Thats great to hear and that seems to be the general consensus. Personally I know dick-all about minis or painting them, but I am looking forward to the gameplay itself. I’ll be doing a lot of lurking here since l imagine I’ll die a shitload when I’m first starting out.
Also, while I won’t be getting it for years, how much does GC add to the game? Significant improvement, bloat, or something in-between?
>>
>>
>>97998972
GC improves on the base game a lot.
There's fighting arts or Secret Fighting Arts you'll never see because of the way randomness fucks you.
GCE's solution is to move away from those random things (you can only have 1 of each vs 3 in base game) in favor of things you can control with the philosophies.
>>
>The Inverted Mountain expansion combines the Frog Dog, Oblivion Mosquito, Pariah, Black Knight, Red Witches, Nightmare Ram, and Gryphon expansions into one campaign!
Jesus christ that’s a $1000 campaign what the fuck is Poots smoking

Oh shit, oh fuck! Finally, after all these years, my favorite monster expansion has arrived.
Holy FUCK those seams are going to need a blistering amount of sanding and refitting or I'm going to have to use heaps of greenstuff to get it all in line. In all seriousness; Poots, I love you, but why is every big figure like this? Ass to dry-fit because it falls apart unglued, and glued together it has serious alignment issues because multiple things had to be glued simultaneously. It's a bigger nightmare than actually fighting these things in a showdown, to be honest.
>>
File: gap god.jpg (1.2 MB)
>>98005503
And that was the flattering angle. This things got the G A P going on with it. Thankfully I don't plastic cement it right off the rip, I have learned over the years to do a super glue dry fit and then smash it apart to try and minimize misalignment and parts shifting during assembly. The assemble order on this one isn't difficult mind you, no guessing how anything lies; it just refused to be put together without committing to bonding the whole thing at once.
>>
File: gap knight.jpg (717.0 KB)
Anyone else hate dealing with this every big model release? I still haven't finished putting my black knight together because of the highly involved sanding process to fix the female border seam so that it actually mates up with the male half.
>>
Fuck yea, threads back. We just had another game last night. We had some down time after the nemesis rush so we fought one more lvl 2 lion (we didn't have cat eye till now. Blue charm cant save us forever), and fought a lvl2 phoenix (tried to get some hollow wing bones for the arrows, ended up with an hours ring as well).
How are your societies going, anons?

I don't skim lore, but I flipped through the book and it looks like a juicy expansion. Node 4 Screaming God, replacement Climax fight for Queen. I have a campaign that's long in the tooth that I could slot these monsters into without a single headache. Who wants to fight Gold Smoke Knight anyways?
>>
>>98005747
Im sad still that some if them were so egregious that I just didnt have the will to be perfect with it.
>>97998939
>>97998959
We play in person, handing out player responsibilities (ones the banker, one keeps track of resources, one does monster AI, ect). Doing it all solo would seem pretty fucking exhausting on the physical copy. TTS would be an exception with how much of its automated.
>>
>>
File: hescream.jpg (101.8 KB)
>>98007686
>I just didnt have the will to be perfect with it.
I mean, ultimately that's what happens. I do enough work to get this thing onto the table, but if I wanted to paint it I have to either hastily patch it up or dedicate an awful lot of time to correcting just the fitting, and then doing seam sculpting on top of that. It's sad that it's been like this for *checks watch* since I've had my 1.5 all in bundle arrive from fulfillment, but still wish it wasn't so. I know that many of these molds were made ages ago now, so they're using very outdated techniques, but I notice some of the other lines like the 4 pack white boxes in hard plastic are all banger legos that don't need a ton of work to fit together. Ah well, such is Death.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm so happy to finally have my screaming god. I love this design to pieces. I looked at the master model wistfully for a long time now.

I love KDM's aesthetics.
And I love the worldbuilding even when it is a reference to lots of different things like Berserk's plain of faces from the Eclipse being an obvious one.
So how is the quality of the official resin castings from KDM?
Or is it better that I look to recasters instead?
Or even 3D prints?

