New to this thread, are there any non-Chrirstian and non-Satanist factions like Muslims, Jews, Zoroastrians, etc.?
>>

Followup, are there Eastern Orthodox or Protestant factions? Or is it all Catholic+Satanic?
>>
>>98091773
Iron Sultanate are Muslim, and they've been pretty open about plans for Hebrew Knights as a faction if and when they figure out how to do it in a way that's not stereotyping. Tuomas talks pretty often about how doing Christians is easy for Europeans to do, but the further out you get from Eurocentric cultures the harder it is to do accurately

>Iron Sultanate is the representatives of the Muslim world
>Hebrew Knights are a planned upcoming faction, there are mercs such as Scripture Guardians that are clearly Kabbalic/Golem magic
>The Church had a significant pivot in this setting. Most areas of Orthodox presence have been annihilated (Constantinople is in Heretic hands and/or destroyed), and while there have been internal church conflicts, there has been no mention of a Protestant Reformation. The timeline hints at a syncretic orthodox bible, so it's possible The Great Schism was put aside given the circumstances.

Not really. If anything, they are more ottoman in their inspiration. Because ottomans took part in ww1.

They are a mix of Muslim Arabia, Persian, and Ottoman.
Makes sense since the Hellgate incident happened before Muslims would have had time to culturally consolidate the region.

>>98091773
For Muslims you have the Iron Sultanate. The sultanate have a sub faction called the House of Wisdom that are alchemists/mages capable of creating all sort of homunculi, and the Sultanate tolerates them because their knowledge with medicine, weapon forging and the homunculi are very useful. They also have another sub faction of Assassins with the whole Old Man of The Mountain.

Would like maybe some protestant coded subfaction based on the Salem Witch Trial tho, even if the Protestant Reform never happened.

>>98092981
How did i not notice the chorister has a shark, also they will almost definitely get a box release because both warbands are formatted in the exact same way as the prussian box, 700points 2 elites, and some regular troops, also it makes sense that they're doing sultanate assassins next then because it'd be easiest with the units as it wouldnt need a more monstrous unit in the box

Its a bittersweet problem to have. Annoying we're already at the max-tier for our servers.
Currently we're doing more revisions of the API but it seems the largest issue is an uptick in bots/ai-scrapers harvesting the site - so we'll be looking into help with that but since the AI problem is so new, so are the solutions.
Any insights/ideas for solutions are certainly welcome at this stage.
On the positive side, Homebrew is going well.

Frankly I don't think that's possible given how radioactive the topic is without turning them into Mary Sues

I hope they succeed though because the mental image of armored up chassidim with reactive armor tefillin is hilarious
>>
>>98113609
Agreed, as long as there's basically anything actually Jewish about their version of Jews some retards online will always screech about antisemitism or cultural appropriation. There's no avoiding it with this topic. However, with the current shitstorm in the Middle East and the sharp increase in anti-Israeli/antisemitic sentiments caused by it this is fortunately probably much less of an issue than it would be just a few years ago.
Remains to be seen if Factory Fortress will be too scared of losing good boy points to do anything cool and edgy with them or not

>>98113769
I genuinely don't see any way for them to make anything with Jews for either one of two reasons:

1) Factory Fortress aren't stupid and they realize no matter what they make, the ADL and whatever other Jewish organizations (cabal) will bitch and moan at best or straight up legally attack them at worst unless they portray jews as perfect moral saints which of course would be completely out of place and retarded given the whole point of the setting is having every single faction be fucked up in some way because grimdark obviously and they know this so they would just choose to not put them in at all

2)They cuck themselves into policing their own thoughts and decide they don't want to do an ''Erm problematic antisemitism too much?'' without any external pressure from actual jews saying anything so they just scrap the whole thing before doing anything

There's no way in hell they are ever putting jews in the game, mark my words. And it's a shame because even though I hate kikes and think they all need to be slaughtered like the pigs they are, their mysticism is so schizophrenically psychotic it's actually very fascinating. There's a blood sacrifice ritual for everything, 6 million different ways of lying to god everyday, a whole list of demonic false idols and those weird black cubes they put on their body to pray which I'll admit I find kind of cool. It's a gold mine of lore and aesthetic the setting would definitely know how to use masterfully.
>>
>>98114053
I fully agree with you that their mysticism is fascinating, sadly the eternal war crimes that are happening in the middle East make it very hard to represent them without looking anti-semitic or absolutely cucked. No matter what they do they will make a lot of people angry.

