Newest teaser of RPG figures, confirming both a female with new cloth sculpted limbs and a dwarf with the new build. Personally I'm excited for both since cheap dwarves on the new body will be fantastic to get a hold of, and the old 2.0 female figures could use some new life. Hopefully that's not the entire offering though, I know we should expect character packs and all that but I really hope they make some of the monsters available as well. We need more cheap Orcs and Goblins and Skeletons.
>>
>>
>>11705398
They dropped about five figures, then some repaints of those figures then kind of ended the line. Haven't seen any new teases or any kind of of mention of new figures for the line.
It's a shame too because the figures were pretty solid, especially for NECA standards. While a bit stiff, the sculpt and accessory counts more then made up for it. I would've loved to see them do a Mercion or a Northlord.
>>
>>11705398
I'm guessing they still have the license because they released a wave of 3 of Ben Cooper costume kid figures dressed as Strongheart, Warduke and Zarak, but I doubt any more newly molded figs are coming. I'm sure if they sold well enough they'd be pumping out more of them, but NECA rarely announce when they are shelving lines. We never got an announcement directly from NECA that Gargoyles was done, it was just second hand info from the guy that does Toy Collectr mag.
>>
>>11705566
I don't want to sound anti-Neca or anything, they do have some nice figures....but I was exceptionally disappointed with their Gargoyle stuff. I do like how deep they planned to get and how they actually finished the main clan, but the figures themselves left a lot to be desired.
Sad to see the line die as I know it had fans, especially since they never came out with that Coldstone figure they were teasing, but I kinda hope a different company takes a shot at the license. Though short of some sort of media revival, I doubt anyone will be going for it any time soon.

Well she's a 1:12 figure that stands 7" tall meaning she's supposed to be a 7' tall muscle mommy. She'll be taller then most other figures including Legions guys, so that "shortness" will go away real quick.
>>11705713
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to, most chinese figures use standard bodies with removable gear over em to maximize the use of the mold. Her soft goods seem to have a velcro strap in the back so I can only imagine all the stuff comes off. Whether it's detailed is another matter, but at that point that's something you could easily add yourself.

I don't think they gave an explanation for the She-Ra figure and it was just dropped there. The other is part of a line apparently called Wilderness.

I presume they are just prototypes before joint-cutting.
The potential scale may be an issue, but previous D20/Fish Toys mounts have been marketed as compatible with Mythic Legions and Xesray figures, so hopefully their historic or fantastic non-anime figures will not be much bigger than those lines.

I loved the Gargoyles line, but it had issues. It's not worth dragging them up in this thread though, because I can see somebody is already mashing the Independent Thought Alarm button.
Mondo did show off a 1:6 scale Goliath and Bronx at SDCC last year, so maybe they might eventually do 1:12 scale as well. But I'd expect them to be in the same price range as their MOTU and RGB stuff, so another finger curls on the monkey paw.

Weird. I got a second tracking number for my Shuten Doji from Gundamit.
The previous time I had this happen was when they sent the Fury Toys Wukong and its little bonus monkey separately, but I think we had concluded that this Shuten Doji demon has no bonus. I wonder what's going on; surely they didn't fuck up and send a second demon.

Wasn't aware someone else was taking a crack at Gargoyles, though 1/6 Mondo stuff is definitely not something I'm interested in. Their 1/12 MotU 20XX stuff looks fantastic though, but yea those prices are rough. I like He-Man well enough and all...but I'm not THAT big of a fan of the franchise.
1:12 Gargoyles however, depending on how they look and feel, may get my money.
In other news, first shipment of Rising Sons got to the 4H warehouse. Sadly their All-In Crate got randomly flagged so that's getting delayed, but anyone who ordered loose figures should start getting their shipments in the next few days. Figures the one time I get an All-In is the first time the All-Ins aren't sent out first.

I love that they included a "sakazuki" sake drinking cup, since Shuten Douji (literally "sake-drinking lad") was infamously known in myth as the oni that got drunk a lot, to the point that it led to him being slain in his sleep. He could easily work as a new boss for my Figma Sekiro to fight.
Joints are tight but they have a lot of give since many parts/individual pieces are made out of soft plastic, think like an oversized Mezco 1/12 figure. Honestly very happy with how the figure turned out, I genuinely want to thank the anon who first alerted this thread with the updated sculpt.

Update: upon closer inspection, I discovered that one of the small copper spikes on the sides of his helmet seem to have been snapped off. Doesn't look like it was broken in the box and it seems more like a molding error due to the metallic paint covering even the snapped part. Don't know if mine is an isolated case but I'll just consider it as battle-damage given how some of his gear already look the part.

While he's heavy, he's not so heavy that he can't do more than just standing poses, but you do have to be careful so he doesn't topple over from his own weight. I will say, I'm not nervous about posing him around since his leg joints are very sturdy and hold their pose really well.

You just have to be mindful of where his legs are pointing at and how his hips/knees are positioned for an even weight distribution due to the skirt armor and cloth pants hiding them from view. His arms joints are strong enough that they won't sag down in an action pose.

So 4H just teased this pic of their RPG starter set, and normally I wouldn't care much about their TTRPG offerings but I felt this pic should be shared. Mostly because it shows off an Orc and Skeleton we haven't seen before. They're using all the standard Legions parts (the skeleton even has Lijae's helmet) so it's not like there's artistic liberties being taken, so it's possible that we may actually get figures of these designs. I hope that's true because that Orc looks menacing and I'm always willing to add more to the horde.
But one other thing to note is the Dwarf, this could be a sort of sneak peak as to what his build will be. This look and the teaser kind of match up with the same pauldrons, bare arms and wrapped armbands, not to mention the same hammer. I would kind of prefer they used the newer body, but that banded armor can work in the right colors.
We do know for sure there will be at least four heroes, but I can't see them NOT dropping some villains to go with it and cheap Orcs and Skeletons are very much on the top of my wish list.