Hello all, Scananon here.
I’m still waiting for this release. As soon as I receive it I’ll start scanning, it’s my priority for this.
>>
>>98016315
The products are great, except for some notable situations with monsters having gaps. And the online build guide is somtimes unhelpful or flat out wrong. But you won't find the style and quality easily. As for recaster: fucking post links if you find them. I have all the game content for nukelope but not the fucking nukelope itself.
>>
>>
File: pics-from-gencon-v0-3al62k1484gb1.jpg (204.4 KB)
>>98019158
Damn, I have most of the extra content except the hard to get monsters like slender, man hunter, ect. Im kind of regretting not getting the ivory dragon on BF. The model looks so fucking good
>>
>>98019158
Lol, those dates...
When do we think screaming god will up for general order, and for how much? I'm eyeing some of these 200 dollar ones on ebay, but only if the actual expansion ends up around 175 - I haven't even finished fully engaging with lion god (because he's a dick waffler) before getting the next one, still have yet to fight a level 3 D:
>>
>>98019158
Thanks, I think I dropped like $1.6k on the KS for everything new that was game stuff (nothing without rules). It's been so long I can't even remember what all it was. To me it turned into the occasional "shipping charge successful, your next item is on the way" emails.
>>
>>
>>
>>98019254
I'm missing the tree (never going to buy that piece of shit), lion god which would be neat but silver city doesn't need him anymore, and sun stalker which would also be cool but meh
I also don't buy the vignettes
I got Satan and everything on the KS mostly because I figured everything would balloon in price which has been correct so far, have no clue where I'll put it though it's going to be so fucking obnoxiously huge
>>
>>98021498
Goddamn, and people are selling it for 150-200 on ebay. Welp, their loss. I just hope that it's not as much of a power creep over the original wave 2 as king apparently is, I don't actually have GCE, just the OG 12 minus lonely tree and black knight, which I similarly have yet to try.
>>
>>
>>98022147
I mean, it's 2 giant size 3s, and a vignette, and a campaign extender, and a finale boss. Sunstalker is 135 for a similar amount of content, smaller and less detailed miniatures, and (likely) less complex gameplay on the showdown side.
>>
>printed and painted up all the terrain tiles
>spent time painting and making acanthus, ect
>nothing but a huge ass ache slwhen used on the table
Heed my warning. Its cool to have but ill only ever use the pillars. I also just made the blood pool from croc part of cross base. Everything else just dosnt work with monsters and players parking on it.
>>
>>98024105
And this is why I permanently glued my board together. We tried playing it with the tiles loose and it was just miserable, we were constantly knocking tiles off and shifting things just by touching them, the gaps were just too large to be a firm press fit.
Once I finally get off my ass and paint it I'll mount the whole board on some sort of backing material and hang it on my game room wall when not in use like a painting. Can't do that if you don't glue it together.
>>
File: gun to head.gif (2.4 MB)

>imagining the cleanup and greenstuffing on this HUGE monster
Very few of these will ever live to see proper painting.
>>
>>98022147
it doesn't seem like much but the rulebook is pretty big for a kd book, 2 big minis and multiple smaller ones (illuminators+SG armour) gear grids for the vignette + the usual cards, not to mention the card terrain tiles and the very large hand painted antelope board
I actually think that last addition pushed the price up but it is pretty cool

hey scananon. i want to start making small resource cards of all resources so when i put it in storage i can grab the corresponding small cards and put them in our map(storage)
do you have those scanned? i was thinking about how i might need to do it myself. also i dont actually have a link. how do you usually share it? i can work with the mario 64 method.