It sucks because their mechanics and lore would be so interesting, just off the top of my head:

Rabbi can give blessing marker to any unit any time he kills an enemy. He can create Golems out of clay, steel, or flesh. Each has their own little bonuses, clay is an all rounder starts with a blessing marker, flesh is stronger with one more dice on melee, and steel has -2 armor.
One Golem per rabbi, they become useless if he dies.

The whole lying to god gimmick and finding retarded work arounds means they can use demonic equipment. Although they cannot buy them, they can loot them off of heretics and use them without repercussions.

Some units can use a risky action to move blood markers unto a friendly unit. Like the chicken ritual they use to transfer sins.
>>
>>98100087

Long story short, there was someone spamming our site with some bots - we dont know if it was an AI scraper or someone mad at TC though.
>>

>>
>>98114053
They already cucked to muslims, don't know why they wouldn't just make another paragon factions.
>>
>>98114685
>cucked to muslims
You, sir, need to learn some history. The Iron sultanate are based on how westerners saw the middle east and middle-eastern mystiscism back in late 1800s and early 1900s, splashed with a big dose of Islamic Golden Age (ca 786AD to ~1350AD)
>>
>>98114685
I thought so initially too, and while they definitely colored them better than would be expected (really its just if the Golden Age never stopped), they did add enough fucked up shit to where we don’t have a WHF Cathay situation.

My favorite tidbit was a blurb on currency, and the punishment in the Sultanate for defacing currency is simultaneous disembowelment and hanging. So there’s some classic Ottoman cruel punishment, which I imagine extends to a lot of other petty crimes. The upper brass of the military being effectively brainwashed sycophants to the sultan and 90% of alchemists getting brutally fucked by their own failed creations are some other bits to give them some edge. Would like to still see some more though.

First plans on campaign, wondering if I didn't overcommit on the preator/hell knight a bit, going forward I'd add a hunter and maybe extra yoke fiend or two
>>
>>98114873
Is it your first campaign? I wouldn't worry if so. My experience is you tend to do a LOOOT more of of Reinforcing instead of exploring early in a campaign. Especially on unlucky injury rolls. You'll get bumped to 800 after your first game anyway so don't stress
>>
>>98114873
In my opinion the Musical Instrument is the best item in the game, I would try to slip it in there somewhere. Maybe on the Sorc, he doesn't need a melee weapon as he will be fireballing from afar every turn if all goes to plan.
Then I would make one Yoke Fiend and one Wretched your designated blood battery, the Fiend using a Torture Instrument on the cuck slave. If you fight against other Court players or Black Grail, you can't use their blood markers so you need this blood battery to play the game properly.
The Praetor will kill just about anything in combat but is impossible to hide, be prepared for a random Heretic Trooper to plink him out of action. Also the Pistol is useless on him because Malebranche Sword and Trench Shield take up both his hands already.
>>
>>98115752
you can still gas your own wretched with granades for blood markers right. And yeah i forgot i that the pistol is useless so that would free up some budget for musical
>>
>>98114873
I've always found the Hunter to be way more useful than the Sorcerer and benefit much more from getting some xp early on. Last time I've played as the Court was like last Autumn though, so take that with a pinch of salt, the balance probably changed somewhat since then.
Also I feel like 4 wretches is a bit too much at this stage considering that they're unlikely to actually accomplish anything other than serving as spell fuel and maybe sitting on objectives. I would consider sticking to 3 and maybe trying to squeeze another Fiend in there or replace the Fiend you have with a second Knight.
>>
>>98116009
i forgot i removed the granades to make spece for something else, nvm
>>98116052
the list originally was like 2 knights, i think 2 yokes and some wretched (and preator ofc) but i felt it was missing ranged options and the knights were kinda barebones with maul and other with flamer/heavy flamer as well as kinda lacking in pure fodder numbers for actions. Also hunter is like the only thing I kinda clash design wise and couldn't find suitable replacement for in models
>>
>>98116118
> i felt it was missing ranged options and the knights were kinda barebones with maul and other with flamer/heavy flamer as well
I ran my Knights with shotguns and mauls IIRC and it worked decently enough, but usually did take a while for them to actually get into range. My tactic was usually to just engage the most troublesome ranged enemies with Preator and Locusts ASAP and/or assassinate them with Hunter's teleporting shenanigans. But your approach sounds sensible too.
>Also hunter is like the only thing I kinda clash design wise and couldn't find suitable replacement for in models
Fair I suppose
>>
>>98114542
Honestly i take some pride in it - my site's either good enough someone wants to scrape it, or important enough someone wants to fuck with it.

