Last pic, I like that BLDR is growing even though I have yet to see one of their sets in stores.

>>11719376
This is my most anticipated set this year, I really hope they get more mature anime licenses that L#go won't touch. Maybe we get Demon Slayer next!

>Masters of the Universe (2026) Brick Shop Skeletor Havoc Staff 1/2 Scale Replica
https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/359910

Apparently, more “display” sets like this are coming, so it’s possible we might not get figures in this line after all. A Fright Fighter set and a Battle Cat set (similar to the old brick-built one from years ago) are also coming. Possibly a Power Sword in this style as well.
>>
>>11719387
So Mega Bloks died for nothing, I wish Mattel never bought them...
>>
>>11719360
This line has a lot of potential, and if it's successful could force LEGO to deflate their bloated prices. What it needs is BIG items with a massive number of pieces to really get people's attention. Maybe a Castle Grayskull?
>>
Why is it perfect? Many competitors tried to reinvent the minifig but they all look like cheap imitations. I think Megabloks was close with their articulated figures, but making new sculpts and moulds must've been too expensive for them to produce.
>>
>>11719405
I personally hate the minifig, I think the kreon is peak design.
>>
>>11719376
>>11719378
So these are the first human BLDR figs. I dont hate the look, but compared to the sanrio ones they did these don't have enough difference between Lego. Mega went all in on mini-action figure, kreo sacrificed some of the look for transforming figs, even McFarlane did a million paint apps to make it look distinct. They dont look bad but I fear they'll try and double down on figs that are just OK
>>
>>11719360
any possiblity MBS will make brick built versions of their fantasy castings?
very likely they're be doing Twin Mills n' Bone Shakers when that happens, but I would be interested with what other options they'll pick.

the Deora II especially, that design alone has touched the ceiling of what's possible with normal bricks.

Some news, apparently, this is the set list for the Masters of the Universe Brick Shop series. All of them are display models and may not include figures, but that is still unknown:

>Buildable Havoc Staff display model
>Buildable Power Sword display model
>Skeletor bust display model
>Fright Fighter display model
>Roton display model
>Small scale Castle Grayskull display model
>Small scale Snake Mountain display model

The last four sets might include mini figures. It is currently unknown whether they do. Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain are way smaller in scale compared to the older sets. I suppose around $100 range is very likely for them. Apparently these sets were shown at NYTF in a room only for retailers, no press allowed. These sets should have listings leaked in the upcoming weeks on retail sites.

Why? Who asked for this?
>Skeletor bust display model
Better come with a Skeletor figure
>Fright Fighter display model
>Roton display model
>Small scale Castle Grayskull display model
>Small scale Snake Mountain display model
I hope they have mini figures, if they don't then I don't care about them, it's like Mattel is selling me half a toy.
>>
>>11719387
lmao, I fucking told you retards, don't get your hopes up.

Expect the same for the Halo sets
>Warthog display in the same scale as Hot Wheels
>buildable Master Chief Helmet
>buildable Halo logo
>1/2 scale Energy Sword display
And none of them will have figures. Mega has officially been murdered. I hope you fuckers like cars.

>>
>>11720279
They saw Lego raking in cash from retarded adults and wanted a piece of the pie.
>>
>>11719405
the Lego minifig is a convergence of many things. if somebody could unlock all the variables, they could win without "copying" it. things like size, basic posing, customizing the parts, even variables like familiarity and nostalgia (?)

Lego has done it themselves, when they did girly Friends sets. those don't have regular minifigs, they might as well be knock-off company figures!

I really think there's a space for anime-style figures. something like really tiny Nendoroids would have a good chance to gain ground out from under Lego's massive boot

"Display." it's something nice for the office to go with your co-workers Pops.
MEGA (as opposed to their bootlegs) sucks
>>
Is AreaX dead? They used to make licensed spongebob and yugioh sets but when looking at their site it says their online store is closed! Apparently both licenses went to Lego!

There have been posts on r/buildingblocks and r/lepin from Barweer about this. The company is apparently closing up shop. Just one of the many dangers of letting your fortunes ride on licensed properties rather than developing your own.

Continuing from last thread to complete the series, for my records if nothing else.