The 10 year old kickstarter that is not a scam has just delivered about 50% of its contend.
sounds like a youtube video
>>
>>
>>
>>98027955
I talk an insane amount of shit to poots but difference being is poots will deliver, he has an amazing track record I wouldn't doubt him for a second
which is pretty crazy considering I won't even dip into other kickstarters if I even get a fishy whiff
also the KS price compared to retail is not to be underestimated, in a lot of KS you're just paying the base price early, with this we've seen items go up by over 200% (and climbing)
the wait is crazy, but I think it's relatively fine considering

File: Build .jpg (3.2 MB)
Anyone working on anything? I am opening survivor spring with getting the million survivors from GCE assembled. Ill probably just be doing a shitty slap chop on all of them before focusing on monsters again.
>>
>>
>>98027921
The trick with that is know where to cut. I've removed too much material and then the overlapping leans in a direction that doesn't help mate the two halves. Of course it's workable, but it's still a load of work, on each joining part. In a large monster model, there's massive joining parts.
>>
>>98031013
>>98027921
One more thing since you like don't have this model, I'll note that you have to hold multiple pieces in place while gluing, or else it won't be able to be assembled at all. The structures are floppy, they lean and slot into each other the same way your closed knuckles do; technically interlocking but zero friction holding them. This alone makes removing material to get one section to line up a pain because you can end up with new misaligned parts by mistake easily. Putting these kits together is a far more delicate operation than meets the eye.

no and it costs over 400 dollar. its a reaction to how popular tts was but autism of poots turned it into a literal vr tabletop experience with all pitfalls and none of the positives.
you cannot copy anything in the game but since its digital you also cannot proxy anything or put stuff on paper.
it has the exact same number of tokens as the base game. thus you run out fast in some cases.
it is bloated software and gets bugs often.
tts has all old style stuff from 2016 in a complete perfect form. it is a very nice way to play if you want to play all the old contend.
>>98031068
idk. with atnas i just started cutting away and made it fit pretty well. with some extra plastic glue i have no seam lines

Well, I suppose with screaming god on the way now from Ebay, I should start preparing a campaign for him. Without spoilers, are there any quarries or nemesis that work particularly well with him or parasite queen? Assume I have all of the first wave of expansions and black knight, and am working off node rules.

amazing. just need to edit them into gear size cards or smaller.
one question. it does not really matter for me but since you scan them multiple cards at a time they are not complete straight. how do print and players use this? do they just accept a bit of crookedness in their cards after print and cutting.
or is there a way to automatically select some cards and have them be straight?

I have decided on White (Giga)Lion, Antelope, Sunstalker, Screaming God, Manhunter, Slenderman, Black Knight, Parasite Queen in People of the Lantern for the campaign. I was planning on going Gorm, because it has the regen suit for a more endgame armor, but I actually think the weapons and armor from gigalion will probably be better, especially with what I know of the showdown being movement oriented

You cant paint KdM like little statues and it'll look great. Just white coat, grey contrast (any brand) and a quich white dry brush it's REALLY EASY
for music I recommend The Vision Bleak, Gary Numan's 3 last albums and Cradle of Filth's 13 Ceasar
>>
>>98042156
That the best reason to paint them. You actually want it to look nice and your not going to get better if your just slap chopping orc #7558. As for music, I like the dark tide OST, some Witcher stuff, dark souls, ect. I like the grim dark stuff.

Indomitables come with new weapons tied to their monster, that wouldn't make a lot of sense with these as they already have weapons. But I wouldn't be surprised to see a 4 figure pack come out in the future with some other stuff mixed in.

Who hard is the armor to make for red witches? Seeing the set, looks like a great evasion+shield tank set where I can switch places with the monster target. Sadly I get these big brain ideas and find out the chance of making the set before LY32 is near impossible. Which is another issue I jave: 99% of the cool shit is locked out for most playthroughs.

i think (and hope) that its not gonna be a dripfeed but an echoes like box.
screaming god became so bloated and out of proportion and then a vignette was added. at that point adding another 4 survivors would just increase the box size to much (also add more time)