Ya know, while writing that post I spent about 20 minutes trying to confirm which brand the figures actually were, and eventually did discover my mistake. But by the time I did I had completely forgotten to actually correct my comments and just posted it anyway because I'm a dumbass.
But yes, you are correct they are Revoltechs, and I am excited for them regardless. I pretty much re-read the Manga like once a year or so and I absolutely never expected them to get modern figures so I will very much try to support whatever they put out.
>>11708318
Average Legion figure stands about 6 1/2", they just have huge heads that make them look bigger. They are taller then Marvel Legends and many other western 1:12 lines but not ridiculously so. Amazon girl, if she is indeed a full 7", will be slightly taller then the average Legions figure.
>>
>>11708038
>cheap Orcs and Skeletons are very much on the top of my wish list
We are so overdue for a new Orc Legion Builder that it isn't funny. Using the new Urzokk head for one seems like a no brainer, and I will never say no to another skelly. Also I would be down for them doing another run of the Ogre with that screaming Argamedes head. I'm fine with my humans being stoic and stone faced, but I've never liked that the orcs and ogres have such blank expressions. We also need a new Goblin LB, but that goes back to my greentext
>>
>>
>>11708383
I would LOVE to see new Legion Builders, but the fact it's been two years since the last LB wave and the Silver Knight LB cost $30 when it came out, I honestly doubt we'll ever see an actual return to that subsect of figures. I feel instead of Legion Builders they're going to use these RPG figures as their "discount" class of figures as they seem to want this line to be more of an evergreen offering. The generic concepts, lower price point and now expansion pack sets basically feel like these guys are meant to be army builders. Unless they drop a surprise Reinforcement wave on us at the April sale, any hope I had for more Legion Builders will be officially dead.
>>
>>11708397
>it's been two years since the last LB wave
Holy shit, it really has been that long.
>and the Silver Knight LB cost $30 when it came out
I "justified" the Silver Knight price because fully painted faces are one of the more expensive parts of a figure. Also I bought the 12 pack so it worked out to be $25 each, which was the same price as the previous Legion Builders which never had an army builder pack and only got an All In for the wave. I wanted 6 Templar Relic Guards but I didn't want 6 Silverhorn Sentries, not that I could if I wanted to since the initial sale limited it to one All In, and the All In sold out pretty quickly when the full drop happened.
>I feel instead of Legion Builders they're going to use these RPG figures as their "discount" class of figures
Now that I think about it, considering their basic figures have gone up in price by $5 each thanks to the tariffs, I doubt we would get $25 Legion Builders if they did another wave. If they are right that these are going to be $30, it's not a bad deal for what is a fully painted figure with slightly fewer accessories. I just hope they think more about army builders when deciding what a base figure is. Like I said earlier, I would have bought more paladins if they chose that to be the base figure instead of the cleric.
>>
>>11708446
>Holy shit, it really has been that long.
Yea, kinda took me by surprise too. I feel like an army builder wave should be a once a year thing, but I guess with everything else they have going on, the cheap figures are the first ones cut.
>I just hope they think more about army builders when deciding what a base figure is
The change from Paladin being the base to the Cleric is honestly kind of jarring and something I'm not particularly fond of. I agree the Paladin would've been the far better choice to have as the base figure just because a knight is way easier to sell as a generic figure then an old guy with a hood. Both sets have the same amount of paints, the only difference is instead of getting the staff with the Cleric set you get the Shield with the Paladin set...but honestly the wooden shield doesn't really work for a "paladin" to me. They could've swapped the staff with the shield in the Cleric set and I wouldn't have had any issues with that change.
>I bought the 12 pack so it worked out to be $25 each
That's awesome, part of me wishes I could've done that. But even at the lower price per figure I don't think I could've justified getting a dozen of the same figure. My collection is already overbloated that even having certain factions use "unique" figures they're starting to each reach double digits. My actual "Knight" faction only has a pair of Templar Legion builders as the only non-unique figures and that's up to eighteen members...counting the figures still on the way.

Neat, colors will make it hard for her to fit neatly into one of the pre-existing factions, but I love the build and the new pieces. A bit more "armored" then what would normally be expected of a "Wizard" imo, but she can work as a ton of different character types with the right gear. It's sort of a shame she don't have bare legs to match the arms, but the new pant legs will be nice for changing up the look of female figures going forward.

Awesome, I think this is confirmation that the updated hooded female head included with Azza in the Agbendor wave is using the faceplate system. I would love for them to do Faustia V2 with this head. She is definitely one of the figures I no longer own that I wish I still had.

Well my shit luck continues. I got my Tyrande, she arrived really quickly actually, but she came with a pretty bad paint fuck up, she has a big black line across one of the eyes. Unlike the Sylvanas figure, because she has all white eyes I think they glued her face down so I can't even open it to rotate the eye around to hide it. She also has quite a few other messy paint blotches from the silver paint on the white parts, which is a shame. I've sent Bombusbee a replacement request, but I don't hold out much hope, I really wish I had bought her from Gundamit now, I know they would have sorted me out.
Anyway, aside from that, she's pretty cool, the face turned out a hell of a lot better than it looked in the promos which is a nice surprise and all her joints feel really smooth. After my disappointment subsides I'll take some posed photos tomorrow or something

So pic related was just announced as this year's "Touring Figure" essentially you'll only be able to buy this at live events with the 4H or official 4H retail partners. At the end of the year they'll have an online sale where they actually have half the stock of this figure saved up this time. The original Legendary Barbarian sold out obscenely fast, so hopefully this one has better limits to give people who can't attend live shows a better chance to grab her.
Overall I think she looks fantastic and I'm excited to grab her. I'm pretty sure that's a new head, but it's so similar to many other faces that it's honestly hard to tell. I also wish the alt faces were different, or at least did the hair thing of the Barbarian. But I guess getting four full alt heads is better then getting a bunch of extra hair pieces that can't be used on anyone else. The gear looks great though, love the new belts and the new weapons look fantastic.
Last year I had to wait all the way until october to get my Barbarian, but I won't be hitting up NYCC this year so I may end up having to wait until the actual online sale. Last time it was an absolute mess, but the 4H are pretty good about learning from their mistakes so hopefully this year they have way more in stock and actually limit the amount you can buy at first.

Ya, they had it on display in Germany, so I figured they'd have it at their booth at NY, but no one's posted that booth afaik. And ya, no one's (4H or Moose, though the latter doesn't seem to have much of a social platform) talked about it since that one slide last year, but I wouldn't expect anyone to. The 4H didn't get the most welcome reception since their post about it, so who knows if they'll post anything about it once it releases, but I still think it looked interesting enough and was hoping to see more from it.

An update on the RPG Kickstarter.
Next Monday 02/23 at 8pm EST will be a livestream on their youtube to show off all the new stuff coming for the Kickstarter. This will be all the new figures and accessory sets, as well as whatever modules, miniatures and whatever else they drop for the game itself.
The Kickstarter will begin Wed 02/25 at 11am EST and run until April 4th. There WILL be some limited Reward tiers (The SDCC Cleric is most likely among them) so if you want that stuff, Pledging early is encouraged. You can always add more to your pledge if you decide to add more to your rewards and Kickstarter doesn't take money until the project ends.
So far we know that we're getting at least four new figures, and each of them should have an accompanying expansion set. We've seen the Cleric set with the Paladin upgrade (should've stayed the reverse of this), and they've shown the Elf Thief and Female Wizard, but not their add-on sets. We also know a Dwarf is coming and I'm still holding out hope for at least a new Orc and Skeleton as well. But we'll learn all the official details next week.
I can only assume they'll drop more teasers this week though, but with Arkhan's pre-order ending soon, I'm sure their focus will be promoting that.

