I had to wait an extra week due to shipping delays but I've finally got my blast attack. It's the goofiest looking figure in my collection by far. I guess it will grow on me but right now it looks like a figure that doesn't fit in with motu or TMNT or anything I collect, like a one off figure.

I don't regret it but I will admit that I am unfamiliar with him, I never saw one as a kid and I guess it was a late release so there's not a lot of nostalgia for him amongst fans.
>>11707902
Maybe it just needs to be broken in. I'm going to mess with it later today, after dinner I guess. I can see how the gimmick might not be totally reliable.

Anyone get multi bot yet? Amazon says it ships out this week but I thought I read some people here saying their figures shipped out. I'm getting one but I'd like to know if there are any issues with parts breaking or not fitting correctly.

That’s Metal Cardbot Night Griffon. It transforms into a sweet SR-71-esque plane, has extra parts for a mad griffon/centaur mode and feels sturdy AF like all Metal Cardbot stuff. Haha, he did arrive on the same day as Blast Attack so maybe they should stay as buddies.
>>
Just on the general topic of Blast Attak's popularity, since I'm seeing people bring up "doesn't fit in" and "lack of nostalgia":
Ram-Man doesn't really fit in with the other early heroes, being such a wide block of a figure and it never hurt is popularity.
Rio Blast doesn't fit either and I see more people say that's why they love him than that's why they dislike him.
And being late stage MotU never prevented Scare Glow, Ninjor, Snake Face, Sssqueeze or Mosquitor from being fan favs, so I don't get that one either.

Not attacking anyone for their opinion, mind you, just saying I don't get it. There's nothing I see wrong with him that doesn't get forgiven in other instances. From where I stand I would think BA should be just as well beloved as anyone else.

I think this is her only appearance. I thought it was the Ram Ma’am chick at first but that’s a super deep cut.
>>
Kek!! Clamp Champ lifting that bitch up til she calms down. He has such a goofy ass weapon but he’s bad ass in these strips and the old mini comics.

I know people are pissy about Black At Arms in the movie but that title has been usually held by nigs. Dekker was the one before Duncan, in Classics bios Champ took over after Duncan was a snake and got killed. In other media he retired and black Andra took over. It feels like a lot of thought and care went into this movie so I guess he was the most idea target for blackification.
>>
>>11709385
>Now you'll never know if this is the start of a beautiful relationship

Based Clamp Champ
Y'know what? I like this bitch. If this movie makes a star of her (or at least a notable c or d lister), id approve.

And people thought Goat Man and Pig Boy getting in the movie were deep cuts. I think Dian just took the crown. Those two are like main characters compared to her

In the mini-comics, the Snake Men are from another planet.
Filmation Roboto was from the planet Robotica.
Newspaper comic clearly stated that Gwildor was from another planet. So was Blade!
Horde Prime and some other Horde guys from Horde World.
Plundor
Huntara the Silaxian.
Shezar from that Brazilian comic.
Everyone from New Adventures.
>>
>>11709019
They should have done this in 5.5" Origins, but the Knuckle Crunchers have been ok despite being hard to find. Still need the wave with Taker and Drew to be mostly caught up. Target started to stock them but they skipped to the next wave I already had in-hand.

Pretty strong start of the year for origins, hopefully mattel remembers us origins fans and keeps us engaged while the movie takes center stage and they focus on getting a newer audience.

NTA but that works alot better than the Groucho Marx eyes. It'd probably even compliment his NA voice in motion.

How big do the 200X Cartoon Collection figures compare to the average 6-inch figure? Anyone have pics of size comparisons? Most He-Man reviewers rarely if ever compare them to other lines outside of MOTU. I was wondering if they were tall enough to fudge into other 6-inch lines.
>>
>>11710995
200X and the CGI Netflix show had fairly edgy Skeletors that managed to balance edgy and silly moments pretty well. So it's still doable as long as the writer can make it work.
>>
>>11711005
They're very close in size, bit taller, can use same mounts and playsets but side by side body proportions are obviously different. But can sit by the same table and not look weird.