A few quick and moderately successful hunts leads us to ly4, including the first screaming Antelope hunt which goes very good due to good old dead monster. Unfortunately, coming back the returning survivors bring plague, and only my strongman survives, as well as the superchild I'd been stacking up back at the settlement. I swear, this event always pops early to punish me for sticking with the starting survivors as the A team. At least no one directly dies keeping the plague around, but I fail to innovate ammonia and there's nothing I can do for them. Time to build the weapon crafter instead I guess, right in time for manhunter next year (who I still need to paint in keeping with my only play the monsters I get paint on rule for this campaign)
>>
Okay fellow solo players, I’m relatively new to the game. I’ve been switching the “monster controller” between survivors each round and gaining insanity if they are targeted by the monster. Apparently, though, there is no insanity bonus via monster targeting in a solo game. Seems a little gay.
Do you guys play without it or with it?
>>
>>98061316
I legitimately feel like removing plague and harvest sometimes with the sheer amount of "lol dead" that happends that can just end campaigns for no reason. I also know the struggle of, somehow, not getting dash for no reason other then luck hates me on innovations.
>>98064161
I feel like the insanity gain is almost mandatory. Croc with no insanity is stupidly dangerous is an example. I see no reason not to use it solo. Its a cooperative game so not like its a mechanic just to fuck over other players.

Today's double feature, the gang takes on manhunter with a couple of injuries because manhunter was a dick and punched my tank for 5 damage to the chest twice because she had 4 survival, but no deaths thankfully. The same tank managed to Neo dodge endless barrage twice in a row, so that was cool. After that, we learned nothing and went to hunt the white lion level 2, where a giant carried us to the showdown skipping overwhelming darkness and a lucky -1 movement token crit from a founding stone allowed us to continually dash cancel the lion without taking hits. Truly, my hubris is never punished. Wrapped up with the slenderman going peekaboo and trying to it's already here and slenderblight IN THE SAME YEAR until I vetoed that with a cheat step and got my himbo to boast ritual an extra endeavor and bonus movement for the horde of babies that'll be following him next year.

If by content you mean more indomitable survivors, pinups, and other minis, there's usually a sale at the end of the month. For actual expansions, screaming god should be put on the store when they've finished shipping it to backers, so possibly this month's sale or more likely next month's.

The legs kind of flop all over the place so with them attached it's not really usable as a playing piece, which I'd be more upset about if not for A) I'm not really going to be playing with spidicules very often, the fight is fun but everything else around him fucking sucks and B) I know where to get a recast of him if I ever really want to have a proper version

Man it's kind of weird knowing the only expansions left that I care about are COD, First Hero, and Silver City, because I don't care about inverted mountain or abyssal woods. I'd like to get Dead armor too but I'll wait for gameplay reviews to come out so I can see if Adam's trying to jew us again with needing to buy 6 other expansions to make it work like green knight.

Because the monsters don't look cool. Once CoD is done I'll have enough gameplay to last me the rest of my natural lifespan, so everything is after is purely based on what the like look of on my shelf. All the quarries in inverted mountain look retarded and I don't like the look of any of the stuff in abyssal except the lotus.

Alas, the vignette survivors failed to prevail, mostly because sage was a retarded cunt who did nothing, constantly got knocked over, and both times she hit anything she hit the trap, the second time dooming her because she was the last one alive. thin your paint
white primer, always
contrast/express color
highlight
targor rageshade everything
re-highlight to clean
eyes are hard, the simplest way is : black dot, white dot, pierced the white with a needle for the pupil
done
>>
>>98097648
What I don't get about thinning my paints is that when thinning paint certain colors flow buttery smooth over the figures while others (in my case, the skin color) refuse to cover areas without applying like 5 layers of paint
>>
>>98097740
always give a good shake to your paint pots
Sometime, depending on the color and the brand, the medium/pigment mix can change. You'll have to find the right touch i guess. In any case it's always better to apply more thin coats than a too thick one that will ruin the sculpt.
>>
>>
>>98097740
My "very quick and dirty" skin technique is
>prime white
>do a pass on all skin with a heavy brush of carroburg crimson
>kislev flesh
The slight red shows through when you thin the flesh and looks alot more natural and requiers less layers. I find that most people stop a layer short on skin, when its usually your thinnest coat.

