Honestly Nexus could have been one of those Energon half combiners, then you just buy two to make a bigger Nexus. If it fails you only waste one toy slot and if it succeeds then you make the other Energon guys.

Ironhide looks nice. Alt mode is cool with the big chain gun on his back. Backout looks genuinely sick though and a day 1 pre-order.

Found T30 Cosmos and RID2001 Mirage for $3 each at a local place. Already have a Mirage, but I love me some Spychangers so I'm happy to have another one. First time handling Cosmos, man, this little dude is hella fun to mess with.

Was the paint coloring always this off from the plastic or has he just gotten worse in like the year I've had him?

He was, I saw it last year.

So, is Nexus getting his own frame? How are they gonna sell that?
>>
>>11702123
Nexus should have incorporated every combiner gimmick
>energon two-to-one
>a trailer robot that turns into wings
>and transformable combiner limbs that scramble city
>and drone components like energon optimus
>weapons are minicon combiners
>armor like god ginrai
>overload cannons and minicon head gimmick
>then a headmaster on top of that minicon
>rotf devastator wrecking balls
And etc.
>>
>>11702336
They will release G2 Silverbolt, also promote it as the frame for Nexus
>>

okay, the tism part is thinking that was an appropriate response though.
At no point was I saying what they WILL do, but what I WANT them to do.

Maybe. That won't be something they can actually promote though. Evan said on the last stream that Hasbro won't allow them to show product from previous years on the packaging.

Nexus Prime’s revel as the most basic ass Cybertronian possible was an immaculate moment for the fandom.

I kinda like how normal he looks despite being a Prime. He is like the Bob Johnson of Primes
>>
>>11702457
The robot mode is the least offensive thing about Nexus, i'd go as far as saying I like it.
>>
>>11702336
They're going to release Nexus with a new bot head based on Heatwave nd a new combiner head based on FunPub, which includes Silverbolt's buttplug

Yeah, I'm so amused by the whole thing. Two different groups of continuityfags and lore idiots got BTFO'd and I get another backgroud bot whenever this guy inevitably hits Ross here in like 2 years.

I forgot how deep of a knee bend that you could get on this Megs. He poses well!

That explains it. I was looking at the WFC deluxe and it's way redder. I like him to be purple when he's non-G1 styled. Thanks!

>>11702814
Yeah, they're built well and a joy to handle! I feel like a boomer saying it, but they really don't make them like they used to. Megs even has a spring loaded cannon, but mine didn't come with a missile. There is a color changing gimmick that, when the missile is inserted, the cannon changes colors by revealing different colored plastic along the sides.

it is downright bizarre to see such an oldfashioned, cartoony spider toy in 2026. Looks like the old 'spider-slayers' from the 90s. and what the fuck is that backpack thing even supposed to be?
though since the spider legs are on her arms, i guess you could swing them further forward to get the legs lined up properly?

why is it so.. thick and wide? it looks like the only valid part of it is the gun barrel and the pincery thing that isn't really able to pince anything... well okay, the other side kind of can, and it looks like the gun barrel turns into a ... key? on that side? like a battle-key. or a really, really thick and serrated dagger.

you know, the funny thing is, with the separate 'head' and the legs coming out of the main body, it kinda looks like more of a tick. Granted, that 'head' doesn't have eyes, it's just jaws that protrude like meat flaps.
>>
>>11702930
Man I would've preferred if the bots themselves had a third weapon mode. That way we'd have more unofficial Targetmaster/Mini-Cons to use.

Yeah, there's zero sexiness too her, but at least the spider mode is nice and cool. But her head looks really weird, it looks so unfitting with the rest of the body. It's so FLAT in the back, and you could literally replace it with any random bot head and it would probably fit the body's style more..
>>11702942
>>11702950
Yeah, the weapon is just Chop Shop's in a different color. It could change between a hammer and axe, and can disassemble to form bug wings and a weapon for his alt mode. It's actually really cool for him, not much for her.

ahh transmetal tigatron's styles are back! I would say a more obvious issue is the high collar above her shoulders. that totally screws up the head placement feel

The toy represents a version of Grimlock that exists in the Unicron Trilogy universe.