I never said anything about Quick Flick in the first place. I only posted a compilation of minicomic guys I think are neat in response to posts talking about minicomics. I'm not the guy saying one lot of characters is lesser than the other, so I'm not interested in engaging in arguments of whether my glup shitto is more desirable than your glup shitto. We can get along.
None of them are desirable to normalfans anyway, they're all only appealing to autists like us that obsess over obscure artwork characters, so we're all in the same boat

Quick Flick was probably inspired by that minicomic snake in the same way Axel turned the frogman on the Grayskull dungeon sticker into Frog Monger.
But then we have shit like Red Shadow and BBC Wizard. If Red Shadow looked more like the wolfman on the dungeon sticker instead of having such a Derpy facial expression, he'd be more desirable.

Hey, any random weirdo can be somebody's demanded figure. Someone might want yeti on skiis, someone might want Captain Scurvy, someone might want even Succubug. It's just.

a) Is it a common opinion? Geldor is OC that was main villain of his own comic, he's a big as minicomic characters get, was there a huge cheer when they announced him?

b) When I look at unnamed ogre that has a one panel and not even full-body shot my thoughts are less "oh, another Goat Man, unknown Evil Warrior that could use some love" and more "Huh, someone drew Beast Man without any reference material."
>>

>>

>>
>>11713072
Day 1 definitely had nothing, entirely possible they add something.

>>11713074
Looks like a mace, but maybe it's a scrying glass of some kind? Lyn seems to have nothing but her scepter/wand, could have given her more accessories like this instead of to Skeletor. Also I guess solid plastic cape for Skeletor confirmed.

Hopefully they let Dan handle the figures, or somebody. I'm really interested in seeing what these figures can do.
>>
You think you could write a good story where Skeletor's Evil Warriors are just, like, Goat Man (and Pig Boy), Strongarm, Fang Man, Icer, Gygor and Shezar? Or do some of the core villains fill narrative functions you really need them around for?
>>
>>11713151
>they add something
Do they do that? I thought everything we see on day 1 is all they show
>>
>>11713166
You can attribute various roles to any character. Look at 200x, Tri-Klops was never the brains/engineer of the team, but he was there. Fang Man and Goat Man could be the muscle, Strongarm would be the techy one, Icer and Pig Boy the wizard, etc.
>>
>>11713166
Most of Skeletor's henhmen are just henchmen. They're job is to do physical labor and get into fisticuffs.

Sure, Beast Man can control specific animals, Mer-Man can swim, Lyn might have specific mystic knowledge but that's all situational. Even if you do need for example, a powerful poison, doesn't mean your team needs Kobra Khan. Whip it out from non-specific source. In team dynamics at best you need another competent one but Evil-Lyn hardly holds monopoly on that.
>>
>>11713151

>Most of Skeletor's henhmen are just henchmen. They're job is to do physical labor and get into fisticuffs

Pretty much this
And just to illustrate, you guys reading the new Sword of Flaws comic?
Remember issue one where Skeletor attacked with Trap Jaw, Evil-lyn, Tri-klops, Jitsu, Whiplash, Kobra Khan and Spikor as his crew? Did you consider that a good story?
Now mentally do some substitutions.
Swap Khan for Fang Man, Evil-lyn for Shezar, Spikor for Strongarm, Jitsu for Goat Man, Whiplash for Gygor. Does the quality of the story change? Probably not. Narratively the only guy (in that particular story) you couldnt swap is Tri-klops because his vision powers were relevant. But in most cases it's not that Skeletor's main crew are necessary most of the time, it's just marketing and name recognition for fan boys that only want the guys that were in the most episodes of the cartoon they watched as kids rather than them having anything that makes them any better than the undercard. Beast Man isn't innately better than Goat Man as a character, they're both just "dumb mooks for Skeletor to boss around," he's just more familiar and recognizable.
>>
>>11713223
the joints look so much smoother than every other domestic toy, mattel is blowing the fuck out of everything else in this price range with these
battle cat seems to have the same articulated teeth gimmick as masterverse panthor, wonder if they just scaled the mold down or something
>>
>>11713249
I don't want to assume anything until I have one in-hand, but they seem around that Jada tier, with some things better (like the ball jointed wrists), some things worse (not so sure how useful these butterflies will be. if possible they should switch those to ball and socket shoulders, I'd think).

