elementfriends, most of us seem to be singular, non-kekkei elements at the moment. Is anyone thinking of eventually branching out to another element, getting a kekkei, or just focusing on their existing one? We might never get to rank up, but figuring out some training directions for the game might be fun.

As a rule, KGKs are inborn so you can't just branch out into them. Closest you get is plucking out some guy's eye and shoving it in your head. Guess you could say their parents had it and the build hadn't awakened it yet or something?

Yeah it'd be kinda rough in that regard which is why it's a maybe over a definite. It helps that IIRC, KKG can be recessive and turn up later so it'd be something I'd want to foreshadow earlier. Technically, all the elemental techniques can be done with enough practice. The bloodline limit ones are just extremely difficult compared to 5 basic natures. It's kage level stuff, but there are precedents.

I believe in Boruto Sasuke figures out how to combine Wind and Water to mimic Ice, but it's not as good as if he could do it naturally.

Technically Hiruzen uses Mud Style without the KKG but that's probably more Kishimoto saying Mud was just Earth that early, in retrospect Hiruzen was THE Element Mixxer so could technically be re-rationalized to do what Sasuke did with Earth and Water.

Fox would end up picking up Lightning and some other {element} techniques if she ends up pulling the stick from her ass. She's unaware of it, but she's almost twice as talented with ninjutsu as she is at gen/taijutsu, so the awkward catch up would be kinda funny.
The only elemental KKGs in reach would be Light, Typhoon, and Vibration though, and honestly none of them are that appealing.

I'm already using Special Skill to enhance Momika's Fire style as if it had Wind boosting it, so I'm not that interested in another element. The only investments I can really see are dipping into Yin alignment to boost her existing Jutsu, and buying more element techniques.

With Nana, I'm planning on having her push off from dual sword user into a merchant summoner hybrid class type fighter, using money and gold for attacks and to amp her summons by overpaying them. I don't know if using money based jutsu would require a custom EKG or if I'll just flavor it with what I have now, but Nana being completely oblivious to a potential EKG in her blood and only using Earth until now fits her character.

Potentially Yin and Earth for Kosshi, with the former taking priority since it meshes well with her branching into medical ninjutsu and genjutsu. Earth has more to with thematic reasons since, while there are some elemental justu that could be nice, those arr basically last on he checklist with a decent amount of her advancement slated to double down in stuff like gentle fist and her bloodlines.

Kosshi doesn't own much in general and isn't inclined to move much into a temporary space, especially one she'd rather not be in. If Kurayami being a sentient part ooze amalgamation has given het a non-standard chakra network, the possibly avoidance depending on how Kosshi would interpret that. Aside from that, I think could pretty quickly reach an understanding based on their mutual distrust, and maybe even more easily work out something like friendship because of it.

I'm sure we'll be understanding of it, it's not gonna ruin anyone's character or anything. It's just cleaner narratively when someone starts with the KGKs and grabs trainings later rather than the reverse. Plus there's only so many in character excuses for why someone gets one late, so the more people that invest in KGKs early the more the people who do get them late will feel natural.

Not really. I initially considered getting wood, but the scale in which I wanted it was so limited that slapping it on the tool seemed enough. Unless story goes a weird way, I likely won't be getting more elements. If the story warrants it, then I guess Steel is possible, or maybe Magma. Other kekkei don't seem like a natural development path either, the ones that wouldn't feel like too much of a stretch, can be more naturally substituted with just techniques, like Autonomous Regeneration vs Resilient Regeneration. I could possibly try to make a custom Kekkei Genkai to upgrade the Petrification somehow, but that's also not something that makes the most sense.

Iwao doesn't have much stuff, especially since he doesn't wear clothes. He brought some of his rock collection, a mix of pretty ones, and tasty ones which are basically snacks. He also has some drawing supplies, and bird feeders. Hopefully by the time he graduates, his walls will be covered by drawings of him and his new friends. The default split of the room would be 50/50, but Taiki can likely easily talk Iwao into a much more uneven share if he wanted to, but I don't think like he will. If they have access to a garden, he could even be talked into just sleeping outside pretending to be a rock.