>The toy represents a version of Grimlock that exists in the Unicron Trilogy universe
No, the toy represents Grimlock in the colors he had in the G1 cartoon, with the first release being based on his original toy colors. The Unicron Trilogy one was a reference to the OG, but that's not what this is supposed to be.
This is exactly the same thing they did with Optimus and (to an extent) Arcees (who never had a G1 toy but did have an unreleased prototype that they based it on).
>>
>>11703293
anon... where do you think tits are?
>>
>>11703176
You'd think they would have had the sense to push Bruticus to the 2027 line and have the combiner Prime completed in the Age of the Primes line. That would make sense to anyone with half a brain but this is Hasbro we're talking about.
>>
>>11703295
Jesus H .Christ, anon >>11703040 is talking about the Energon toy not ML. Pay attention.
>>
I often think about how weird it is to see SS86 figures sitting in Target. These are figures of a random 80s animated movie that only a small group even cares about, but also one of my favorite movies ever. There are even stills from the movie printed on the box and it's just there, physically, in every store across America. Sometimes life's funny like that.

>>11703340
Actually I think he was talking about both
He's saying the g1 AoE redeco of energon grimlock is the same as this reveal of g1 toon grimlock for missing link
>>
>>11703340
You're the one who needs to pay attention - he was saying the new colors for ML Grimlock were a reference to the Energeon toy, which isn't the case. The ML's supposed to be his G1 cartoon colors - which is the same thing the Energeon toy was referencing, but this release has nothing to do with that.

>>
>>11703363
2010 right before the OPEC oil scare. Mainline toys had as much parts budget as current MPs.
>>
>>11703377
Yes, I know it’s stupid but that’s what he was doing
>>11703382
>obviously
If you say so
>>
>>11703363
Dunno, but I am loving the Missing Link line and Nucleon Quest Prime so last year was pretty good
>>
>>11703389
Current MPs also have as many parts as mainline toys.
>>
>>11703363
1984 is the obvious answer. You can't really top the initial success Transformers had.
2010 was another great year for the brand. The movies had made a ton of money and Hasbro funnelled it into the toys. HFTD and RTS were great lines.
>>
>>11702755
I don't know why they redid the already pretty good WfC toys instead of the incredibly shit FoC toys.
>>
>>11703402
Complexity wasn't a hallmark of MP until they became toon-tard panel explosions. A lot of MPs are simpler to transform than a number of RotF/HFTD/WFC/Prime toys. Simpler than some recent mainline figures, even.
>>
I want a new animated universe arcee since that's the least shit Carcee transformation . Plus it has a surprising number of possible repaints including finally getting a decent Nightracer.
>>
>>11703382
This general has some... uniquely stunted anons, I find. Guess it comes with the brand.
>>
>>11703455
And now current MPs have as many parts as mainline toys.
>>
>>11703504
hey, that's unfair, the MPG hot rod actually has like ~12 more parts to make the fingers individual.
>>
>>11703466
Honestly it's my fault for making a statement based on comedic ignorance
Or a leap in logic
Or sarcasm
>>
>>11703504
I just don't find that scandalous or remarkable. Do you own MP-28? It's more irritating in places than SS86 Hot Rod, but it's not especially complex on top of being kind of shit.
>>
Been thinking, how different is SS86 Wheeljack REALLY gonna be? Like, what can they do with him that would really be that much of a difference between the various Kingdom mold releases? I really doubt they'd make an all-new mold for him instead of just altering the same one we've gotten. I've owned that original Kingdom release before, and have the Devastation one right now, and it's good! The new gun with Devastation 'Jack was a nice addition. If they gave him a couple new accessories like a bigger shoulder gun and longer back fins like they upgrade kits did, that'd probably do it. But that isn't very exciting, and most people already have that, and in the deco of their choice to boot...
>>
>>11703552
it'll probably just be a repack of the autobot 5 pack one like Hound
>>
>>11702230
they honestly look all great together.
>>
>>11703363
2007, the hype of that first Bay film was crazy and it launched the franchise into even greater awareness and popularity.
>>
>>11703552
I would rather get a new mold because I'm really not a fan of the ER one. Visually I dislike how flat and wide he is, I really hate his gorilla arms with pancake forearms, his torso shape is all fucked because of that stupid ass transformation; like they suddenly forgot how to make the most basic of windshield chests. Especially not a fan of his alt mode, I get they can't make a 1:1 stratos but completely erasing its curves, flattening it and elongating it was not the right call. Toy wise the transformation is just awful, his feet suck, the ugly hand plates also just get in the way of fucking everything.
I got the slicer redeco in ross and despite it's super sexy colors, I really did not enjoy it as a figure.