Entirely possible they used the old Battle Cat/Panthor as a base, but the sculpt is all new, so not sure how much would have been carried over.

PixelDan MotU walkthrough at Mattel booth:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=Om23z0nhWhY

New details he got:
>Masterverse is OVER, Chronicles is replacing it
>Origins will NOT end, it will continue as it is
>First Ones will be only for the movie year, separate line like CGI Netflix cartoon one, will not replace Origins at retail
>Crossovers are on pause for 2026 because it's movie year, will return after 2026
>>
>>11713295
I doubt Skeletor will pilot them in the movie
>>
>>11713298
So they plan more toys for 2027 and beyond and Chronicles is the future with Origins. Also, nice to know they have more movie toys to reveal. Probably around May?
>>
>>11713298
>>Origins will NOT end, it will continue as it is
>>Crossovers are on pause for 2026

Based
>>
>>11713298
>Masterverse is OVER, Chronicles is replacing it
"On pause" is strange wording, but scale aside, it seems like Chronicles is the same but done better articulation-wise, so while it's sad for those with a big collection of Masterverse, Chronicles just looks to be done a lot better and will be funner figures so I'm happy with it. If we do still get some Masterverse, if I feel like they work together I wouldn't mind grabbing more.

Also really happy that Origins is continuing. While I'm only cherry picking, the line continues to evolve and be great.

I hope Crossovers can come to Chronicles as well, I'd love to see some figures represented in this form factor as well. And if they want to bring back Masters of the WWE Universe for a few releases, that'd be fun. It would also be interesting for WWE figure collectors since it'd be wrestlers in a slightly smaller scale than they're used to.
>>
>>11713317
they probably want to see if they can actually get people to rebuy all the same characters again
if it doesn't work they'll go back to masterverse
>>
>>11713223
>doing an off the cuff review inside a private room at mattels booth
Damn, wonder who dan blew to make that happen.
>>
>>11713322
No toy company went back to a line after they replaced it, they would admit defeat. Them not confirming Masterverse is dead is just because they don't want to lose masterverse customers, they still have figures to sell this year.
>>
>>11713322
That's possible, but they wouldn't really know until probably 2027 or 2028 (given development times), so at worse Chronicles would get a 2-3 years by this assumption. But then do we go back to the regressed articulation? I don't really care what scale they choose, but I'd definitely want them to keep this new articulation scheme. With the smaller scale it'll probably attract some new people who collect what they think is 1/12, so it's a matter if the old fans will come along too. Between the movie (hopefully to Mattel, I'm sure) renewing interest, and the size and quality, I think it'll meet whatever expectations they might have.
>>
Chronicles is doa. Teela, Evil-Lyn and Man-at-Arms will pegwarm so hard that we'll never see another figure of this line at retail.

These are the worst versions of these characters yet. Female figures sell poorly even when their half naked. Now they're fully clothed and their outfits are ugly. And Man-at-Arms looks like a Gi Joe reject.
>>
>>11713395
I'm sure.
>>
This is probably really wishful thinking cope on my part but if the stars align, Origins could have some VERY interesting releases in the next couple of years
Vintage is almost done, and there's a strong possibility they might even have the last of vintage tooled since there's so few left.
If so, tooling budget that would NORMALLY go to 100% new tooling vintage guys could either go to 100% new tooling non-vintage guys OR get divvied up for more parts reuse non-vintage guys
If they're plan is to continue Origins as is, and that plan extends, as he says, into 2027 and 2028, and Masterverse is going "on pause" so won't need MC slots, we could be headed for a situation of Origins figures EVERY month, all non-vintage online (with variant reboots ala Cartoon Collection at retail), and with adequate tooling budget to make characters some of us had lost hope in seeing become reality.
And if wanna get even rosier with the hopes, if this movie and the investment in the brand does well, shit, you never know, Origins could get an INCREASED budget. An increased budget without an increase in number of figures could mean a lot less reliance on reuse and more ambition in the sculpting, which would open some interesting doors. We've got potential to be in a good position if nothing cock's it up

>>11713647

Heman with kaiju pelts would make the most sense but there is no way in hell they would let Toho lose and get skinned.