Manhunter suffers a similar fate in a hilariously fast manner. Also hilarious was the settlement events that had the returning survivors ignore a preplanned murder that had occurred due to some hunt event in a previous year (the victim was possessed anyway, no one liked him) so they could aura mog the manhunter in an invigorating departure. I like to think they did the livesly walk right from the slenderman threatening one part of the settlement to the the manhunter menacing another part, ignoring the crime scene and hanging going on in the background.
Also funny is how despite having a height boost from a printed base, the cain mini is the same height as the manhunter.

Challenged the black knight...we beat him, but lost my 1 away from mastery spear specialist in the process. Didn't realize quite how much terrain damage he could do, she didn't even get a chance to die from falling off, she just ate 5 damage to the head and her skull imploded after getting bounced through a wall. Definitely not bringing rawhide next time. Still, got club mastery back at the settlement and the twilight sword's bounced to its new user, so we proceed.

Nice, I had a nice run tonight as well, I wanted to see if I could get the lion slayer tonight so I took a gamble and hunted the level 3 gigalion. It was pretty brutal, especially at the start when it kept missing with a 4+ accuracy zanbato, and I had the trap in the first 3 cards, but luckily I had an extremely cracked hunt phase this time and my tank got leprosy and we found the cyclops knight and got the steel shield and sword, so between a 30 insanity immortal buffer and effectively infinite dodges from the shield I was able to make it our relatively intact included in thar cracked bunt phase was my gathering survivor managing to hit the deepest level of mining, plus we had an iron ore in the showdown, so I brought home 6 iron and was able to craft the perfect slayer. I look forward to stunting on the nemesis fights to come now lol.
>>
>>
>>
>>98124402
That was my problem with losing all the survival at the start of the fight: I now had a fairly useless shield that gave mw -3 movement instead of infinite dodges. But we are in end game so now I want to focus dung beetle and maybe dragon.

Check Kickstarter, usually whenever there's a sale there's also an update there. No idea why he doesn't put them in the newsletter too...
Not really interested in the resins this sale, I kind of want stonewrecker just for the mini but holy mother of niche use cases in game, it doesn't even come with the pillar as a gear card so it just represents a cloth armor starting survivor

The manhunter level 3 is down. On one hand, I can see where people are coming from saying he's weak: he's coming at Ly16 at only t11, I personally chose to buff him at ly14 and that felt about right for the difficulty: certainly weaker than butcher level 3, but those hit locations can be a real bitch and drain on survival, and if you get prey from his reactions it can be a bad time. I think he mostly just stands out for his weird stats and the fact that he's one of few nemeses that give good rewards at all.

And the level 2 black knight is down as well, rounding out the count pattern set (that i probably won't be able to craft, holy shit it requires how many perfects?) and giving a tease of the marchioness set with the gloves. Very smooth showdown thanks in part to a katar specialist, every campaign I forgot how useful that specialization is. Onwards, to hunt the screaming god

Screaming god downed, manhunter's toolbelt is fucking broken and let me completely ignore the monster AI other than the not-hit effects attached to every card thanks to +5 evasion before base stats or fighting arts. Just needed to double headband to be able to control the AI to only target furthest threat. After that, perfect slayer let me keep pushing down the trap while whittling the monster down still, even if it meant literally no one earned proficiency that showdown because the trap was third from the top and my grand weapon specialist was out.

What weapon specializations are a must have? F&T for the auto stand, bow for the fucking broken luck builds, but what else. I feel like going for shield mastery but dread the slog it will take to hit with it.

Had a fun day of hunting the screaming god, got in three hunts with a bit of slenderman bullying as a palette cleanser. Honestly I really like all the gear, and the showdown is fun if you're properly equipped and not running in trying to cheese with a bunch of evasion and dash canceling, only to have said tank die when you realize he has an AI card that literally ignores positive evasion and you have no more way to remove it. Oopsy! Luckily the manhunter tool belt is not irreplaceable, and I'm most of the way to crafting alpha armor for a real tank, just need a single Glycol Coolant left for the arm. But first, tomorrow we go bully manhunter level 4 and continue to hope I can draw a goddamn perfect hide for the vandal claymore.