I also feel like we have this same song and dance every time. We get a new 86 listing, we get multiple posts saying "uhhh why would that be a new mold we have already have this really shitty ER one packed with siege's sloppy seconds!" and then it comes out and surprise! It's a new mold! Every fucking time
>>
>>11703363
For movie toys 2009. Revenge of the Fallen Sideswipe is one of the best figures but Dark of the Moon Sideswipe sucks a big fat dick with how ugly and bland it is.
>>
>>11703552
>>11703553
How many times are they going to reuse this mold for Wheeljack? ER, Netflix, Kingdom, 5 pack, Devastation, and now 86? The only way I'd say I can see them reusing them this mold again is if they retool the chest to be more cartoon accurate
>>
What is the point of SS84, which character hasn't already been done?
>>
>>11703627
anyone from the show that doesnt show up in the movie to give them an excuse to do a more toon accurate deco
>>
>>11703627
As of right now the only G1 figures without a Generations update of some kind are:
>The Omnibots (Downshift/Camshaft/Overdrive)

>The Sparkabots/Firecons (Minus Cindersaur)
>The Triggerbots
>Quick-Mix & Landfill
>Siren & Hosehead
>Slapdash & Joyride

These days 3D animated shows are nearly impossible for me to watch, I can't stand how cheap they look compared to 2D animated stuff, but I can at least appreciate Prime for giving me a nice and curvy robo gal to look at during my younger years.

My favorite is probably Galaxy Force, the music and the action are peak. Sadly, after Takara and Tomy merged, they no longer produce well-made Transformers series.

A deluxe one.
So it's pretty clear who they are using
>>
>>11704126
Something I'm not a fan of during the Unicron Trilogy era is the Hasbro influence, which includes having American protagonists set in America. Over the last decade, Takara Tomy has been using Hasbro's localized names, like Optimus Prime instead of Convoy and Autobot instead of Cybertron. I find it disappointing to lose their own identity.
>>
>>11704125
likely because the only people that have any interest in it is for fetishist reason. Look at your own post. It's not for an actual reason outside of wifeu shit.
>>
>>11704141
Being called Transformers already a loss of identity.
>>
>>11704144
I wish they would plan for an anime of the Diaclone reboot and Microman reboot, and then have both series crossover. The true OG shouldn't be overshadowed by what Americans imported call Transformers.
>>
>>11703805

>>
fucksakes dude, you still just talk to yourself this much?
>>
>>11704158
I can definitely see transformers reproducing in a way that's similar to ours.. plug in, male transfers data to the female, the sparks kiss each other and a new one grows..
>>
>>11704171
Ignoring that she was in RotF, Alice also hasn't been attempted as a toy. Not even in the non-transforming miniatures lines. Which sucks since her deal is interesting.
>>
>>11703956
I really need BBTS to hurry up and ship that upgrade kit already. I already regretted ordering it from them to begin with, but having to wait so long just makes it worse.
>>
>>11704171
But Alice has to disguise herself as a human to seduce Shia, it's missing the whole point of being a robofucker.
>>
>>11704018
>Transmetal 2 Insecticon was clearly meant to be a thing given the existence of Scarem, who's pretty much him in all but name.
I retroactively just called base Insecticon "Scarem" and made them the same character, with the "Insecticon" name being a title referring to the fact that he was related to the G1 dudes. As you said, they were very clearly intended to be the same dude the same way Scavenger was clearly Transmetal Inferno.

in fairness, there's a guy named Dinobot.
I just like Insecticon better as a name, since 'scarem' is pretty gay.

scarem is pretty cool though. The bug legs definitely could have used one more pass, since they don't really work in either mode, and I think the claw arms could have made even better jaws if they articulated the blades, but... yeah he's cool