Jet Jaguar x Roboto is an obvious choice
Triclops and King Ghidora...because 3?
Battle Cat King Ceasar because lions?

The rest would probably just be random hit or predictable like Heman Godzilla and Kyoryu Skeletor unless you can think of anything else that matches.

>>11713709
You'd more likely get a He-man imbued with Godzilla DNA, think along the lines of that Snake He-man that appeared in that one mini comic. JJ would be paired with MAA because Mattel insists on pushing Duncan in everything despite the cool factor of later heroic warriors, Skeletor would get fused with Destroyah, Teela × Mothra because girls, and maybe a few other wild cards in the mix like Hedorah Stinkor.
>>
>>11712694
I hope to put him together someday soon
>>11712782

>>11707323
I want a tiger in 1/12 scale and the First Ones Battlecat might be the right size for it, although for posability he's limited. I have the Masterverse one though and I like him (aside from his headsculpt being shit) and I also love what I've seen of the Chronicles version.

>>11713722
VC and Black series weren't the toylines that were introduced for the movies. Like Origins and Masterverse, they already existed. Try and find some Force Link Acolyte figures.
>>
>>11713940
And just like Force Link, First Ones will stop with the movie line (unless it's incredibly popular and Mattel wants another MOTU sku) and Chronicles, which is functionally taking over for but also not replacing Masterverse, as stated in the video, will continue with non-movie designs.
>>
>>11713922

Every year I lament the loss of Prequel-era Lucas' creative dynamism. Love them or hate them, the prequels came up with so much fun crazy shit. Off visuals and secondary material alone it was such a good time to be a scifi fag.

Maybe the MOTU movie will do well enough to merit a similar mania...
>>
Who do you think will have more complete movie line, First Ones or Chronicles?
>>
>>11714191
I'd like for First Ones to survive past the movie line, because they look good for $10. But don't see it happening. Kids aren't going to buy Pretty-Boy and the Bastards of Multiculturalism.
>>
>>11714306
>>11714191
Chronicles will stay around, easily. Kids will not be buying shit and collectors want articulation.
>>
>>11714191
Right now it's pretty close, but Chronicles seems to be edging it out for officially known releases.

FO: HM, Skel, Teela, BM, Skel-Knight, Mekaneck, BC (was this one official yet?)
Chronicles: HM, Skel, Teela, Evil-Lyn, Tri-Klops, BC, Trap-Jaw, Ram Man

FO also has the Roton. When all is said and done, First Ones movie figures will stop at some point, whether it's only once they've done everyone, while even if it comes amidst non-movie figures, Chronicles could continue. I'd guess Chronicles will (unless you want vehicles, then go FO).

The problem with FO at retail is that it's a bit redundant with Origins, but then that doesn't stop the DC Basics (do they have a name yet?) and WWE Main Event from living alongside their larger more articulated cousins. I would bet that if FO do well, they'll stick around, but if it's between keeping only one of the two, I'd obviously prefer keeping Chronicles, especially since Origins will continue to exist. Not to mention Mattel will definitely want a MOTU line to exist alongside their DC line, which is probably what prompted this change in scale to begin with.
>>
>>11714191
Collectors on a budget might be all in for FO if the quality is good. Here's my question for everyone. Are you in on the movie figures before the movie or are you going to wait to see how it is?
>>
>>11714474
I'll definitely grab at least Chronicles He-Man and probably Skeletor. Whether I grab more outside of discounts will depend on how much I like the movie, probably.
>>
>>11714474
>Are you in on the movie figures before the movie or are you going to wait to see how it is?
I'm down for the set. Regardless of the movies performance it's still unique versions of the characters. Wasn't the biggest fan of revelations/revolutions but didn't stop me from grabbing the figures.
>>
>>11714474
I'm not in at all until I know we get ALL the characters.
Rev burned me on assuming we'd get Cyborg Whiplash, Blast-Attak, etc. and we never did.
So until I see movie figures Spikor, Goat Man, Roboto, AND they're all in one line (no bullshit like Beast Man being FO exclusive while Tri-klops is Chronicles exclusive or some shit so neither line has a full set) I'm not committing
>>

