It's a guild based system.

I doesn't matter, because players never ask what's the shopkeeper like - looks, personality, even name, none of that matters, they just care what's on the offer and if they can haggle down the price.
>>
>>98149181
It is impressive, how spam threads templatrs evolved into gibberish like "worldbuilding setting". I wonder if it is just to add salt to the injury, or to bypass anons filters, or AI-bot just generate text from fragments this way.
>>
>>98149181
The more natural the better, GMs love to create shops that cater to certain adventurers where everything is adventurer or combat oriented. You have convenient blacksmiths who also repair and make swords and other metal weapons how convenient for a swordsman, a magic shop that sells wizard stuff, wow how convenient we just happen to have a wizard in our group. It just feels like the whole thing exists around the group. It just becomes background a set with props for the characters instead of a living world that existed before the group got there and will exist after.

What kind of guild?
>>
A normal market would have all sorts of things, not just stuff specific to members of the party or things to give the group a power up fighting the next enemy, people selling fish, vegetables, places to eat, sellers selling trinkets and baubles. make it natural.
>>
>>98149833

>>

Potion sellers.
Especially when you need the strongest potions to go to battle.
>>
>>98149859
Also maybe celebrations, feasts etc with their own customs in markets in certain places like a harvest festival or something. I'm just so tired of markets being generic background sets like they have in movies for players to repair their armor, have a new sword made, buy a new wand before moving on to the next background set.

Lots of bazaars. This is how the unnatural adventurer-shops >>98149845 mentions are avoided without massively inconveniencing the process of buying stuff. The bazaar probably has whatever goods or services players are looking for, but everything is distributed out. Creates nice opportunities for social play and light investigation to find things in a controlled environment.

The shopkeeper is a talking skeleton that commands other skeletonss, and wheels around a large trailer full of random bits and pieces of interest. The premise is on a shopkeeper showing a record keeper artifacts and things they found in relation to a recently bygone war, and the record keeper is cataloguing and writing the history of the event and wants details of each artifact. He collects these things to sell normally, and the record keeper has decided to try and buy anything worthwhile for keeping if the story is important enough.

People pick what artifact they want in the context that their characters have already died(or dissapeared) and are now having that characters story told to them by the shop keeper as theyre playing and making the story of their character, and their artifact. This is how everyone makes a character, the whole narrative is being told in the past tense and the shopkeeper is the narrator/DM.

Just the same inscrutable gnome in a red hat, with a backpack three times larger than he is.
He appears at key junctions and after major battles to scavenge, and will barter you items or information.

The setting is an infinite dungeon, probably similar in nature to the pocket dimension you are sent to by the D&D spell "Maze", but permanent, and far bigger.
Nothing is truly native to this artificial plane, anything here was placed there by the mad wizard, who is functionally the God of this domain.

The Mad Wizard is Me

>>
>>98149181
Depends on the settlement they'er trying to trade in; size, importance within its region, trade connections, available items, etc.
I have a recurring character in the form of a peddler with a rickety old wagon that seems to be larger on the inside than the outside. Players can get interesting stuff if they give me some good roleplay and interesting questions or answerts. Current part got a vial of wyvern poison and a scroll of heal from him

A significant portion of shopkeepers and tavern owners coerce its workers into sex work as a hustle even if prostitution is illegal. This is pretty common in survival economies. The crown knows it, so either it tolerates it, or prosecutes the owners when convenient. The sex workers themselves can be prosecuted too, technically, but the state cares more about taxes and social order so it rarely does it, and they can defend their honour, which the state uses to keep the exploiters under a leash.

Never play games. Games are chud coded and elitist. Worldforging and story weaving is the higher calling.
>>
>>98149181
The good kind that are out to make a profit and fuck over the customer because it is a cyberpunk setting.

>>98154713
Drinking water is also chud coded too because chuds drink water.
That’s why I drink my pee. It is self sufficiency too.
>>
>>98149181
Funny enough, my one of my PC is somewhat of a shopkeeper/merchant. As he is trained in apothecary and crafts potions and medicine to use as well as sell to others as well as other products that sell during his travels. (The gimmick is he sells spice blends and soap as well as medicine.)
>>
>>98150740
what game?
>>
>>98155103
NO GAMES! This is WORLDBUILDING thread you newfag CHUD! Games are for troglodytes and low iq people. TG is a worldbuilding and setting talk board. Don't you dare to ask about games.
>>
Why do trannies hate worldbuilding so much?
>>
>>98155179
Gamechuds do. We transfolks love it.
>>
>>98155371
Not from what I seen. They hate anything that isn't pushing their woke shit. You put slavery in the setting, they're the one screaming. If you have a race or culture that doesn't accept their neo-pronoun BS. They cry and whine that it's a personal attack, even if though they can just see it as a different culture viewpoint, or just be a fucking chick in the game, that they keep claiming they are in real life or whatever.

The "Gamechuds" tend to hate your gay fanfic Tumblr AU BS and don't want to deal with you changing lore and the game history to push your gay shit and try to call it worldbuilding. That's like making a shit sandwich and saying they're a cook, then whine when people who CAN COOK tell you that's not cooking and that's just shit.

>>
>>98156123
I would never play games. They are an elitist hobby for chuds. Worldbuilding is the true high iq calling.
>>
>>98156144
...... Dude, I doubt you "worldbuild" shit. At best you just push the same three modern audience BS and always shocked that the new game that listening to your side fails hard. Why do you think WOTC is begging for the old TSR vets to come back to help make 6e right after making "5.5/ONE?"
>>
>>98156184
The whole thread is about worldbuilding. You started screaming about imaginary trannies retard.

>>
>>98159907
Clearly you aren't a sophisticated realmweaver. You must be a barbaric gamechud.
>>
>>98160057
......... You haven't crafted shit outside making a gay prom and pride event in a fantasy setting. You haven't shown any proof of anything but woke BS and thinking push burden of proof on me but never towards yourself. That's a clear tourist NPC move when they're caught as one.
>>
>>98160395
Well tell us what are gay proms like in your setting? Since you cant seem to stop thinking about them gays you must have some stellar realmforging about them

I have an interdimensional chainsmoking man with a French accent who occasionally appears to offer players an opportunity to buy a wondrous item. He's enigmatic and unique and players always remember him. Some have even copied him into their campaigns
>>
>>98160532
I am actually somewhat aware of that, but this a fantasy setting so books on economics and business major shit fits right in.
>>
Bumb
>>
>>98160465
...... I don't put that gay shit in my setting. I actually worldbuild dumbass. Go back to tumblr and reddit for your homo knock off stories. If I am making a festival for a town or region, it's not about taking it up the ass. It would be a harvest festival, celebrating a battle the region won, a famous person from the village, a small local tradition, etc.
>>
>>98164408
But what if the small local tradition is taking it up the ass?
>>
>>98164912
This is why you're not a fucking worldbuilder but just a fag. All you can think of is blowing cocks and butt stuff. Like when they try to push all these girls are gamers too because they sometimes plays candy crush on their phone on the bus or uber.