TM2 designs are just so fucked up and fun. I think every era of the franchise reflects what was popular at the time to some degree or another, but none but the TM2s just pour of when they were made. Mismatched detailing, evil looking regardless of faction, clearly designed for combat, and fuckin SHINY
>>
>>11704215
yeahhh they definitely reflect some shit I was designing at the time, very much finger on the pulse. it's just tiny things that bug me. Scarem's rear bug legs need to be further forward, and shaped better. Dinobot 2's arms have one too many segments, Blackarachnia's robot arms hang out of her spider mouth instead of folding further back to let the claws form the frontparts, Cheetor barely transforms, Cybershark is stuck in a curved pose, Jawbreaker's mouth-arm is not at all satisfying since the head's so small (badass beast mode but doesnt work here), Prowl's wings are sideways, Scourge has no torso, Iguanus looks like Vah Rudania, Stinkbomb has no torso in beast mode, Spittor's beast mode legs can't quite fold up all the way (a quibble, I want this one), Ramulus has no shins (and his beast head is stuck in butting mode like a fucking catoblepas), Optimus Minor has the most impressively nothing transformation in history, Megatron's kinda fat and awkward, Sonar is an abomination in both modes, Nightglider is... fine, I guess. Kind of a nothing. Chest is too big in both modes, beast mode head and wrists are kinda stubby...
>>
>>11704234
Main problem with Megatron is that he's hard to transform without the wings getting in the way of everything. And the rubbery bits making him hard to pose and potentially prone to degradation of the rubber.
>>
>>11704234
How do you feel about the remake of Megatron compared to the original TMII version?
>>
File: file.png (1.6 MB)

>>11704240
yeah and he's just kinda weird and dumpy overall. Each part of him is great, but together.. he's just kinda... ehh..

It's also funny how he has the same shoulder thing everybody complains about on the new one. The new one basically takes all the problems of this one and overcorrects for them
>oh his legs are stumpy? make them way too long
>the tail makes the back of the head look unimpressive? shrink the tail?
>Wings in the way? Shrink 'em down!
>>
>>11704241
oh hey I accidentally answered yours too

the area I'm most torn on is the face. This should be about how accuracy, but i LIKE that face. but that face should have been put on Cryotek and it's still baffling we have not gotten him.
>>
>>11704248
Especially now we have Razorclaw, the other TMII Ultimate mold repaint.
>>
And by Ultimate I mean Ultra. Though Cryotek probably got fucked by Hasbro thinking the mold was a flop after it shelfwarmed everywhere when they repackaged it 1 wave later in too greater numbers.
>>
>>11704249
yeahh didn't expect to get him first.
hopefully he goes on clearance as hard as megatron, because if I have to pay for 22 dollar DLC to complete him... well, let's just say, I bought the original (Getting a great deal by buying two incomplete ones and swapping parts) for a reason. He needed work, but this was not it. Only reason I want the other is the same reason I eventually gave him on the new tigerhawk: totally different colors, I can pretend he's a different guy. meaning my shelf will have FOUR tiger-hawk monstrosities. Which is appropriate since I have five fucking tigers.
>>
>>11704158
Ask them about it
>>
>>11704067
He's an executive producer on Prime because it's loosely tied in with the first two movies of that time, which he co-wrote. He possibly had a hand in developing some of the movie-like visuals or the broader setting but Kurtzman is incapable of making kino, like TF Prime, so that's how you know he fucked off
>>
>>11704269
you mean the writers, right?
>>
>>11704273
sometimes you gotta remind yourself
the guy who created the big bang theory also wrote the original TMNT theme
>>
>>11704283
That duck tales version goes hard
>>
>>11704191
Scarem's bug legs are part of a weird gimmick the Basics had of multi limbed robots. So you can have him with "normal" legs or keep them separated for a centaur mode.
>>
>>11704125
>human/transformers relationship
>no size difference
Get the fuck out of here captain shit taste
>>
>>11704158
In Sunbow TFs were built as worker and military bots by the Quintessons. So they were probably made to look male abd female to suit the preferences of their customers. (Also, good chances that the female bots were made as domestic helpers or sexbots)
>>
>>11704125
I think even without mass shifting she'd still be at least a little bigger than a human. the main problem, as >>11704128 points out, is that she'd be woefully ineffective in combat
>>
>>11704283
no, it goes 'teenage mutant ninja turtles'
you got it wrong fource.
Though I would watch a show called 'jews jews jews jews' as long as it was like, channeling old Mel Brooks kinda stuff.
>>
>>11704299
sure, but the individual shape of each leg is just wrong for every mode, and the way they connect to the beast mode is similarly wrong.
I like the centaur thing..
>>
>>11704309
i wouldn't mind a human-sized transformer zipping around on the battlefield with a jetpack, if she had a particularly powerful weapon and was super evasive.. it'd be like an RPG party having a li'l pixiefairy.
The issue is Prime makes everyone REALLY big and beefy, generally size-cheating the robot modes despite there being little need to (and/or using huge altmodes) so yeah here.. tripling in height still makes her tiny compared to the others.
>>
>>11704122
just know what?
>>
>>11704314
Laserbeak was almost entirely used for surveillance. Even in G1 Rumble who was bigger than a human was pretty useless in combat.
>>
>>11704345
Meanwhile the chad Marvel Buzzsaw took down Omega Supreme.
>>
>>11704215
>metal mohawk,a buzzsaw and bitey arm, with a big ass tail sword.
>Find out he was a Maximal.
Jawbreaker and Ramulus where the GOATed TM2s.
>>
>>11704358
you know what i would have liked?
if the buzzsaw on his back was easier to actually position to attack someone (rather than to use as like, a tool) and if the wolverine (?) head SPLITS and there's an even bigger jaw in what you thought was the neck, and so now the bitey-arm is properly huge, like Megatron's
>>
>>11704215
I love this guy. Didn't get him on release, but I tracked him down a few years ago still MIB with no chipping on his chrome. He's a total badass, even if he's a bit stocky in robot mode.
>>11704234
>Nightglider is... fine, I guess. Kind of a nothing.
Still a better flying squirrel than the upcoming Timelines Bumblebee.
>>
>>11704363
The buzzsaw on his back can technically be used in Beast Mode, but the actual reason it's placed there is because it ends up on the underside of his robot arm, which lets him use it as a weapon in Robot Mode.
Also, he's a Hyena, not a wolverine - his whole thing is that he's a depressed, sarcastic fucker who spends all of his time mocking everyone and everything around him with his dark sense of humor.
>>
>>11704345
Didn't Rumble beat Hound during their first fight at Sherman Dam? I also remember Ravage giving Optimus a fight a couple of times.
>>
>>11704364
i will withhold judgment until we can get a better view of beesquirrel from different angles.
>>11704369
yeah I get what they were going for, it just felt like TM2s in general were them trying to use chrome as a distraction from a lower parts count. There's a lot that should have been a swing-out mechanism or .. just do something more than it did.
>hyena
oh that's right. ironic he's so badass then. That's the power of the transmetal driver. It turned a wimpy pussycat into a badass sabertooth, and a hot sexy spider into a gross ugly one with weird nose and lips.
>>
>>11704244
At least they fixed the robot head hanging off his dragon butt with the tail misaligned.
>>
>>11704397
true! but I can't get it to stay plugged into his collarbones