>Are Motu Origins and Masterverse heads compatible with any of the WWE collector figure bodies
Somewhat. You might need to fill the head a little pre-2025 where the balljoint is for a better fit. WWE fit on MOTU MV and Origins better because you simply heat up the head and push it down to fit.
>>
>>11714956
They're all removable nowadays, aren't they? The neck construction of WWE figures is completely inane, massively out of date.

Is this really all we saw from Toyfair?
>>
>>11715014
Pretty much it and the Skel-Knight (which was leaked/shown soon before) were the only new MOTU reveals, and Mekaneck was only for people who asked to see the back of the packaging.
>>

They can only allow what the movie studio allows due to spoilers so not everything is going to get revealed.

My question is, is when can we start buying this stuff.

kind of a mix of pulpy scifi and futuristic superhero yet also a fun looking generic mook

Not all that motu but I don't hate him either like vagina skull soldier and boring teela

Elite and Ultimate heads, gear, and clothes. The pant legs for MDM are rolled inside at the bottom to make them shorter to work on MOTU legs.

Thanks a lot and these pictures are great. I can't wait to see a Superman on an Origins body and I'm praying Mattel does a deep cut like Warlord so I can make an origins body version myself. The vintage toys and even dc direct are too expensive for some reason. And the vintage is obviously Motu inspired.

I love how of all the characters to get paired with Stridor it was the man with a giant fist. Imagine this fucking thing barreling at you at 300 robot horse power with a metal fist winding up a punch.

I hope it's in the movie but it probably isnt.

You'd think it's a deranged kook out to annoy >>11715864 but what are the odds of that being true?

Had a bittersweet moment today, say WWE superstars Great Muta (a personal favorite) and iron shiek on a shelf full of million dollar man's for $5. Grabbed up zeus, muta, shieky baby and diesel and when I rang up they were sadly $20 a pop and I just don't have $80+ for figures. So I put them back and found a cactus jack and papa shango that were $5 a pop. So y'know, not a bad little surprise find and id much rather have a voodoo priest than a black wizard. And it really solidified my my decision to get muta, this line is a real pain to collect so I just left it alone after I found doink and Andre.
If anyone is looking for some WWEternia figures I've got a decent unopened collection for sale or trade btw.

I'm new to collecting MotU and may be interested in some. Shoot me a list or photo of what you may have to sell and I'll take a look.
>>
>>11716058
I had that happen. It was like they took the whole section and moved it into the clearance section. Out of all the figures only 2 of them rang up $5. I found that out when was ringing up in electronics and the team leader refused to match the rest despite a couple of them having the $5 tag on them. She even peeled one of the tags off while I was there. I told her I was putting them back then waited a few minutes and headed up to the self checks and just scanned the ones that were $5 multiple times. The old balding Indian lady didn’t even check twice since they were all the same and a lot had $5 tags on them. Fuck them.
>>
>>11716058
>>11716434
Everything from Wave 1 to 12 has been moved to clearance in the WM system. The Summerslam display shipped with Wave 13 and the big double sided collector display with SW, Joe, WWE, MOTU, etc shipped with Wave 14 or Wave 15 depending on stocking. Some skipped the Summerslam aisle display and put them on the Collector display. Wave 1-12 are typically $5. Wave 13+ has a new WWE Superstars II sku in the system so full price. Individual stores may markdown those later wave figures from the Collector display but mostly you're going to find them full price because the sku is active for stocking.