>so hopefully this year they have way more in stock and actually limit the amount you can buy at first.
As an international, it was disappointing that the Barbarian sold out so quickly because of the lack of purchase limits. I was kind of on the fence since he almost feels redundant with all of the Conan figures getting released, but I still might have bought one.
This chick is much much higher on the totem pole. That face paint seems to be inspired by Senua from Hellblade, almost like a mashup of her looks from the original game and the sequel. (picrel)
A shame the hair is so generic, but this might be the closest we get to a Pictish warrior girl for a long time. I am looking forward to hopefully adding her to the shelf.
Don't fuck up the online sale, 4H.
>>

Yea, the hair they went with is so generic that I thought it was a repaint at first. It IS different from other female heads though, but overall feels too similar to really be interesting. I wish they went with a more wild and flowing hairstyle or something for their Not Sonia as she's always depicted with some big hair energy.
It's also amazing they can make a brand new female head and have it feel overused with only one figure...

The one fag from BossFight took time off his bitching about ICE to have a meltdown about this hurting their sales of their Red Sonja figures. I went back to copy and he deleted the post. I’m sure someone archived it. It could’ve been the lawyers too.

It's fantasy enough for this thread. He's cool and I'm glad they're making him, but I don't know if I can budget him into my collection. I like John Carter well enough, but he's no Conan. Maybe if Woola had more articulation I'd bite, but as is, I have other lines to prioritize.
Now once they do Dejah Thoris I'll be interested.
>>11715841
Yea, it was just announced on their Instagram. Kinda shitty on the part of whoever owns Sonia as it was distinctly different enough where it's not infringing anything. "Red Headed Barbarian Woman" is a very broad category and not exactly something that can belong to a single creator. Hell, it wouldn't have even been the first....or even the second....red headed barbarian woman in this line. Hopefully the 4H drop the reds in some sort of head pack, because a lot of people were hyped for that one with the facepaint, myself included. Without that head, the two remaining ones are honestly super boring.

It sucks. I'd say that the figure is legally distinct enough, especially since it includes three different hair colors, but I laughed when I just read their announcement and they worded it like it was their own decision to remove the heads out of respect after they determined that they had unintendely made her too similar to an existing character... and some of the members of the cabal act like they believe them.
>Regarding the "2026 Touring Figure", the Legendary Warrior - this figure was designed as a generic female barbarian warrior for the Realm of Mythoss, and we packaged her with various hair colors so figure fans could display this figure how they saw fit. After getting this figure in hand and posting the initial promotional images, we determined that certain presentation elements created an unintended similarity to an existing fantasy character.
>To avoid unintended overlap with that existing fantasy character and out of respect for others' copyrights, we have decided to remove the two heads featuring red/orange hair from the Legendary Warrior figure. While we know fans were excited about those parts, as were we, this adjustment allows us to move forward confidently with the figure as originally intended — a generic fantasy warrior for Mythic Legions — without unintentionally infringing upon any existing character designs or copyrights.
>All promotional images on our website and social channels have been updated to reflect the final configuration of the figure.

>>11715905
The 4H are generally nice guys and try to work with other toy companies so I can see them not trying to step on other people's toes too much in terms of what figures they release. They may have been pressured into making this change, but it is still by their decision they choose to abide by whatever demands were made. Legally, they shouldn't have any trouble, but they seem to be willing to change things and maintain good will then fight things to win a pyrrhic victory with their reputation.
That said, we haven't heard a single complaint from ANY of the multiple companies dropping Conan figures all directly competing with each other....which INCLUDES BFS. So there shouldn't be ANY complaint at all about a company releasing a similar red haired barbarian girl. There's got to be more to this shit then just one spazz at Boss Fight spazzing out.
>>11715913
So they could conceivably give people a "free gift" of extra heads for buying the figure. If the items aren't packed with the figure anymore then there's no infringement.
I mean, there's no infringement to begin with seeing how generic she was, but an annoying extra step like that would make it even less likely for them to face any kind of serious legal challenge.

>>11715930
It's especially bad if the face painted head was the default option. At that point it's not just a case of removing accessories, the entire figure has to be pulled out, head swapped then repackaged. It's a good thing the Legions are in collector friendly boxes, but the amount of work this change will take is absurd in how unnecessary it is. I like that the 4H are willing to cooperate with other companies to keep the toy space a friendly community, but this is one situation where they should've put their foot down.
>>
>>
>>11715938
5Ktoys ships from within the US, so it shouldn't be too bad and I have yet to get any extra costs on top of their prices. Last thing I got from them was Gold Hildr in december and she was $10 shipping. I'm sure price would rise based on size of package, but I can't imagine it'd be much worse for one or two figures in a box.

It was a legal mess, with companies buy out other companies but the company that owns the Robert E Howard characters (Conan, Solomon Kane) doesn't own Red Sonja. Roy Thomas has NO stake in her which is too bad since his version is the only one that people care about.
My question for the current IP holders is where was all this outrage and concern for the character when this piece of shit movie was being made?
>>
>>11715949
Nope, some lawyer bought out Red Sonja LLC and has complete ownership of the character. He licenses her out and even writes some of the comics about her himself, but he had nothing to do with her creation.
>>11716084
Red Sonja was really a rip off of Red Sonya of Rogatino, another of REH's characters but from an entirely different story completely unconnected from the world of Conan.
The more you research this shit the more absurd it gets. But the very basic fact still exists that making a red headed barbarian woman is NOT something the 4H can be sued over.

Well fuck. I only wanted the head with the blue warpaint, which Red Sonja has never had to my knowledge. She's had the racoon eyes makeup, but afaik she's never had anything like the head that they are removing. That sucks.
I hope 4H learn their lesson. Next time, make the head and hair modular, and display it in a way that nobody can go litigious burgerstani. I say this mainly because it would have been better if it came with two different faces with multiple sets of interchangeable hair like the male barb from last year so you could make a blonde with the warpaint if you wanted. The way they did this one felt kind of redundant.
>>11715925
>They had to remove the cape and shoulder armor too
I'm not seeing that. The updated pics on their website and socials still show the cape and both sets of pauldrons.