Man, I miss complex MP figures. The line alongside alternators was where the actual challenge was while everyone else who rode the short bus could keep buying the mainlines. >>
>>11704141
>Takara Tomy has been using Hasbro's localized names, like Optimus Prime instead of Convoy
Well, in this specific case, doing so frees up the 'Convoy' name for them to use again in their Diaclone Reboot. Still, I'd argue that more people know the characters by their Hasbro names at this point, so rolling with it for simplicity's sake makes sense.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to best do the Headmaster Juniors in order to increase collectability and so far this is what I have
>Hosehead: no change needed for Cab, may have Headmaster named Cab if Lug isn’t available
>Nightbeat: head and chest based off of Marvel comic. Head can be swapped with Titans Return head for G1 toy look
>Minerva: retooled chest for anime/toy look with anime/toy head sculpt
>Siren: Marvel comic head. Can swap with TR head for toy look
>Goshooter: Toy head. Can also be swapped with Siren for his toy look
I’m not sure what molds they could be retooled from though. The only Deluxe TR cars were Chromedome, Hot Rod, and Breakaway, and I don’t think there were any Deluxe sized trucks that would fit Hosehead

>>
>>11705424
Cosmos and Warpath look neat but the rest look like shit.
>>
>>11705469
It would be great if the prices were better than current eBay, but I have to imagine a Cybertron Deluxe would be sold as at least a Voyager today.
>>

Apparently some of the Beast Wars ones had problems and were overpriced by their complexity/size, but I liked Cybershark. I don't see it as a problem if they do more reissues.
>>
>>11705471
Respectfully, a toy is more than aesthetics. These are great to have on a desk.
>>
>>11705474
The main problems were overpricing and the first several waves doing characters who already had better toys on the shelf in Kingdom. Once they got into non-show characters like Wolfang and Cybershark they moved, except for the Basic flipformers they tried to sell for modern Deluxe prices. Retrax wouldn't move either, but that toy sucks and the reissue was missing two of his legs anyway.