>DPS: Lion Armor, Lion Slayer Cape, Perfect Slayer, Beacon Shield (This survivor has leprosy as well)

queen seems to just be spreading her parasites and that's all she cares about but I haven't done the encounter or read the book I just assume
most of the end game entities so far are fairly boring in terms of lore
watcher is just a dude in a library who eats memories so the guys aren't sure if their books are real or not, but who even cares

godhand the same
dragon just bakes everything

I'd say they're worth it specifically right around when KS fulfillments kick in. You have a lot of old backers with no interest flooding the market with boxes they forgot they bought ten years ago, before valuation is solidified. Just a mountain of expansions with no listed MSRP driving the price to the bottom, before a set value settles. I got my Screaming god for $120 shipping included off Ebay during the start of the kickstart fulfillments. Just gotta know when to time it.

>>98143835
Honestly, wasn't that bad this time, mostly because I used the gloom hammer to force the monster to scout the citadel and clear rubble for me. After that, plenty use of the deflect/block 2 of the Beacon shield and trophy taker + extra senses on both tanks meant most of his AI cards couldn't do anything to me, and I could carefully position to negate his HL cards knockback or at least prevent the knockback from carrying me off the board. In the first 2 fights though yeah, I had a couple of close calls only saved by lifetime rerolls. I wouldn't bring any irreplaceable or fragile gear in this fight and just accept that anyone you send in here has a non-negligible chance of dying. And if you're playing with scouts then uhh good luck I guess lmao.

>realized we should have focused DBK way more, but got our calcified zombato
>dunked on lion knight since our bow user got death mask
>survival of the fittest has once again, been more dangerous then a hunt

My tank has beacon shield, extra sense, 4 evasion and carapace of will. Hoping this will give the others enough time to get through invincible.

I was legit so pissed off when I got my screaming god the other day. Pages fell out immediately, and most of the book is a gentle gust away from just coming apart completely. Boutique indie company, please understand.
I emailed support about it cause the same thing happened with my red witches book but i thought maybe it was a fluke cause it wasn't as bad, and they said their warehouse team will take care of it. Hoping they're just collecting info to do a resend once they figure out a better production process or something.

>>97998939
I played a lot of solo, but have found it's actually very fun with 1 other person as well provided they're as into it as you are. 3+ I don't like, you end up with too many decisions to have to agree on, too many chances for someone to lose a pet survivor and not have a few backups, less for everyone to do so higher chance of someone getting bored and checking out, etc.
2 players is a lot of fun though, you can divvy up the work, split the decision making, you both get a fair share of fun events to do/roll for and survivors to nurture. Plus it's really fun to have someone else be there when something wild happens so you can look back and actually say to someone "remember that time when..." which is really a super fun part of kingdom death.

It's entirely possible, sure, but I would like if if my premium boutique 150 dollar board gaming experience didn't come out of the box falling apart.
It's not actually a major deal, I have all the pages from both expansions tucked into the books just fine and it doesnt technically make playing any worse other than being careful they don't fall out/get mixed out of order. But it's very much just the principle of the thing. If it happened after weeks/months/years of use then sure, I would be fine putting in the work/time/money to fix it or upgrade it in some way, but right out of the box means, to be blunt, you sold a defective product even if the rest of the components were fine.
I don't even really blame them, because shit happens. Maybe the proofs were perfect and something went wrong with every 3/10 and they tested the 7 that were fine. I just hope they do/are doing something about it.
I might end up just doing some sort of custom binding for all of the new expansion rulebooks at some point down the line when they all come out in 2048 but for now I just want my individual rulebooks to not fall apart on arrival.
FWIW the expansion itself is top notch even though Sage needing a cigarette break every round lost me the vignette.

Took on a screaming god level 3! Rather harrowing experience, even with extra senses + block 2 he just throws out fuck tons of non hit based damage by level 3, at least 6 for everyone within 2 of him at the end of every turn, probably more off the AI cards, and if you dare to let a withering blast go off, that'll be 15 damage to everyone hit. Even with alpha armor I just couldn't take that much of a beatdown, she was down to no armor and 4 bleed tokens by the time I ended the showdown with a death dice perfect slayer double hit. Now off to slendy level 3