I was looking forward to that facepainted head as well. The blue face with red hair looked very striking and she would've paired well with the Highlander figure comeing from ToyConNJ. Like I said earlier, the blue war paint isn't something I've ever seen her depicted with.

The Red Sonia owner can't just sue because people compare this figure to an existing character. In court they would need to show explicit and existing similarities that prove the figure is in fact meant to be Red Sonja. Again, the fact that the *only* change made to the figure is removing the red haired options shows how dissimilar enough the figure is to the actual character. If the only change needed is her hair color, that means the rest of the figure is already different enough to be entirely original.
This case would never hold up in court, but the *threat* of legal action alone is enough to cause many people to comply with demands that are made.
This kind of action is literally why Youtube has such a shit copyright claim system. People with money can just make the claim and those who don't have the time, resources and funds to fight the claim are forced to comply even if they're in the right.
Also, if anything, referring to their Barbarian figure from last year would go a long way to *disprove* it was some sort of competitive release. There were MANY Conan figures up for sale last year, including one from Boss Fight Studios, and all of them seemed to be very popular. If no less then six different companies could make Conan figures and have no issues between them, then there's absolutely less harm in one company making a figure who slightly homages Red Sonja...a character who was created by stealing the idea of another character.

It's actually a nice set, depending on it's price point, and it's always nice to get more cats in the line. But they REALLY need to make some new bows. Their more recent weapons have all been absolutely fantastic, but those two crappy bow molds are still kicking around for some reason. This would've been the perfect excuse to make a new one so I'm a bit disappointed they just painted it up real nice. At least it's not the short bow.

The fact that ANY company caves into the demand of these retards actually makes it worse, since other lesser retards will start believing it's bad to even have vague similirities because it's censored.
Once one company gives into demands, others need to too. This is why everything started to snowball after 2014.

It does make me wonder if Mattel and Hasbro will start squeezing them now with their near OC guys coming out this year. They saw how things went south with this they could put them in a lot of hurt if they went after the Not Firefly offering and the two MotU figures rolling out this year. Actually could Matty retroactively smack them for the other not MotU figures?

-if- enough people just start spam posting Hasbro and Matty official sites/pages/etc about this shit?
Yes.
Even if they want to play nice this could go very bad if enough people got loud enough to draw attention that they are infringe the brand. It's bascaily what made Hasbro have to kick out 3rd party vendors from their now dead official Transformers conventions was several people reported to them via twitter and facebook that these companies existed and were selling product at botcon for the last few years forcing them to take action otherwise they be just saying to the courts, "yeah it's ok to make knock offs" and all the legal headaches that roll in from that.
Hopefully nothing will come from this but I fear this will just be the beginning as this shows a much clearer path forward to pain than not wanting to appear racist. They might be on the horns of a dilemma for a few years because of this.

>The Red Sonia owner can't just sue because people compare this figure to an existing character.
Eh... you know the figure is meant to evoke Red Sonja, I know, we all know and the judge knows. They used the red haired heads as the main look for her in the promo pictures and they even copied a Red Sonja comic cover. Customer comments celebrating that they are getting Red Sonja show the perception that the 4H are effectively selling an action figure of Red Sonja without a license. The fact that they did the same thing last year with He-Man, Conan and Thundarr makes it clear that it is intentional.
At some point it stops being a homage and starts being IP thefth when there's no hard differenciation like being a Cosmic Legions futuristic interpretation or whatever.
Technicalities like "she's legally distinct in a [small] %" only get you so far when the intention is provable.

>You seem irrationally upset at not being able to get a racist horse
I like Templars, and horses can't be racist. Or maybe they can. I don't know. I have never asked a Boulonnais if they hate when Freesians move into their NEIGHborhood. (insert Carlos.jpg)
I take issue with the fact that they had no problem making a horse that was used to slaughter Muslims for hundreds of years, but suddenly it was bad taste because it slightly resembles something from a movie most Americans haven't even watched.
Should we also get mad at crucifixes on churches because the KKK burned them on people's lawns? Maybe we should ban the Tiki torch after that March in Charlottesville a while back.
If you let fringe extremist organisations co-opt everything, you'll be left with nothing.

Technically yes, most retailers should've started shipping them out today. However BBTS, as usual, is late to the party and still don't have theirs in stock. Not too big of a deal for me though, I planned to let my PoL grow a bit more anyway before shipping it.
The 4H did finally get their All-In container though, so those started shipping as well.
>>11717112
Hasbro and Mattel are smart enough to know they have nothing to sue for. Making an original homage an IP is not actionable, it's not until you start directly and blatantly utilize an existing IP that you actually run into issues. The 4H figures, while clearly inspired by previous entities, are entirely original in sculpt, design, engineering, lore, names and so forth. They at BEST have only the most basic similarities to pre-existing IPs, and generic concepts of an idea are not something that can be protected. Firefly isn't the only character in the world to wear urban camo and it's an *incredible* stretch to even compare him to Holiday.
>>11717125
If anything, the side by side shows more differences then similarities. You can't copyright "Woman with attitude sits in throne" so the pose itself is non-actionable. Again, if they used the black haired version the comparison would never be made, which shows that the similarities are thin and vague at best. When you go to court to protect an IP, especially a character's likeness, you have to have *very* specific details that are unique and original to said protected character to prove there was infringement. It's perfectly legal to invoke imagery from other sources (See every cartoon that does the Akira bike slide), but actual protected content has to be *very* specific and detailed to actually BE protected.
The 4H based none of the parts of their figure on any artwork of Sonja, they used none of her specific names, relations, history or lore in their description of her.
And again, Jjuno exists.
>>
>>11717109

All the conan figures are officially licensed from a multitude of different sources. There's conan licenses, there's split frazetta licenses from different kids of frazetta that all own a portion of it but hate eachother, etc. They're all seething about it privately which is why they have a bunch of competing lines but legally it's all above board so they shut the fuck up and just try to beat eachother to market.
I'm glad because it means after decades no merchandise there's tons of figure options and there's so many of them that a handful at least have to wind up good.

Nostalgia is a helluva drug. Combine the fact that technology has finally caught up to a place where one *can* create a fully articulated Yoshitaka Amano design that actually captures his style (The play arts Kai Terra came close) with the fact that people who grew up fans of the Vampire Hunter D movie are now adults with disposable income, and now is a perfect time for this figure to drop.
Hell, Conan the Barbarian hasn't been a relevant pop culture character since the 80s, but the more then half dozen companies that all put out figures of him recently have seen nothing but success in doing so. People want figures of "classic" characters, possibly moreso then newer, more current IPs.
Also, I got my Rising Son all in today and that box is DENSE. I haven't had a chance to open it yet, and won't until next week, but my gosh it's a biggun. >Who said these people didn't buy the horse?
No one bought it, because some sensitive SJW made the creators change it.
So why should no one be upset that the creators aren't allowed to make what they want and deny consumers the ability to buy historical-looking toys?
>>
>>
>>11718429
This is so petty and stupid, I might just have to get one.