>There is now less than 10 actual vintage figures left to do

I wonder if they're actually gonna do it this year.
Is the four they've released in the last couple months gonna end up being an isolated spurt and no more vintage for a few months?
Or is it an indication they're going to hard push for finishing this year?

From He-Mania. I saw the back of the Skeletor Package with him and Trap-Jaw, but not sure which packages the rest came from. These are apparently all Chronicles figures.
>>
>>11716872

>>
>>11716878
Don't make me make it worse...

They should add a Heroic Warrior to that Skeletor wave. The next 2 probably aren't waves but just parts of assortments. Also if those really are a new He-Man and Skeletor already I'll probably have to wait to see what those look like.
>>
Anyone finds it weird that Roboto was included in that main heroes team shot and now he/she/it is missing from both toylines? You think robot for a toyline is a no-brainer.
>>
>>11716689
There's a ton of ways they could go with Sketchbook Skeletor. I just hope it's not this one.

>>11716872
Orange is on the menu again
>>
>>11716906
I'm sure we'll get em, but I bet it'll take a deluxe sku, and naturally Battle Cat takes up the first slot. I'd think it wouldn't be that pricey, but given the look it probably wouldn't fit as a regular figure.

That, or there's an updated look that Roboto gets in the movie (more in line with that classic look) and that's the one they want to make. Pure speculation, of course.
>>
>>11716906
>>11716950
I find the lack of Spikor and Goat Man annoying.
The two characters that made me give a shit about any of this in the first place, so of course neither will be included in the initial offerings
>>
Anyone know what the street date is for MOTU movie figures?
>>11716914
That one is cool tho
>>
>>11716954
While I agree, they're hitting the core characters, and if we weren't getting those people would be complaining that we aren't getting those. It would have been funny if we got Spikor so early again, like we did in the Revelation wave 2 I believe. Based on the trailer, there aren't that many more characters to hit until we get those (we should be mindful also that this is maybe 3 waves at most). There's what, Mekanek, the aforementioned Roboto, then those 2.
>>
>>11717023
It's just dragon blaster Skeletor wearing a skelcon hat instead of a dragon.
>>
It really seems like they're currently just "dumping" the last of vintage.
Up until Dragstor, they used to at least announce vintage characters, show them at SDCC or something, build some lead up hype.
But Multi-Bot? We didn't know until the Amazon listing went live
Blast-Attak and Stonedar? Unnamed calendar listings that they only confirm the figure a week before sale date.

It gives real "we're done and wanna get this bunch over with" optics
>>
Don't worry guys the movie will flop. jared faggot is mentioned in the epstein files
>>
>>11717491
weird yes, unless jobbers like red shadow are selling REALLY badly while vintage is doing decent numbers? which fucking sucks, we'd all buy Wrap Trap or maybe even Gladiator.
>>
Is anyone else a little underwhelmed by all the movie shit? I get it from a business sense but I was hoping for more origins reveals or even an MCX revival. The Mighty Masters are the only thing I'm hyped for desu.

>>11717596
I'm not interested in the movie, I'll watch it but the movie and the toy lines are more geared towards bringing in and building a new audience. The older fans aren't being ignored but we are getting the back seat treatment, and that's just how it is. I'm just waiting to see what's next for the sketchbook series and the mattel creations figures, and hopefully there will be something movie related I like the looks of.
What I dread is the idea of all the spazzes on toy flocking to the motu general and crapping it up like ol z@t did a few years back.

Skeletor concept art from the canceled Warner Bros. film Grayskull: Masters of the Universe, which was in development in 2008 for a planned 2010 release.

In this version, Keldor’s face was decaying from using the dark half of the Power Sword, so he wore a skull-shaped mask. A twist during the film’s final battle would have revealed that Skeletor’s face was completely decayed due to the sword’s dark magic, and that he had a skull-like face beneath the mask all along.

The full script can be read here, pretty epic:

I just got the Masterverse Kobra Khan. Beautiful figure but the plastic feels different than the rest of the line, kinda brittle. I read about this gold plastic syndrome and wonder if that the case with this one since it does have metallic swirls. Anyone know if this gps thing is legit? Think of returning it.