Sadly this kerfuffle has delayed homebrew work, but thats still going well. I might even have time to make that custom homebrew faction of mine which should really show off what the homebrew system can do (factions, custom rules, original models, equipment, new patrons, etc, etc).

The fact that the Azebs are the actual disposable, worthless fodder of the faithful factions certainly helps darken them
Yeoman and pilgrims might not be particularly potent but they're not (always) expected to be ground into the guns without some basic equipment at least.
>>
>>98114053
>>98114332
Another reason I can't see them being a big thing in the future is that all their work on existing religions tends to tie quite heavily into existing historical nations or geographies to visually represent them.

Christianity in the art features a lot of russian orthodox symbolism and cultural features.
Islam is tied to the Sultanate, which is a blend of Ottoman, Arabian, and Asian themes and identities.

And (unless my historylet brain simply doesn't know) I can't think exactly of a country or identifiable culture during that time period that is profoundly Jewish, in the same way the others are profoundly Christian/Islam.

But also yeah, introducing ethically controversial Jews of some historical accuracy at this point in time would be MAJOR skub, as well as offending Israel.
>>
>>98119449
Poland-Lithuania was pretty close to being that, huge Jewish population with distinct communities and lots of their own art. But I don't think they intend to merge them with PLC
>>
>>98116009
You can't nade the ground anymore so no more gas chamber blood battery.

However they buffed the torture instrument a lot, basically it deals 2 blood markers on the first use, and 4 blood markers on subsequent uses. Just don't be like me and miss what feels like every ~80% chance to hit, or roll a 1 on the injury roll.
>>
>>98119265
Yeah, and the captains are fully okay with civilian casualties since by their logic they get to heaven regardless.

They’ve definitely been slowly adding more edge to Sultanate which is good.
>>
>>98114781
The fact that most of what the IS does to survive is EXPLICITLY Haram is lost to Americans who, while religiously policed, are profoundly ignorant about all religions, including the ones in their own nation.
It's tiring hearing the braying of the ignorant, even when these threads have repeatedly discussed the religious aspects of the game as they apply to real life.

Evening all, a quick few questions from an ignorant anon:

What happens in Scandinavia, and Sweden in particular?

Which 3d sculptor makes the best looking miniatures?

Is the setting large enough for a bunch of homebrew factions and units, or is that discouraged?
>>
>>98120345
Scandinavia is split between followers of New Antioch, devotees to the old asatru fooled by demons disguised as olden gods, and actual heretics and demons pouring out from the northern hellgate.
>>
>>98120345
>Is the setting large enough for a bunch of homebrew factions and units, or is that discouraged?
There are a bunch of semi-official warbands that started out as homebrews.
As for Your Dudes(tm) the setting is pretty open for interpretation. For example the Chorister for my Naval Raiding Party heretics uses a ghost mini even though they are described as usually having headless undead or drowned preachers. I fluff it as she's the ghost of the Heretic Priest's wife brought back from hell as a deal he struck with a demon lord.
>>
>>98120345
Scandinavia is the Kalmar Union, ruled by some mythic king. They're doing their best to keep hordes from northern hellgate at bay. Hot shot demon called Ziminiar wants to conquer northern europe, and ascend to the title of serpent's head of pride.