Again, where is the proof no one bought it?
You do a lot of bitching about "sensitive SJWs" while being absurdly sensitive about this whole issue yourself. Do you not see the irony, and hypocrisy, in that?

I got an All In, so technically I bought it.
I got a nice horse with a shitty caparison. The horse is still worth it. I would have bought a couple more if they didn't pussy out though, so it's their loss.
I wish the company that used to make the Templar capes still made the Templar caparisons, but they seem to have discontinued them.

Seems like Hatter will be making that Red-Sua ya figure as a fuck you to Boss fight.
>>
>>11719110
I know they got blamed for this whole thing, but I haven't actually seen any sources that say Boss Fight was actually involved in the whole ordeal. It was the IP holder who started harassing people on Instagram, not someone from Boss Fight.
>>11719160
REH Howard didn't create Red Sonja, he created Red Sonya of Rogatino, which was inspired by Jirel of Joiry. Red Sonja was created by Roy Thomas and artist Barry Windsor-Smith for Marvel Comics, who was based heavily on Red Sonya, and set these new adventures in the same world as Conan.
Sonya and Sonja are two *very* different characters to the point Sonya was supposed to be a figure from our world fighting against actual historical figures while Sonja lived entirely in the fictional world of Hyperboria. But Sonja in her creation was "based" on a character but changed enough to be original, just like how this figure while "based" on a pre-existing character is changed enough to be original. That's essentially how Derivative Works...works.
>>
>>
>>11718846
How is it ironic and hypocritical if the people wanted the change is all in their head? The original creation literally isn't what those SJW are defaming the horse over.
The creators and people who wanted the figure were DENIED the product. There is an actual effect here versus literally some mental problem.
Nevermind the original horse had a built in audience, because it's a popular design that's been remembered and appeared in thousands of movies/paintings/drawings hundreds of years since it first appeared. Who knows how many sales were lost thanks to the random changes they needed to make to cater to a cult.
so what's the justification for catering to a few people with a mental hangup, so nobody could get what they wanted?
>>
>>
>>11719691
>It was the IP holder who started harassing people on Instagram, not someone from Boss Fight.
Correct, but it was pretty suspect that they were spamming everyone that commented on the 4H's and Dorklair's post with "Boss Fight Studio official Red Sonja figure" or however they phrased it. Why would they try to shill the Boss Fight figures instead of directly contacting 4H and saying they had an issue? That's the part that makes me think Boss Fight's hands aren't completely clean. The Red Sonja people didn't immediately try to protect their IP. They tried to shill their licensee's figures, as though the licensee contacted them saying they felt like this figure was going to take sales away from them.
>>
>>11719859
Probably because, as stated before, they didn't actually have any legal recourse to "protect" their IP because it was never infringed. If it was something with Boss Fight, I'd imagine they'd be able to contact the 4H directly since they have worked together in the past iirc.
Hell, harassing people in instagram comments isn't exactly the best legal recourse for ip infringement to begin with anyway. If there was actual legal issues, they wouldn't have had to harass random people in comments.
>>
>>11719859
IP holders are the ones that do take down requests in the first place. how professional they are about it depends on whether they want to pay for a lawyer at that moment or not.... because who wants to pay for a lawyer for something that simple, especially nobodies like the owners of red sonja?
>>
>>11719927
>because who wants to pay for a lawyer for something that simple, especially nobodies like the owners of red sonja?
Owner of the RS IP, who is a lawyer, which you would know had you read the thread about the troll he is
>>
>>11719927
If you're handing out unprofessional take down notices, that will very much cost you in court, but figuratively and literally when you lose the case and have to pay out any damages and court fees when the other side sue you. If you want to actually win a case you do it as professional as possible or else a judge will rule against you.
From everything about this situation, it sounds like no official legal action was ever taken. It seems the 4H, as a professional courtesy to BFS, made their change, but the Sonia IP holder was anything but professional. If the 4H wanted to, they could easily win this in court, but they are not the type to do long drawn out fights over frivolous issues.
>>
>>
>>
>>11719935
is the owner personally doing it then?
>>11720018
What I'm getting at is that there's a legal route that requires payments and fees (and follow throughs) and then there's a casual, unofficial way. I doubt there's anything that they've said that will interfere with an actual legal action. Being courteous isn't a legal issue, it's just professionalism and that would affect a lawyer's reputation. An employee or owner doesn't need to care about that.
>If the 4H wanted to, they could easily win this in court
That costs money, PLUS time. There's a reason why 100.99% of people crumble when threatened with a lawsuit, official or unofficial. For a small business like 4H, that cost could be their entire profit for the figure.
You should only go after this shit if you think it would automatically get thrown out, before going to court. This isn't actually frivolous, since the similarities are there and there is intent. No amount of acting coy will keep them from needing to go to court, even if this were a black and white issue and the law was acted upon by autistic robots. Of course, robots like that aren't real and juries and judges have their biases. nevermind lawyers can be incompetent.
So is it worth it for a small business to go to court with an 80-70% chance of winning to make their $1000-10,000 profit?
>>
>>
>>11720558
>is the owner personally doing it then?
Yes. Plus "claims" that the person running the IG account is a woman so he's pretending to be his own wife/adult daughter as well. In old school terms he's what we used to call "an asshole"

>>
>>11720704

It's hard to say whether he's pretending to be a woman when he gets people telling him his claim is retarded or if he gets his wife to threaten YouTubers. Both are equally plausible.
>>
>>11720558
>That costs money, PLUS time
Money wouldn't be an issue since 4H could sue for damages if the figure was found to not infringe on any rights, but time was the main issue here. They had this figured ready to go for Zolocon next week, and if it was caught up in a rights dispute they wouldn't be able to sell it until the matter was settled. That's an entire production run of figures taking up real estate in their warehouse that they wouldn't be able to sell for maybe a year or two.