Friendly. Iwao is likely among the last people to make a big deal out of someone's distinct look, so Taiki doesn't have to worry about his roommate calling him a mutant. Taiki's earth jutsu focus means Iwao can learn a lot from him, and maybe share some of his own techniques. I think they'll get along well. Iwao would assume since they got matched together they're supposed to be best friends, and act based off this assumption until proven otherwise, which would have to be very direct, and as such he's very abusable.

Thanks to the Enclosement Technique and Storage Sealing Scrolls, you'd be wrong. Nana can bring her and Momika's things with them along for the boat ride. Only real problem is figuring out what she would have gathered from her travels with Momika. If I had to guess, a lot of their furniture and various other supplies were stolen straight from any temporary living space they stayed in, so it'd be a lot of stuff you'd find in a feudal era inn. Momika anon is free to rebut me on this though. By the end, it'll likely have more stolen stuff with some actual personal touches like photos and strewn about studying materials.
Nana is fine sharing her portion of the room with Momika, effectively making it a 2:1 ratio if Momika doesn't want to split with Ayane any.

With Momika, it's unchanged. With Ayane, it kind of depends on how Momika wants to treat the roommate relationship. If Nana's told that Ayane is a rich girl and that they're earning friendship to gain favors, then she'd be awkward around Ayane as she tries to figure out how to make the other girl into a "friend" like that. Probably try to give Ayane the little carved wooden doe. It would be funny that Ayane's straightforward friendly style would make Nana think that it's actually Ayane trying to get Nana to like her for the same reason Nana is and she'd become needlessly guarded and clammed up for a while.
Nana isn't made of stone, though. If Ayane kept up her attempts at being friendly, Nana would unintentionally start to feel safer with her. I don't know if Momika would like it or not, but Nana would start to actually like being around Ayane even without the pretext of trying to get favors from her.

I was thinking of going for Lightning Nature + Vibration KG for Hibiki in the future - his clan should have a KG and that one works best with their Sound jutsu. He doesn't have one right now which is partially the reason he was exiled, but he might unlock it later on if that's a thing.

I'd probably prefer if he went for Medical Ninjutsu, Summoning, or something from one of the teachers instead (Cursed Arts from Dogen, better Genjutsu from Fox, etc) since that feels better narratively than 'You unlocked a power you had the entire time!'

Hibiki's half of the room has an assortment of books that he can no longer read but keeps for sentimental reasons, potted plants and seeds, and various feeds for the animals he makes friends with. He also has a small record player and is eager to collect new music, since that's an easy form of entertainment for him. All of his things are ordered neatly on shelves, with his space being tidy and easy to navigate. He sleeps on a large western style bed, which everyone wonders how he fit through the door.

Koda will kind of have free reign over stuff like wallspace, since Hibiki can't read scrolls or posters. But I expect Hibiki probably has more clothes than him and will use a lot of the closet.

I'll elaborate more once I start on the dorm meeting between the two, but Hibiki will be very cordial. He's never shared living space with someone before and is excited, viewing it like getting a sibling. Overly friendly, kind, and way too clingy for the first few days. Hibiki has nightmares very frequently, and a TON of birds and animals will start visiting in the morning for food, which may cause some friction.

I think it would be fine either way, but I suggest going with the one you find more satisfying narratively.

Dogen lives in a Not!Evil Dark Wizard basement a little away from the village, where he keeps his strange occult implements, his library and some spirits bound into objects from his Cursed Spirit Manipulation. There's also a laboratory there. It's absolutely riddled with spiritual symbols and sigils, wards and other items of power.

The rule is stay away, there's a scroll at the door to call him if necessary and may be some strange Spirited Away style little guys patrolling the place or answering the door. His skillset allows him to get extremely weird with that.

Dogen would actually be the first to tell the students to not get into Curse Arts because of the dangers involved. But it'd actually be pretty nice seeing a development of Hibiki convincing Dogen that he's ready to learn it.