America never got colonized. You have a few Faithful trading posts here and there. Heretics raid the Atlantic and try to disrupt trade. Maybe they will officially touch on it more in the future after they get their stuff right about pre-colombian cultures.

Asia there is a few things, most of it is that there are mercenaries coming to fight in the Eternal War. The Mongol Empire still exists.

>>98123240
Jew got diaspored again and now are here and there. There are plans for a future Jewish faction.

Mezo Amercia Schizo Anon I call to thee

What do you think about a hell aligned factions based on underworld gods/entities based around Aztec, Inca and maybe some Mayan gods? Like, Camazotl saw a hell portal opening in the Atacama Desert and decided to make it's attempt to overthrow creating with a few help from the demons and heretics from the other side of the sea? This way you could have both the Inca and Aztec as "faithful" aligned factions.
>>

Faction lore and shit I can find on YT, but what would be my best intro point into minis and all the stuff I'd need to get started?
>>
>>98133112
Depends on your experience with other miniature games. You can buy the resin models or print them yourself. Resin is on average harder to work with than plastic.

Otherwise you can either buy the limited amount of plastic models that are available or wait for the new carcass front to release.

Any house rules or tips for Campaign? I'm weirded out by the Reinforcements rule. If I get this right I just go to full power (fill up full threshold value) if I choose to reinforce (tho you forgo Exploring). I find that I'd generally actually rather go reinforce than gamble on the exploration table. But I find the exploring to be more fun. Anyone try playing without reinforcing or have some sorta cap you gotta hit before you reinforce (like <30% army destroyed before you can reinforce or you lose leader or something similar?)
>>

>>
>>98133807
Reinforcement is just a way of catching up for players who lost so much shit that they can't bounce back with the gold in their stash and what they can likely get via exploring. In our campaigns I was usually lucky enough to very rarely get major losses, so I basically always explored (and even when I did get my ass kicked, I had enough money in my stash from exploring to just buy my things back instead of having to reinforce).

That's the Court. Black Grail and Pilgrims can be also played like that to a lesser degree

>>
>>98134054
Black Grail has the Lord of Tumors that it's one of the best Melee units in the game. Give a horde of thralls and other ranged chaff to tie enemies down.

Dirge of the Great Hegemon is a Grail sub faction, you can have up to 3 Plague Knights with heavy armor and heavy weapons and a bunch of thralls running around. You Knights can issue order to give additional actions to your Thralls.

For a really big guy I would say Court of the 7. Praetor can easily use up 1/3 of your starting army budget if not more. Add a sorcerer, a few wretched and yoke fiends and you are good to go.

I like Aztecs as much as the next guy, but I'm not really sure I can justify American civs as a full-on faction, they're too far away geographically and theologically from the other Abrahamic factions.
I do think that they would make good mercenaries, nahuals and jaguar warriors could probably fit in the upcoming furry faction.

Let's get some action going in here. Which one of the seven sins is your go-to for running a Court warband?

Mine is Lust, mainly because i've always been a Slaanesh player back when i played 40K and i like the Lust goetic powers

Pride is my go-to, because I feel like every single one of its powers is pretty universally useful regardless of situation and it also gives you an excuse to roleplay as a turbo-arrogant prick

Because St.Meth was my first list for my first campaign and getting one of the bois to elite and rolling good ranged skills was extremely fun.

There’s a couple other pieces that definitely set it apart, seems to be a more werewolf kind of faction. Judging by the one scenario in the book, the ticks themselves might be things you can take too.