for a small business like 4H, money is definitely an issue, because that's a brand new employee that they didn't plan on having. For a company that constantly needs to produce shit overseas to stay in business, they're not g oing to have a lot of money on hand, because they're going to budget shit over a year in advanced.
And you think suing fixes every problem, it usually doesn't, especially since they wouldn't see ANY damages (and only an 80% likelihood) paid until 1-4 years later. Plus, like you said, they want to have their product out by next week and if they actually pushed to fight, the IP hold can order an injunction which will keep them from selling their product. That's planned money that they're out of for the next year or 4.
Surprise expenses or denials of funds like this can be the end for small businesses like 4H.
The fact that 4H is claiming complete ignorance about what they're doing, saying that it was completely coincidental (which they didn't need to do), shows that they're worried about that 20% of actually losing a case. Red Sonja has had multiple designs over the past half century and the fact that 4H played it vague with the marketing for the figure a lawyer could make a good case about their intent.
And i think that intent is actually what set off their alarm in the first place.
>>
>>11720558
>>11720558
>There's a reason why 100.99% of people crumble when threatened with a lawsuit
>You should only go after this shit if you think it would automatically get thrown out, before going to court. This isn't actually frivolous,
But THAT is exactly the problem. Just the threat of suit, whether it has merits or not, is enough to force compliance. At that point the lawsuit isn't just frivolous, it's outright Vexatious. Using legal recourse as a bully tool is illegal and can get said lawsuits dismissed, and if done frequently enough by a repeat offender, can actually lead to suspensions or in the most dramatic cases, disbarment.
But the fact still remains, there was no actionable infringement. The generic concept of "red haired warrior woman" is NOT something that can be copyright protected. It is far too generic a concept and Copyright requires actual detailed examples to BE protected. At worst this is Derivative Use, where a pre-existing character was used as an initial inspiration, but the final product is so wholly original that it can only be considered a unique creation. Red Sonja and the Legendary Warrior share the same basic archtype, but the specific details of their looks, their stories, their names and history and backgrounds are all vastly different.
>>11720782
This is the major issue, fighting this in court would delay release of this figure for YEARS and be a huge distraction to the 4H. They do not have the time or energy to be engaged in a frivolous legal dispute....but a notoriously litigious IP Lawyer has that and then some.
>>11721020
>>11721022
Awesome, I don't know if I'll get multiples, but one would be enough to mix in with my ever growing horde. Still, it's a great way for people to build up their own undead.
>>11721059
>>11721060
Now THIS is a cool surprise, Savage Crucible always pulls out some really nice surprises.
>>
>>11721447
Again, intent plays no part in copyright protection, only actionable, provable details that were copied matter. It has to be more then just generic descriptions like "warrior woman" or "red head and large cleavage", it needs specific, exact details in both visual and story aspect, that were lifted whole cloth and used on the infringing product.
They can say their figure was inspired by Sonia all they want, being inspired by a character is not infringement. They can even pose their figure in similar manners, because those poses again are not something you can copyright. The Warrior needs to have exact, specific details copied from Sonja to have any sort of actionable infringement case against the 4H.

>>11721508
intent plays no part in DEFENSE of breaking laws, because any fool can pretend that they didn't know, but intent can be used to prove they were breaking the law. intent is motivation and konwledge.
Hence the obvious circumvention of how the figure was marketed. And despite all the claims about it being "coincidental" (note this word is also used in copyright statements at the end or beginning of books/movies/etc), everyone knows what's up. And the opposite of coincidental is intentional.
>>11721505
>But the fact still remains, there was no actionable infringement. The generic concept of "red haired warrior woman" is NOT something that can be copyright protected
movie studios have settled for less and they have a ton more money than 4h, dude. There's a lot of appeasements and settling out of court to ensure the originator doesn't sue or win his court case, because there's a chance they'd win
You can do homages out the ass, btw, but if you try and make money off of it, the IP holders will go after you.

1) Parody is legally acceptable according to the Fair Use doctrine, as long as the end creation is unique and transformative.
2) Creations inspired by previously existing works of art are legal as long as the final product is original and new. The 4H figures shared *no details* with Red Sonia outside of the most generic archtypes, and archtypes *can not* be actionable protected content. Details matter in terms of IP infringement way more then "intent".
3) Studios and other large "creative" organizations will often settle lawsuits whether they can win them or not because it's just faster and easier then dragging out long court cases.
Again, I will point out, the only thing needed to make this figure "legal" is a change of hair color. That implies the rest of the figure is already original and distinct enough to be different. These extra heads were already packed with the figure, showing the "intent" wasn't to make a Red Sonia clone, but a figure that could be generic enough to homage various female barbarian archtype characters. Even the face paint used was an original design never used by Sonia, and the only "offending" decision was the color of her hair. But "red headed female warrior" is not something that can be protected and is too common of an "idea" for one company to claim sole ownership of.
Again, Jjuno exists.

I never liked their original Dwarf build, by the new stuff is absolutely fantastic so this guy is an instant pick up. My only nit-pick is the bare arms, because now he *has* to be a dwarf/human and I can't just pop a goblin or mouse head on him to make him a different race.

>>11721621

>>11721637
These are all stuff I can pass on. The cloak on the druid set is nice, as is the fact the bird isn't attached to the arm piece, but otherwise I'm not interested in this one at all. Also not a fan of the green hair.
The evil weapon pack over uses some of the most common weapons in the line, including that awful scimitar that every bad guy comes with. The handle is too smooth to hold properly and the end of the blade is too fat to store it as a secondary weapon. It's just a perfect example of one of the older, poorly designed weapons from the first wave of figures.
And the head pack being all reuses makes it *very* easy to skip. The chain mail face is nice, and the Dwarf head is neat for people that don't have Torgun, but the rest all feel pretty dull. The "vampire" head is especially unconvincing, as I wouldn't have even known that's what it was unless they told us.
Overalll, this is probably one of their better "waves" of releases and the low price per figure certainly helps. I plan to get at least one of each with two of the Cleric/Paladins. Though I might pass on some of the add-ons because what they're adding isn't really worth it.

it clearly isn't parody and is obviously just being as vague as possible in order to skirt copyright issues, hence no name being given to the figure.
Again, everyone knows what their intent is. 4H wants to play stupid by saying it's just a coincidence, but at least they know to back out.
if 4H were smart, they'd have created their own character (why wasn't it named like 99% of their figures?) and just had an alt head for that. OR base it on dozens of historical female warriors.... though i guess there aren't any bikini armor ones.
... didn't they already release a chain mail bikini girl??? That one should have come with the alt head, instead of trying to hype this unnamed character for the red sonja head. But i guess that name would confuse people and not take notice of their redhead head.
>faster and easier then dragging out long court cases.
Lots of cases where they don't, AND a lot of trash is thrown out. TONS of trash. So many lawsuits that never go anywhere.