Kinda doesn't matter dude. Like I'm not gonna argue the history of racism on 4chan of all places but you gotta understand why people might get offended at making bank off of a caricature of black people as a cartoonish savage, right? It's a way to abuse other people and gain favor with the current culture so of course most people will take it. The same impulse that had people lynch the Irish is what drives others to call people's employers over owning a Golliwog.

Compromises must be made. We know Nexus was originally a leader class, until they bumped him down to voyager and decided to do limbs separate.
I'm betting liege was the voyager that got bumped up to leader, which meant they scrapped the original idea for him, and so they decided to make him share a mold base with unicron soldier.
Replace the big horns with wheels and put them under his jetpack instead of the side, and he's lining up pretty closely with tank unicron.

We're probably getting a redo of armada unicron in 27 or 28
>>
>>11706997
My guess, if the Unicron toyline theory is correct, is that we’ll get two Commanders in 2027 (BWII Galvatron and someone else) and then we’ll have no Commanders in 2028 so they can make a Titan Armada Unicron. Either that or Armada Unicron himself would be a Commander

you can either put them up individually on ebay/mercari or you can do 'lots' of similar toys that someone might want all of.

and just keep an eye on what others are selling it for, and go lower

then sit and never make a sale because it's 2026 and nobody has any fucking money.

I have an idea for a line, since the price hike is making the Titan class very different to sell. My idea is a build-a-figure concept where each Deluxe, Voyager, and Leader class comes with an interactive platform that is part of a Titan class figure. This would also helps those unpopular toys from shelf-warming.
>>
>>11708718
So... a combiner?
>>
>>11708747
Would you consider build-a-figure combiner?
>>
>>11708718
generally dont like BAF because it makes me buy stuff I have zero interest in. I actually like the new titan way of it being smaller and cheaper. always found most titans too big to be fun to mess around with and they're often way out of scale like Tidal Wave. I wish Tidal Wave was a Commander like Jetfire or a small titan like Star Optimus Prime. I think Jetfire/Star Optimus is my limit for getting bigger figures these days
>>
>>11708750
>>11708747
The 3 minicons the kids from Armada had that combined would be decent little packins for Aramada figures. Same for stuff like the blaster and sword and shield but they made the sword Nemesis Prime exclusive
>>
>>11708750
I didn't before, but now that you mention it, they kind of are, especially the frame combiners.
>>
>>11708756
That comes from a business perspective to ensure everything they produce sells out by giving collectors an incentive to buy unpopular characters. By doing so, you would probably see a lot of those unpopular characters selling in secondhand markets, but this will certainly keep Hasbro profitable and allow them to keep the brand going.

My point is you can look at the holes and use them for scale reference, numbnuts. Ironhide looks roughly Leader sized, Blackout looks Commander-ish. They're definitely too big for nu-CHUG but would probably fit OK with HFTD era mainline, if a little large still. Ironhide will probably look slightly too small next to MP carbots in alt mode but be about the same height in bot mode.

If he was still a MH-53 Pave Low, yes. This one is loosely based on a Eurocopter Tiger, a much smaller helicopter. He does take some secondary inspiration from other larger attack helicopters like the Mi-24 Hind, but they're still smaller than the Pave Low.
But that's what I meant when I said they're either large CHUG or small MP. We don't have a definitive scale reference for these versions of the characters relative to other continuities, and they land at a size where you could probably make an argument to fit them in either group.

They do that with most of their product shots, especially their roleplay toys. They do the same thing for Marvel Legends shields or Star Wars masks

>>
>>11709192
I haven't seen anyone point out the differences yet but it does look like a decent amount of retooling has been done

the arms are completely different, crotch too, and the shins/knee pads are definitely changed. Feet and white sections of the legs are the same as siege and the torso section has been mostly degreebled. Definitely counts as an extensive retool but entirely worth skipping.

The Axpear of Longinus.
>>
>>11709228
It's weird, a lot of the new parts seem to be identical in size and shape, just with less greebling.
Like they just went back and edited the cad.
>>
>>11709147
>Not the neutral frown, he gets the extreme one.