Second hand info so take with a pinch of salt, and it's still kind of vague. But a friend of mine chatted with one of the devs at the UKGE and did manage to get a bit of info as to the upcoming Court rework.
Aside from the expected expansion of each sin to have bespoke powers, items and abilities. The way that goetic powers work is going to be changed.
Instead of being powered by spending blood on non-demonic/BG models, they're going to be powered by "sin markers" with each sin having differing ways to generate them.
The one example that he was given was that Sloth could generate one by changing a non-risky action into a risky one.
No word on what the reworked powers are going to be, or how similar they'll be to the current ones.
Only other tidbits he managed to get was that Envy is the Hell Knight focused sin with not having to take Praetor/Sorc as a leader similar to Dirge BG. And that Wrath is going to benefit Pit Locusts the most.

Don’t know much about Spain's military traditions but it would be neat imo if they got a subfaction that utilized “converts” from reconquered lands. Even cheaper or sometimes bull headed meat missile units from the serpent line for example, + arquebus’ as an option for weaponry. Then conversely let any non-convert models take reinforced armor.
If the subfaction is Antioch based, maybe give them the option to take more mechs too, to reflect a veteran heavy foot infantry tradition ported into the trench crusade setting.

Don't hold your breath, at UKGE the dev said that any new faction wasn't going to be released for at least another 12 months.
The next boxed sets are going to be the updated Assassins and presumably Court to coincide with their full rules revamp that's happening in October.
After that BG is the only overall faction that won't have had a box set. So maybe some modular thralls for Dirge as well some more Plague Knight sculpts?
>>
>>98160910
I haven't really played since right after the beta ended and "complete" rulebook dropped, but honestly I think the game wasn't in a particularly good place balance- and content-wise back then. So I think it's a good call to properly polish and flesh out what they already have before pumping out big new releases. Though I imagine many people won't be happy about this
Hope I'll finaly be able to get my group back together this summer
>>
>>98161286
With implementing all of the changes in current previews, as well as the changes/errata that have already been made. The game is in a noticeably better state than from the 1.0 release.
Only glaring issues are Assassins and Court that are getting comprehensive reworks/new units reasonably soon.
And to be fair Court do still work, but they just lean very heavily on the big three of Praetor/Sorc/Hunter. And the sins don't give all that much difference, which is something the rework is going to address by making each of them equivalent to about 2/3rds of what a sub-faction would have.
>>
>>98161836
>The game is in a noticeably better state than from the 1.0 release.
Great to hear that, I was honestly quite bewildered when 1.0 dropped because it seemed like after all of that open beta testing they basically fixed none of the glaring issues and mostly just repackaged what we already had in nicer formatting. Glad they are actually doing something now.
>And to be fair Court do still work, but they just lean very heavily on the big three of Praetor/Sorc/Hunter.
I mean, that's kinda the point of Court, it's supposed to be an Elite focused faction, I actually did main it in our last campaign and had great fun with it and it honestly felt overpowered.
>And the sins don't give all that much difference,
Yeah, that's fair
>>
>>98091773
They’re pretty run of the mill leftists and so can put as many crosses in bottles of piss as they want, but won’t touch other religions.
Example: the entire game from start to finish exists doing just that, needlessly and at every turn, and then the sultanate release and is the defacto noble bright faction with not a hint of any disrespect.
They won’t release the small hats until the ADL and 1000 rav write and review it for them. So on and so fourth. Given the state of the isles where this is made, you’re more likely to get a guy fawkes Reddit atheist and “holy” Sikh or voodoo Jamaican factions first.
>>
>>98162200
I'd hardly call Iron Sultanate noble bright.
Their forces consist of kidnapped, brainwashed super soldiers.Mad scientists literally playing God, and their unholy creations that kill them half the time. But are quite useful on the battlefield so a blind eye is taken towards them.
Weird death cultists that even God didn't bother to protect with its magic wall.
And the rest are in indentured servitude to varying degrees.
Admittedly life behind the wall does seem better than a good portion of Europe. But then again if the butthurt Christians didn't open a gate to hell, they wouldn't be in this mess.