>>
>>11721891
i understand it, but it's a really poor way of trying to hide their wannabe red sonja. calling it "legendary warrior" is about as great as some Chinese company making their wannabe Batman and calling it Legendary Detelctive. An iP holder will have a really hard time enforcing their IP in China, but not in the US.
Creating a no-name character with such a broad name makes an IP holder think the figure exists just for the wannabe Red Sonja, because why else would it be legendary?
I'm sure you can play stupid about how everything is totally innocent, but the fact is, everyone that's legally involved arent playing around, hence 4H pulling it.
>>11721874
the problem there is that what historical figure actually went around in a armored bikini? The best choice would have been their original bikini girl and given the Red Sonja head back then, since it's an actual named character that 4H created.
More creatively, they could had made a cloth dress for a histroical figure and under that is the bikini armor... but you'd end up paying for that extra accessory, eh?

New arrivals. Palm Elf skeletons and Shuten Douji demon. Thraice is there for size reference. Those dudes are large.
On first contact, the skeletons hold poses well, though they are very difficult to pose with precision because of joint friction, gimbal locks and many bones being connected at unintuitive 90º angles.
The demon seems a bit hard to pose because the layers of clothing andaccessories make it difficult to see what joint you are acting on, but I think it'll be much easier once I get the hand of it. I've just got them all for some minutes, I haven't even taken all accessories out. I guess I'll try some action pose later.

So huge update on the SDCC Black and Gold Paladin figure. Originally it was going to be included with a limited amount of sets with the game/all-in, but due to apparently massive demand the 4H have done away with those limits. The figure, which was limited to two different pledge levels with limits of 750 each, has had that limit removed. Additionally, the figure itself can be purchased as an add-on to any pledge level for $60 directly, without the game included. The figure will *still* be an exclusive, but instead of limited in number, it will just be limited to the Kickstarter campaign itself. That's huge news for people who just wanted the figure but didn't want to pledge right away as now he'll be an unlimited release like the rest of the figures.
On top of that, they will be adding an appropriate miniature of the figure to the two sets that include him (base game w/figure and the All-In).

No, because either I'm a retard or you guys think you're as clever as 4H in trying to hide their Red Sonja figure in order not to get sued
So is it
>You Get To Make Your Own Legendary Warrior By Swapping Out Between These 4 Heads So It Doesnt Get A Name
Or is there some way foreign concept beyond my reasoning?
4H was dumb playing this open egg shell game, which only draws attention to what their intent is, especially because the name of the figure is still "Legendary Warrior" and not a more humdrum generic "Heroic Paladin"
Playing stupid isn't going to fool anyone older than 11, hence every adult reacting the way they did. The Red Sonja IP holder telling 4H to stop what they're doing and 4H removing the head. 4H definitely has done enough to warrant the lawsuit going to court , but the IP holder probably isn't going to win.
I'm sure a lot of fans are confused because all their bootleg He Mans have gotten a pass, but that's because 4H has been working with Mattel for a quarter of a century. They're buddies with the people in charge of HeMan, so they turn a blind eye toward products that barely sell anything and aren't even sold in the same market

Planting the feet on the ground is difficult because of the tightness and especially because the balls are not aligned in a way that you get a clean rocker movement from just one axis.
You will generally have trouble making natural poses, but that's a common to many skeleton figures, and you can just say they move by unnatural magic. The tiger would benefit greatly from a diaphragm joint, as the spine is very long and not articulated.

Thank fuck. After I dumped the images for the wave, I decided to read up what the go was with pricing/pledge levels and it seemed like that paladin was limited to 750 units in two tiers for a total of only 1500 and thought it was pretty dumb to have the production numbers so limited after they said people who couldn't make it to SDCC would be able to grab it in the Kickstarter. Glad they took the feedback. Limiting it to the campaign is much more fair and stops scalpers from jumping on that $99 set in the opening minutes of the Kickstarter.
I know they did it with the intention of trying to push more units of the game, but I only want the figures since my social circle is so spread out these days that we rarely get a chance to get together to play games anymore despite several of us owning a heap of TTRPGs and various board games. Didn't know they were metal, that explains the higher price I guess. I don't know if that makes them more or less likely to break, as plastic will bend but die cast will shatter. Cool pics though.

>Time is a rare commodity when you have kids.
Ain't that the truth. I just switched my kid from a crib to a bed and now I have to spend 1-3 hours every night making sure she's not running around her room to get "one more thing". Was hoping to get some good snow pics of my recently received Rising Sons figures, but it's virtually impossible to do anything with the lil one up my butt the whole time, especially if I decide to go outside with a box of toys lol.

What you don't understand about Copyright infringement? I've been pretty clear about much of it already, but I will try to explain a bit more. And I am not trying to be insulting with this so I hope it doesn't come off that way.
To copyright something like a character, say Red Sonja, you need to have specific details about it's visual and story telling aspects that make it unique. You can't just say "red headed warrior in metal bikini" as that is far too vague to be protected content. You need specifics, like her name and origins, her exact design of clothing (notice she almost always has those same boots) and so forth. You need *specific and detailed* aspects to protect for a creation to be Copyrighted.
While the promo images may "imply" she is a reference to a pre-existing character, none of the parts or pieces she uses are designed to mimic, copy or infringe upon any actual appearances of said character. In fact all of her parts were all designed for original character and creation and the *only* similarities to a pre-existing character from this figure are the hair color on two of FIVE potential heads (not even the style or face likeness, just the color) and the inclusion of a chain mail loin piece.
The "Intent" behind this figure, which you seem to be hung up on, wasn't to *replace* or compete with other Red Sonja figures, or to even BE Red Sonja herself, but to be a female warrior of a generic nature that you could choose to display in one of many manners. Even the facepaint is entirely unrelated to Sonja as she was never drawn with said blue paint (to my knowledge, I honestly could be wrong on that one).
Again, the 4H have ALREADY released a red headed female warrior in a metal bikini that FAR more resembles Sonja then this one. And the simple fact that just changing the *hair color* alone was enough to avoid any more comparisons show how little this figure has in common with Sonja.