Dana(?) Fan, Demoman
>Dong is an elite soldier belonging to the secret border-guarding organization "Ghost Special Forces." He possesses a lithe yet powerful physique, and his deep-set eyes always radiate determination and courage, as if he can see through the fog of war. His explosives skills have shone brightly in numerous military operations. In one raid on a key enemy facility, facing tight defenses and complex terrain, he precisely placed explosives, successfully destroying the target and clearing obstacles for the team's advance, becoming a trusted explosives expert among his comrades.
>>
>>11722496
Zhao Zhijun, the sniper
>A fearsome sniper in the "Ghost Task Force." His most iconic weapon is his custom-made high-precision assault rifle, constructed from a special carbon fiber material that is not only lightweight but also boasts exceptional stability and concealment. The barrel undergoes a special process to minimize bullet error, and paired with his custom-designed scope, he can achieve precise shooting from over a kilometer away. Like a ghost lurking in the shadows, he protects the team's safety with deadly bullets, an indispensable and crucial force within the squad.
>>
>>11722499
Tang Long, cover
>Tang Long is the core pillar of the "Ghost Special Forces" for suppressing fire and providing cover. Born into a military family in the border region, he grew up listening to stories of his elders' bloody battles and possessed an almost obsessive belief in protecting his country. During a high-risk border mission, his squad was ambushed by the enemy. In a life-or-death situation, he single-handedly suppressed the enemy with firepower, successfully covering his comrades' retreat, but was seriously wounded in the battle. After recovering, Tang Long was selected by the "Ghost Team" and became a member of this mysterious team, continuing to shine on the battlefield protecting the border.
>>
>>11722500
Deng Bao (Main attacker)
>Xiao Yong is the lead attacker in the "Ghost Task Force," known for his bravery and skill. Born in a small southern city renowned for its martial arts culture, he trained rigorously in martial arts schools from a young age, developing solid skills and unwavering willpower. As an adult, he resolutely joined the special forces. With his extraordinary physical abilities and fighting spirit, he excelled in numerous high-intensity training sessions and combat missions, accumulating rich experience in close-quarters combat and assault operations. His fearless and always leading-the-front style in battle led to his selection by the Ghost Task Force, making him an indispensable key offensive force within the team.

And that rounds out the Ghost Task Force, think they got some names mixed up but they'll go by western tough guy names anyway, like Gabriel Stone, Dirk Action, John Fist, Blake Shrapnel...

Expiring patent was a gift from God.

$5Below

----- ----- -----

Stupidly, didn't look for a new thread:

>>02/26/26(Thu)13:22:28 No.11723838
Had to return a coffee cart from 5Below, I thought I could spruce up as a meeting place for action figures on a street diorama but once I got it home, it looked too junky.

They now have actual LEGO and still have the same 'brick' copy cats they always carried and then some. But this was actually a pretty big store. They even had stuff I never noticed before, like a Spy v Spy living room brick set and other weeb brick mixed stuff like that.

Took a few pictures but they are all out of focus.

I've been seeing some clone sets on Aliexpress that are tempting me. I've gotten a few bootlego animals and they're good aside from some minor paint imperfections but I've never gotten a complete set. Has /pbbg/ had good experiences with Aliexpress or is it so much cheaper for a reason? I don't care about boxes or instruction booklets.
>>
>>11724604
I should just make a copypasta for this question because it gets asked every thread.

Chink bootlego has become quite decent. Clutch power and colours have become consistent enough with rare outliers like some hinge pieces being a little loose. The biggest disparity in quality between Aliexpress copies and the real thing is the building experience. The set not being neatly separated into bags and the sometimes unreadable instructions being restricted to pdf downloads from shady links can hurt the experience quite a lot. Also missing pieces are common.

For the dirt cheap price you pay most people would consider it worth it if you plan on using it for general MOCing or just messing around with.

My bad, anon and thanks. I suppose there's a trickle of people who get fed up with Lego's prices and practices. I have a large enough collection that I should be able to fill in the occasional missing basic part and for 1/5 to 1/3 of the price of the official thing I might have to try one of these out.

I have no issue with that.
Lego has preyed on parents for generations.

As the guy who just ordered two mecha and then bought one more, paying $1.80-$2.40 USD for shit that retails for $17-19.99 and that is retired in some cases and overpriced worker for me.

I totally agree about the baggies build and shitty instruction book. And I am pretty sure a few bricks are missing. Once I build the other two, I'll post more pictures (next thread?) but if you check the last one. BootLego is worth what I paid and then some so far.

the lil pops are junk, though
they are as soulless as the larger ones
these, for example, smaller with peg grooves on the bottom and different (non-soulless eyes) would work because they feel very solid.
But being one entire piece would mean they would always be in that position, which is the problem with all of these.

lol i used to do the same
>>
>>11726475
I was referring to anime-style figures, which is something Lego seems to be ignoring.

both Nendoroid and Funko have similar aggressive license grabbing. they each make as many figures as they can, of whatever they can (Funko especially!) if somebody else did that, with the right-looking figures, with a little brick-build next to it, Lego might be in trouble