Who the hell is coming with that one, then? Starscream gets the smirk, and jt bothered me they didn't use that one when it's objectively the most fitting for both these characters.
>>
>>11709209
Crazy what zero expectation can accomplish when paired with total incompetence.

>>11709237
That'll be exactly what they did.
>>
>>11709237
Probably for stuff like the torso, but the shoulders, crotch, and shins/knees are entirely different shapes outside of the greebling.
>>
>>11708861

Not only are these horrible photos and storing conditions but no real list or info
I do want the Pepsi Prime and G1 Hotrod tho

>>
>>11709271
Any in particular that you feel disappointed by compared to the version in your head, or just the general feeling?
>>
>>11709121
I don't know why they can't just upscale the third party Legends one from ages ago. That one got the cartoon design spot on.
>>
Shockwave's alt mode is crap, Astrotrain's everything is crap, WJ and SS are straight up repacks of figures I already own and Kranix looks fine but nothing special. Some 40th, Hasbruh.
>>
>>11709121
How much did the jizz-looking smoke take out of the design budget? Fuck is he ugly.

>>11709121
This is a mess
DCS wins again

>>11709125
This is just sad but I do think it's -slightly- better than DCS
Cleaner in some spots but they missed fixing the two major spots to me that needed it
The feet and the awful "bridge" parts of the Alt Mode that definitely could have been stealth updated to better be the Gun Handle

>>11709127
>>11709129
5 Pack chads from years ago still winning I guess?

>>11709147
Face isn't so bad and I'm really liking the Thundercracker but some parts bug me
He's ABSURDLY stiff and annoying to get into alt mode in the leg/back parts
Hoping that get's better
>>
>>11709121
I honestly think DMC might be the better toon Astrotrain. Yeah, the shuttle mode sucks but SS86 isn't much of an improvement, it's still messy in the back.
>>
>>11709294
Train mode's pretty bad too. He's pulled back his train foreskin but the wheels still don't line up.
>>
>>11709121
Shuttle mode is passable, train mode would be good if the top front quarter wasn't shrunk compared to the rest of it, but it is so it sucks, meanwhile the robot mode is pain.
>>
>>11709281
Shockwave mostly. I'd argue there isn't a toy from the modern era (Siege onwards) that needed a total redo more than Shockwave. A retool of Siege, no matter how extensive, is unacceptable when >>11709210 is the result.

Scattered memories of discussions past
I just seek answers

>>11709197
The boxart is using the siege renders for the alt modes lmao.
Hasbro really did fire their whole marketing department.
>>
>>11709127
>>11709129
Rereleasing the 5-pack autobots individually isn't a bad idea on paper, but they should have done some minimal retooling, and then they would've truly made them toon accurate. Not that I really care for cartoon accuracy, but it clear that SS86 has no truly unified aesthetic and it's just a mess
>>11709360
There never was a MTMTE Sunstreaker. All we have left for that subline are the 86 Insecticons, Starscream, and Prowl

>>11709192

Crazy part is, for the US this is still the best economy we've had in 5 or 6 years.
Covid wrecked a lot, and the "solutions" were short term helps that made things worse down the line.
Probably gonna be another year before we get back to that amazing 2019 economy
>>

>>
>>11709458
Eh, Mighty Max and Tigersharks are both back with toys that are $65 and up for less than what a Transformer can do. Somehow, despite everything, Transformers still is the best deal in town.
>>
>watched video

Overgear line is literally just Toyrise line under a transformers label

All those 3/5mm holes and "premium" pricing are ust a continuation of the current Toyrise system.

I wonder if not can't actually use Toyrise label because it is transformers

>Preorder 100 USD

I probably going to get blackout only. Truck has been overly done
>>
>>11709474
>Preorder 100 USD
Disappointing news. If done right Overgear would've been the shot in the arm Transformers desperately needs. This should've been the next main line rather than another "high end" one.
>>
>>11709121
So Astrotrain is a heavy retool of the Siege mold, right? The legs and wings look like they teansform identical to Siege Astrotrain.

The latter. Some company got the rights, decided to bring it back, but then rebrand everything anyway because "we love Mighty Max we don't want to tarnish that memory of him from our youth".

The backpack and feet parts will still work because those parts are the same on SS86 Shockwave. The shoulders are a different shape though and it looks like the 5mm port on are gone, so the shoulder armor will have nowhere to attach.