So to entirely change the subject, I've been diving into my Rising Sons box slowly, but so far each figure is fantastic. I first started with the Dwarf Two Pack and I absolutely love the new Dwarf Build. They went from one of my least favorite figures in the line to one of my favorites real fast. The new weapons also go a long way in making them lots of fun to mess with, they're probably some of the nicest looking weapons in the line to date.
Next I popped open Broddr and was very....whelmed by him. He's a fantastic figure, I love how is fur connects to the paudlrons and the multi-piece spear is nice...but he really didn't stand out much to me. The lack of things I could do with him kind of limited my fun when handling him, he's a figure that's "too good" right out the box so there's not much that can be done to personalize him. Dude's up there with Duban and the Necro Knights for how good his stock look is.
But then I got to the bug dude, Diis Paatar, and that's when I got a real nice surprise. I fully expected to have to hunt down another 2.0 body as I wanted to use both heads that were included, but it turns out those heads use 1.0 sized ball sockets. I confirmed this by popping the head on a red Armory Knight custom I been wip-ing and it looked fantastic. I ended up grabbing another red from the 4H site and grabbed some sphexxian hands and parts from ebay to help bug him up some.
As for Diis himself, he's super skinny and scraggly, especially compared to the bulky 1.0 figures and just feels nice to handle. The tail pack won't stay on well and those tiny claws are a *nightmare* to put weapons into. There's no way to do it unless the weapon can just slide in from the top of the grip or you actively bend his claws open to force the weapon into his claw. I haven't even tried using the smaller claw hands yet.
So far I'm loving each figure and I'm glad I got the All-In. Hopefully I can get them all open by the end of the week and maybe even snap a few pics.

You literally said nothing i didn't already talk about. I thought you were going to explain some mind blowing concept about the figure that is above my understanding for what intent is.
As I've said multiple times in my post, i don't think the IP holder would win their case, but they DO have a case. It wouldn't automatically be thrown out and because there's a small chance of them winning, this is why 4H has backed away and is pretending all similarities were coincidental.
>Again, the 4H have ALREADY released a red headed female warrior in a metal bikini
no one would ever confuse that character with red sonja, unlike this one, hence no one comparing her to red sonja when she was revealed. At best, you might have had someone ask if a jean grey head would work on that flabby body... or were they calling it skinnyfat? I forget.
>>

Intent *does not matter*, only actual, provable infringement.
>i don't think the IP holder would win their case, but they DO have a case
If they wouldn't win their case then there IS no case.
And Jjuno far more resembles Sonia and her build then the Neve body does. She's slender with defined abs while the Neve body is much thicker and muscular. In fact Jjuno matches Sonja so much she can actually wear BFS Sonja's accessories.
We don't even know if an actual lawsuit was attempted, but again, *threatening* lawsuits, even if frivolous, is enough to force compliance in many cases. Not because the one making the threats is in the right, but because the one making the threats has the resources to waste knowing the other side does not *want* to fight.
And once again, since you seem to have trouble understanding things, the FACT the 4H are releasing this figure *without changes* shows there is nothing infringing about it. I'm sorry this revelation didn't "blow your mind" but it's kind of hard to blow something that doesn't seem to exist.

Kinda wish Legendary Female Barbarian was the newly created bigger 2.0 scale buck but completely styled like Juno's outfit if you don't want to do another fur trunks and top figure. Amazon Barbarian Warrior

>intent plays no part in DEFENSE of breaking laws, because any fool can pretend that they didn't know, but intent can be used to prove they were breaking the law. intent is motivation and konwledge.
If intent didn't matter, why is 4H saying that it's likeness is purely coincidental and backed out? You can't have it both ways.
>If they wouldn't win their case then there IS no case.
that's up for a judge/jury to decide. The similiarities are all there, hence no one caring about the flabby red head bikini chick before, because she was too different to even be considered a wannabe for red sonja.
I really do think that you're basing what can be taken action against is just becaue of all the shit 4H has been able to get away with before, like pic related. Or maybe third party shit from China.
>4H are releasing this figure *without changes*
Which figure?

The newer 2.0 stuff isn't any bigger then the older 2.0 stuff. I haven't gotten to Manisha yet, but Diis is way skinnier as a 2.0 figure then the 1.0 guys. Though I would love more "barbarian" 2.0 females, especially since I need one of those bodies to use on that Pirate wave mermaid chick's extra lower body fish legs.
>>11722545
Sure, I been spreading most of those sets across figures, but I'll try and get some good comparative shots and such as well as some nice geared up pics.
I will say all the new axes stow much better then most of the older ones. And the new handles are fully compatible with all previous mace and spear heads, though not the Poxxus wave staves. I also took the big barbarian battle axe head off the smaller handle and made it into an impressive great axe for a custom I've been building.
.....I just need to make some space on my desk tomorrow. Currently most of it is taken up by a large number of Legions figures...and an even larger HISS tank.

Because the figure wasn't *meant* to be Red Sonja it was meant to be the Legendary Warrior. Two very different figures and two very different characters. You keep saying Jjuno is "flabby" but she has just as much in common with Sonja as the Warrior does, if not more, and no complaints were made.
And again, the Legendary Warrior is STILL being released with no actual changes to the figure. The two heads are included are the *same* exact heads as the one with red hair, only the color is different. And if that's all it took to be an original character then the similarities do NOT exist.
But please, go on about what actual commonalities exist between the two figures. And remember, be specific, because the specific details are what is important. Not the "intent", not the marketing, but the actual, physical portrayal of the character and the story and proper names used to describe her.
Also, this exists and Red Sonia's IP holder doesn't seem to have threatened Blizzard. I wonder why that is.

Meant the actor's new female character which is 2.0 but a bigger figure than the current women. Reusing the body for the female barbarian with new boots and some additional tweaks of gear to lay over the existing body would give you a nice Amazon without too much work

Oh yea, you're right. Honestly I forgot all about her. I pre-ordered her day one and there has been NO discussion about either of those figures since then. Yea, it would've been cool if that was the base body for the Warrior, but I can see why they went with what they did. They probably had this figure planned for years and had it produced right along side the Rising Sons seeing as it's basically just Neve with a new head.
Maybe in the future we'll see that body get used on more figures, as part of the whole "Legion" part of Infinite Legions is that the parts can be reused in the future.

>*wink* Because the figure wasn't *meant* to be Red Sonja it was meant to be the Legendary Warrior. *wink* *wink*
ok 4H
>And if that's all it took to be an original character then the similarities do NOT exist
More like that's all it took for the IP holder to NOT pursue a case, it doesn't mean it proves it isn't infringing.
>I wonder why that is.
Because it's a parody of a parody in a goofy game and it's not even a main character.
Again, an actual character that is parodying Sonja is a giant difference from merch that is just trying to cash in on Sonja. Blizzard can actually say it's taking after Sonja, while 4H has to say it's totally just a coincidence and make changes to the figure because one is fair use and the other isn't.
Also, it's not realistic to go after everyone who infringes on their IP, especially since they can't always be aware of every act. Some companies just go after the most blatant attempts, to show that they are defending their property and hope that others will stop.

Dude, give it up. He's dropped the mask and has proved that he is only here to shitpost and argue. This is just the kind of "Subject" some "Anons" will use as an excuse to raid a thread. If the autistic filenames aren't a dead giveaway, the accusation that you work for 4H should be.
